I was with Thorin, he was holding a tunic of white mail. Thorin had given me some armour and I was wearing a combination of Shoreline armour and dwarven, he had given me a Queens armoured headdress to wear, it was similar to his own but brighter in colour. I saw Bilbo walk by,

"Bilbo!" I called as Thorin looked up, he comes over to us and Thorin holds out the mail tunic,

"You are going to need this. Put it on." Thorin spoke, Bilbo begins removing his jacket. "This vest is made of silver steel - "Mithril" it was called by my forebears." Thorin explained as I smiled at Bilbo, Thorin holds it up so that Bilbo can slide into it. "No blade can pierce it." Thorin added, Bilbo finishes putting it on, then looks at himself; the other dwarves watch too.

"I look absurd. I'm not a warrior; I'm a Hobbit." Bilbo explained,

"It is a gift. A token of our friendship. True friends are hard to come by." Thorin spoke, he looked at me and nodded, I had pursued Thorin to give him something.

I walk away from Thorin and to the other dwarves that were nearby. I walk behind them to my brother and Aulton; they were wearing Shoreline armour that they had enhanced using some of the tools from Erebor. I look back and see Thorin whispering to Bilbo, he glanced at me for a moment and then turns Bilbo away from us.

As I get to my family I look back at Bilbo as he looks to me, I see concern and fear in his eyes as I frown with worry. He could see something was wrong with Thorin as well…

Later that night Bilbo came to me and asked me to help him out of the mountain, I made a staircase from the gap in the wall so he could get out and go do what he needed to do. I told him I'd make it difficult to climb for his return, but he should still be able to climb it without the others realising I made it.

Bilbo told me he had the Arkenstone, he told me his plan to give it to Thranduil to get Thorin to honour his deal. I hoped it would bring him back to me.

I watched the hobbits body disappear into the night as I thought about what I wished had happened instead. I felt a hand on my shoulder and Austen was next to me,

"We are leaving. We need you to come with us." Austen spoke,

"I can't… Thorin is sick and needs help." I explained as Austen sighed, Aulton stepped out,

"I know. We are going to join the elves. You can join us when you are ready. Whatever you need to do to help your love." Aulton spoke as I flushed, I never told anyone I loved Thorin… I never even told him how I felt… I looked down as Austen hugged me and then put his forehead against him,

"Be safe, sister." Austen whispered,

"Be strong, brother." I smiled and he pulled away.

I watched my family leave in the same direction of Bilbo as I turned and changed the rock to look normal.

Early the next morning, we see that the plain in front of the Mountain is covered in legions of Elves and men, armed for battle. The dwarves, also prepared, watch from above the gate blockade. I stand with Thorin

We see Thranduil and Bard ride together to the front of the armies and approach their side of the broken bridge over the moat. From above the blockade, Thorin draws a bow and shoots an arrow at the ground directly in front of Thranduil and Bard, who immediately halt in surprise.

"I will put the next one between your eyes!" Thorin yelled as I frowned and put my hands behind my back. I saw Austen and Aulton further back. Thorin draws his bow again, and the dwarves on the wall cheer and shake their weapons, I remained quiet. Thranduil stares at Thorin angrily, then slightly tilts his head.

Instantly, several rows of Elves near the front of the army pull out their bows, nock their arrows, and aim at the dwarves, all in one fluid motion. The dwarves' cheering cuts off abruptly as all of them but Thorin and myself duck behind the ramparts. After holding the pose for a few seconds, Thranduil raises his hand, and the elves easily put away their arrows. Thorin still has his bow drawn, though.

"We've come to tell you: payment of your debt has been offered...and accepted." Thranduil called,

"What payment? I gave you nothing! You have nothing!" Thorin shouted as I looked down,

"We have this." Bard reaches into his robe and pulls out the Arkenstone, holding it above his head. Thorin, shocked, lowers his bow.

"They have the Arkenstone? Thieves! How came you by the heirloom of our house? That stone belongs to the king!" Kili moved to the other side of Thorin,

"And the king may have it - in our good will." Bard spoke, he puts the Arkenstone back into his robe. "But first he must honour his word." Bard added as he glanced at me.

Thorin whispers to himself, and the dwarves near him can hear.

"They are taking us for fools. This is a ruse, a filthy lie." Thorin spoke quietly as I stepped back so the dwarves could listen, Balin looks shocked that Thorin's mental state has deteriorated to the point at which he would even consider this. Thorin then yells out. "THE ARKENSTONE IS IN THIS MOUNTAIN! IT IS A TRICK!" Thorin yelled at the top of the ramparts, Bilbo steps out from the dwarves and moves in front of me.

"It-It's no trick. The stone is real. I gave it to them." Bilbo spoke, as Bilbo speaks, Thorin's expression changes to a mixture of sorrow and anger. Thranduil and Bard look worries, as they thought Bilbo was still safely in Dale. Thorin and the other dwarves look at Bilbo in shock.

"You…" Thorin glared at Bilbo

"I took it as my fourteenth share." Bilbo explained,

"You would steal from me?" Thorin snarled,

"Steal from you? No. No. I may be a burglar, but I like to think I'm an honest one. I'm willing to let it stand against my claim." Bilbo smiled,

"Against your claim?! Your claim! You have no claim over me you miserable rat!" Thorin throws down his bow in anger and begins walking toward Bilbo.

"I was going to give it to you. Many times, I wanted to, but..." Bilbo started,

"But what, thief?!" Thorin snapped,

"You are changed, Thorin! The dwarf I met in Bag End would never have gone back on his word! Would never have doubted the loyalty of his kin!" Bilbo explained,

"Do not speak to me...of loyalty!" Thorin glared at the hobbit as I took a deep breath in frustration, Thorin looked at me,

"Throw him over the rampart!" Thorin yelled at me, I just kept my hands behind my back,

"No." I plainly answered, Thorin looked back at the other dwarves,

"Do it!" Thorin yelled at them. Bilbo looks back at me shocked. The other dwarves, rather than obeying Thorin, step away from Bilbo in confusion. Thranduil and Bard look concerned. Thorin is surprised that no one obeyed him.

"DO YOU HEAR ME?!" Thorin grabs Fili's arm, but Fili shakes him away. "I will do it myself!" Thorin lunges forward and grabs Bilbo, shouting. "CURSE YOU!" Thorin yelled as I went to pull Bilbo away from Thorin,

"No!" Fili yelled, as Thorin struggles with Bilbo, the other dwarves leap forward, shouting, to pull Thorin away. Thorin manages to grab Bilbo and begins pushing him over the rampart. I ran at Thorin and tried to grab Bilbo.

"Let him go!" I snapped, I grabbed onto Thorin's arm, and his strength and rage took me by surprise as he pushed me back with a lot of force, he didn't realise that I tripped backwards and smacked my head back into the wall. I fell down on the floor and Balin moved to my side as I put my hand behind my head in pain, I could see Bilbo look at me with fear.

"Cursed be the Wizard that forced you on this Company!" Thorin yelled as I tried to get up from the floor, I suddenly hear an incredibly loud, deep, and powerful voice,

"IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY BURGLAR…" Gandalf yelled, his voice returns to a normal volume and tone. "Then please don't damage him. Return him to me! You're not making a very splendid figure as king under the mountain, are you? Thorin son of Thrain!" Gandalf finished, Thorin slowly lets Bilbo up, and some of the other dwarves rush to help Bilbo up.

Bilbo quickly moves over to me to check I'm okay,

"Never again will I have dealings with wizards..." Thorin snapped, Bilbo helped me off the ground as Thorin caught the fact that I had fallen because of his forcefulness.

Bofur gently pushes Bilbo toward the rope he'd hung the night before to climb down the walls.

"Go." Bofur spoke,

"Or Shire-rats!" Thorin yelled at Bilbo as he throws his coiled rope over the wall and clambers down. I looked at the rope and grab on it myself, Bofur looks at me disheartened,

"I'm sorry… I can't stay with this." I apologised at Thorin looked at me, I could see his heart breaking as I looked at him, "you aren't yourself, Thorin." I spoke, I looked at my brother and Aulton for a second in the crowd, "you… aren't the man I fell in love with." I looked at Thorin, "if he's still in there, then there's a chance… but right now. I can't deal with this abuse." I frowned and slammed my foot on the floor and a platform appeared out the wall for me to stand on and I rotated my arms and moved my body and the rock moved away from the Lonely Mountain.

I stopped near Gandalf, and I put my hand behind my head again and saw blood as I pulled it forward,

"Let me quickly…" Gandalf put his hand behind my head for a moment, my back was to Thorin this entire time. I didn't want to look at him. He didn't say anything about me leaving, I knew that got to him one way…

"Are we resolved? The return of the Arkenstone for what was promised." Bard asked, "Give us your answer! Will you have peace or war?" Bard yelled as the cut healed, as Thorin bows his head, a large raven flies up to the ramparts and perches beside him. Thorin and the raven stare at each other. I watch this as I turned my head to see Thorin,

"I will have war!" Thorin yelled.

A rumbling is heard in the distance, and the armies look up to see the ridge being covered by troops of heavily armoured dwarves, led by a huge dwarf riding a battle-pig.

"Ironfoot." Gandalf spoke as I moved around Gandalf to see the dwarven army. The Erebor dwarves begin cheering and screaming as they see their backup arriving.

"Ribo i thangail!" Thranduil yelled, he rides through his army as his Elves and the Lake people turn away from the gates of Erebor and begin marching quickly toward the oncoming Iron Hills dwarves. Gandalf strides along with them, Bilbo rushing to keep up. Austen and Aulton move besides us as Bilbo caught up as well,

"Who is that? He doesn't look very happy." Bilbo spoke,

"It is Dain, lord of the Iron Hills - Thorin's cousin." Gandalf explained,

"Are they alike?" Bilbo asked,

"I always found Thorin the more reasonable of the two." Gandalf answered as I rolled my eyes,

"Fantastic." I grumbled as I looked back at Thorin at the entrance to Erebor.

The two armies halt a short distance from one another, and Dain rides his pig onto a rocky overlook to address the Elves and Men.

"Good morning! How are we all? I have a wee proposition, if you wouldn't mind giving me a few moments of your time. Would you consider...just sodding off!" Dain called, the townspeople, clutching their weapons, step back in fear, while the Elves pull out their swords and step forward. "All of you - right now!" Dain snapped,

"Stand fast!" Bard called to his people.

I followed Gandalf forward,

"Come now, lord Dain!" Gandalf spoke,

"Gandalf the Grey. Tell this rabble to leave, or I'll water the ground with their blood!" Dain yelled as I slammed my foot down ready to move the earth that they stood on, but I could feel something in the distance as I looked down,

"There is no need for war between dwarves, men and elves! A legion of orcs march on the mountain. Stand your army down!" Gandalf yelled; he noticed me distracted by something as I knelt down

"I will not stand down before any elf! Not least this faithless woodland sprite!" Dain gestures toward Thranduil, who looks angry. "He wishes nothing but ill upon my people! If he chooses to stand between me and my kin - I'll split his pretty head open! See if he's still smirking then!" Dain yelled, Thranduil smiles furiously, and the Erebor dwarf's cheer.

"He's clearly mad, like his cousin!" Thranduil spoke,

"You hear that, lads?!" Dain cheered, he turns and re-joins his army. "Come on! Let's give these ***** a good hammering!" Dain yelled; the army of dwarves cheered as I looked up at Gandalf.

A dwarf yells out a command, and the Iron Hills dwarves raise their weapons and cheer. The Elves perform a complicated manoeuvre to put their shield-and-spear bearers at the front of the army, while the arches stand behind them.

"They're here…" I looked at Gandalf, he frowns as both armies prepare to fight, a rumbling is heard at the base of a spur of the mountain. The armies grow silent as they turn to look. Gandalf whispers to himself.

"Were-worms!" Gandalf spoke as I nodded.

At the spur of the mountain where the rumbling is coming from, massive worms, hundreds of feet long and dozens of feet thick, break through the rocks. Their mouths are essentially giant drilling machines, strong enough to crush the toughest rocks in their jaws. The human, Elf, and dwarf armies look on in shock.

The worms suddenly retreat into the tunnels they'd made through the mountains approaching the Lonely Mountain. As the mist clears, we see Azog and a few other Orcs standing atop a hill. Behind them are several massive contraptions made of wood, rope, and cloth, meant as signalling devices.

I look up at the pale orc and slam my feet down and slam my hands together I push them to the ground and one of the tunnels collapses on itself.

Azog yells from his spot and one of his structures opens to a position and a horn sound. Immediately, legions of Orcs begin pouring out of the were-worm tunnels.

"The hordes of hell are upon us! To battle! To battle, sons of Durin!" Dain and part of his army turn and rush toward the oncoming Orcs.

"I'm going over the wall! Who's coming with me?" Fili cheered, the other dwarves cheer and agree, preparing to climb down.

"Stand down!" Thorin ordered,

"What?" Bofur asked,

"Are we to do nothing?" Fili asked,

"I said STAND DOWN!" Thorin yelled, as he walks away, the other look on in shock and surprise. Meanwhile, as Dain and a company of his dwarves rush toward the oncoming Orcs, the Elves stay right where they are. The dwarves are clearly outnumbered by the Orcs.

"The elves, will they not fight?" Bilbo asked,

"Thranduil! This is madness!" Gandalf looked at Thranduil, he looks back at the Iron Hills dwarves, who have stopped and built a shield wall with their massive spears pointed outward, led by the chants of the leader. The orcs are fast approaching the shield wall. Suddenly, right as the Orcs reach the dwarves, the Elves leap up over the shield wall from behind, wielding their swords, and begin raining down blows on the Orcs.

As the Elves press forward, the dwarvish shield wall is raised and the dwarves rush forward, cutting down Orcs with their spears. Dain rides furiously through the Orcs, smashing them left and right with his hammer. As the remaining elves march toward the battle, Gandalf, Bilbo, Austen, Aulton and myself are standing in one place.

"Eh, Gandalf - Is this a good place to stand?" Bilbo asked, I looked at the top of the hill and watched Azog yell out. The wooden signalling devices change their position to show a new signal. Gandalf, seeing the signal, looks toward the tunnels to see new legions of Orcs, including massive trolls and other monsters, come out.

Thranduil shouts to his troops. The Elves stop and pull out their bows.

As a horn sound and the signalling device changes again, another legion of Orcs that had been waiting for the signal turn and march toward Dale, which is between the current battle and the tunnels.

"Azog - he's trying to cut us off" Gandalf yelled, we see massive trolls, each large enough to carry multiple other dwarves and wooden structures such as catapults on their back, march toward the city along with the armies of Orcs.

"All of you, fall back to Dale! Now!" Bard yelled, the Lakepeople, Gandalf, and Bilbo rush toward the city, trying to intercept the Orcs. I look at Azog and frown.

"To the city! Bilbo! This way!" Gandalf called, he stopped and looked at me, Austen and Aulton nodded at me and joined the Elves with the dwarves. I looked back at Gandalf,

"Aurora!" Gandalf yelled at me, I transformed into an eagle and took off towards Azog, "Aurora!" Gandalf called again as I flew away.
