Harry sat at the gryfindor table staring at her. Cho, he was trying to build up the nerve to ask her to the ball but he couldn't. She was too pretty. "Harry," a hand waved in front of his face. It was Hermione. "Harry you need to find someone to take to the ball it's 2 days away your going to look like an embarrassment in front of the whole school, your opening you know. I know Hermione." He replied. "It's just that the only people who want to go with me only want me because I'm school champion." He wondered if Cho said yes if it would be for that reason? "Harry I can see you staring at her and if you don't stop soon it's going to become very weird. I think it already has Hermione" he said as Cho looked straight at him and blushed. "Well then you need to do something about it don't just sit here and stare. Fine Hermione." I'll do it tonight"
That night after dinner he followed Cho from the dining hall. He saw her about to enter the common room and quickly called for her. She blushed as her friends started giggling. He suddenly felt very stupid. "Can I talk to you for a moment? Of course." When he spoke it all came out very fast in a slur and had to repeat himself. "Do you want to go to the ball with me?" She seemed like she new what he was going to ask before he did. "Im really sorry" she said "but someone's already asked me and I said I'd go." "Im sorry" Harry new that this would be the answer however this shocked him slightly. "Who are you going with?" He asked "Cedric. Cedric diggory."
Back in the common room he was sitting with Hermione. He was in deep trouble now because it seemed as though Ron had managed to get a partner with Lavender brown and he, the champion was still without a partner. Hermione was very sympathetic of Harry and even offered to leave Krum just to go with Harry but he knew that this would pain both Hermione and krum very much and did not wish to ruin their holiday. He tried to think about anyone who might have liked him at all before he was champion and then it came to him. Ginny. "Hermione," he said, "do you know if Ginny is going with anyone?"
