Welcome back, everyone. Enjoy and review.
Morning's Light
In the light of the morning, Gard and Davaak searched the surrounding area for Bengali. It was ultimately the latter who found him lying upon the bank of the river and only barely conscious. Kneeling down, Davaak shook the white tiger awake and much to his horror, the cat wished he was not. Seeing a Labinnac before him, Bengali bolted up and backed away saying "Stay back! I don't want any trouble!"
Alas, Davaak did not understand what Bengali said. In response all he did was stand up and motion for the ThunderCat to follow him. Upon walking away and realizing that Bengali was not following him, the Labinnac returned to find Bengali trying to sneak away.
To say that Davaak was annoyed, would be an understatement. He grabbed Bengali by the arm and proceeded to drag the cat away, saying: "Qu'est-ce que tu fais, mon garcon? Nous vous cherchions! Viens viens viens! Nous avons cette pierre maudite! Sortons d'ici au plus vite! C'est un endroit diabolique! Je ne sais meme pas pourquoi je suis venu ici en premier lieu, mais je suis content de l'avoir fait!"
No more understanding Davaak than Davaak understood him, Bengali was convinced that the Labinnac was insane. Wrenching himself free from Davaak's grip, Bengali cried out: "Somebody help me! There is an insane Labinnac trying to converse with me!"
It was at that point Gard stepped in, an amused expression upon his scarred countenance. "You are quite alright, Bengali. Davaak means no harm." Holding up the Soul Stone he then said: "We have this and we have you. How are you feeling, son?"
Unsure of how to describe his recent experience, the white tiger replied: "I've been better." Looking at Davaak, he then asked: "Since when are Labinnac our friends, Gard? Who is this?"
"Since today, Bengali." Gard answered. "And his name is Davaak."
"Strange name." Bengali commented.
"I'm sure he finds the names of races such as mine and yours equally strange." Stated Gard.
To the surprise of both Gard and Bengali, Davaak actually seemed to be nodding in agreement. Could it be that he understood what was being said even without understanding the words? The nodding only ceased when some sunlight shined through the nearby tree tops and hit Davaak in the eye, causing the Labinnac to back away.
His tone rather annoyed, Davaak exclaimed: "Plein soleil tot le matin!"
Cracking a smile, Gard commented: "Yes, indeed. Come, let us be on the way. We must bring the Soul Stone and you back to the ThunderCats, Bengali, and I'm sure the new addition would like to be introduced to you."
The End
