Ch 4
"Somemeow help me!" The female tabby from earlier cried in fear as she ran from a Jaggi heading for a cliff. The Jaggi was about to attack when it fell and slid to a stop. She had her back against the cliff and the Jaggi had come to a stop almost touching her quivering nose.
"Did I hear a call for help?" A skeleton cat asked from on top the dead Jaggi.
"Ahhh it's alive!" She screamed again as she threw rocks and random stuff lying around at the talking skeleton.
"Ow! Can. ow You. ow Stop That!" The cat cried as rocks bounced off his rib cage and a good sized stick impacted his head.
"The skeleton is talking." The tabby mumbled as she folded into herself. "I'm going to wake up in my bed and this will all be a dream. Yeah just a dream."
"So, where'd ya live?" The skeleton cat asked.
"Why does a skeleton… Oh of course the skeleton wants to know where I live, it's going to suck me and my family dry."
Seeing how the female tabby was taking this, Stewart took off his helmet revealing a gray cat with a irritated look on his face "Hey I'm alive."
This caused the female tabby to faint, looking at the tabby he says "Oh brother, my handsome good looks were to much for her to handle."
The tabby came to consciousness slowly groaning as she blearily looked around and saw a strange gray and white cat sitting at a fire with what looked like a chicken rotating over it."Ah, your finally awake." Then He pointed to a log next to his. "There's a seat." She scampered over and sat looking at the strange cat warily. "It's not like I'm going to eat you, by the way I'm Stewart whats your's?" Stewart said as he cut a strip of meat off and handed it to her.
"Um I'm Tanya." Tanya said gingerly taking the meat. Taking a bite her eyes lit up as she started wolfing it down. "What happened to the talking skeleton?"
Smiling Stewart said. "Do you miss the guy or something?"
"No nonononononono." Tanya answered. "I just want to know the logistics behind a walking talking skeleton."
Pulling his Avaricious skull Armour out of his pouch "Oh, you mean this little piece of equipment that I wear just to see the horrified expression of people when they see me in it."
Tanya shrieked as she scooted off the log falling to the ground.
Stewart then tossed the outfit in her direction as he said "Here, put this on."
"Eh?" Tanya asked as she stood up after a few tries as the weird armor tangled itself around her limbs.
Seeing her confusion Stewart explained "If your going to travel with me you need to have some sort of protection other than me." Then he started digging around in his bag while muttering "Now where did I put that." He then exclaimed and brandished a big golden hook. "Ahhah."
Tanya looked at the hook her head tilted and ears twitching.
'So cute.' Stewart thought before asking. "Do you want to be shown how to put the Armour on?"
"No I can figure it." Tanya answered before glaring at him. "Turn around."
Adopting a puzzled look Stewart pointed out "But your covered in fur! It's not like I'm going to see your womanhood."
Tanya gasped in shock before her glare turned glacial. "How dare you."
"I'm only stating the facts." Then Stewart started taking off his Dark Meowgic Armour and shouted "If your so embarrassed by being covered in fur, I'll strip just to show you there is nothing to be embarrassed about!"
Tanya shrieked as she ran into the bushes.
"What are you running away for!?" Realizing something Stewart slammed a fist into his palm before slipping into his Armour and picking up the Avaricious set before running after her "Don't run off it's dangerous out there!"
Tanya didn't know how long she'd been running but she still hadn't gotten used to being part cat and was still squeamish of fur and nothing else. She only stopped when she ran into a wall of fur.
Catching up to Tanya Stewart saw her sitting right next to a Thunderlord Zinogre that surprisingly not awake yet but seemed like it could at any sudden noise "Don't make any noise, back away very slooowly."
Tanya shaken by the urgency in Stewart's voice backed up slowly and stepped on a twig snapping it.
Hearing the twig snap Stewart sprang into action by racing towards the Zinogre shoving Tanya out of the way and placing a trap just as it was getting up, ensnaring it. Running away Stewart scooped up Tanya and tossed her into a small cave just big enough for a Palico before sliding into it himself. "What are you doing?" Tanya asked glaring at Stewart.
Pulling out a torch Stewart said "Saving our hides obviously." Then tossing his other Armour at her he sneered "Now put this on and I better not hear another word of complaint from you about being naked!"
"BuBububut." Tanya babbled while she put it on. "I'm even more naked than I was before see." She said putting her hand through her rib cage to emphasize her point.
"No, your technically not naked, because that is just the effects of the Armour." Stewart explained as Tanya put the helmet on still glaring at him. "I've faced down a Dalamandur that could swallow me whole and I'd barely be a snack to it, so your glares don't scare me kitten."
Tanya huffs in annoyance as she follows Stewart through the cave. "Do you even know where we're going?"
"I believe we're aboooouuut here." Stewart said pointing at a spot on the map in his hands.
"Where did that come from?" Tanya asked pointing at the map.
"This came from my pouch that all hunters are equipped with for various reasons." Stewart said before rummaging through his pouch again and pulling out a phone and dialed a number "Hey Claire, I'm headed towards base-camp with another refugee in tow."
"That's fine see you in a little bit." Claire answered before the connection was cut.
"-." Tanya sat there speechless before a shaking hand pointed at the device in his hand. "That's a phone."
"And what of it?" Stewart said as he stuffed it back into his pouch as he walked off.
"All electronics quit working when whatever happened happened." Tanya said running to catch up to Stewart.
"Thanks to my counterpart we were able to create countermeasures because Grimlock is a Shagaru Magala which has stronger effects than the Gore Magala. Which is the monster that caused all of this."
"I see." Tanya said.

"Grimlock quit trying to horn in on someone else's hunt and get over here!" Claire yelled at the man as Stewart and Tanya entered the cavern.
"It's not taking over, I'm their training aid!" Grimlock yelled back.
"What is going on in here!" Stewart shouted as he walked towards Claire.
"Three newbies are going out and your other half is insisting on going with them." Claire said sighing.
"Were they normal people recently turned monster hunters?" Stewart asked handing Tanya a tankard of mead which she looked at distrustfully before taking a sip which led to her guzzling it down till the tankard was empty.
"Yes they are." Claire said sighing.
"Need I say more on the subject or do you want me to continue on the subject of how the ecosystem is out of whack because of the sudden change in things." Stewart said pulling out his monster booklet.
Claire dragged her hands down her face in frustration before turning to look across the cavern. "Grimlock your trainees are waiting!"
"I thought you didn't want me going out with them just a few seconds ago." Grimlock huffed crossing his arms.
"Your other self convinced me otherwise!" Claire yelled.
"Oh hey Stewart!" Grimlock called giving a wave.
"Oh, one thing before you leave Grimlock, I spotted a Thunderlord Zinogre when I picked up her!" Stewart called pointing in Tanya's direction.
Putting his hand on his chin Grimlock grimaced. "Man the ecosystem is really out of wack if a Thunderlord Zinogre is in this environment."
"See ya later Grimlock!" Stewart called as Grimlock and his party left.
After leaving the cavern Grimlock's party headed into the forest looking for a fairly easy large monster.

Out of boredom Roy was looking at the map of his home world of Midgard and seeing similarities pulled out a map of Earth and laid them side by side. "I could swear my house was right here!" Pointing at a cluster of rocks and bushes before turning to another location "No, it was over here. Wait no it was over here. Ahhh I give up!" Roy tossed his hands in the air and dropping his maps.
"Uh sensei you ok?" A blue haired girl asked Roy
Putting his face in his hands he broke down in tears "No, I'm not okay! The things in that house were the only mementos of my family Aqua, and I can never get that back!"
The now named Aqua cocked her head in curiosity. "You do realized this is Earth not Midguard right?"
Still crying Roy bent down and picked up the maps "But places like Port Tanzia popped up so I was hoping that my place appeared as well."
"Yuki does that make sense?" Aqua asked the white haired girl next to her.
"Well it makes some sense." Yuki answered her shorter friend. "What do you think Ragna?"
"Due to Tanzia and it's residents appearing, I would say that it would be very possible that other places from Midgard would appear." Ragna said as he adjusted his glasses.
Putting his hand on Ragna's shoulder Roy wiped away his tears "I can't thank you enough for believing me." Then straightening Roy walked for a ways "Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place."
As Roy was staring off into the horizon Yuki noticed a Rajang sitting on a ledge eating what looked like the leg of a Blango. "Uh Sensei what's that?" Yuki asked as she fingered the sling holding her rifle on her shoulder.
"What?" Turning Roy noticed the creature and put out his arm and stage whispered "Everybody move in the opposite direction."
Roy and his three students started shuffling away when Aquas great sword hit a rock outcropping drawing the Rajang's attention. "Curse being short!" Aqua yelled as they took off running with the monster hot on their heals.
"Why do you insist upon using that blasted great sword of all weapons!" Roy shouted grabbing Aqua's sword and hefting her on his back as he tossed a smoke bomb.
"Because they're awesome!" Aqua yelled from his back. "Aaaah! Run faster!" she screamed from her sideways perch.
Just as the Rajang was about to catch up the giant tail of a Ashen Lao shun hit the Rajang as it stepped causing the group to lose their footing and fall off a cliff.
"Did anybody get the number of that Jaggi." Yuki mumbled into the floor from her position at the bottom of the pile.
Shoving the others off them Roy asked "Anyone hurt?"
"Glasses I need my glasses." Ragna said as he felt around on the floor.
Reaching towards Ragna Roy sighed "Your glasses are stuck in your horn."
"Why don't we just go out there kill that Lao shun and you eat the meat fixing your problem?" Yuki asked incredulously.
"We can't because you guys aren't experienced enough to help m-" Before he finished his thought he noticed a door in the side of the cliff "What is that doing there?" Roy asked as he walked towards the door.
"Uh sensei let me down. Please." Aqua begged.
"Oh sorry! I forgot you were there." Roy apoligized unstrapping her from his back.
"Sooooo we going to enter the creepy door of possible death or are we going to walk away?" Ragna asked holding his horn in front of him.
"Quit being dramatic." Yuki said smacking Ragna on the back of the head.
"But when something suddenly appears something bad happens, that and I was traumatized when I watched my first horror film at the age of eight." Ragna said shakily adjusting his glasses.
Aqua gave Ragna the flattest look that she could. "Resident Evil was not horror. Or are you remembering Rose Red?"
"Aliens is a horror film in my book!" Ragna answered deadpan.
"Those creatures are completely different compared to the Rajang that we were dealing with." Roy said facepalming in exasperation.
The arguing trio's heads snapped towards the creaking door as Aqua opened it and stuck her head in. "Looks alright to me." She said as Yuki ran to the door and looked over her shorter friends head.
As Yuki reached the door they heard "Rowrr!" Yuki fell backwards as a broom came out of nowhere and hit her in the face.
"I've faced a great Maccao so I at least have the ability to fight a newbie hunter turned burglar like you!" Shouted a fawn colored cat brandishing a broom.
"Mittens?" Roy asked in surprise.
"Roy?" The Palico asked cautiously taking a sniff before dropping her broom and launching herself at Roy. "Rooooyy!" She cried happily as she latched onto his torso.
"Your alive!" Roy shouted hugging his housekeeper.
"You know this Palico sensei?" Aqua asked Roy.
"Does he know me? Of course he knows me because I've been his housekeeper for a few years!" Mittens huffed.
"She is my family I guess you could say." as soon as he got done speaking a bell was heard before a Moofa jumped out "Fluffy!"
"A sheep." Yuki stated flatly before squealing. "You're so cute with your little hat and that little red vest." She gushed as she hugged the Moofa.
"That's Fluffy my pet Moofa and I'm still wondering why she's still small." Roy stated before he started grabbing things and stuffing them into his bag "I didn't know I still had this. I really need to get around to fixing this. Why do I even have this." At that last object he tossed it with said object hitting Yuki on the head to which she dropped Fluffy causing her to jump around knocking a box off a high shelf hitting Aqua on the head.
"Ooh what's this?" Aqua asked looking at the items that fell out of the box.
Seeing said object Roy bent down with a puzzled look on his face "I don't remember putting a box up there."
"Oooh shiny." Aqua said as she reached for the sea green orb causing Roy's eyes to widen in realization.
Realizing what that look meant "Everybody out!" Seeing that they wouldn't make it he grabbed Everyone and tossed them out the door then taking a defensive position expecting the worst.
"What's going on?" Yuki said picking herself off the ground.
Looking at the dust coming out of the door Ragna asked "What caused all the dust?"
"Wow your smaller than that species is normally." Muffins said looking up from her monster guide book.
Hacking up his lungs Roy waved his hand to clear the dust when he heard an annoyed roar as the interior creaked "You had to be the one that found your gem before you even killed your first monster didn't you?"
Walking back into the house Ragna saw the beast that was Aqua and stuttered "W-what happened to Aqua?"
Sighing Roy explained "She has found a dragonstone and turned into what is known as a Lunastra which is half the size it should be." Turning to the grumbling Aqua he chided. "Oh come on your size is translated to your form besides you're still my cute little Kouhai. Just please earn your dragons respect I don't want to have to kill you." Roy cautioned earning a questioning chirp from the lion like monster.
"Can she turn back into human or is she stuck like that?" Ragna asked as he wrote Aqua's measurement down.
"Yes you can but you have to remember what it felt like to transform then think of that but the opposite, think you can do that Aqua?" Aqua closed her ayes momentarily as she started shrinking. "Huh apparently you have to actually think about it to keep your clothes."
"Ragna look away." Yuki ordered covering Ragna's eyes.
As she shrank Roy pulled out a extra set of armor out of his bag then handing it to her and chuckled "Hey, at least you kept your sword."
"You're impossible." Aqua mumbled as she scurried into a little room at the back of the room.
"I will never understand how women think." Roy sighed while shaking his head before turning to the other two. "So who's hungry?"

"Ok Luna happy now?" Owen asked in mock anger. "You've given me two more reasons to go grey early." Holding his two new daughters.
"I have no Idea why that would be the case considering how cute our daughters are." Luna said accepting their twins from Owen.
Tsunami poked her head around the door jamb looking into the room. "Hey you want to meet your sisters?" Luna asked as Tsunami scurried behind Owen's leg. "Meet Haru and Honoka."
"Their so small." Tsunami commented as she moved in front of Owen.
"So were you at one point." Luna said amused. Tsunami's response was to pout and look away, causing Luna to laugh at the look. "You're so cute when you do that." She gushed resisting the urge to pinch her daughters cheeks as her arms were full. With a grin on his face Owen leaned in and kissed his wife before picking up Tsunami.
