Peyton awoke slowly. She untangled herself from Lucas.
She went into the bathroom. And went into the one of the cabinets.
Inside were pregnancy tests that had been purchased brand new.
Her and Lucas had been trying to get pregnant since they graduated college and moved back to Tree Hill.
With no success. Which was starting to put a strain on their long term relationship.
They had been to fertility doctors and they both had their own seperate fertility issues.
But at last she was pregnant. Carrying the baby of the man she loved more then life itself.
Peyton had to turn on the sink to contain her sobs of happiness.

"You've been single for awhile. What's that about Brookie.?" Peyton asked.
"I just haven't found the right guy. Work keeps me busy." Brooke replied. Desperate to change the subject.
"He's out of prison by now. I'm sick to my stomach just thinking about seeing him. He could of went anywhere in the world."
"Why did he have to come back to Tree Hill.?" Brooke questioned.
"I don't know. But you have enough going on."
Xzavier shouldn't be on you're mind anyway."
"I mean between work and our wedding. I'm sure Lucas takes up enough space in you're thoughts." Peyton said.
Brooke felt her mouth go dry.
"I hardly think about Lucas." Brooke said. Hating how easy it was to lie to her best friend.

"I knew it! I'm happy for you and Brooke." Nathan proclaimed. With a bright smile.
"We won the bet. But really Luke we want what's best for you and Brooke." Skills added in.
"All we have is now. If those letters meant anything to you."
"You have to tell Brooke." Mouth insisted.
The lifelong friends were crowded around at the River Court. Under the glow of the street lights.
"Peyton and I are engaged! That matters more then some letters from someone who claims our first and only kiss meant nothing!" Lucas exclaimed.

"Brooke please tell me Rachel is wrong and you are going to the wedding with someone.?"
"You can't still have this lingering crush on Lucas right.?" Haley questioned.
Her eyes going wide at the sight of Peyton.
"I thought you were alone." Haley adds in.
Brooke felt Peyton's gaze burning into her.
"I have last minute things to get done. I'll see you later Haley." Peyton announced.
