The Miko's Stone-Age Adventure

Kagome graduated high school at age 18, after adjusting to normal life once more after a hectic middle school life.

Hectic, is an understatement.

To not be a deadweight to her friends, she mastered fire-building and survival skills. Took workshops every summer and winter in various places to learn how to weave anything weavable, make handicrafts for survival and making stuff necessary for life's comforts. Her body is honed by traveling and battle and a master archer herself, but her issue was movement skills Sango and Miroku have which she worked hard on, and studied herbal medicine.

She felt her journey with Shikon no Tama and Naraku would take years, thus began to study.

She just never dreamed it'll all end while she's still a junior high student though!

But hey it works.

When the well closed, she was depressed as she could never be with her friends again. But her true identity as a modern human must be prioritized.

School.

Getting accepted into a good college.

Getting a high-paying job like mama's.

Those three are her top concerns now!

In fact, Modern Day Japan is more ruthless than Sengoku Jidai!

You need to be a high-level graduate just to have a decent life in Japan where everything is expensive.

You'd also be an IDIOT to marry young in Japan. Marriage Age is 30 at the earliest, to be sure you earned enough money for that sort of thing so in one's twenties, you'd be engaged. The smart ones marry late to afford marriage, and its expensive raising babies more than raising potty-trained toddlers, plus vaccinations. Then school!

She made it, graduating with a good report card enough to get her accepted in a course that will net her big income in her future.

After singing the graduation song, she left school with her family who attended her Graduation Ceremony. It was the day after Souta's graduation from elementary.

'Good job you two!' Mama chimed. 'Where do you kids want to eat today? Let's eat out!'

'I wanna try eating in a specialty place!' Souta piped up. 'Fast Food is so boring we have it every day!'

'Specialty Restaurants it is!' Mama smiled. 'The problem is, which one~' she took out her smartphone, and began surfing the net for a place that's within affordability. But suddenly, the sky went green on them.

'Mom!' Kagome cried in alarm as they looked at the sky that went green on them.

'It must be a demon attack!' Grandpa cried in alarm. 'Kagome, use your powers!'

Kagome prioritized her family over a bunch of strangers, going all out with her powers to put her family in a barrier attached to her so no matter what happens, nothing will hurt her and her family...as everyone suddenly turned to stone.

"Who did this?! Who turned everyone into stone?!" Kagome was horrified, while conscious within her petrified state.

She is still alive. Well, her soul and consciousness, that is. But everything's dark and she can't feel anything.

All she could do, was wait for help from a kind youkai who'd take pity on them, if any.

Time passed by.

Kagome had no sense of time. In her state, she thought minutes passed by or hours...

But suddenly, there's...light.

And cracking sounds.

She could move again?

She could feel again?

She felt like she was wrapped in a damn rock, like someone poured concrete on her. She burst her way out and she was...butt-naked. And alone in a freaking jungle with stone statues of her family nearby and whole, due to her protection. And winter clearly just ended, as snow was halfway gone.

'...with men nearby, I should make clothing first.' Kagome blushed hard, thinking of her petrified grandfather and brother. Years being a stone statue definitely made her lose some weight, as she looked very slim now, that what remained, are her hard-earned muscles due to her double-life. Her skin is also smooth and free of blemishes and she wondered what ELSE. But she definitely feels great inside! Her scar no thanks to Mistress Centipede, is gone!

Nevermind that now, IT'S DAMN COLD!

'Hibernating season is almost over, now would be ideal to make clothes out of sleepy animals,' she thought as she roamed around. Most animals in Japan don't hibernate. Very few do. She felt today might be end of February to Early March as snow still thaws, so she began carving the days the primitive way.

But first, stone tools!

It annoys her that while she takes her sweet-ass time making tools, the prey are getting stronger when she wants them sluggish to be easy catch.

But she has no choice does she?

Tools are everything. You can't do a thing without even the most basics of tools!

She made a sewing set, then stone spears and axes, and stuff she needs to build a shelter.

She occasionally takes breaks to look for food while using miko-ki to keep her cells energized so she won't physically-age as she works for survival. She knows this will take her a long time. Luckily they were near a river which means...spawning season. Besides, she can eat sashimi, she's Japanese! She can survive on Sashimi and fruit for a while or mushrooms if she was that lucky, as well as other edibles.

But as she drank water, she saw on the reflection that she has black marks on her skin that looked like cracks. She has a mark on her chest as if someone threw a rock hard enough at a window to make it crack.

Using her miko magic, she can differentiate lookalikes in which ones are OK and which ones are not, and discovered new species of edibles she took home for planting and growing.

But by sheer dumb luck, she and her family got washed up into a place rich with clothing material. A lot of Hemp, in particular. But not old enough for use, that she relied on her miko-ki to stay warm, while working naked. She isn't embarrassed nor self conscious as hello, NOBODY IS AROUND?!

She made tools while waiting for this...thankfully out-of-season hemp to grow to a length enough to be of use.

She foraged and hunted, and created and built, and saw human statues around. Tools, Cooking Pit and Oven, and a Shelter. She also stored seeds which she can use for sustainable sustenance, and grew them with magic of miko-ki. Miko-ki is life-giving and purifying energy so their kind can only be healers and exorcists. She grew mushrooms, medicinal herbs that were nearby her territory, and fruit trees with great control, planting food alongside the river for easy farming...

Then she realized something she's annoyed at herself for.

She realized how stupid she was and failed to think creatively she banged her head on a nearby tree trunk, and grew the hemp as much as she wanted for clothes, ropes, bandages, a makeshift tampon and string. With the loom she made, she began weaving cloth and spun thread to make underwear, zori and kimono.

Not far from them is a river where there's plenty of clay.

Pottery Stuff!

She was able to build a primitive hut lined up with clay and made in a way that there's insulation so they're cozy no matter the season. Too bad there's no certain grass for roofing, but oh well. As long as they have shelter, she has no complaints. Besides, her wooden hut is lined with clay!

She made a crude wall lamp filled with oil made from hemp seeds. It helps that hemp oil is also medicinal and antibacterial.

Food and water pretty-much solved. Her family just needs to learn that pickiness is not allowed any more. Sure things are bland, but what matters now, is full stomachs!

She then crafted a wooden wagon. Took her hard work. A wagon where she stuffed all her resources, tools and equipment in, baskets containing her stocked-up food and her family's statues, as well as seeds of all she needed to start anew elsewhere!

Their location, is not ideal for winter. At all. She only has flora as food and fish is hard to come by. She needs more resources to eke a decent living somehow. She understandably, gets weary of nothing but mushroom and fruit. Fish is a luxury item by standards.

More seeds of food, and a place where meat is plenty!

She followed the river downstream, and found herself in a certain place where there's...the ocean. It's only an hour away! No need to move in the end! It seems she can go back to where she started, and use her powers with impunity to feed herself mushrooms, fruits and the occasional sluggish animal.

For the rest of the year as she built home comforts and better tools and goods...a year passed by. Winter included. Thanks to her insulated hut and hemp clothes and her powers, she got by with a full stomach every day. She keeps herself busy by making more resources to stave off loneliness too.

'Humm...plenty of material here.' Kagome smiled. 'I can plant everything in a certain order so nobody suspects a thing while helping out in food incase there are other survivors and I can fish here, not to mention salt for flavoring bland food...'

She began building a new hut into the forest to make a smokehouse for seafood preservation...and all her work attracted company.
