authors note : Thank you for the ongoing support. Stay tuned my readers.

Wrecked my life.

Don't tell me i've never done the hard stuff.

I've done love.

Brooke had been home from the hospital for a few days now. And did end up going to stay with Lucas at his place.

Her house was filled with nothing but negative thoughts and energy. She planned to sell it at some point.

But in the mean time. Lucas filled in the friendgroup over Peyton's involvement in the attack.

Once Xzavier's body was found. And that made the news. Lucas knew that was Peyton too.

He had been glued to Brooke's side. Ever since he took her home.

It was only this morning after much instance did Lucas agree to go back to work.

He kept to his word and had a security system put in.

Brooke had full view of the entry way with a front door camera.

Anyone that wanted to stop by had a key and gave a Brooke a call or text first.

"Look at you Tigger. Resting and relaxing. As you should be." Haley said. As she entered the home.

"I wasn't sure if Lucas could be trusted given his Peyton involvement but he's doing everything possible to keep you safe."

"So i need to give him a break." Rachel proclaimed.

"We just stopped by to check in. See if you needed anything." Haley said.

Brooke pur down her magazines and looked to them.

"I'm recovering and getting stronger by the day."

"I know Lucas sent the both of you to keep me company. Until he gets home from work."

"Since it is just the two of you. There has been a big change."

"Between me and Lucas."

"He told me he's in love with me." Brooke admitted.

A bright smile went across Rachel's face.

"You've been waiting years for that. I'm happy for you." Rachel replied.

"The two of you deserve this. Alot has happened."

"Peyton never deserved his love or loyalty."

"The two of you just work." Haley added in.

"We aren't a couple officially yet." Brooke replied.

Sometime Later

Lucas walked into the home with a smile on his face.

"You're going to regret telling me to make myself at home."

"This place will get the Brooke Davis treatment and never be the same." Brooke proclaimed.

"I don't mind it. Especially if it means you'll be sticking around." Lucas replied.

"I will. You were kind enough to offer me a place to stay."

"I made one of the few dishes you're mom was able to teach me to cook. That stuck. Comfort food is a must." Brooke proclaimed.

Lucas followed her into the kitchen. He was relieved to see she was in more upbeat spirits then how he left her hours earlier.

Brooke was starting to feel more like herself.

Her friends had brought over various clothes and other items from her house. She had changed into one of her favorite outfits.

And stuffed the rest of her luggage into the guest room.

Lucas sat down across from her in the kitchen.

They ate in a comfortable silence. Once they were finished.

Lucas focused on Brooke. When they moved into backyard. Which was fenced in.

Taking in the sunset.

"We need to talk." Lucas said.

"I'm listening." Brooke replied.

Feeling body against the lawn chair.

"Why don't you want to be a couple.?" Lucas asked.

Brooke looked to him. Sighing deeply.

"You didn't break up with Peyton. The two of you ended."

"You were with her since high school. Feelings don't just diseapper overnight. I've wanted to be a couple for so long. But i never thought it would happen so i let it go."

"I never planned to reveal my feelings to you." Brooke admitted.

"I'm glad you did. Even if you were drunk."

"Peyton and I are over. I have no feelings for her. Nothing romantic."

"No pity. Whatever happens next is consequences for her own actions."

"You can trust me with you're heart. And anything else you are willing to share with me." Lucas stated matter of fact.

"I love you and want to take this at you're pace." He added in.

Brooke leaned over kissing him gently.

Lucas kissed her back. Caressing her face gently.

The stayed entanged together.

Lucas pulling her into his lap.

Pulling her closer.

The two found themselves back inside.

Brooke broke the kiss. Once she felt him lay her against the wall in the hallway.

"We should stop before things anymore heated."

"I need to talk to you." Brooke explained.

Lucas caught his breath and focused on her.

"I'm a virgin. I'm picky with who i date. I never wanted to just get it over with. I wanted to wait. To be in love."

"But at this point. With everything going on."

"I'm not in the right emotional/mental head space."

"I'm jumpy. Nervous. I feel like i'm being watched."

"I'm not ready. And if that's a deal breaker. I get it." Brooke added in.

...

Larry Sawyer was out at sea for months at a time. On the few weeks or days he had off. He stayed to himself and didn't follow current events.

So when he got that call from his only daughter in pure distress. He demanded to see proof as to why she was being held and when the police officers had nothing but a voicemail and accounts from a dead criminal and Lucas Scott.

Who had abandoned his daughter. He believed none of it. What she was being accused of he refused to believe it.

And got her removed from that holding cell and into his custody.

"I know Peyton. You are deserving of so much more understanding. Love and support."

"Especially from you're so called friends." Larry proclaimed.

"I have you daddy. I can figure out the rest." Peyton said.
