Invisible String

Chapter 19

Authors note : Thank you my readers. Let me know what you think.?

Brooke and Lucas spent the remainder of the weekend in New York never leaving each other's sides for long.

Brooke loved watching her man do what he was meant to do. She got to cheer him on. See him in his element.

She couldn't of been more proud or happy for him.

In her eyes he career was finally in a stable place.

Once the business stuff was taken care of for Lucas.

The pair enjoyed the fun and entertainment. New York had to offer.

"Show me you're New York." Lucas whispered. When the two were in the car alone again. Without his writing team nearby.

Central Park. A Broadway show. As much adventure as Brooke could squeeze into two days was done.

On their way back to Tree Hill. The two were more in love then ever before.

"I want u to start looking for our dream home. Is it too soon.?" Lucas suggested. As they left the airport.

Avoiding the flashing lights of cameras and reporters asking questions.

Before getting safely into Lucas's car. Brooke settled into the passenger seat. Put her purse in the backseat.

"I say lets plan our wedding first. Figure out where and how long we're honeymooning for then focus solely on figuring out where we're going to live." Brooke replied.

"Can i be honest with you.?" Lucas asked.

"Of course. We're getting married afterall." Brooke replied.

"I think home is wherever you are. And i know how much you love you're house with red door. We could be happy there."

"I could picture us building a beautiful life. Making it a real home." Lucas proclaimed.

Brooke leaned over and kissed him quickly. "I can't wait. The sooner i marry you the better." She replied.

It wasn't until Lucas returned home did he feel light and hopeful for the future.

In a way he hadn't felt in years. Things were going to work out for the better. Brooke was it for him. His soul mate.

...

Brooke was practically floating as she entered her home. And went upstairs to unpack her luggage.

Lucas was the one for her. She no longer had to question or hide how much she loved and suppported this man she had known for so long.

She was in love. Fully and all consuming. Safe and securely so.

She was ready to marry Lucas. To make love for the first time.

Life had never been better. Lucas had her heart and soul.

...

Days Later

Larry Sawyer had spent days. Not sleeping. Going to the police.

In need of information on his daughter and the now dead criminal Xzavier Daniels.

Larry was sickened to find out that Peyton had been behind Brooke's attack. Once he found out more details about where and how Xzavier was found.

He knew Peyton had a hand in it. Plus her car was damaged in the front from the hit.

Larry had been in denial about Peyton's arrest and her possible criminal involvement.

Simply because Peyton was all he had left in the world.

But at this point. He couldn't deny it.

Peyton was no innocent party here. She was guilty.

"What are you doing in my room.?" Peyton asked.

Unsure what her father was doing here.

"I know that attack on Brooke was because of you. You killed Xzavier. Lucas moved on. He let you go. And instead of healing and moving on. You hurt people."

"Why Peyton. I need to know why.?" Larry questioned.

The expression on Peyton's face went blank as she spoke.

"Brooke has been the one everyone wanted. She stole him from me!"

"I can't believe you're taking her side! You're my dad!"

"You're supposed to love and support me!" Peyton yelled.

The expression on Larry's face softened.

"I do love you Peyton. You're my little girl."

"I can't let you get away with anymore crimes."

"Anna and Ellie wouldn't forgive me if they were alive."

"I couldn't live with myself."

"You're not okay Peyton."

"You need help. Real mental health. And i promise to be there with you as much as i can through this." Larry proclaimed.

He moved aside as mental health facilty workers.

Entered the bedroom and grabbed ahold of Peyton.

Injecting her with medication to calm her. As she was taken out of the home. And put into a transportation van headed towards a mental health facility out of town.

What no one knew besides Peyton Larry Anna and Ellie.

Was that Peyton's biological father struggled for years with mental health issues he never properly dealt with instead he drank to avoid it all.

Peyton inherited his mental issues and dealt with it through drug use. When Larry was no longer able to stay in town and keep her medicated. Which was around high school.

Peyton's breaks from reality caused so much chaos and pain.

It had to end. He would make sure of that now.
