Six months later

"Are you in any pain?" Itachi asks as he continues my check-up. He flashes a light in my eye.

"No"

"Can you move your legs?" I look down at my legs and attempt to raise them but I don't get very far.

"You might need to go through physical therapy"

Physical therapy?

"Do you feel all your senses? Smell, taste, touch, hearing, vision?"

"Y-Yes, I think so"

"Any headaches?"

"No"

"Have you eaten anything?"

"I'm not hungry"

He turns to the nurse in the room. "Can you go get Ms. Hyuga a meal tray please?" she nods her head and leaves the room.

"Eating for the first time might be difficult since you haven't eaten anything except through a tube in six months. But over time it will get better" he says as he writes down some notes on his clipboard.

Six months. I've been asleep for six months. It doesn't feel real to me.

"Your body might feel weak for a while. That is expected. When you are done eating I will come back and take you to get an MRI and CT scan."

This doesn't feel real to me. I look around my hospital room. I notice all the get well packages and fresh flowers. This is real. I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder. I look up at Itachi.

"I know this can feel overwhelming. But don't worry I'll make sure your back to your old self soon."

"Thank you, Itachi. I'm happy that you are my doctor." He smiles and walks toward the door.

"I better go now. You have a visitor that has been dying to see you" he says simply and leaves the room. Immediately the door bursts open again.

"Hinata!" Hanabi screams and launches herself into bed with me. I laugh and embrace her. She hugs me back tightly.

"I'm so happy that your okay" she buries her face in my chest.

"I'm okay Hanabi"

"I thought I was never gonna see you awake again" she whispers I notice the tears in her eyes. "I was so scared." I begin to pet her hair gently.

"Its all gonna be okay now Hanabi. I'm back now."

"So let me get this straight. Your girl has been in a coma for six months and for the past six months you've been trying to get this guy-"

"Her husband"

"Her husband? Okay yeah her husband arrested for beating her into a coma and now she is finally awake and instead of running to see her like you should your here getting drunk with me"

"What's your point Kakashi?"

"Don't you see how ridiculous this sounds? If I were you I would go buy some flowers and chocolates and go see her"

I sigh, "I can't just go see her."

"Why not?"

"Well... All of her family is probably there"

"That's it? That's why?"

I look down at the glass. It's empty. I reach over to the bottle of expensive whiskey and pour out the rest of the liquid. I throw the empty bottle to the side and drink. I finish my drink and slam the empty cup on the table.

"You wanna know why I don't wanna go there?" A hiccup escapes my mouth.

"Why?"

"How can I show my face there when I haven't even gotten Naruto arrested? How can I tell her that I couldn't put her attacker behind bars?"

"I think that's a heavyweight to put on yourself Sasuke" I turn to Kakashi.

"I learned from the years I was a detective. Sometimes the bad guys getaway and you can't save the world no matter how much you want to. You can kick and scream even bleed for justice but sometimes you still lose to the wickedness. A fight as old as time."

"Then what's the point to it? To fight for good if the bad always wins?"

"The bad doesn't always win Sasuke. There's honor in fighting for what's right. For every battle they win we come back stronger than before and we don't stop trying. I have hope that one day this world will have more good than bad."

I sit down at the table. As I do Sakura sets down my dinner plate as well as hers. She lights the two candles on the table and sits down. I pour us both a glass of red wine. Sakura picks up the bottle of red wine and looks at it.

"Chateau Petrus looks expensive"

"It is," I say as I hand her wine glass.

She smiles at me, "What do we owe the pleasure to?"

I smile back at her, "A toast to us" we clink our glasses together.

"May nothing ever stop us. Not even death" she adds.

We both drink and begin to eat the meal she prepared.

"I had a phone call with Hiashi Hyuga earlier."

"And what did lord Hyuga have to say?" she says sarcastically.

"Hinata woke up today"

She slams her fork down. "What did you just say?"

I pick up my wine glass and take a sip. "Hinata is awake."

"Why are you acting so calm? This can ruin everything."

"She doesn't remember anything Sakura"

"That doesn't mean she won't remember later on"

I reach out my hand and grab hers in mine. "Don't worry about Hinata or the Hyuga's. I'm not scared of them"

"You should be Naruto. You know what they are capable of"

"I have a plan"

"What plan?"

"I'm going to go to Hinata and find out exactly what she remembers. If she doesn't remember anything then we don't have anything to worry about"

"That's it? That's your plan? If the Hyuga's don't kill you on sight then the police are going to arrest you Naruto"

I slam my fist on the table. "The police don't know anything, remember?"

"..."

I watch as Sakura suddenly shuts up. This is not like her. There's something wrong.

"Sakura?"

She avoids eye contact with me.

"What did you do Sakura?"

She finally looks up at me. "I did what I had to do Naruto"

I stand up suddenly and reach my hand out to her throat. With a tight grip, she tries to pull it off. "What did you do Sakura?"

Tears begin to gather in her eyes. I let her go and she starts to gasp for air.

"What did you do?!" I yell in a fit of rage.

Before she has a chance to answer there is a loud pounding on the front door. I leave Sakura and walk to the door. I open it and am immediately pushed to the side and the room becomes filled with police officers.

Shit. Are they here for me? I watch them go deeper into the house. I try to follow them but am pushed back by someone. I look at the person. He looks familiar.

"Not so fast Naruto"

"Who the hell are you? Why are you here?"

Are they gonna arrest me?

"I'm Suigetsu and I know all about you Naruto Uzumaki"

Before I have the chance to respond I see the police officers bring back Sakura. In front of me, they arrest her. I try to stop them but again Suigetsu holds me back.

"Why is she being arrested?"

"For the attempted murder of Hinata Hyuga"

I am speechless. I watch as they begin to drag Sakura outside in handcuffs. I snap out of it and try to go after her. But they won't let me.

"Sakura! Sakura don't say anything! I'll be right there!"

She turns back to me, tears still in her eyes. She says something but I can't hear her. They put her in the back of the squad car and drive away. I turn to Suigetsu.

He smiles at me, "you better get ready Naruto because your next."
