Callie POV
No matter how hard I tried to force myself to sleep last night. My mind was on one thing. Arizona. The race didn't matter to me. I knew I'd win no matter what. What was bothering me was, I wasn't sure I would see her again. I mean I couldn't blame her if she did leave me after all I did it to her all those years ago. So I'm not gonna say I'm not surprised Arizona didn't come to my pit box and even though I wished she showed up, I had a feeling she wouldn't.
Pulling up to the starting line, I met with my opponents. I take a deep breath and center myself. I hear the announcer and we all rev our engines. "On your Mark...get set..go!" And the siren goes off and we take off...
Arizona POV
"Arizona I can't believe you didn't make use of those passes."
"April you paid for these seats. So we are gonna use them."
April points to where Callie's team is located and I can see she's looking around. I'm sure she's not looking for me. Why would she? She's probably thinking about what she's gonna do tonight to celebrate her win. Yes I'll admit it. I know she's gonna win. She always does. Just like how she won my heart all those years ago.
"Zona, we don't need to be here. We can go. I'm sure this isn't easy for you one bit."
And she's right. Nothing about this is easy. It will never be easy. But I even though I should keep my heart safe and just walk away I can't. I want her.
I hear the announcer go off and I see all the racers take off.
"Come let's go."
April stands up and follows me through the crowd and down the stadium. "Where are we going?"
"Use those passes." I smirked.
Walking up to security I'm met with huge guards, and they open the gate not even asking for our passes.
"Umm do you just let people in?"
"No we don't. But we were told early this morning from Torres' manager that her girlfriend would be coming though."
"So you just remember my face?" I asked confused.
"Yes. Especially if your apart of Torres'."
"I'm not apart of her!" I snapped. Not anymore.
"Sorry, ma'am. But you can go in. We don't mean to upset you and take these earmuffs."
"No, I'm sorry, I was just shocked you knew me. Anyways thank you." I say grabbing the earmuffs and quickly walking to Callie's team. Torres' girl. Love the sound of it, but no ways would I admit that.
Walking up to her pit, I hear Mark. "Looks like someone slept in."
"Yes, I did. Thank you Mark. Also can you not tell people that I'm Callie girlfriend, cause I'm not." I say walking away so I can watch Callie closer. Even though I didn't sleep an ounce. Being a doctor I'm so used to running off of no sleep.
"I see it now." He yells.
"What was that?"
"Nothing. Let's go watch your girl."
"She's not-"
"I know, you're just to easy." He chuckled.
A few minutes later, Callie pulls up for a quick pit stop and get her tires changed. She doesn't get out of the car. And I don't go up to her. She needs to stay focus. Quickly she speeds off and gets back into the race.
Being live at the race is a completely different experience than watching through the tv screen. They make it look so easy, but right now Callie is keeping a good pace. At least that's what her team keeps saying.
Finally on the last 20 laps, you can feel the excitement in the crowd. We are getting closer to the end. Callie is in the top 5. It's a little hard to tell who might take it. There all up an up.
"Come on Torres! Bring the heat.." Some ginger haired guy screamed.
"Come on Callie!!!" April screamed. I can't help but join in on the cheering.
Callie POV.
I had that feeling again. I knew she was here. Once I pulled up to the pit the first time to change my tires. I saw her. As bad as I wanted to get out the car, and hug her. I didn't. I had a job to finish first. I would be lying if I said now that I know she's watching me, i put a little more effort in my driving.
Coming up on the last lap, I can see O'Malley in my peripheral vision. And no way in hell am I letting him win. He tries to past Yang. "Bring it on bitch." Yang blocks him from trying. I floor it and make it past the finish line. Taking First.
"There you have it folks! Callie Tornado Torres! Takes first place!!!!" The announcer yells.
"I did it. I fucking did it." I whispered to myself in disbelief.
I take a few more laps slowing my car down and I jump out my window and run to my crew. I run and jump into Mark's arm.
"You did it Torres! You fucking won! Only one more and the championship is yours!!"
Hopping out of his arms, my team and I make our way to the podium, and collect my award.
As they hand me the first place trophy, "Callie Torres, how does it feel winning the semi's?"
"I don't feel like I won. One more race and I'll tell you what it feels like to be a real Champion." I say matter of factly, but inside I'm over the moon about it.
Walking off the stage, I hear her.
"Wow, very stoic answer."
I turn around and she's leaning against the stairs with her arms cross, pushing up her amazing cleavage.
"You think so?" I say trying not to stare at her chest.
"Yes, very humble of you." Arizona smirked knowing she caught me.
Being this close to her, and being high off of winning, I can't help but grab her hand and pull her into me.
"Woah. What are you doing?" She whispered.
I don't answer her, instead I kiss her with everything in me. Instantly Arizona responds and kisses me back. All of a sudden I hear a few cameras clicking.
"Who is that?" I hear a paparazzi yell.
"Is that your girlfriend?"
We jump apart only for a second and the next thing I do is take her hand and lead her to my trailer. Slamming the door, Arizona walks inside and sits down. Then she stands up and starts pacing
"Callie, are they gonna post that picture of us?"
"Probably." I answer her.
"Probably? They can't post that."
"Why not? Who cares?"
"I care Callie. I own my own practice. I can't have my patients know that.."
"That what?" I snapped. Why is she freaking out so much? It's not a big deal. It's just a kiss. "That your slumming it with me."
"No Callie, that's not it." Arizona said.
"Then what is it?"
"I'm sure they know who I am by now. I can't have the press show up to my office. You know what that can do to my patients. They won't trust me."
Honestly that never crossed my mind. "Oh." I whispered.
"Oh!? She says looking in my eyes. "That's all you can say."
"Don't worry about it. I'll take care of it. Nobody is gonna know it's you. I'll have Mark fix it." I say taking off my race suit top. Only to be left in my tank top and race pants.
Arizona rolls her eyes and takes a seat on the couch "Really just like that? You got it?"
I take the seat next to her and I look into her beautiful blue eyes. "Of course. I do. Don't you know who I am?"
"No, I don't...tell me." She whispered, challenging me.
Taking a chance, cause this could go either way. Either she'll snap at me and lose it. Or she could feel what I'm feeling and want me like how I want her.
Getting on my knees, I pull her legs apart and slide in between. Arizona's eyes go wide not expecting me to do that. Arizona fully sits up, I grab her by her hips, and pull her against my body. My lips go to her neck, and I start kissing my way up to her ear.
"I want you Arizona." I moaned.
"Yes, I want you too." Arizona says rolling her hips against my cock.
Our lips meet and she slides her tongue against my lips and I grant her access. She slowly lifts my tank up and I'm left in my sports bra.
"My goodness you're so fucking hot, and... hard everywhere." She whispered grabbing my cock through my pants. Kissing my way up her exquisite jawline, she pulls away and pushes me to the side "Wait.. wait." She says standing up.
"What? What's wrong?"
"You said that I was slumming it with you."
"Huh?" I say lost and horny at the same time.
"What does that mean, that I'm slumming it with you!?"
"Arizona.." I whispered rubbing the back of my head. Not wanting to argue about this.
"Why did you say that?"
Nothing I don't answer her. But Arizona being Arizona presses on.
"Tell me now Callie! Why did you say that!?"
"Because you are. You deserve better than me!" I say standing to my feet.
Arizona looks at me, like I just slapped her. She does this thing I've never seen her do before. It happened so fast, that if I didn't know her, i would've missed it.
Arizona POV
I can't believe it. Even after all these years, she still tries to take the easy way out, and use that bullshit excuse that I deserve better and how she's not worth it. Knowing that if I don't leave her now, history will just be repeating itself. I reign in the doctor in me and prepare myself to be level headed and calm.
Picking up my bag, I walk to the door.
"Where are you going?" Callie whispered.
"I'm going back to my hotel room. I need to pack and get ready. I'm leaving first thing tomorrow."
"So it's just like that!?"
"Yes. It is just like that. When I wake up on Monday. I'll be Dr. Robbins, and when you wake up you'll be Callie 'Tornado Torres'. Two strangers who were once best friends."
"Arizona. Please."
"Please? Please what Callie!?" Arizona says furiously. "What do you want?"
"Ari-"
"No seriously? Let's lay it all out there. We come from two different worlds. It could never work. You live in Oregon and I live in Seattle. So please tell me-"
"If you let me ta-"
Throwing my hands up in the air. "No I don't want you to talk. I can't handle you talking to me anymore. We already have such a complicated past. And it's not like you want me. You keep telling me that I'm slumming it with you. Do you not realize we come from the same fucking town, grew up in the same fucking hell. And yet you still think I'm slumming it with you? You are something else Calliope Torres!"
"Arizona.."
"Congratulations on today. You really did amazing. I hope you truly know that you deserve to win. Not only in your line of work, but in your personal life too. It was nice seeing you.. again. Take care."
Nothing. Silence. I can feel it happening again. My heart being torn to shreds. Cause no matter how much she thinks she wants me. If she truly knew. She would hate me for the rest of her life.
With that being said, I open her trailer door, and I walk away and take a cab back to the hotel. I don't even say a thing to April. I'll let her enjoy her last night.
Callie POV
I can't imagine how she felt like when I walked away and never came back. At least I have the luxury of her saying good bye. I take a few minutes to gather myself because even though what just happened killed me. I still need to celebrate. I owe that to my crew. They worked so hard.
I take a quick shower in my trailer, and make my way to the limo. Inside Mark is waiting for me. He doesn't mention anything, and for that I am thankful. Looking out the window my mind goes back to Arizona.
"You know we can just kick everyone out."
"Huh?"
"Tonight if you ain't up to it. We will understand."
"Mark, I'm good. But do me a favor."
"What's that?"
"Make sure Arizona picture doesn't surface anywhere."
"On it boss." He says and starts texting on his phone.
Taking the elevator to my suite, I'm met with so much people. "Fuck it." I whispered. I grab a bottle of some expensive scotch. Shot after shot I can feel myself getting more and more mad with myself.
When I take the corner, April is sitting on Jackson's lap. Walking up to them, i decide to sit on the coffee table in front of them.
"How is she?"
"Arizona?" April asked confused.
"Yes? How is she? Is she an amazing doctor?"
I'm not sure what it is but April can tell I'm truly interested so she stands up from Jackson's lap and sits next to me.
"Arizona is an amazing doctor. She's the best on the west coast. People all over the world fly in just for a consult."
"You know, for some reason, I already knew she would be."
"Callie. I don't what happened between you and Arizona, but Arizona has been my best friend for almost a decade now, and up until yesterday that's the first time I heard her speak your name."
"What are you saying?" I asked confused.
"I'm saying you must've meant a lot to her that she never wanted to speak about you. But it doesn't seem like she means anything to you."
"Excuse me."
"Look I'm gonna protect my best friend regardless of who you are. And I think you need someone to be honest with you."
"You don't know anything about what happened to us."
"You're right I don't, but I do know what she was like after you. Granted I didn't know it was you. I just knew someone broke her, and the fact that you didn't look her up, speaks volumes."
I sit there and take everything in. And she's right.
"It hurts." I whispered.
April taps my shoulder and stands up. "I'm sure it does, but you're talking to the wrong person."
"Huh?"
"Room 7209."
Arizona POV
Sitting down on the balcony, I exhale a big cloud of smoke. Looking into the city lights.
All of a sudden, I hear a pounding on the door. I hope it's not hotel staff coming to scold me that I broke the law for smoking in these stupid hotel rooms. So I quickly kill my cigarette, and walk to the door. Then I look at April's side and I see her key for the room.
"April, did you forget your keys?"
Wiping it open, I see her.
"Calliope?" I whispered.
