"I love you, but you're really fucking annoying," Lucius muttered as he swept a pile of parchment off the corner of the kitchen table.
"I love you too," Luna replied, looking up from the map she'd been studying. "And how much do you love me?" she asked, giving him a wide eyed hopeful look. Lucius sat down in the spot he'd just cleared.
"Enough to fund whatever it is you're up to this time, just as long as it does not involve being somewhere during the monsoon season. It took me hours to get my hair back to normal," Lucius stated, shaking his head which caused his long white blond hair to sweep against his gunmetal grey button down silk shirt.
"No monsoons," she promised with a laugh. "How do you feel about deserts?"
"Hot, dry, and too much sand," Lucius answered.
"You don't have to go, you know that."
"I do, and I do not wish for you to go unaccompanied. Some of these places can be dangerous."
"I wouldn't go alone, Lucius! Besides, we both know I can protect myself. I wasn't the one who got caught in a swarm of giant mosquitoes."
"I thought we weren't going to bring that up," Lucius muttered. Luna just flashed him her usual smile.
"I forgot. If you really want to make sure I'm perfectly safe, you could always hire someone you trust to accompany me. I do believe Gringotts is planning something in the same general area. I could arrange to go at the same time?" Luna suggested, knowing exactly what Lucius would say.
"I'll go, if only because I don't trust those curse breakers," he grumbled. Luna rose from her seat and walked over to him, putting her hand on his chin and tilting his face up. His eyes met hers.
"And that's one of the many reasons I love you," she laughed, giving him a quick kiss.
"You love me because I'm a jealous old man?" he asked, kissing her back. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to him.
"Because you care, even if you have a strange way of showing it. By the way, if we stay at the Redstone Resort, it'll be near enough where I want to explore, and they have a full spa," she added, summoning the parchment she'd been staring at. Lucius looked at it, a smile crossing his face. Facials, massages, and the whole spa treatment was much more his cup of tea than trekking across a sandy hot wasteland looking for some creature.
"I'll book it then, when are we going?"
"August, middle of the month, around the full moon if possible," Luna answered, giving him another quick kiss. "I've got to get to work, I'll see you later," she said, slipping from Lucius' arms and heading to the floo. Lucius smiled as he heard her leave. She was annoying, with her endless expeditions to some of the craziest places he'd ever been, but he loved her and wouldn't have her any other way.
