Warren's Pov

Warren was sat at the bar enjoying her drink when the door suddenly opened and Forman stumbled through it. He was as white as a sheet and he looked ill.

"You ok, forman?" The bartender asked when he came forward and rested his hands on the bar "You don't look so good...you bleeding?"

"I'm more than bleeding you idiot. I'm bit!" Forman snarled "Some zombie- looking mother bit me!" He said downing the contents of the glass in front of him in one. Warren turned her head slightly when she heard this to get a look at the man.

"If it was a zombie , you'd have turned" The bartender said and Forman just pulled down the collar of his top and coat to reveal the bit which was still oozing blood.

"I don't know what he was, but he wasn't right! He's like some kind of animal or something and there was a girl with him protecting that thing!" Forman said walking over to some guys sat at the table. And Warren's turned to look at him again when she realised he was talking about Ellie "They took the keys to the formanmobile. And they'll steal your stuff too. And who knows who else he's gonna bite. . .You. He said as he pointed to the three members sat at the table, he then grabbed the gun of the table. "I'm finding that dude and I'm taking him out before he has a chance to bite anyone else, the girl too if I have too. Now who's with me!?" And all the men yelled in agreement before they got up and left the building.

Warren turned back to her drink and quickly downed it with an annoyed look on her face. That man was always getting into trouble and now he had got Ellie involved so she wasn't happy but she also knew Ellie could take care of herself so she wasn't worried.

"Anything I need to know" The barman asked her

"It's not a zombie" She said after a few seconds of hesitation and she slid her empty glass over to him.

Ellie's Pov

They had managed to search a few vehicles with out any trouble due to everyone being at the gun-show and figured they had plenty of time as they could hear gunshots and cheering in the distance but had no luck and now they were trying a white van with a drawing of a zombie on it and a guy shooting it with the word 'Bitch' going across it. Murphy got to the vehicle first and immediately tried the key and giving how he resorted in trying to yank the door open Ellie figured it didn't fit. And once she reached the vehicle she realised it did fit but there was also a padlock on the door, Foreman really liked his truck.

That's him" They heard a voice suddenly shout behind them and turning around they saw Forman walking towards them and he had a few friends. "That's the Z that bit me!"

"Hey guys, what's up?" Murphy asked nervously as he backed into the truck when they got closer to them before he grunted when two of the guys forced him to his knees.

"Hey!" Ellie shouted going towards them but another guy grabbed her arm keeping her in place

"He's not a zombie, he's talkin'" One of the men said

"Exactly" Ellie said hoping to persuade the men to let them go "He's not a z, he's got mental problems and lashes out when he's scared. We're working on it and I'm sure he's very sorry for biting you. So if you just let us go and we'll be on our way".

"What is he your father?" One of the men asked her and both her and Murphy pulled a face.

"No!, no definitely not. He's a …. friend, someone I help"

"I said he looked like a zombie" Forman clarified "I mean look at him!, But it doesn't matter, he stole my keys!"

"Uh, that's a lie" Murphy said looking between the two men holding him

"Then what are you doing at my machine?

"Murphy shut up" Ellie said exasperated "Like I said, not a lot going on in his noggin so he does things he doesn't mean, so just let us go and ill give you the keys"

"Search him" Forman said ignoring Ellie.

"No wai-" Ellie went to say as she tried to go forward but cut off with a hiss when the guy holding her tugged her back harshly towards his chest jarring her wound and shooting pains went through her stomach "Son of a bitch!" She exclaimed sending a glare at the man before looking back at Murphy as one of the men stepped forward and began searching his pockets and as they were doing this his shirt rose up revealing the bites and all three men jumped a way from him as well as the man holding Ellie so she was forced to go back with him and they raised their guns.

"He is a z" One of the men said

"I told you... I'm gonna put you down" Foreman said lifting his own gun to point at Murphy and seeing this Ellie knew she had to act quick.

Ellie stood on the guy who was holding her foot making in gasp in pain and loosen his grip on her so she quickly spun around to face him, taking her gun out at the same time and whacked the guy around the head sending him stumbling to the floor with a groan of pain. Once he was down she turned to face Forman and saw his finger tightening on the trigger of his gun so she rushed forward and grabbed his arm pushing it away form Murphy and just in the nick of time to because as she did this the gun went off and the bullet when soaring past them and into a toilet cubicle.

"No!" She heard someone shouting and looking behind Forman Ellie saw Doc and Cassandra charging towards them and they collided with forman sending him out of Ellie's grasp and they all struggled with the gun which went off in multiple directions and hit multiple people.

As this was happening Ellie saw another guy step up towards Murphy with his gun raised, she also saw that forman had managed to get out of Doc and Cassandra's grip and was now next to her so she quickly pushed him in-front of Murphy as the other guys gun went off and Forman dropped to the floor. The guy panicked when he saw he shot the wrong guy and quickly tried to reload but they were all interrupted by the sound of the cubicle door banging open and turning towards it they saw a zombie with his pants down, luckily enough the guys pants were long enough to cover him.

"Zombies!" One of the men shouted and the zombie snarled before running forwards and all the men opened fire.

"Murphy let's go!" Ellie shouted and at the same time Doc ran forward and grabbed him

"Let's go!, Get out of here" He said and they all ran away from the zombie when they heard a man screaming in pain and they knew the zombie had got hold of him.

Ellie managed to stay with Doc and Murphy but they had lost Cassandra in the panic. All breathing heavily they hid behind their truck, kneeling behind it they tried to catch their breath. Although Doc seemed more interested in glaring at Murphy and he noticed.

"What" Murphy asked but Doc carried on staring "What!?" He asked again

"You bit that guy" He finely asked

"No, No. It was just a fight" Murphy denied

"Murphy stop lying" Ellie complained closing her eyes as she tried to focus on her breathing and ignore the pain she was currently in.

"Well what'd you fight him with?... Because he was bleeding. A lot"

"I don't know, he was drunk. I didn't see. I tried to help him and then he accused me of stealing from him"

"You tried to help him?" Doc asked not convinced "Come on man. Level with me"

"Murphy he knows your lying and I was there, just tell him" Ellie said fed up

"Screw it. We need a vehicle, and we need it more than he does. Because I'm the saviour of humanity . Remember priority number one? So we do what we got to do. And sometimes we steal stuff"

"Did you bite him?"

"Doc you know me, I am not a animal"

"What happened to your tooth?" Doc asked and Ellie looked up at that and saw Murphy reaching towards his mouth and saw that his tooth was missing and Murphy didn't have an answer to that question.

"Yes! He bit him.. don't loo at me like that Murphy. You have to start being honest with us." Ellie snapped "He stole Forman's keys who then got physical and punched Murphy in the face and pulled a knife on us so he retaliated. Not that I'm saying biting is the right way to go. But Murphy snapped and when he realised what he did he let go, end of story, lets move on. Now can we get the others and leave now please"

"Okay" Doc said surprised by Ellie's outburst "Are you ok?"

"I'm super" Ellie said sarcastically before she stopped herself "Sorry, just please go get the others and ill watch Murphy"

"She might of ripped her stitches open or at least agitated the wound" Murphy said trying to explain when she was in that mood and also take the attention of off him.

"No I'm alright" Ellie denied but seeing the look on Docs face she sighed "Doc you can have a look for piece of mind for you but not now. Not when there are zombies running around and half our group out there so please just go"

"Ok" Doc said after a few seconds of hesitation. "You stay here" He said to Murphy as he pulled him to his feet and opened the truck door and pushed him inside before helping Ellie up off the floor. Who gratefully accepted the help and then climbed in after Murphy making him shuffle to the other side "I'm gonna get the other's, I'm very disappointed" He said disapprovingly to Murphy as he shut the door and walked away.

It was quiet for a few minutes and Ellie was just about to rest her eyes when she heard the truck door open again and thinking that Doc couldn't have been that quick she looked towards Murphy who was climbing out of the other door.

"Murphy what are you doing?" Ellie whined shuffling towards the door to climb out but Murphy slammed it shut on her, and stood by the window to look at her and also blocking her from opening it

"I'm gonna help Doc grab the others, you stay here and rest"

"What... no.. Doc sa-" Ellie said going to open the door but Murphy interrupted her.

"Ellie I'll be fine, and anyone can see that you are in pain and I am to blame for some of it, so rest. We'll be back before you know it" Murphy said trying to reassure her.

Ellie hesitated for a few seconds debating what Murphy had said, her side was burning and she really didn't want to go chasing after him and that moment of hesitation what all Murphy needed because he shot her a small smile and then legged it away from the car before she could get a word in. Ellie sighed before leaning back against the seat and closing her eyes going through in her head her options. She knew the Z's weren't interested in him for some reason so zombies weren't an issue. But on the other hand he looked like one so if some trigger happy drunken fool came across him, they could kill him, and then Garnett's sacrifice would have been for nothing. With that in mind Ellie knew what she had to do, she would find Murphy get the others and they would be all getting out of here alive.

Checking how many bullets were in her gun and seeing that there wasn't many, Ellie got out of the truck and went in the direction Murphy ran off in, Figuring maybe she could find a weapon on her way. She could here gun shots going off in the distance and she knew the gun show was still happening, even though there were still zombies running around. Speaking of zombies there were two currently running towards her and Ellie knew she didn't have the bullets to waste so she pulled her knife out and with a precise aim she threw it and it went soaring through the air and it impeded itself in the z's brain. But she underestimated the speed of the other z and she was able to just step out of it way to avoid a collisions but she didn't have time to pull out another knife so she quickly shot it in the head sending it flying to the floor. Luckily enough there weren't any other z's in the area.

Hearing a noise behind her Ellie tuned to see Murphy sneaking very badly as he was bumping into cars towards a body on the ground, so she made her way towards him but not before quickly retreating her knife from the z's brain as she passed.

"This doesn't look like Warren or the others" Ellie said sarcastically as she stopped next to Murphy who was currently looking down at the body which turned out to be Forman before he released a sigh and turned his head to look at Ellie.

"I thought I told you to wait in the truck" He said with an annoyed look on his face

"Yeah and I thought about it, but then I realised your not the boss of me"

"Maybe not but I was just trying to look out for you".

"Thanks for the concern but I am just fine... now what are we doing here?"

"Getting back what's mine" Murphy said leaning down to forman who was faced away form them and turned him on his back "Your friends didn't even cover you up" He mumbled under his breath then he lifted up one of Forman's eye lid to reveal is eye "You didn't turn" He said confused.

"What?" Ellie asked leaning down to get a closer look. "But he's dead and he doesn't have a bullet to the head, so why didn't he turn?" She asked again but she was mostly talking to herself. Before a thought came to her "You bit him" She announced a bit loudly making Murphy jump.

"Yeah, so?" He said looking at her like she was crazy

"So, you have the cure running through your veins, so when you bit him. Your saliva must have entered the wound, preventing him from turning. Well that just proves it, we defiantly have to tell Warren now" She said trying to pull Murphy up who just gently shoved her off.

"Yeah in a minute first I want back what's mine" He said putting his fingers in Forman's bite and pulling out something covered in blood.

"Is that your?" Ellie said not really wanting an answer but Murphy ignored her and shoved the bloody tooth back in his mouth making Ellie turn away in disgust. "Aww that's disgusting, ok come on. I've had enough of this weirdness, lets go get the other's" She said gesturing with her hand for Murphy to get moving.

"Hey I told you not to follow me, z's are not interested in me remember?"

"The z's might not be but in case you forgot you kinda of look like one and all it takes is one person to panic and shoot you and then bye bye zombie cure and bye bye Murphy". Ellie said like it was obvious

"Ok, I get your point lets find the others". Murphy agreed

So they made their way back to the field where the gun show was being held and they saw tons of zombies running up the fields and everyone else was rushing to grab there stuff and run. They saw Doc and Cassandra going in one direction and 10k and some other girl going in one.

"Go with Doc and Cassandra" Ellie said shoving Murphy towards that direction who grumbled but did what she said. She then started running in the direction of 10k and the girl, going by the table as she passed and from the corner of her eye she saw a crossbow sitting on the table with a holder of arrows next to it and she grabbed them both before following 10k.

"10K" She shouted when she got close enough and he froze before turning to look at her a smile creeping on his face.

"Ellie" He said relieved "Nice weapon" He added when he saw the cross bow in her hands.

"Thanks" Ellie smiled before turning to look at the girl "I'm Ellie, nice to meet you"

"Brit" She smiled but was interrupted when 10k's gun went off when a z got to close and that wasn't the only one. There were zombie's coming at them from all around and they all took turns in taking them out. "I'm getting low on ammo" Brit said

"Yeah me too" 10k agreed "Where are all these Z's coming form?"

"I'm good" Ellie said shooting a zombie in the head with an arrow and then she walked over to pull the arrow out and wiped the blood on her jeans before placing it back in the cross bow.

"I dunno. But where the hell is my dad?" Brit complained looking around anxiously

"We can't wait much longer" 10k said also looking around

"Brittany!" They all heard a voice in the distance and turning towards it they saw a man running towards them.

"There he is" She said relieved but panicked when she saw a zombie hot on his tail and she quickly raised her weapon to shoot it but all it did was click "I'm out" She announced and Ellie saw 10k raise his weapon and shoot the z down.

"Two thousand two hundred five" He boasted before smiling awkwardly when he saw Brittany staring at him

"Nice shooting kid" Brittany's farther praised " Come one Brit! We got to go!" Brittany smiled at them both before turning and running towards her father before 10k shouted out for them to wait and he soon followed, so Ellie did to.

"Here take this" He said to Brittany handing over the gun "You deserve it more than I do... really I want you to have it" He said again when he saw her hesitating

"Brit, we got to go" Her father said again so she grabbed the gun our of 10k's arms.

"Thank you" She smiled before leaning in to kiss 10k on the cheek. She then stepped back and walked pass her dad who looked up at both him and Ellie.

"Good luck kids" he said before following his daughter

Ellie looked toward 10k who had gone red in the face "That was nice of you. You really wanted that gun"

"Yeah but she deserved it more" He said looking at Ellie

"You sure that was the reason or was it because you liked her?" Ellie asked teasing him and he looked so confused.

"I... no.. she" he stammered and Ellie could stop herself from laughing

"Ten, I was joking" She said bumping her hip with his gently trying not to aggravate her wound but also trying to calm 10k down and it worked. He glared at her playfully but couldn't stop the smile spreading on his face. "Come on let's go find the others"

Looking around to make sure no zombies were coming towards them and when they saw the coast was clear they made their way to the car park. Hopefully the others had made it back there, and once hey had made it to the car park they were both relieved to see everyone in the truck waiting on them. And what made Ellie smile was that Warren was in the Drivers seat so was was obviously feeling better.

"Hey" 10 shouted announcing their arrival and they carried on running towards the truck. 10K was ahead of Ellie and was so focused on the truck he failed to see the zombie heading straight for him.

"10k watch out!" Ellie shouted but she was to late the zombie collided with him and he struggled to get the snarling zombie off him.

Ellie quickly aimed her cross bow and she saw Doc and Warren come out with their weapons raised too

"I cant get a shot" Warren shouted when 10k and the z kept moving

"Hold him steady kid!" Doc shouted

"I can't!" 10 shouted panicking as the zombie continued to try and bit him. Ellie struggled to get a shot to, from her position she could hit 10k so she quickly moved to the side so she was in line with the z but not with 10k and fired her arrow. Her aim was true and soon the zombie ceased his struggles and fell to the floor an arrow piercing his skull. 10K turned towards Ellie a bit dazed and hearing more zombies behind them Ellie quickly ran forward and pushed 10k to move while grabbing her arrow from the z's head.

"Nice weapon" Doc said smiling as they got to the truck and Ellie just smiled before Doc pulled 10k into the front with him and Warren and Ellie climbed in the back with Murphy and Cassandra. As soon as they were all in Warren wasted no time in pulling out of the parking lot and driving off down the road.

"Do you know where your going?" Doc asked

"Followin' the sun" Warren said "It's what Charlie... it's what he would do" She said sadly and they all just nodded.

"I'm glad our feeling a bit better" Ellie said smiling at Warren through the front mirror and she saw Warren smile back before focusing back on the road.

"I hope we catch up with Mack and Addy" Cassandra said trying to change the subject

"Yeah me too" Doc agreed

"I'm sure we will" Ellie said wincing when she shifted herself and it was a wince that was noticed

"Warren can we pull over for a minute while I check on Ellie's wound" Doc said looking at Ellie through the front mirror

"No.. Doc... I'm fine... just keep going Warren" Ellie complained

"No your not fine Ellie... I saw what that guy did when he grabbed you and the look on your face, you've gone really pale and wincing from the slightest movement. I need to make sure nothing's wrong"

"Really Doc I just strained myself, I feel no worst than I did when I was first shot, Cassandra was also shot why don't you check on her?"

"I did earlier when 10k was in the competition hers is fine. She's been listening to me"

"It's not my fault some drunken fools tried to pick a fight with Murphy, I was trying to help. Also not Murphy's fault so don't blame him. Yes he did things he shouldn't off done but he was provoked and protecting me. So keep driving I'm good"

"I agree with Doc, Ellie your not getting out of this" Warren said pulling the truck to a stop on the side of the road. "Murphy, Cassandra can you climb out so we can lay Ellie down?" Warren asked getting out of the truck and Doc did the same.

"Yeah sure" Cassandra said getting out and surprisingly Murphy did too without any fuss, he was probably feeling guilty.

Once they were out Warren climbed in gesturing with her finger for Ellie to turn and she felt someone grab her shoulder and looking towards it she saw Doc on the other side of her helping her turn. As she turned Doc let go of her shoulders and Warren held them instead and Doc picked up her feet and with both of their help Ellie was now lying down on the back seat with only minor discomfort.

"This is so stupid" Ellie complained pulling a face at Doc when her lifted up her top to reveal the bandage across her stomach.

"Nothing's stupid when it comes to any of your health" Warren said kneeling down by the seat so se could rest her head next to Ellies and wen Ellie turned to look back at her she continued. "Im sorry I went out of it for a while"

"It's ok, I understand why. But if you want to talk I'm here, it's not good bolting it up inside of you. I tried that and I just kept snapping at everyone. Which I apologize for by the way" Ellie said raising her voice so Murphy could hear her and she heard him grumble in response.

"Anything I can do Doc?" 10k asked from the front seat

"Yeah you can grab me some gauze and a bandage from my bag " He said handing 10k is bag who ruffled through it. I'm gonna cut the bandage Ellie so I can see if the stitches are still in tact ok?" and once Ellie nodded e started cutting the bandage away but then hesitated when it came to the gauze as he knew it might pull on the wound and Ellie was watching him.

"I won the competition" 10k said suddenly seeing Docs dilemma

"Really?" Warren said sounding proud "Where's the gun, I heard that was the prize?"

"He gave it to a girl he liked" Ellie said doing exactly what they hoped, getting distracted so Doc could do what he had to do which he did.

"I didn't like her" 10k denied blushing but he was also smiling

"Liar" Ellie said making them all laugh before Ellie gasped when Doc pulled of the gauze and Warren tried to sooth her by gliding her finger through her hair.

"Sorry" He said but didn't look up "Well the stitches are still intact and there's no sign of internal bleeding" He said grabbing her wrist "Your pulse is strong and you're not sweating so I think you just overdone it today" Doc concluded and he grabbed the bandage and gauze of 10k.

Placing the gauze on the wound, Doc looked up at Warren who knew what Doc wanted so she stood up and climbed back into the truck. "Ellie we're gonna lift you up so Doc can wrap the bandage over ok?. 10K come help" Warren said and 10k quickly climbed out of the truck while Warren climbed further in and 10k climbed in behind her. "You grab her shoulders I got her arms."

So 10K slid his arm under Ellie's neck while Warren took her hands "On 3. 1, 2, 3" And they managed to pull her into a sitting position. 10K climbed in further so he could sit behind Ellie so she could rest her head on his shoulder while Warren held her shirt up with one hand and her hand in the other. They could see Ellie was tired and she was struggling to make her limbs co-operate. Doc made quick work in wrapping the bandage around her stomach and once it was secure, Warren let go off her top and hand and climbed past 10k who she made a gesture with her hand telling him to stay put when he looked like he was gonna move.

"All done Ellie" Doc said smoothing his hand across her hair smiling. He then climbed out of the truck to go to his bag and came back with a bottle of water and some pills. "Take these and then get some rest" He said to Ellie who grabbed the pills with shaky hands and chucked them into her mouth and then chugged some water down before handing it back to Doc, Who chucked it back into his bag. He then climbed back out of the truck and climbed into the passenger seat.

Cassandra climbed in next to him and Warren got into the drivers seat. While Murphy climbed into the back and seeing this Ellie went to try and move her feet but moving just gently lifter her legs, got in and then placed them back onto his lap. Ellie was to tired to be shocked but she did notice how he held her feet like he was trying to protect her, and she could feel him smoothing his thumb over her ankle through her boots as a soothing gesture and that was the last thought that entered her head before the events of the day caught up to her and the world went dark and she was soon sleeping peacefully oblivious to the world around her.
