"I love you, and I will never say that to anybody else,"Ginny whispered, looking at the man sleeping next to her. For years she'd been unable to say that word, to even admit she felt something akin to love. Love had been ruined.
Harry had ruined it. Harry had destroyed the one good thing that seemed to exist in the world. He'd used it, used the fact she loved him as a reason to break her heart, to shatter her before leaving to fight. After that, after he'd used that against her, Ginny had hated that word.
It meant nothing more than pain. It meant having your heart broken, shattered, and nothing could put it back together. It meant worrying, hoping, and then in the end, when nothing was the same, when things couldn't go back to what they were before, it meant the end of everything.
Now, now the true meaning of that word was starting to seep back to the surface of her heart. She hadn't been able to say it, not for so long, but now, now she had finally done it. She'd finally managed to take the word, change it back to its original meaning.
"I love you too," Draco murmured, still half asleep. She wasn't sure she could say it when he was awake, when he was looking at her, but being able to say it to his sleeping form, it was a start. He'd never pressured her, he'd lost love too, had his heart ripped from his chest. They were alike in that way.
Ginny smiled, curling against his sleeping form. She wrapped her arms around him, burying her face into the emerald silk pyjamas he favored. Ginny had been shocked the first time she stayed the night and seen his sleep attire. She'd always figured he wore a nightshirt, or nothing at all, she would not have minded the nothing at all, but Draco liked to sleep in silk pyjama bottoms with a matching buttoned down shirt and she loved him, no matter what he wore. She loved him!
