Okay, here's the deal. I love Pokémon, it is one if not my favorite game series ever. So, one night after a lot of energy drinks and a bit of coffee, I came up with this idea. Ash, wanting to conquer every region with a team that had a Pokémon from: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and idk, I'll choose later. The only Pokémons I am confirming for now are, Lucario and Zangoose. The other four, are still to be decided but will be part of my favorite Pokémons.

Arc 1: Kanto

Chapter 1: One way to the Top

One time every 6 years, the Pokémon World Tournament takes place. All champions from each region goes there to see who is the best. The winner is named the world champion, and brings great pride to his region.

Ash Ketchum was watching the finals of it, Lance Wataru from his region Kanto, and Leon Dande, the champion from the Galar region. Rules from the tournament doesn't allow region exclusive moves, like mega evolution or dynamax.

It was a fun fight, but in the end, Leon's Charizard end up beating Lance's Shiny Gyrados. Lance raised his hand and they cut to interviews, and Ash decided to go to sleep, dreaming that one day, he will be the World Champion.

Just a couple of months and he will get his first Pokémon.

*Time Later*

Even if Pallet Town was small, there were still some good places to hang out. Like a nearby beach. If you can call it that.

It was small. Like, really small.

But hey, He and Gary loved going there because no one else goes there. But sadly, he was alone this time.

Gary was busy with some family meeting or something that came at last moment, so here we was, sat in the beach by himself.

He was bored, there's no doubt about it. The waves weren't big, and there weren't even a lot of Pokémons to watch. Not even Magikarps. There was a box thought.

A shaking box.

Ash slowly approached it "Hello?" The shaking continued and he could hear some sort of punching at the top of the box.

Until the top of the box was broken and a small, blue Pokémon with red eyes came out.

He looked around franticly, before spotting Ash and glaring down at him "Ri!"

Ash raised his arms and walked to him slowly "Hi... my name is Ash... I don't want to hurt you."

The Pokémon kept glaring at him, before nodding and falling out of the box, completely exhausted.

Ash didn't hesitate, he picked him up and rushed to Professor Oak's Lab. He ignored the curious looks from his neighbors and entered the lab without knocking.

Luckily, Professor Oak managed to dodge the family meeting and was in the lab. He sighed knowing it was Ash. "Ash, I told you already, if you want to come here, knock fi-" He stopped seeing the Pokémon in his arms "What happened?"

Ash panted "I found this Pokémon in a box. He just passed out. Can you help him Professor?"

Oak nodded and carefully picked up the mysterious Pokémon and started to treat him with one of the many healing machines.

"Will he be, okay?" Ash asked and Oak nodded.

"He will." He frowned "To find a Riolu all the way here..."

Ash looked confused "What do you mean Professor?"

Oak kept frowning "Riolu is a Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. You say you found him in a box, right?" Ash nodded "I fear he escaped from Pokémon illegal traffickers."

He sighed and smiled at the worried boy "Don't worry Ash, he is safe now. Why don't you wait here for the little guy to recover. Riolus can see auras, and if he allowed you to carry him, he must have seen that you are good."

Ash smiled "Don't worry Professor! I'll be here!"

It took some hours, but Riolu slowly opened his eyes "Ri?"

Ash jumped from his sit and went to see him "Hey, Riolu..." Riolu turned sharply to him with a glare, before noticing it was Ash and relaxed "How are you feeling?"

Riolu looked at him and sniffed him before shrugging "Ri."

Ash smiled "So you're feeling better. That's good. My name is Ash by the way."

Riolu nodded and looked around "Ri?"

"Oh! You are in Professor Oak's lab. He healed you." Ash explained and Riolu smiled.

"Riolu!"

Ash laughed "Yes, he is pretty cool."

The door opened and Riolu jumped and got in fighting position and Oak chuckled "It is good to see you are feeling better. I am Professor Oak."

Riolu blinked and turned to Ash. "Ri?"

Ash nodded "Yes, he is the guy I told you about."

Riolu nodded and turned to Oak "Riolu."

As Oak continue to examine Riolu, he noticed that the baby Pokémon became quite attached to Ash. After an hour or so, the tests were done.

"Okay, I will contact Professor Rowan of Sinnoh for him or his assistant to pick up Riolu." Oak said and Ash smiled and turned to Riolu.

"Hear that Riolu? You're going back to your home!" Ash said and Riolu frowned.

"Ri."

Ash raised a brow "Aren't you excited?"

"Ri, Ri!"

"Hey, you don't owe me anything. I am sure anyone would have done the same."

Oak watched the interaction between Ash and the Riolu. From what he is gathering from Ash, Riolu wants to... reward Ash?

"...Besides, I am starting my journey soon. I will not stay here for much longer."

"Riolu, Riolu!" Riolu raised his arms as he kept arguing and jumped from Ash's arms, rushed to a table with Pokéballs and grabbed one "Ri!"

Ash blinked and even Oak was surprised "You... want to come with me?"

Riolu nodded "Ri!"

Ash looked at Oak who smiled "This is something you don't see every day, that's for sure."

"Professor?"

Oak took the ball from Riolu's hands and handed it to Ash. "Ash, this Riolu trusts you. I know you love Pokémon; it is time to show it. Please take care of him, because I know, you are meant for great things."

Ash nodded and put the ball in front of Riolu as the Pokémon tapped the button, and let himself be captured.

Once the ball stopped shaking, Ash let Riolu out of the ball and smiled to his first Pokémon.

His legend just started.
