Season 2 Episode Two Part One

Murphy's Pov

The car Murphy used to escape was now left safely in a garage and now Cassandra and Murphy were running on foot through the town. They were both still currently being run after by the same bounty hunter that had ambushed them in the bar. Warren and the others weren't far behind them.

"Murphy!" He heard Warren shout out to him

"Garage!" He said to Cassandra breathlessly and she went right while he went left. He ran till the end of the street when he had to quickly stop when a SUV pulled out in front of him with people with guns and skeleton masks on looking at him.

The bounty hunter shot at the car hitting the windscreen causing them to crash into a parked car. Some of the men got out of the car to return fire and when they did Murphy used this as an opportunity to escape. Running down the street the car had just come from.

Warren's Pov

Taking cover behind another car they all saw the bounty hunter shoot the remaining men left alive before glancing back at her and the others. He then went after Murphy.

"That guys determined" Ellie said while checking her bullets, she was running low and would probably have to resort to her cross bow eventually.

"OK. It's like that, then." Warren said just as a red jeep drove past full of more armed men followed by the woman in the van again who aimed her gun at them.

"Look out!" Mack shouted grabbing Addy's hand and they all moved to the other side of the car while 10k and Ellie who were nearest the end of the car ran towards a building across from the street. 10K got there first taking cover and pulling Ellie out of dodge just as a bullet took a chunk out of the wall almost hitting her.

"Look out, kids!" Doc shouted just as Warren shouted

"10K, Ellie. Murphy!" They both nodded before going after their so called messiah

"What the hell is going on?!" Addy asked struggling to catch her breath

"It's a damn Murphy free-for-all!" Doc said just as the Skelton men that got shot earlier were starting to wake up blood dripping down their mouths"I think it's time we need to..."

"Time to go!" Warren shouted raising from her spot with her gun raised and they all ran to find better cover.

Murphy's Pov

He ran as fast as he could taking cover when ever he could to try and catch his breath as he tried to make his way back to the garage where he sent Cassandra. There were gunshots echoing every where making it difficult to decide which way was safer, when he decided to risk running through some front gardens by people's houses. He almost made it to the end of the street when he was forced to stop again when the bounty hunter from earlier came out from the side of a garage his gun aimed at him. Murphy froze not sure what to do when the guy took out a taser making Murphy snap out of it and he ran down the side of the house and into a backyard,past a zombie dog trapped behind a cage.

Murphy climbed onto a cabinet and managed to pull himself over a fence. He managed to get a head start on the guy when he came across some zombies who didn't want to leave him alone

"Shoo! Shoo! Go home!" He shouted at them when the bounty hunter caught up and the zombies charged at him allowing Murphy to escape.

Murphy managed to make it by the main street again when he took cover behind a yellow pick up truck and every way he looked there were either zombies or bounty hunters. And one of the zombies took interest in Murphy and started running towards him when he was shot in the head and went tumbling to the floor.

The van with the woman pulled up then and as she stepped out and Murphy slowly stood up. Hoping the woman would help him.

"Excuse me, ma'am?" He said as he slowly approached her "I was wondering if I may be able to catch a ride with you" But the woman pulled her gun out on him and shot at him, it hit Murphy in the stomach and he went flying to the floor. He looked down at his stomach to see no blood, luckily enough it wasn't a bullet it was a sand bag. Still stung like a bitch though.

Struggling to catch his breath he turned to see the woman walking towards him with a rope in her hands. He then saw Cassandra come speeding from around the corner and with a roar she charged at the woman. Jumping on her back Cassandra bit her in the neck making her scream out in pain as she struggled to get her off.

Murphy slowly made his way back to his feet and made his way over to her. Thankful he had some back up now, but he only made it a few steps when he was tackled from the side and him and the person who tackled him went crashing to the floor.

"Ah! Ow!" Murphy complained as he struggled to his hand and knees and turned to see 10k who didn't waste no time getting to his feet just as Ellie ran up next to him her gun raised but aimed at Cassandra.
"Stupid jerk!" he said getting to his feet

"Seriously Murphy?" Ellie said as 10k pulled some rope out of his pocket but they were both distracted when they saw a man walk towards them with a grenade launcher in his hands and it was aimed at them. "10k!" Ellie shouted and 10k jumped out of the way just as he fired while Ellie tackled Murphy out of the way and they both went to the floor.

The rocket hit the wall behind 10k sending rock and dirt everywhere. Ellie quickly got up from her spot on the floor and aimed her gun at the man before firing at him and he dodged running away from them and past a building.

Ellie turned towards Murphy to see him running away with Cassandra, she didn't want him getting away but 10k was down and vulnerable, she had no option but to let him go. She ran towards 10k, and dropped to the floor next to his face to see him staring blankly ahead. "10k?" Ellie said with concern as she gently tapped his face to try and get a reaction.

"10k, we got to go" She said shaking him. He had blood dripping down his head,and he was awake just not responding. Ellie knew she would struggling getting him out if he didn't get up and she would struggle to shoot if she had to try and carry him.

As that thought crossed her mind a lot of unwelcome people started coming and they were basically in the middle of it. Using the truck as cover Ellie shot at some of the people aiming at them, but she was outnumbered. She quickly had to dodge when a stray bullet came close to hitting her and she she ducked down behind the truck and turned to face 10k when she jumped a mile and went to shoot her gun, when a arm grabbed hers forcing her gun down.

"Hey! Lets not shoot the guy trying to help" Doc joked making Ellie smile with relief

"Sorry" She said shrugging her shoulders and Doc gently tapped her face with his hand before turning to look at 10k who still hadn't moved.

"I can't carry him, and he wont get up" Ellie said and Doc nodded before pulling him up of his stomach by the back of his shirt, he then lifted his arm over his shoulder and dragged him over to another car while Ellie provided cover fire.

Coming around the back of the other car Ellie saw all the others taking cover. She helped Doc sit 10k down who was finally coming around.

"You scared the hell out of me, kid" Doc said

"Yeah me too" Ellie grumbled

"Where am I?" He said disoriented

"Don't worry. We got you now" Doc assured him

"What?!" 10k shouted

"I said we got you now!"

"I can't hear you!" He said his eyes going wide with panic

"This is insane!" Mack shouted ducking out of the way of a bullet and Ellie quickly returned fire.

Warren and Addy were furthest down the car and was aiming at the people on that side while, Doc, Ellie and Mack were shooting at the ones on their side.

"Why the hell is everybody shooting at everybody?!" Addy shouted reloading her gun

"'Cause Murphy's the golden goose!" Doc said

"Well, we're sitting ducks here" Warren said "We're gonna have to split up into groups and keep moving,
"10K, are you alright?"

"What?!"

"I think he's deaf." Doc said "What happened?" He said looking at Ellie

"We got shot at by some arsehole with a grenade launcher and 10k was closer. He took the bulk of the blast while I just got covered by some debris" She said looking down at her dust filled clothes.

"Doc, Ellie you take him with you" Warren said "You guys, get to the alley and cut east and advance north"
"Mack and Addy, you guys take the west side. We'll flush him out"

"What about the bounty hunters?" Doc asked as he pointed to himself and Ellie so that 10k knew who he was going with

"Kill them too!" Warren said with determination as cocked her gun "On my call. We'll cover you"

Doc pulled 10k up so they were squatting while Ellie reloaded her gun, she was on her last few bullets. Warren turned to aim at a guy coming their way, she then turned and started counting from three , using her fingers as well so 10k knew what was happening

"Three, two, one. Go!" She shouted and Doc and Ellie helped 10k stand and they ran past the car as the others provided cover fire.

They managed to make it to a hotel without any problems. They all took cover behind a black car when Doc pointed at Ellie and 10k and pointed at a red truck in front of them and counted down from three with his hands, and when he got to three Ellie and 10k ran to the red pick up.

Doc ran to the other side of the black car and when the coast was clear to ran to a another car opposite from 10k's and Ellie's. He looked back at them and gestured at them and 10k pulled a face, looking confused and gestured to his ears. And Doc pulled a face before running towards them.

"Look" He said quietly and gestured with his head for 10ks benefit and they both popped their head up to see the z's heading for the building.

"Murphy?" 10k said loudly and they both shushed him.

"Yeah. That's what I'm thinking." Doc said quietly pointing to his temple "Ready? Go" He said and Ellie grabbed 10k's arm pulling him with her and Doc followed behind. The took cover behind another car.

"The Zs must've followed him inside" Doc explained

"At least we can track him through them" Ellie said surveying the area

"Yeah, But I think I know a back entrance - might be safer." He said looking back at 10k who was still staring at the building "Can you hear anything I'm saying?"

"What?!" 10k shouted loudly when their window was shot through sending glass everywhere and they all jumped a mile.

"Jesus! This is ridiculous! What the hell are we doing here?" Doc complained and when it looked like Ellie was going to say something he lifted up his hand "That's a rhetorical question. Alright, ready?"
"I'll cover. You run...One, two, three. Go!"

10k got up to run when someone shot at him hitting the side of the car and Ellie pulled him back down before he could get hit.

"Damn! Someone's got us pinned" Doc whined

10k reached over and picked up a hub-cap and raised it above his head when a bullet hit it knocking it out of his hand.

"Sniper." He clarified

"Great!" Doc said as 10k leaned down to look at a piece of glass which allowed him to see where the sniper was.

"Second floor. Seventh window from the right"

"You think you can take him out?" Doc started asking raising from his spot when he was suddenly grabbed by a zombie coming out from the window forcing Doc away from the car so he had to run towards the building.

Ellie quickly pulled her knife out and mercied the zombie just as 10k ran to another car closer to the building. Ellie quickly followed after 10k.

"Can you hear me?" She asked him once she reached the car and he was glad when he nodded.

"Just about" He said lifting up in sniper rifle to aim at the sniper "My ears are ringing though"

"At least your hearings back... you distract him I'm going to go help Doc"

10k nodded taking aim he shot at the sniper and they both heard glass smashing "Go" 10k shouted and Ellie quickly ran past the car and into the building.

Ellie made her way up the stairs and towards the room she knew they were in and once she reached the room she could hear lots of shouting and banging. Slowly opening the door she saw Doc currently straddling the man sending a few punches his way while covering his mouth and nose with his hand as he tried to knock him out.

But the man managed to dislodge Doc and used his feet to kick Doc off him and he went flying to the floor, hitting his head as he landed and went still. The man got up then and went to go up after Doc when Ellie intervened, fully stepping into the room she shot at the man aiming at his shoulder but he managed to dodge.

"I don't want to hurt you but I will if you don't stop" Ellie warned as the guy slowly started walking towards her a creepy grin on his face. Like he thought she wouldn't actually shoot him, which was his mistake. She tightened her grip on the trigger and the man's smile dropped slightly before he rushed forward.

Just as Ellie fired her gun the man grabbed her wrist pushing her hand up and the bullet went into the ceiling, sending some dust to the floor she tried to pull her arm out of his grasp but he had a firm grip he then backhanded her across the face and she went to the floor with a yelp the gun leaving her hands. Holding a hand to her cheek she looked up at the man to see him lift his foot up and when he brought it down again towards her, Ellie acted fast grabbing hold of his foot before it could make contact she swiftly twisted it to the side. Not enough to break it but enough to cause pain, the man yelled out as he stumbled on one foot and Ellie wasted no time in quickly getting to her feet and she kicked him in the chest and he went flying to the floor.

The man landed in a heap on the floor and before he could try and get up Ellie rushed over and kicked him in the face to hopefully knock him out which seemed to work as he went still. She then picked up her gun that had fallen down next to him. Going to walk past the fallen man and towards Doc, Ellie felt something grasp her ankle and before she could even think about doing anything her ankle was harshly tugged backward and she let out a gasp as she fell to the floor with a thud the wind being temporally knocked out of her. Getting her bearings back she turned her head to see the man who definitely wasn't unconscious and was actually faking had her ankle in a firm grip, he had blood dripping from his head and he was not happy. He was also currently trying to pull Ellie towards his by her ankle but she wasn't going easily not that it was doing her any good.

She tried kicking him in the face but he kept dodging, she couldn't shake of his grip either. Spotting her gun a few metres in front of her Ellie tried to reach it, when her other ankle was grasped and she was harshly pulled away and towards the man who pulled himself on top of Ellie who then found her hair tightly gripped as the man pulled her head backwards and then slammed it hard against the floor. Ellie cried out as black spots appeared in her vision, she tried to shake the man off but he used her movement to flip her onto her back so she was facing him, he then straddled her. Shaking her head Ellie tried to clear her vision when suddenly her oxygen was being cut off of she could feel the man's hand wrapped around her throat.

Gasping Ellie tried slapping his hands away but the man just tightened his grip She could feel the edge of her vision going dark and she knew she didn't have long. Looking around she tried to find anything she could use when she remember the knife strapped to her lower back. Shifting her weight she managed to get herself sideways slightly so she could reach her knife and because the man was so fixated on her face she was able to grab her knife and strike. She was aiming for his head, but her mind couldn't focus with the lack of air but she did manage to stab him in the back of the shoulder which still got the desired result.

The man shouted out in pain and he let go of Ellie who immediately started coughing as she tried to get in the air her lungs were deprived off. Once her coughing had died down she could still hear the man groaning in pain as he tried to pull the knife out which gave her the chance to try and pull herself up from the floor which she succeeded in but not without stumbling into the wall first. Turning herself around she shook her head to clear the fog to see the man glaring at her as he finally managed to grip the knife and he pulled it out before aiming it at Ellie. Ellie pulled out another knife not wanting to be at a disadvantaged but her gun was somewhere.

"That wasn't very nice" The man growled

"Neither is strangling someone" Ellie bit back getting fed up of the situation and before the man could register what was happening Ellie threw her knife towards him forcing him to duck and when he did she charged. Pulling out another knife Ellie slashed out of him when the man raised his own knife deflecting her own knife and they made a clanging noise as they made contact with each other. And once again Ellie found herself being backhanded against the face and she lost her grip on her knife but she did stay standing.

Only now she was unarmed and the man still had his knife.

"What you gonna do now darling?" The man teased and Ellie internally gagged at the name "No weapon and no way out"

"Never stopped me before" Ellie said getting into a defensive position as she raised her hands up and sent a bring it on gesture with her hand and the man growled before charging.

The man lashed out the the knife and Ellie dodged out of the way and the knife embedded the wall instead as he struggled to pull it out Ellie kicked him in the back and he went stumbling into the wall, she then grabbed the lamp of the bedside table and smashed it across his head and he yelled out as he fell to the floor. Pulling the knife out of the wall Ellie went to aim it at the man when he swiped out at her feet and once again she found herself flat on her back again and the knife in the man's hands but she also found herself within reach of her gun

"Lost something?" He boasted a gleaming smile on his lips as he held the knife up

"Found something" She countered with a smile as she got grips on the gun and pulled it up she trained it on the man who froze. Fring the gun the man ran to dodge and jumped behind the bed and she heard him land with a thud.

As she went to go see if he was dead Ellie heard a moan, turning around she saw Doc was finally coming to after his bash to the head. She also realised she had just turned her back to the enemy not knowing whether he was dead or not and before she could turn to check a body collided with hers and they both landed with a heap on the floor. Looking around for her gun Ellie saw a flash of metal coming her way and she was able to grasp the man's wrist stopping his well aimed hit for her head with the knife. Ellie struggled to push the knife away just as the man struggled to meet his mark and seeing the man wasn't going to give in Ellie managed to get her leg out from underneath her and kick him in the side. The man pulled the knife away with a gasp but before Ellie could do anything else he flung his head forward whacking her head against his and a white flash of blinding pain went across her face and she stumbled to her feet as she struggled to clear the fog from her head black spots appearing across her vision again.

Once she had cleared her vision she could she the man had also gotten to his feet both of them were breathing heavily only he had a weapon and she didn't.

The man slashed out with the knife and Ellie managed to dodge before sending a punch to his face and the man responded by lifted up his knee and slammed it into her stomach making Ellie gasp out in pain as she backed away. So it's like that Ellie thought 'If the man wants to play dirty then that's what we'll do'

With a new sense of determination Ellie quickly grabbed the small side table and launched it at the man and while he was distracted trying to block it she charged and once she was in reach she sent a hard kick to his side and when he gasped out in pain she sent her knee up in between his legs and he yelled out as he dropped to his knees. Ellie gripped his wrist then the one holding the knife and twisted it forcing him to let the knife go and it dropped into Ellie's other hand. Raising up Ellie went to strike when the man suddenly lurched forward his arms going around her waist and she was pushed backwards and into the glass balcony doors with so much force that she went straight through it. Glass rained down all around her as she landed with a heavy thud and she went still.
