She was a mess when Severus finally found her. Her skin is sunburned with blisters forming on her shoulders and face. Her clothing was torn, parts of it missing entirely. She was missing her right shoe, and Severus was certain she was suffering from dehydration. He scooped her up in his arms and apparated, holding her closely.

"We got lost, there was a -" she whispered, her voice almost gone entirely.

"Don't try to speak, my Luna. I'm taking you home where I will have the healers come and see to your injuries," he stated. The wold had stopped spinning as they arrived at the Manor. Luna's vision started to dim. She was certain, though, she heard Lucius screaming her name.

Luna woke to the strong scent of sage and a cacophony of herb scents she couldn't identify. Severus was standing over her applying some sort of pale green salve to her arms.

"This will help with burns. You're lucky it wasn't worse."

Luna nodded, glancing around the room, looking for her other husband.

"Where's Lucius?" she finally asked, her voice still raspy from screaming for help. She hadn't even been sure if there had been anyone else out there. She made a mental note to chalk this expedition up as a failure.

"He's sleeping, Luna. He didn't stop searching for you from the moment the communications stopped. He did everything in his power to find you. It was his research and maps of the area that led me to you. He needs his rest as much as you do," Severus stated.

"I'm sorry, I never expected the sand storm to do that. I was going to apparate, but ended up managing to step on my own wand and break it. I didn't dare attempt to apparate without it."

"I'm glad you didn't," Severus replied, giving Luna a soft kiss on her forehead. "Now rest, my Luna. I'll have lunch brought to you, and by then, Lucius might be awake as well and you can tell him everything you found."

"Nothing, I found nothing," Luna whispered, tears starting to prick the corners of her blue eyes.

"Then what is this? You had it in your hand, wouldn't let go when I grabbed you," he said, holding up a piece of what appeared to be stone. Luna sat up, the blanket falling to the floor.

"It's a tooth! I found a tooth! They were there!" she exclaimed, a smile nearly breaking her face in half. "I'm going to need the exact coordinates you found me, if there's one tooth, there might be more!"

"And you're not getting that information, or going back out there until the healers have given you the all clear and someone is going to be going with you this time."

Luna laughed, laying back down. He was right, this could have been a lot worse. Maybe she could convince them both to join her, the idea of Lucius walking through a barren desert was actually hilarious.
