Prologue - First Sequence: Ancient yet Beautiful Memories
"His light vanished when he traveled into the dark, but yet the traces still remains."
Another vision... another memory? It is so vague yet so familiar but it ends all the same. Above the city skies were heroes, one radiantly shining a color all to their own, slaying entities beyond the radiant night. But one is her... an angel healing the injured as she shone upon them with a soothing light. Then there I saw it, a hawk silently stalking her, talons prepared to strike. My body is growing heavy with every step that I take and my eyes... they begin struggling to stay open, but I want to to call out to her, getting her to see it, trying to have to know about it, but she never hears it. Am I ghost? A feint and inaudible whisper warning her of a tragedy that will swiftly strike upon her? My body falls cold, averting the tragedy that I would have seen as it all goes dark.
Within one of labs of the PROJECT Corporation, a researcher and scientist duo is in the room that is adding the finishing touches to a commander type PROJECT. The scientist takes a look at the monitor to see how the progression time which shows, "/...{PRJK...[{CMND-Type}=ZED-FRM}...CONSTRUCTION%: COMPLETE",
"Prepare to wake him up?" Ask the scientist as she walks up to the PROJECT. "Sure, can't get the board get any more antsy since how Zed is hunting down MORDEKAISER. What colors should we give this one to differentiate?" Responds the researcher.
"Glad thing that you ask since I already got one." Answered the scientist as she types out the command "SET_COLR:{HEX:#4166F5}" into a tablet she grabbed from the table where it causes the edges of both the retractable arm mounted blades, shurikens as well of triangle that was on the helmet of the cyborg ninja to glow the color that was inputted. "Time for you to wake up," said the scientist under her breath as she enter "run(Awakening_PRGM{UNIT_1})" into the tablet. In time, the micro-Hextech core in PROJECT Zed model's chest begins humming to life as he begins to awaken slowly, beginning to move and look around.
"ZED model unit one, please make a response to show that you are fully operational." Asked the researcher as he took note from a various monitors displaying the PROJECT's vitals. "All vitals are normal, subroutines are green." The model responds as he looks at his new augmented body, "Perfect, disabling the safety protocols. Consider yourself a lucky individual to be selected the PROJECT... the core, heart and brain are perfectly functioning." The scientist said as she examines his vitals, "You remember anything prior to you being selected?" she questioned.
"Y-yes? An echo... telling me something." Responded the PROJECT as uncertainty fills the air.
"Then care to tell us?" Asked the scientist. "Saying that I am Kurai or Taiyō? But the rest are... they are just hazy..." he responds as he gets up, but stumbles for a bit as the both the scientist and researcher runs to him, helping him retain his balance.
"Just lay back on the table then. We'll finish the calibrations and report to the board." Told the scientist as she and the researcher finish the remaining calibrations, making sure that he can function properly. As the duo finally set the calibrations to, they start to talk to each other while attempting to not let the PROJECT hear them.
"Clearly that there is something different from this from our standard models." The researcher asked.
"What makes you say that?" Questioned the scientist.
"The obvious fact that he recalls his full name, and that during a quick scan, small traces of magic. Something that all of other models do not posses."
"Then what should we do? Should we inform the board about this?"
"Yeah, sounds like a good idea... convince them that we're be doing field testing." The scientist seems to nod to the idea as she grabs that contacts the board as the researcher walks to Taiyō. "Due to your current status. We are contacting the board to authorize a field operation to serve as a testing ground to see that the calibrations are properly done, see if there are potential outliers in your system that requires fixing, and seeing that your equipment are running as they supposed to be." Asked the researcher, "Sure. I need the fresh air, when and where I will be placed for the testing?" Taiyō asked as he gets back up on his feet as he moves his hands. "Where and what you have to do is will arrive in the form of a message from the board once we get out approval." Responded the researchers the scientist was finishing talking to the board with a smile on her face.
"What did the board say and what is with the smile?" Asked the researcher as he wrote a reminder on a sticky note. "The board confirmed of stationing Taiyō to one of the lesser cities. So Taiyō, anticipate a message from them in the day with everything and until then, just take a stroll in the lab and do bot touch anything." The commander type PROJECT simply nods as he ventures out to become familiar with the lab.
In the city of Valorant, a far cry of the neon lights and augmented future-scape of the city that is Arcadium, is much more closer to modern day, from the bustling streets to the calm commute of the people. In Solari Park was young lady in the uniform of Valorant High sitting on a bench, reading a book. Though trying to focus the contents, one image has been troubling her, the sight of a young man similar to her age shielding her from a flurry of magenta light, skewered from the many daggers flown but he stood, despite his body slowly dying, she felt a burning light within him but rapidly fading from his sacrifice. "Who was he?" She begins thinking. "Why did he hold such blazing light? Did he also answered the call? Why throwing it away to protect her?" As she ponders, her train of thought would be diverted by a familiar voice.
"Ey Fortune! What is with the long face?" Called a young man who had just finished his class work so he can go out on a walk in the park. Fortune looks at him and softly waves at him as she looks back to her book trying to return to her thinking, but by the look of her face, he realized the reason of her current mood.
"It is about him huh? The unnamed knight in shining armor." He responded as takes a seat on the bench. "What happened there wasn't your fault, you did your best to save him but it was to much for someone who is not like us."
"You know that something is special about the guy." Fortune retorted, "When seeing him dying, I saw in him the star light within, and I saw it within, burning bright just like ours." She explained as she looks out towards those who were not chosen or not answering the call enjoying their own lives. "He must've left a huge impression on you then. Humanity here are just full of surprises, and what you have said actually reminds me of this dude when I was out venturing." Said Ezreal as he was flipping an old coin.
"The Unbreakable Spear?" Answered Fortune, guessing from the many stories that her friend has told her.
"Exactly. Fact his human spirit reignited the powers of a god still astonishing, and he deserves mad respects." Said Ezreal as he gets up. "We should get home before it is night. Can't have Ahri call us out for being late, she does care about being punctual."
"You are right, and if somehow we see him again, making sure that I tell him thanks." Fortune said as the two gets ready to head home. But at home, Ahri is sitting front of the television watching the news, slightly troubled of what had happened months ago. Soraka cradling a dying man as she attempted to heal him, tears streaming from her eyes as she tries to restore him to full health, but his life slowly waning, yet he gently wiped off the tears and quietly asking her for something. Usually it is them who protected the universe, and to see some random person to just give his life away to just protect one of them made her wonder of the potential someone can do and show even without being given the power of the First Star.
"Can't sleep?" said the voice of a woman, throwing Ahri out of her train of thought as she turns to see Syndra in her light purple pajamas, with her magical mediums Multi just drifting around her.
"You can say that." Ahri responded as she looked back at the television. "The guy made a choice and it costed him his life. We are reborn again and again, someone like that dude can't." Said Syndra as she looks into the fridge to have a snack before she hits the hay.
"But it's the little things that can change but I also worry for Soraka." Said Ahri as she turns off the tv and gets up readying to head out, "Fact it is the first time that someone died, but dying in her arms... I can tell that it really shook her up, so I am going to see if she needs a boost." She added.
"You know the type of person Soraka is. As horrible it may sound, but that guy's death needs to serve a wake up call for her that she can't save everyone." Responded Syndra as Ahri heads out to find Soraka.
Across the skies there is Soraka, flying across the night as the only sound is the flapping of her angelic wings. Shisa, who is Soraka's small magical medium manifested, seeing if his companion is alright, and of course no emotion expressed, showing a facade of stoicism. Usually he will be frustrated towards her for her trusting nature but what had happened, he knows that sometimes showing frustration can worsen than helping.
"I am alright Shisa, just... I just need to clear up my head." Said the healer, catching Shisa off guard as she pets him while letting out a slight smile. But that smile was turned to worry as she saw the minions of the darkness taking shape and so she flies to fend them off with Shisa in tow.
