Chapter 1 - First Sequence: An Unfamilar Reunion
All I see is the sky, above the clouds as the sun rises above the horizon leaving the sky a warm collage of colors, and I feel something like it had happened before. Then I saw it, five streaks of light passing by, each one blazing behind a color all to their own. I was confused, were they comets descending from space? Were they aliens arriving the land below the sea of clouds? But then I saw someone, she was sleeping, unaware of what is happening, so with no time of thinking, I dove, trying to reach to her. The faster I dove, I began to feel a burning within my core as tiny pieces begins flaking off, a blackish red mist flying out the closer I was to her. I was so close to grabbing hand, I felt something recoil, and I was sent flying away, both her and the other four rapidly fading away into the sea of clouds as my vision slowly becomes clouded in a veil of black.
"We're bout to pass by Valorant city." Said the pilot as he spoke through the speaker, which made Taiyō to wake up from his sleep where he got up and stretched. "Another vision... and just like last time, it felt so real..." he wondered as he got up and looked out at the window to look at the city, silently admiring the simplicity that Valorant City holds where the neon riddled city Arcadium did not.
"Taiyō... Taiyō? Can you hear me?" Said a voice which snapped the commander type PROJECT's gazing at Valorant city and turns back looks at his helmet, where he would walk and grab it.
"I hear you." Taiyō responded as he puts on his helmet as the voice of the researcher becomes much more clearer. "Satellite imaging shows that there is Void movement in Valorant city." Said the researcher as on the cyborg ninja's heads up display shows a portal near Solari park.
"We are sending out a suppression team so stay put in the pl~"
"Pilot, open the hatch. I will stall this until the team arrives." Taiyō interrupted the researcher as he rips open a weapon cache and pulls out a pump action, rotary magazine fed shotgun that and some high explosive grenades that are made from PROJECT Corp's weapon manufacturer, World Marshall. The researcher choking on the coffee in his mug as he begins to hastily but panickily type and send code to Taiyō.
"Are you serious!? Reminder that you are still fresh off of the assembly line! Y-you're combat protocols are not ready, you're energy shielding is not active! You WILL NOT last a minuet in there!" Yelled the researcher while Taiyō holsters the rifle over his back and placing some magazines and the grenades on his belt.
"Better then ignoring them and letting them run rampant down there." Said Taiyō as he pulls down on the lever to the ramp, where once the ramp is open, he sees a storm starting to take form due to the portal's influence in the surrounding area.
"If you really want to do this then it's your funeral then, can't argue with that." Said the pilot as Taiyō grabbing some med-kits before jumping out and dives down into the heart of the storm.
The rain falling harshly as creatures of the void begins to crawl out of the portal, Soraka now seeing them caused her heart beat to slow rise. "I can do this", She told herself as she readies the staff in her hands as she lands, her wings folding in so she will not trip on them. One of the void born, a Rift Herald saw her and charged, but in a single leap, Soraka was in the air, spinning her staff as a weave of star light takes shape and follows the movements as it lashes at the creature, burning the Herald's carapace as it recoils. But as the Star Guardian lands, another yet small void born creature tackles Soraka, it's sharp barbs slashing at her abdomen. She falls back, holding onto her stomach as she feels the burning pain as she gets up and spun her staff, with the weave of light following suit, it vaporizing the creature that injured her.
"I should've mentally prepared myself when I got here..." She said to herself as she fends off the void creatures as she keeps the injury closed. But more of them spawn from the portal faster than she can destroy them and as she continued fighting, she begins to feel lightheaded as the wound bled even more, unable to concentrate the starlight to heal her. Shisa angrily chattering at his guardian to flee. "I... I shall flee Shisa." Said Soraka but before she can flee, was struck by one of the claws of the Rift Herald, sending her flying and crashing into a tree, splintering it upon impact. Now on the ground, coughing from the sharp pain, Shisa tries to get Soraka back on her feet as more void monsters starts to surround the two. With tears slowly taking shape, she silently prays for her fellow guardians to arrive as the Herald prepares to deal a killing blow and as it did, the roaring blast of a shotgun is heard as the glowing hot pellets pierces into it's carapace. Staggering from the strike as the pellets burns in, the PROJECT will land on top of it's carapace as he fires another slug into it while leaping off of it, leading to an explosion of chitin, void infused flesh and blood as the Herald falls over dead.
Taiyō lands on the ground, the void creatures looking at him as they have never. "Taiyō! You are to abandon the area immediately! That is an order!" Screamed the researcher as Taiyō will simply mutes him as he focuses on suppressing the portal, but his helmet detected Soraka who is in critical condition. Holstering his shotgun, Taiyō runs to Soraka as Shisa got in between of him and her, not wanting any more harm to come to her but Taiyō will simply move Shisa aside as he pulls out the med-kit and opens it up, and checks her pulse on where her radial artery is.
His H.U.D will display "TRGT_BLD_PRSR: LOW. Status: Feinted from blood loss" as he begins administering a stim-pack and the application of a stim-gel spray, and as he aids Soraka, Ahri arrives as she flings out a ball of starlight, vaporizing another void creature as she gracefully lands.
"Keep her safe as I close the portal." Said Taiyō as he finished wrapping Soraka's abdomen with dressing and walks past Ahri as he activates his arm blades, the edges glowing the same ultramarine blue that the small glowing parts on his body and helmet are. Despite not knowing Taiyō and usually is the one leading the charge, Ahri will nod and kept her friend safe, and then she will see Taiyō advance to the portal. With every swing that a void spawn swung, Taiyō responds by swiftly dodging the strike and either dealing swift slash of his arm blades, cleaving through the otherworldly dangers, striking them with the butt of his shotgun, bringing the creature down onto the ground and firing a round, launching pieces of other worldly flesh and dirt up into the air, or throwing out his two shurikens that were mounted on his shoulders, spinning streaks of ultramarine blue sawing through with such elegance and ferocity. Ahri cannot help to be awestruck of seeing Taiyō fight, having not only such methodical yet swift movements, but she snapped out of it as she continues defending Soraka and then something she will never expected to see, the creatures begins to fall back as Taiyō's armor is stained with their blood.
"Void-born creatures are falling back. Disband the suppressing team." Said Taiyō as he threw a grenade at the closing portal, seeing a flash just as it closed.
"YOU had a directive to stay in the transport plane! Do you not know HOW much you cost in making you!?" Screamed the researcher.
"Sending you report of combat log." Respond the PROJECT as he sends him the data. "You are to move to the marked area so you can picked up! DO not be sidetracked when you get there! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!?" Demanded the researcher as Taiyō simply lets out a single "yes" as he terminates the connection and turn to Ahri and an unconscious Soraka.
"Return back to your living space." Asked Taiyō as he swings his arm blade down, flinging the void born blood off of the blades before they retracted.
"But you never told me who you are though." Responded Ahri but Taiyō does not responded as he leaps to the marked area on his map. "Well there he goes..." She said as her magical medium poofs into existence and lets out some indistinct chittering.
"No Kiko, he's not "edgy" like Syndra, he looks very militaristic." Said Ahri as she changes back to the clothes prior to changing and gently piggy backs Soraka with Shisa resting on her head.
"Come on, let's head back home and tuck Soraka in to bed." She said with Kiko and Shisa nodding in agreement, but as they return home will wonder that when protecting Soraka, for a moment she saw within the PROJECT a feint glow of starlight which brings more questions than answers.
