Chapter 1 - Second Sequence: A Dreamful Reunion

Taiyō finally leapt to the destination marked on his hud's mini-map as he saw the personnel carrier slowly descending to the ground, baring the PROJECT Corp's sigil on the side door, and once it lands, the side door open as a team of lesser PROJECTs runs out and surrounds Taiyō, Lightcaster rifles aimed at him.

"My how the board will enjoy hearing this." A voice of a woman as she steps out of the carrier as two of the lesser PROJECTs cuffs Taiyō.

"Commander Katarina, detecting potential unknown coding within this Commander-Type." Said one of them as the haul Taiyō into the carrier where she simply responds to the one asking the question with a "no" in the form of a nod.

"Based on the data that the scientist and researcher that supervise him sent me, it warrants investigating even further." Katarina respond as she takes a seat in the carrier next to the pilot of the personnel carrier.

"Is the target secured?" Asked the pilot as Katarina puts on the seatbelt.

"You're right pilot, now, it's time to head back to Arcadium."

-13 hours later-

The personnel carrier lands on the helipad where the floor will open up and it descends down into the hanger. As it descends, Katarina gets out of the seat and walks up to Taiyō who has been sleeping through out the entire trip.

"Usually a PROJECT that is on the same ground with Zed never sleeps." Said Katarina as she grabs a scanner to see what if there is anything that is making Taiyō's system and subroutines, and sure enough something is being picked up on the scanner.

"Take him to the labs and contact the people who are working on him." Ordered Katarina as the PROJECT grunts nods and carry very lethargic Taiyō, and then she will get a message from the head of the board for the PROJECT Corporation which reads as follows:

"To: PROJECT Katarina

From: Viktor

Subject: IMPORTANT

Meet me in my office Katana, what the data and recording that I was given by the researcher that supervises the PROJECT Zed unit warrants a private discussion with him and you as well. Get here as soon as possible."

Katarina smirks as she reads the email and so she walks to a special elevator that is designed only for PROJECTs. And as Katarina is on her way to meet Viktor, the founder of the PROJECT Corporation, he is looking at the recorded footage that was forwarded to him, and what he saw not only an supposedly regular void portal suppression operation, the highly promising combat skills that Taiyō demonstrated, but was how the ninja PROJECT aided Soraka which is something completely new for him. The clothing Soraka wore, the staff in her hands, the angelic wings, and seeing Shisa for the first time being shoved aside so Taiyō can give her first-aid. "Those clothes, the magical look she radiates... looks familiar." Thought Viktor as he heard a elevator ding and out comes Katarina, spinning one of her dagger with one of her fingers.

"Did you forget of what I told you Katarina? No weapons in my office, the amount of time that I had to pay the carpenters to fix the damage is enough to make them work full time." Said Viktor after letting out a exasperated sigh. "Yeah yeah, I know Viky boy, gotta make it look all fancy and pristine." Katarina respond as she takes a seat, resting her feet on his desk. "So got any opinions about the fresh recruit?" She ask which Viktor will show her the footage.

"Quite promising, despite disobeying orders, what he demonstrated is on par of Zed's first day of combat testing. But this lady, out of the entire recording, this is something I have never seen before..." He said as he grabs a bottle of his favorite high quality scotch and two cups.

"Yeah, she kinda look like Soraka." Said Katarina which made Viktor's curiosity peak even further as he pours a glass for both himself and Katarina. "And what makes you say that?" He asked as Katarina accepts the glass and takes a sip.

"You know, old friend back in middle school before signing up for the PROJECT initiative." She responds as she sets the glass down on his desk. "She was always the type of person who just wants to make people feel better, but that to me is just a pipe-dream if I ever heard it."

"I find it commendable, actually... it is sort of like the corporation that I founded. Giving the people healing through technological advancements." He said as he takes a sip, looking out of the lights of Arcadium.

"By augmenting people with military grade parts and unknowingly creating a super virus that now is on-par of Ultron?" Katarina said with a snarky grin, which made Viktor choke on his drink and pulls out a paper towel to wipe off.

"That's more of me becoming beyond ambitious Katarina." Said Viktor as he sets his glass down on his desk with Katarina responding with a simple scoff as she finishes drinking, and she gets up and looks at the footage. "Care to see of what is making Taiyō unresponsive?" Katarina asked to which Viktor responds as a nod as he closes the video screen and he heads out to the lab holding Taiyō.

For Taiyō, he would wake up, but despite feeling lethargic is able to get up to see the scientist and researcher looking at several monitors to see what is causing the problem, and he waves at the two to see if he can get their attention but they do not respond, even if they looked up. He grows confused about them ignoring, even walking next to them and snapping his fingers at them does not warrant a response, until he looks up and sees his own body, chest cavity open as four robotic apparatuses constantly scanning to find the problem, but he cannot help but look at the real skin under the suit, riddled with scars as if he was impaled with multiple blades.

"Is that what I truly look like?" He thought to himself as he placed his hand on his shoulder and looking at the insides of his body, the Hex crystal core, his synthetic yet beating heart, and that is where he would see that the coupling surrounding the Hex crystal core is damaged. Taiyō once again attempts to get the attention of the staff, but once again they do not respond, and in his state of confusion, he hears a giggle from a little girl behind him and he turns around to see that there's no one there.

"Anyone there?" Taiyō spoke as he looks around, wondering of how a little girl got into PROJECT Corp's main building. He looked into every cabinate and cupboard to see if she was hiding but all he can find is nothing, and as he closes the cabinate door, he turns to see a bubble floating near his body. Now becoming confused, Taiyō walks up to it, questions now forming in his head, and soon he attempts to pop the bubble to see what reaction it may cause. But instead of a pop, he felt the tip of his finger will feel a sharp burning sensation and he pulls his hand back and grabs his finger. Once again, he will hear the laughter of the little girl but this time sounds more unhinged as the bubble bursts, unleashing a fog of black which will mask his vision. As the fog subsides, Taiyō will see himself in what appears to be an ancient building, and in it's center is a statue of a woman, praying to an unknown deity as a ornate cage entraps it with chains suspending said cage.

Yet he was unable to gaze upon the ancient archetecture as he saw flashes of magenta as daggers are flow at him, to which his augmented relfexes kicked in and dodged the streaks of purple which will dig themselves into the stone floor and fallen rubble. He continuosly evades from the barrage of daggers as he jumps behind a fallen pillar to which the barrage stops as he breaths heavily to catch his breath.

"I wonder why Zoe want you of all people, I just see you as a pile of fancy and rudamentary scrap." Echoes the voice of woman as Taiyō peeks out to see the attacker jumping down onto the floor, and there he sees her, a dress that holds a gemstone on her chest and what appears that legs were that of a bird of prey, with long magenta hair that barely shows constelations and stars trailing behind her. But the moment he saw her, his vision burls, and he begins to feel a sharp pain in his head like a knife digging into his mind as he grips the sides, but seeing the PROJECT in pain, the woman sees the oppertunity to which, in one swift motion of pulling her arm back, all the dagger that dug into the rubble and ground to flies back towards her, making Taiyō to be in storm of glowing blades, and despite wearing a suit of PROJECT's most advance armor, it and the energy shield were not enough, and the blades of the daggers easily cuts through it, leaving behind scratches and cuts.

Now reclaiming her sharp feathers, she will see Taiyō slowly getting back up, his combat suit now damaged from the barrage with webs of hexagonal energy covering the wounds, but it was at the moment of Taiyō taking off his helmet, her eyes widen as she will a familiar face under that now damaged helmet.
