I was sitting in a fairly normal coffee shop waiting for Kaede to arrive. It was called the Crème de la Café and was just fancy enough that you could sit in it for a while to relax but not enough so that one felt the need to dress up or anything. A standard albeit very nice coffee shop that could be found anywhere in Mustafa.
"Do you need anything else sir?" The waitress asked with a strained voice. She appeared clearly on edge and was jumpy at my every movement.
"Yes, that'll be it. I'm just here waiting for a friend. You don't need to attend to me or anything I promise." I responded, trying to be as gentle as possible.
I went here because of my father's recommendation. It was only when I got here and noticed how stressed the employees looked at my arrival did I go check what the parent company of the Crème de la Café was on my phone. Unsurprisingly the Midoriya Conglomerate directly owned the cafe. I wasn't really surprised. Even without taking into consideration the Clan's vast resources the Midoriya Conglomerate was by far the largest privately owned company in Japan and competed with several other companies for that spot worldwide. It wasn't called the Midoriya Conglomerate for nothing. It had its hands in nearly every industry imaginable including cafes.
I sighed. I would have already left if this wasn't where I'd agreed to meet Kaede. It wasn't that big of a deal I supposed but it was annoying. Even when I was young I always hated sycophants. Makes me wonder how Kacchan dealt with them for all those years. Then again she actually had to grow up and learn the difference between genuine praise and empty words. Although I supposed it probably helped that a lot the kids' praise for her was quite genuine even if it was almost always somehow linked back to her quirk. Thankfully as far as I could tell she didn't associate with people who acted like that anymore.
I heard a bell ring which signaled that the front door had been opened. Kaede walked into the cafe looking around for me so I raised my arm to wave at her. She quickly came over to my table and seated herself. Kaede was wearing a simple green shirt with a white ruffled skirt. She held a large purse to one side. Overall she looked like a typical teenage girl albeit rather beautiful in a cute way with the overly large purse standing out against her small frame.
"Lord Izuku, it is a pleasure to see you again." Kaede said as she bowed slightly in her seat.
"Please, just Izuku. Anyways, what did you want to talk about? From our last conversation it sounded as if it was something important." I asked. While she hadn't demanded anything from me she sounded quite firm when she asked to meet me today.
"Yes Izuku. Just give me a moment." Kaede responded before pulling out a paper talisman, an ofuda, in front of her. Her hands began to dimly glow, which traveled into the talisman making the inscription on its surface light up for a second before the talisman burned up in her hands. A green translucent cube of light seemed to form around us. "Ok, now we can talk."
"A barrier?" I asked, making an educated guess.
"Yes, a simple ward that prevents sound from leaking and makes us far more inconspicuous to any outside observers." She said with a small grin. It appeared as though she was quite proud of the ward. "However, that is not why I asked you to come today. Here, take a look at this." She began pulling out some papers from her big purse and slid them over to me.
The papers seemed to be a report made on one Alphonse J. Rupert. He looked like a handsome germanic man with far too pale skin. At the top of the report in big bold letters I could see "DEAD APOSTLE THREAT REPORT". I wasn't sure I liked where this was going.
"A week ago several reports came in about cases where the victim's body was drained dry of blood. This is highly suspicious behavior and is almost always indicative that a newer Dead Apostle is in the area and further investigation proved this true. This report was compiled by the Catholic Church and was given to the HCC when the Dead Apostle with the same characteristics showed up in the area." She explained.
"Ok. I see. I know I'm new to all of this magic stuff but my tutors have already gone over this. I thought that the HCC or the Clan would cooperate with one of the Abrahamic faiths to send kill squads after any confirmed Dead Apostle sightings." I replied.
"That is true but your father has already personally taken over the task of hunting this Dead Apostle." She clarified.
"My father? If he's taking care of this then I don't see why you're talking to me." I replied.
"You don't understand. Your father hasn't taken part in a hunt against anything less than an Ancestor in decades. Furthermore this Dead Apostle specifically is from England and had no reason to come to Japan. While they can't prove it, the HCC believes your father transported the Dead Apostle here." She expounded.
"What, why would he do that?" I asked bewildered.
"The HCC believes your father wants you to gain experience fighting supernatural foes." She answered.
"You've gotta be kidding me. Surely there are other ways to get me experience besides transporting a vampire all the way from England." I incredulously said.
"That is one of the largest files the HCC has ever received from the Church on such a weak Dead Apostle. The Apostle had several engagements against the Church's exorcists and his capabilities and tendencies have been clearly outlined. In essence he is a known entity that your father deemed suitable for giving experience." She explained.
"But you said the Apostle killed several people already. Why would my father allow that?" I asked very confused.
She must have seen my confusion because her eyes widened for a second before she said, "You really don't know. Do you know why The Amairin was founded?"
"No, whenever I ask about it my tutors tend to skirt around the issue, but I've been able to piece together that the Clan's focus seems to be on stability so if I had to guess it would probably be related to that." I responded.
"Quite close. The Amairin or the Red Wheel got its name from one its founders saying that he would bring peace to Japan even if he had to bloody the Wheel of Reincarnation. The Clan was formed by several families in the wake of the Quirk Revolution. At the time the Moonlit world was already in a great state of instability due to the death or disappearance of that generation's Campione. The Quirk Revolution just spread that instability out into the greater society. Japan's magical societies had already all fallen under the banner of the HCC by this point, so the Moonlit world was less affected than in other countries which paradoxically caused many mages to migrate to Japan which led to instability. Of course that wouldn't have been so bad if a powerful crime lord had not brought the new mages under his banner and organized them into a threat. The years following the start of the Quirk Revolution were a period of great suffering that caused several powerful families at the time to band together to create what would become the modern Amairin. Your grandfather Midoriya Ichika was one of the founding members."
"My grandfather? Wasn't Ichika my six time great grandfather?" I asked.
"To the public. Yes. In reality Midoriya Hisashi is considered by many to be the best mage currently residing in Japan. He has led the Amairin since his father was killed. At first when he inherited the position of head was one of first among equals. However many in the Clan desired peace and stability even more than their freedom and that Lord Midoriya had brought some sliver of stability to Japan was all many of them needed to give him more and more power over time. Eventually a few decades in, it became clear that Lord Midoriya had near complete control over the Clan but most decided to willingly follow him. Many of the generation from the Quirk Revolution are still alive as elders thanks to magic and most are still deeply traumatized by what happened during that time. That you have been declared as heir along with Lord Midoriya personally stating that he will step down within a few decades is startling to many."
"So my dad is over two hundred years old. Well, you learn something new everyday. But that hasn't gotten to my question" I called out.
"Yes, I was just laying out the background so you understand the gravity of your situation. But the reason why your father would allow people to die just so you can gain experience is simple. To lead the Amairin you need to be strong and if a few people die to pave your way then that is a small sacrifice to pay." She stated dryly. Distaste was written all over her face. Clearly she didn't agree.
"A small sacrifice? I thought you said the Clan was founded for peace and stability?" I asked.
"Yes, peace and stability for all of Japan. Right now society is in an era of prosperity it hasn't reached since before the Quirk Revolution. Before the Quirk Revolution society had little problems governing itself and most problems were those of supernatural origins. However society has become supernatural due to quirks. Before the Amairin was able to take control over society Japan had nearly devolved into constituent states ruled over by warlords. The only thing that kept that from occurring was that there was a strong unifying force within the underworld at the time. Even today once great nations like the US and China are but shadows of their former selves ruled by despots." She finished.
"Even so there must be some other way." I ground out. I couldn't really say I cared for the people who had died because of me but still they were dead because of me. Despite it not being my fault at all it was still my responsibility. I promised myself I was going to be a hero.
"You still don't understand." Kaede said, looking at me with pity in her eyes. She probably thought I was blaming myself for the death of those people. "The Amairin and to a lesser extent Japan as a whole are deeply scarred by what happened in the past. A few deaths is nothing in their eyes next to the continued safety and stability of Japan in their eyes."
"I see." Was my simple response. Then I'll have to take care of this Rupert before he can kill anyone else.
"Izuku." Kaede said as she looked at me with concern before morphing into a determined expression. "I will join you in the hunt."
"What, you'll be in danger and besides wasn't this supposed to be an experience for me?" I asked.
"Yes, but as the next head your strength is also that of your subordinates. Please. I may not be as physically strong as you but I am an adept practitioner of Onmyodo. I even have some runic knowledge." She said as she bowed her head to me.
I had no problem with getting her help. I was still quite new to the magical side of the world and had no idea how I would fare against a 'weak' Dead Apostle. Frankly I would accept all the help I could get.
"All right then. Welcome to the team then." I reached out with my hand as she started to raise her head and clasped her hand in mine and shook. My face turned serious as I was scouring over the report until I suddenly got an idea. "I think I've got an idea, meet me tonight." I ordered.
"As you wish." She responded, slightly dipping her head.
I was standing atop a bridge in one of the less reputable areas of Mustafa staring out into the Manaan river. The river was clean and translucent with me even being able to see the riverbed even with only the full Moon to provide light. Despite the river's sparkling beauty I was not looking at it. My gaze was instead focused on the katana in my hands. The Tsumaukari Muramasa's blade was horizontal to my eyes, giving me an undiluted reflection of said eyes. Behind me I heard the familiar patter of falling boots. Soon a man with unnaturally pale skin with blue eyes and blonde hair came into view behind me. It was Alphonse J. Rupert.
"A fine sword you have there." The man said in a distinctly English accent.
I lowered the katana down to my side and turned around to face the man. He was wearing a rather nice black coat atop an inner black vest with a white dress shirt and black tie being the final layer. He had a black bowler hat sitting atop his head and a long cane that he was slightly leaning on.
"It is a fine blade to use on a fine night like this." I replied with little emotion.
"Yes I agree. Although I have to wonder why a boy like you was allowed such a treasure." The man responded, sounding genuinely interested in knowing the reason.
"Ah that, I suppose you could hand that to nepotism. My father thought it would be a good gift for me so he gave it to me." I explained to the man.
"An expected yet still unsatisfying answer. I suppose I shouldn't have tempted myself into thinking any other answer might be true." The man said with a sigh, seeming truly downtrodden.
"If it makes you feel any better if I had no ability then I wouldn't have been able to pick up the sword in the first place." I assuaged.
"I suppose you're right but still, it is rather less exciting killing a boy rather than a man who would truly be able to give me a good fight." The man said even as his face morphed into a psychotic grin.
"How rude. You're making judgments of my capabilities without even fighting me yet." I said.
"Boy I may be young for a Dead Apostle but I've not survived as many encounters as I have with the Church without being able to judge my opponent's strength at a glance." He monologued.
"Fair enough I guess. I don't suppose you'll turn yourself in for your crimes and stop feeding off humans." I stated. Dead Apostles did not require human blood to survive although it worked best. Animal blood was required in larger amounts than human blood if it was to sustain them but many slaughterhouses nowadays purposefully collected animal blood to sell and more than enough of it was collected in a day to feed the entire Dead Apostle population for years.
"Boy, those among us who chose to live off of animal blood are cattle just like you humans." He responded with a sneer. Not unexpected. Most Dead Apostles took a very similar stance.
"Then we are at an impasse. You want the Tsumukari Muramasa and I won't allow you to continue feeding off of humans." I said raising my blade into a defensive stance.
His dismissive attitude vanished, replaced with a look of complete contempt before he said, "Stop me? Know your place, you worthless human!" And he took off at a blindingly fast pace.
His cane came in an overhead swing almost faster than I could react. Almost. I countered by swinging the Muramasa blade directly at the vampire himself. The cane hit my blade on its way to my head and was sliced in two as easily as a knife through butter. Unfortunately Rupert noticed that his weapon was compromised before I could cut through him and pulled away. Luckily I was able to cut his right hand off.
"Argh! How dare a mere human destroy my favorite cane! I'll string your intestines along a fence!" The fledgling vampire yelled.
The vampire came again but this time it was faster than I had the ability to react to. He kicked me ten meters off the bridge onto the path that led to the bridge itself. I brought myself up and felt the injury caused by the kick. Several of my ribs were cracked but luckily nothing that would hamper my fighting capabilities. Thankfully my durability was increased as well by my pseudo quirk training so instead of instantly dying I was just bruised. The Dead Apostle was walking toward me slowly and methodically. So I turned around and started running.
"You can't get away from me boy! You're already as good as dead!" The vampire exclaimed.
Was this guy really giving me a you can run but you can't hide speech? I mean he was already such a stereotype that it would have made me cringe if this wasn't a life or death situation. I kept running for a good few minutes before I had gotten to where I had wanted to go. I stopped in the middle of a field. A soccer field to be exact.
"So you've finally accepted your fate. An admirable quality so few humans display before their untimely demise. I must applaud you." The vampire said as he clapped his hands.
"No, I wouldn't say that exactly. More that I'm surprised you actually fell for it." I said with a grin. "On your file it said you had an unnatural interest in collecting artifacts and that you had often had a hard time understanding electronics but this worked too well."
"What the hell are you talking about? Have you gone insane? That'll make your blood far less tasty. How disappointing." The former human stated with faux disappointment.
"Insane. I prefer uniquely different." I said with a huge grin adorning my face. I put both of my arms out as if embracing the sky.
Suddenly the stadium lights which had lain dormant turned on. Kaede was inside the control station that controlled the lights. Rupert had been a Mystery Mage before turning into a Dead Apostle and most mages that used Mystery Magic had a reputation of not understanding electronics of any kind. I had wanted to lay a more magical trap at first but Rupert was a first rate mage and would notice before the trap was sprung. So I had Kaede lay only a single simple runic ward around the field. One that Rupurt saw and immediately ignored. Thankfully he was underestimating me and due to his mage upbringing was far less wary of anything of non-magical origin. So Rupert was now standing in the middle of a field with every single stadium light turned on to max intensity. His skin was already boiling and if that wasn't enough little sprinklers popped out from the ground and started spraying water as well.
"Arrrrgghh. I'lll killll yoooooou!" Rupert screamed at me with his skin boiling and popping.
He sprinted toward me again abandoning all thoughts of retreat as the single ward that Kaede had set up only did one thing. Prevented the two combatants from stopping the fight so long as both parties remained alive. The Ath nGabla had existed since ancient times and was activated on sight. Rupert was able to see it due to his strong mystical senses. He probably hadn't thought much of it since he couldn't sense any other magics being used in the vicinity and to be fair there weren't. Unfortunately for him his fate was sealed as soon as he saw the runes.
When he approached to kick me once again he was far slower this time and I was able to block his boot using my blade. The kick was still strong enough to send me backwards several meters. I reformed my stance in an instant while Rupert nearly dropped to his knees thanks to all the light and water.
"What happened to all the bravado you had a second ago? Aren't you going to kill me and string up my intestines!" I yelled at the losing Dead Apostle.
That seemed to bring him out of his stupor as he charged against me again. This time he used his remaining left hand in a swipe to take off my head. Even being bogged down by the water he was still very fast. It would seem that he had stopped underestimating me because as soon as I sent the Tsumukari Muramasa to cut off Rupert's hand his arm unnaturally twisted out of the way of my blade. Taking advantage of my blade now being out of the way, his right knee shot up and hit me in the stomach sending me reeling back. I had to tilt my head out of the way of his follow up strike using his handless right arm. My blade swung up to take advantage of his overreach and cut right through his right shoulder disarming his right side.
Now he was down a whole arm and the longer the fight kept going the more his DNA would degenerate due to the light. Physically Rupert now stood little chance if this kept up for much longer. So instead of continuing the pointless physical contest Rupert jumped back from me and made his remaining hand into a finger gun and started shooting black bullets at me. I used my sword to intercept every single one of these. Its conceptual nature as a magic sword allowed it to cut even pure magic. From the darkness emanating from them I could tell they were curses along the same line as the Gandr. The shots that I didn't cut and missed me started eating through the ground as though they were made out of acid.
This wasn't good. My options at range are limited. I was hoping I would be able to finish the battle before the vampire would switch to magic. I did make a plan in case this happened but I've only got one shot at it. Well there's no time like the present.
I started sprinting at the vampire with all my might. I batted off any incoming curses using my blade in my right and took out a paper talisman Kaede had prepared for me in my left. I bit my thumb hard enough to draw blood and pressed it into the paper talisman. The talisman started glowing and then dissolved into ash like it had been burned up. A green sheen of light appeared around me and I kept sprinting until I reached the vampire. The vampire seemed delighted that I had been coming closer until the green sheen of light appeared around me. His smile disappeared and he locked up. He tried to run away but the Ath nGabla didn't allow such cowardice so instead started running toward me to lunge at me.
I ignored his left hand now covered in darkness as he lunged at me. We finally met with his left hand plunging through my abdomen and my sword cutting right through his neck. His head fell to the ground with a plop.
The vampire looked up at me and his headless body from the ground before very weakly asking, "How?" Then his body and head faded to dust as if they had never existed in the first place.
I fell to my knees shortly afterward, a hand clutching my abdomen with the other using my sword to steady me. The talisman had been a spell to ward off curses. Specifically the kind Rupert liked to use. It only lasted thirty seconds but in that time frame none of the curses he sent out would stick to me. That being said he still had the strength of a vampire so my abdomen was nearly punched through. Had he been at full strength he could have dodged my own attack and his attack likely would have gone straight through.
"Lord Izuku!" Kaede yelled out as she ran up to me. She knelt down and did a few hand signs along with a short chant causing her hands to become surrounded in a faint green light. "That was reckless. You could have died." She applied her hands to my wound and the green light surrounding her hands spread out over my abdomen.
"But I didn't." I said with a strained smile.
"No, you didn't." She gave me an as soon as you're healthy I'm so lecturing you look. "But that is no excuse. What if you had died? I wouldn't have been able to help you because of the Ath nGabla." Finally her hands stopped glowing and we both rose. Her concern fading into anger now that my wound was healed.
I put the Tsumukari Muramasa back within its sheath and looked at Kaede. "I made a decision based on what I thought had the highest chance of working and then did it. If I had to do it again I would. I'm not sorry that I did it but I am sorry that I caused you to worry." I said as sincerely as I could muster, giving a bow near the end.
"Hah, I suppose I should have expected this knowing you. I never liked the plan in the first place." The brunette sighed, her anger having been extinguished for the moment. "At least promise me that you take into consideration your position before you do something so dangerous again."
"I promise." I told the Hime-Miko looking her in the eyes.
"That's probably the best I'm going to get out of you so I'll take it but don't think that we're done here. You still obviously don't understand the value of your life yet." She sternly told me with a cute pout.
"In that case why don't you come down to the dojo I train at sometime. I already get enough lectures there I might as well get some more. Besides, I'm sure Kacchan and Kirishima will like you." I cheekily said with a small smile adorning my face.
She seemed a little surprised at my invitation as her eyes widened a fraction and she stilled for a moment. She cleared her throat before saying, "I humbly accept your invitation Lord Izuku."
"Just Izuku." I responded.
"As you wish Lord Izuku." She quipped back.
So she was still angry.
"Is there anything else that needs to be done?" I asked, hoping to redirect her anger.
"No, the Committee will begin cleanup as soon as I report the Apostle's death." She said.
"Well you wouldn't happen to have a spare jacket on you would you?" I asked hoping that I could use it to cover up all the blood on me. Kaede shook her head in the negative. Hopefully I can sneak past mom when I get home. "That sucks. Well I gotta get home. Mom gets angry when I don't get home before midnight on school nights." I told the shrine maiden before starting to move and promptly almost fell over. Luckily she was there to catch me.
"Be careful. I used a low level healing spell that only speeds up your natural regeneration. All the energy for that comes from your own body." Kaede scolded.
"So just like Recovery Girl's quirk. Cool." I responded just now feeling the tiredness seep through my body now that the adrenaline had stopped pumping through my body. "Hey I can barely move now. Is that normal?"
"Considering how bad your wound was I'd say that you got off easy. The spell has built in limiters and will stop once it takes too much energy. However, considering that the spell was built for first aid, that limit is near black out levels of energy." She explained.
"Say you wouldn't mind helping me get back to my house would you?" I asked, having already reached my limits.
"Not at all Lord Izuku." She said as she moved to support me as we started walking toward my house. I sighed but said nothing.
We walked in silence for a few minutes before I thought of something and let out a low chuckle.
"Lord Izuku?" Kaede asked in confusion.
"Sorry. It's just that I helped you in the same way when we first met. I just wasn't expecting to have the favor paid back so soon." I explained with a smug grin adorning my face.
"Ahh, please forget about that Lord Izuku. That was quite a bad first impression I gave off. Even more so since I was supposed to be guiding you." She said as she looked away from me blushing.
"Forget meeting you? Nah. I don't think I will. You're different from others Kaede. Never forget that." I told the brunette which only seemed to deepen her blush.
The rest of the walk back to my house was relatively quiet. By the end of the walk Kaede had started breathing hard as though she was doing some physically intense activity. While she wasn't fully supporting me she still was helping to steady me and while I wasn't some macho muscle man the muscles I did have were very dense making me around 110 kilograms (240 pounds). Despite looking like I weighed 80 kilograms (175 pounds) max, I was quite heavy. Of course Kaede herself wasn't a very physical person in general. We soon arrived at my front door.
"If you can just get to my room I'll be good." I said. She nodded and pushed open the door.
We started walking toward the stairs up to my room until we heard a, "My baby!" And my mother came crashing into the hallway. I sighed. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid.
"Hisashi! Come here! Izuku's hurt!" My mother screamed out and received a muffled, "Coming." From my father.
My mom was already all over me trying to check my wounds until my father finally came into view. Took one look at me and said, "So you took care of the pest problem and I didn't even have to ask. What a good son."
My father had a huge smug grin on his face for all of five seconds before my mother pulled his ear and authoritatively said, "Pest problem? You know why Izuku is hurt. Talk."
"Ow ow ow. Yes dear. You see a Dead Apostle happened to wander into Mustafa and it seems our heroic son took it upon himself to kill said Apostle." My father's grin still hadn't disappeared despite his head being on the same level as my mother's despite the fact that they were separated by a foot in height.
"Impossible. Nothing wanders into Mustafa without your approval." My mother looked mad, very mad. I could hear the tightening of her fist around my father's ear.
"Ok, ok. I wanted Izuku to get some experience fighting Dead Apostles so I found and transported one he could defeat to Mustafa." My father quickly explained.
"You what?!" My mother screamed.
"Lady Midoriya I apologize for allowing Lord Izuku in such danger but Lord Midoriya had already stated to the HCC that he would personally take care of the Dead Apostle himself. I provided as much support as I was able and all of the injuries Lord Izuku sustained have been healed by me." Kaede spoke for the first time in the conversation with a bow to my mother.
That seemed to calm down my mother somewhat as she turned to Kaede and bowed back before saying, "Then I must thank you for taking care of my son." She straightened back out and took Kaede's hands into her currently free one. "You are always welcome in this house. Please come by sometime."
Kaede seemed to get a bit flustered before nodding and saying, "Thank you Lady Midoriya but I did not do much to help."
"Nonsense I can tell you're a hardworking girl. I'm sure you helped reign in some of Izu's eccentricities." My mother replied.
"This is nice and all but I really need a shower and then some sleep. I'm about to fall over as it is." I said with all of the nicety I could offer in my half dead state.
My mother turned to me with an angry look about to scold me until she saw how ragged I looked and allowed it to pass. For now. I took a shower then immediately went to sleep hearing my mother berating my father. Heh. Whipped.
I was in a white void of nothingness. I couldn't see anything except a black dot in the horizon. Seeing as I had nothing else to do I started walking toward the black dot. I walked and walked for what seemed like hours but I had no way to tell as the only thing that changed was the fact that the black dot on the horizon was growing ever bigger. Eventually I reached the black dot. Now it was a sphere of pure black about a meter across. Running all around its outside was dark red text in a language I didn't understand. I felt an urge to touch it upon seeing it up close. So I did.
Reddish-Black miasma poured from the sphere onto my hand sliding down my arm and then swallowing me whole. The miasma surrounded me completely with the outpour not stopping. The lines of unknown text seemed to now be written on my skin as though I had been tattooed except that these tattoos didn't stay in place and kept crawling along my skin. The miasma felt strange on my skin but the tattoos burned like thousands of pins and needles were being pressed into my skin. I screamed but no sound was heard. Suddenly the miasma stopped for a second before it started flowing straight into my open mouth at a terrifyingly fast pace. I tried to close my mouth again but the miasma was like a thick sludge that pushed open my jaws.
I had no choice at this point so I put all my focus into enduring the pain until whatever this was stopped. For what seemed like for a far longer time than what it took to get me here the writing flowed around every part of my body and the miasma flowed into my mouth until it stopped. The miasma had finally run out and the black sphere that had been there before was now gone and the scarlet language faded from my skin. I dropped to my knees gasping for air.
"SO YOU SURVIVED ALL THE EVILS OF THE WORLD. INTERESTING. I WILL WATCH WITH GREAT ANTICIPATION." A rumbling was felt everywhere.
I was startled awake. I don't why but I felt something ominous had just happened. The only problem was that I could barely remember my dream. I hope it wasn't something important. Well it's just a dream, how important could it be?
A/N: And so Izuku's first fight against the supernatural concludes. The Nasuverse is the next cross with this shared universe. Now obviously the Campione and Nasuverse magic systems are different and this will be explained later.
Now I feel Kaede's info dump at the beginning is a bit much but it is necessary so I kept it in. Next the fight against the Dead Apostle. So as a first time writer I'm not sure if I portrayed the fight as well as I could have but I feel satisfied with it as is even if I feel as though it is a bit short. That being said I'm welcome to any and all criticism so please leave a review.
