Deal of the day,
double or nothing,
throw your dice blowing on them for luck,
put your cards on the table,
Dealer takes all,
wanna go again,
wanna wager your life
wanna tell a lie,
don't you know someone's always watching?
Pictures on the walls,
people talking,
whispering from their gilded frames.
Her and him,
him and her,
playing their little games behind closed doors.
They think no one sees,
think no one is watching as he tells her loves her,
that he wants to be with her,
that it's his first time as well.
Two truths and a lie,
only the lie is the one falling from his lips,
the lie is the one promising her forever
as she lets him touch her,
explore her deepest places,
discover her body,
lets him take her to a place she's never dreamed.
She's giving him her mind,
giving him her body,
giving him every part of her.
Strip poker,
strip tease,
she's on her knees,
his fingers running through her hair,
his voice promising her forever,
she's not realized he's bluffing,
she's not realized he's lying.
Now she's crying,
now she's lost it all,
the flip of a card,
the roll of a dice,
is the universe that cruel?
There's an empty place in her heart,
a place where he used to reside,
a place he's destroyed.
Full house, his dream,
not hers,
but he's found someone else to play with,
someone who doesn't think,
doesn't count
the cards as they fall on the felted table.
Double down,
take a drink and kiss the dice for luck,
she's taking control now,
she's dealing the hand now,
he's nothing,
just a lonesome loser now that he's been exposed,
twenty-one,
dealer wins,
she's laughing all the way to the bank,
knowing he'll never be able to bluff
his way through the game again.
