I was laying on the ground with labored breathing. My entire body felt like one giant bruise.
"Get up boy, we're not done yet." My instructor ordered me. Nowadays I only spend once a week with my combat instructor. He used to be with me everyday during my pseudo quirk training, but since I completed the training, I was allowed far more freedom in how I chose to improve myself.
"Ugh. You're too strong. I can't keep up. How much longer until I get stronger?" I asked in between grunts as I pulled myself off the ground.
My instructor's brow furrowed and he answered, "Right now I am considered a High Class being. You on the other hand are only at the peak of Low Class. In a few months you'll likely be within Mid Class and based on your current growth you'll likely hit High Class by the end of Highschool."
"That'll take so long. Is there any way I can get stronger faster? I barely won my fight against that Dead Apostle." I exasperatedly told the man .
"Yes, you are quite lucky to have won against Rupert. While he did specialize in research of artifacts rather than combat, he was still a Mid Class Dead Apostle. As it is though, I see no way to speed up your training. You do have great skill for someone your age and frankly almost supernatural instincts but that is about it. Most hardworking mages with your talent would already be at High Class. You on the other hand do not possess Magic Circuits, a Sacred Gear, or even a useful quirk. The fact that you are even growing as fast as you are without that is astounding." My instructor informed me.
"So I have no way?" I pressed my instructor through my gritted teeth.
My instructor sighed before beginning, "There is one way. From the records we have of the previous wielder of the Tsumukari Muramasa it is known that there are two ways to increase the blade's power. One can either form a contract with the sword or if your mental strength is unable to keep the blade contained then curses will start leaking from the blade."
"Then how can I form a contract with the blade?" I questioned.
My instructor just gave me a shrug before we went at it again.
Kaede Mariya was scared. Given her experience as a Hime Miko that didn't happen often. Despite nearly running her reserves dry, Izuku being knocked to the ground bleeding out and with Kunou being binded in place she didn't feel fear. Not until she felt it. Darkness consumed her magical senses. Curses upon curses flowed out of the Tsumukari Muramasa and into Izuku. The boy was surrounded by a flowing red-black darkness that seemed to move around him as if they were streams flowing off of his body. Romano stopped in her charge toward Kaede as she saw Izuku was already upon her. In a complete reversal Romano was launched across the destroyed room before hitting and crashing through several of the still standing walls.
Izuku charged after Romano with full speed reaching her in less than a second. Romano was being overwhelmed and was forced to start dodging as best as she could. Afterall, she had displayed no protections against curses beyond the Holy Magic she had used earlier so any cut could result in her being taken out of the fight with how much more potent the curses the Tsumukari Muramasa was now releasing.
"What's going on? I thought Izuku was able to wield the Tsumukari Muramasa without succumbing to its influence." Lady Kunou asked Kaede.
"I-I don't know. This has never happened before. His guts were nearly punched out before and this didn't happen." Kaede nearly wailed.
"We prepared for this situation so I have protective talismans on me that should be able to block the curses but my reserves are completely drained and they won't last long without a Mana supply." She informed the blonde haired kitsune.
Her talismans were made out of a combination of special ink combined with her own blood on special magically conductive paper. Since all blood contained Od it could be used to fuel the talisman. That was why even Izuku was capable of using talismans despite possessing no Magical Circuits to utilize his own Od. Unfortunately while blood did contain quite a bit of Od per liter, only a few ounces max were used on any one talisman so they didn't contain very much energy on their own. Thankfully since the talismans were made out of her blood and since she made them herself, she was able to supply any active talismans with her own supply of Od. Of course she couldn't use it now since any anti-curse talismans she had on her would last all of a second with how potent the curses Izuku was giving off without any input from her own reserves.
"If only I could get these bindings undone. Then I would be able to transfer some Natural Energy to you to stimulate your Od production." Kunou grumbled. Kunou was a notably skilled user in Senjutsu and as such had control over life force energies, one of which was of course Mana. The ability to stimulate Od production is one of the reasons Senjutsu users are highly sought after.
Romano came flying out of another partially destroyed wall before landing near Kaede and Kunou. The knight took no time before moving again as a crescent wave of black curses were flying toward her position. She was able to dodge out of the way, but since Kunou was unable to move, her bindings were clipped by the edge of the curses. Soon the two combatants had gone into another room inside the ruined building. Kunou appeared terrified for a second; before she realized that the curses had hit the ethereal bindings trapping her instead of her person.
"Kaede, do you have any anti-ward talismans in your repertoire?" Kunou desperately asked.
"Yes, but they are all far too weak to break the spell holding you. Especially now that I've run out of energy." Kaede replied.
"It's fine, just place any you've got onto the bindings. The curse that landed onto the bindings is eating away at the Spell Matrix. It's far less stable now and with a combined push from both our sides we could break me out." Kunou explained.
"The curse is strong enough to destroy a Spell Matrix being powered by the Mana of a Devil King? Are you alright?" Kaede asked fearfully.
"Don't worry, as a yokai I have natural resistance toward curses and it also helps that I'm Ultimate Class. Just start from your side and we'll get me out of here before the curse can do any damage." Kunou told the frightened Hime Miko.
Kaede straightened herself and breathed out, "Alright."
Kaede took out all of her anti-ward talismans. She used the very last of her Od to activate each of them, before placing them upon the ethereal bindings. Soon the bindings began to shake and crack before finally they broke into a thousands pieces and disappeared, losing their glow and cohesion.
"We don't have time to go slow, so this will overheat you, brace yourself. I'll make sure the excess heat doesn't hurt you, but there is only so much I can do." Kunou told the chestnut haired girl.
Kaede nodded and Kunou placed her hands upon Kaede. A bright blue energy flowed all around Kunou and into Kaede. At first it felt odd, then she started feeling warm and then hot. Usually Mana was taken into the body from the air and processed in one's Magic Core to become usable Od, which then flowed through one's Magic Circuits into a Spell Matrix, which utilized either Mystery or Faith as mediums to actualize the magic within the real world.
Mana and Od were not perfect sources of energy though, as when it flowed some of the energy was lost as waste heat, much like electricity. One's body gradually developed resistance against this, along with the mage in question becoming more efficient as they gained mastery over their own magic. This was a large problem for young and inexperienced mages if they utilized too much of their Od at once. In Kaede's case, while she had used a great deal of Od in quite a short amount of time, she was a skilled mage for her age and made sure not to use too much at once. Unfortunately, right now they didn't have the time to waste and so Kunou was stimulating her Magic Core directly to convert the Mana in the atmosphere into usable Od far, far faster than what was normally possible.
Right now Kaede felt as though lava was pouring through her veins as Kunou continued using her Sage Arts to refill Kaede's reserves. After what seemed like an eternity Kunou pulled her hands away from Kaede. Kaede stumbled and Kunou caught her.
"You alright?" The Kyubi asked the Hime Miko.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just need a minute." Kaede responded straightening herself out.
In the distance a distorted roar could be heard. Kunou looked toward Kaede.
"We might not have a minute. Hopefully your talismans will be enough to block the curses after which I'll be able to separate Izuku from the Tsumukari Muramasa." Kunou laid out the plan.
Kaede gave a nod of approval before they rushed toward Izuku's location. When they arrived they found a panting Romano, who looked like she was about to give up and an Izuku that looked ready to deliver the final blow.
"Kaede, now!" Kunou ordered the Princess Shrine Maiden.
Kaede activated the anti-curse talisman she had given Kunou earlier, causing a green sheen to appear around Kunou. Kunou charged right at Izuku, materializing a katana in her hand to block Izuku's strike. Far faster than even the empowered Izuku could move, Kunou took both of Izuku's wrists into her hands. Izuku started to thrash around while Kunou moved to remove the sword from Izuku's grasp. Only to realize something.
"He won't let go of the sword!" Kunou shouted in surprise. "He won't let go no matter what I do. I'm gonna have to cut off his hand holding the sword!"
However before Kunou could do that Izuku kicked her full force, which caused her to let go and fly backwards before landing on her feet again. She fell to her knees upon landing and an arm went to her stomach where she had been kicked. The area where she had been kicked seemed to be covered by a black goo that was rapidly evaporating, draining Kaede's reserves while doing so.
"Damnit, the curse somehow got through the ward." Kunou grit out. Luckily the ward also acted to destroy any curses that had gotten through, but some damage had already been done.
"That shouldn't be possible. The talisman was designed with the Tsumukari Muramasa in mind. The only way it should have gotten through is through the blade cutting through the Spell Matrix itself." Kaede said in confoundment.
"Well, it did. I'll just have to-" Kunou continued until Izuku decided to charge her.
Kunou brought out her katana again to block Izuku's attacks. Kunou wasn't on the backfoot for long as despite the earlier curse she was still the far superior combatant. Quickly she regained the advantage and cut off his hand. Izuku's wrist was cut through for a moment before the darkness reconnected his hand to his arm. Izuku gave off a terrible screech and lunged at a dazed Kunou with the Tsumukari Muramasa.
"Izuku! Please stop!"
I was standing inside an endless white void. It seemed familiar, so familiar, yet I couldn't put my finger on it. I look around and saw a small black dot in the distance. Having nothing else I could do I walked toward the dot. I walked and walked for what seemed like hours but I had no way to tell as the only thing that changed was the fact that the black dot on the horizon was growing ever bigger. Eventually the dot came into view as a man sitting upon a red chair watching a very old looking TV. The man sitting upon the chair watching the TV had black hair with brown skin and red markings all over his body with a red bandana over his hair and a tattered red cloth around his waist. Completing his ensemble were black bandages wrapped around his forearms and shins.
"So you finally made it here. Took you long enough." The young man told me.
"Huh?" I eloquently responded.
"Huh? Really? Why do I have to get stuck with you for a wielder? Man this sucks." The man complained.
"Wielder?" I asked before realizing. "You're the Tsumukari Muramasa! But if that's true then what is this place?"
"Wrong, well not completely. I ain't the sword. I'm what gives the sword its curses." The man clarified.
I went over what he had just said in my mind. "Then you're Ahriman."
"Wrong again. But closer this time. I'm Angra Mainyu, an aspect of him that was sealed in here with him around two hundred years ago." Angra Mainyu further explained.
"You're rather calm for a God of Evil." I plainly stated.
"Eh, since I'm sealed in here I'm not really affected by my Legend and I'm the aspect of Ahriman that took in All the Evil of the World so that others wouldn't have to suffer, so Conceptually, I'm actually a pretty nice guy for a God of Evil." Angra Mainyu told me.
At that moment I could hear the sounds of fighting coming from the TV that he was watching. Specifically it sounded like Romano and I fighting. Wait, that's right I was fighting her before I came here. How could I forget? Looking at the TV I saw things through what seemed to be my perspective. Everything seemed to be covered in a haze of darkness, but otherwise it seemed as though I was winning and Romano was being forced into a retreat.
"What's going on? I don't remember the fight going like this." I questioned.
"That's because this is what's happening right now." The god replied.
"How. I'm obviously not in control." I wondered out loud.
"While I may be a nice guy, Ahriman is not the same. He took control of your body and sent you here so he would have free reign." Angra Mainyu answered.
"Wait, how would Ahriman control my body if you're here? Wouldn't you merge together since you're the same entity?" I asked.
"Normally yeah, if two incarnations of the same god meet they will merge but the situation we have going is anything but normal. Technically I'm the soul of a human who gained a form of godhood through attaining a Legend so we can't merge despite sharing the same legend. Our Conceptual Natures repel each other as a human and god." The laid back god responded.
"Ok, then how do I get my body back then." I asked the incarnation of darkness.
"Well since Ahriman's in control right now it'll be pretty hard to get it back. You'd have to wait until he ends up getting knocked out like you to have a chance." The god said as he reclined in his chair relaxedly.
On the TV Ahriman was getting closer and closer to delivering a finishing blow to Romano. While I don't really care for her all too much, I shouldn't kill an innocent even if I'm not in control of my body.
"Is there any way to retake control faster?" I desperately asked.
Angra Mainyu looked over me for a minute before sighing, "Sure, but you'll have to make it worth my while."
"What do you want?" I asked, suspicion clear in voice.
"Oh, nothing too much. Just let me talk to you when you're back in control." The god laid out his surprisingly easy terms.
"That's it?" I asked surprised.
"Oh come now. My only conversation partner for the past two hundred years has been Ahriman and he's basically just an amorphous blob of evil. Let me tell you, doesn't make for a good conversation when your only talking points are about how much you want to kill everyone or how you want to toture everyone." Angra Mainyu cheerfully explained.
In reality it seemed as though Kunou had gotten out of the bindings and now she and Kaede were attempting to stop Ahriman. Ahriman was intent upon killing Kunou and I had no illusions that he wouldn't immediately go after Kaede. People who I had given my word to protect.
"Ok, ok just do whatever it is we need to do." I quickly said.
"Oho, what happened to all the suspicion from earlier? I thought you didn't trust me here." The evil god asked in a coy voice.
"I don't, but I don't have a choice. What do I need to do?" I answered.
Angra Mainyu clapped his hands together, "Excellent! Now then, all you need to do is give me some of your blood." The human turned god pulled out a sacrificial dagger, spinning it in his hands before coming to a stop and handing me the handle. I took the dagger.
"Ok now-" He started.
I plunged the dagger straight into my hand. Blood started gushing out of the open wound.
"Holy shit, I haven't even told you what to do yet! Whatever, this works." The surprised god sighed.
Everything went dark. Then everything came into focus again.
"Izuku! Please stop!" I heard Kaede yelling.
So I did. In the middle of my swing I halted the blade's descent.
'WHAT? NO! THIS VESSEL IS MINE!' I heard a loud distorted voice echo in my head.
'Not anymore.' I answered the voice.
I could feel a tugging in my head as Ahriman attempted to reassert control but he failed. He was still there so I had to fight him, but now I was nominally in control of my body. I quickly backed away from Kunou.
'YOU'RE CONSENT MATTERS NOT. THIS BODY WILL BE MINE!' Ahriman roared in my mind.
Yeah, how about no.
I took the Tsumukari Muramasa in my hand and began, "I call upon All the Evils of the World. Let this blood be a catalyst." I put the Tsumukari Muramasa's blade on my other hand and cut into it slightly. "And let this steel be the container." The blood falling from my hand all began flowing into the blade of the sword. "Let sanity and desire fall to the wayside. For I am the End of Reason!" The blade of the sword turned a blood red and the curses flowing through me all were pulled straight back into it.
"HOW DARE YOU! I AM THE END OF ALL THINGS! YOU WILL NOT CONTAIN ME!" The god yelled at me before disappearing back into the blade.
"Izuku?" Kaede asked shakily, sounding as though she was about to cry.
"Yeah, it's me, I'm back." I told the Hime Miko.
"Izuku!" Kaede yelled as she ran up to me and hugged me. I think she might actually be crying now. Crap what am I gonna do? I tentatively put my arms around Kaede to reciprocate the hug.
"Izuku are you alright." Kunou asked, looking on guard as she approached me.
"Somehow I was able to form a contract with one the gods sealed inside of the sword so he helped me retake control of my body." I responded.
"A god formed a contract with you? How did that happen?" Kunou asked, appearing genuinely surprised.
"Apparently he said that he just really wanted someone to talk to. He also said he used to be human so I don't know how truthful he was being." I told Kunou.
"A god that used to be human? Those are called Heroic Spirits and they aren't able to descend under normal circumstances and operate under slightly different rules to born gods. In this case, it makes sense seeing as how the last wielder of the Tsumukari Muramasa participated in the Final Heaven's Feel and it is said he used the sword to seal an incarnation of Ahriman within it. So in this case, you must have made a contract with the Heroic Spirit Angra Mainyu." Kunou said.
"Yeah, that's what he said his name was." I responded.
"I hate to ruin the moment and while I know that I'm not really in the position. I need help." Romano gritted out behind us. She had several curses all over her body and was obviously struggling to stay up.
Kaede seemingly heard Romano as she unlatched herself from me before saying, "I still have a few anti-curse talismans on me."
"No wait, I can handle it." I stopped her. I put the Tsumukari Muramasa out in front of me and the black inky curses flew off of her and were absorbed into the now red sword.
"Woah, when could you do that?" Kaede asked.
"Just now." I chipperly responded.
"Thanks." The knight breathed out, still sitting upon the ground. Even with the curses now removed from her person she still appeared heavily injured. "Well, I can't stop you three now since I can barely move, so whether you will seek your own deaths is up to you." The girl leaned back against a partially destroyed wall.
Behind us the building where the other fight had been taking place exploded into a stream of pure blue flames. We ran toward the now completely destroyed building to find Endeavor and Yasaka heavily battered fighting against an untouched man. The man had light brown skin with black hair that seemed to have a red tint. His eyes were a light amber color and he wore simple black shorts with a green shirt covering his chest. He had bandages wrapped around his fists and feet with slides being his choice of footwear. This was Davi Ademir, the fifth Campione. A complete battle maniac.
"Is this really it? Here I flew all the way across the Pacific just to get a good fight in and yet you are so weak. How disappointing." The Campione said to a heavily injured Yasaka. He rushed toward her to deliver a finishing blow before Endeavor could react.
I moved faster than I had thought possible even with my newfound strength granted by Angra Mainyu and intercepted the punch with my blade right before it was about to hit Yasaka.
"Oho, how did you get here kid? I thought for sure Marie had you three locked down." The Campione said as he was pushing me back with the weight of his fist. My feet were dug into the ground as I was sliding back leaving a trail. "Anyway this isn't your fight, so buzz off will ya?" He sent a knee into my gut in a motion so quick I couldn't register it and sent me flying. I was able to quickly land on my feet before charging again. Kunou was helping Yasaka stand by now and Kaede had gone to help the barely still awake Endeavor.
The godslayer turned back toward Yasaka, "Now then, where were we? Ah yes, you've wasted my time. Now convince me not to kill you. I hate being bored so you better-." I interrupted his monologue with another slash that he promptly blocked with his outstretched fist. "The hell is your problem. I told you that this wasn't your fight." The man gut punched and then kicked me to the ground before I was able to react again. He rested his foot atop my back to prevent me from getting back up again. I swung the Tsumukari Muramasa at his other leg which forced him to move off of me. I wearily dragged myself off the ground, but not before spitting out some blood from my mouth.
"I won't let you. I promised." I barked out.
"Promised?" The Campione asked, stopping in his tracks.
"To defend the innocent. No matter the cost." I proclaimed as I sped toward the godslayer.
The Devil King tilted his head for a moment as he blocked my attack easily, "A lie? No a half truth. There's another reason you want to fight me."
"What are you talking about?" I questioned.
"Ya see, one of my Authorities lets me tell when someone is lying, even by omission. You're not telling the whole truth. What could be so important that you'd be willing to fight me? Now I'm curious. Tell me." Ademir ordered me.
"You'll have to fight me to find out." I retorted.
A smile crossed the king's face and he replied, "Sure. You seem interesting. But if you bore me I'll kill ya."
Somehow I had redirected his attention to me. Now how the hell am I gonna keep him entertained? I didn't have any time to think about it as the man launched into a series of rapid jabs that I couldn't keep up with at all. Whenever I got sent flying he would come and attack me where I would land. There were no openings at all. The only thing that kept me in the fight was that he blocked all of my attacks directed at anywhere besides his fists and Kunou would sometimes help from the sidelines. I didn't stand a chance. The gap between us was far greater than when Romano and I before I was able to use the Tsumukari Muramasa to its full potential.
'Hey kid.' I heard a voice in my head
'Angra Mainyu?' I asked.
'Yep. Looks like the contract has finally stabilized so I'm able to speak to you now.' The laid back deity replied.
'Ok then can you help me beat this guy?' I questioned the god of evil.
'Well if you want to be able to have a real chance then you're gonna have to use far more curses than you currently are. Against a guy this strong you'll have to use so many that your body will shut down, permanently.' Angra Mainyu informed me.
'Is there any other way?' I hastily queried.
'Not really, you're on your own. Well at least you seem to be having fun. Hopefully I'll get a new contractee soon enough. Hopefully it won't take another two hundred years. It was nice knowing you I suppose.' The god lazily told me as he yawned.
Having fun? I realized I was smiling. Not a smirk or a faked grin but a huge smile spread across my face. This was a hopeless battle against an uncontestedly superior opponent that I should have no chance against and yet. I want to win. I raised my sword and ran toward the Campione.
"I see now." The godslayer said with a knowing grin spreading across his face. "You're just like me. Aren't you? Well then, show me your metal!"
We charged toward each other and I started with a feint. Ademir saw right through the attack and punched me in the face with a right hook. I took the punch and kept swinging my blade. Ademir was cut across the side before he was able to move out of the way.
"Interesting. Just sharp enough to break skin but not enough to deliver any real damage." The Devil King said as he touched the blood leaking out of his side with his hand. "Still you managed to cut me. Far more than I can say for anyone else here. I think that deserves a reward."
The Brazilian man disappeared from my sight. Learning from my previous experiences I turned to block his attack coming to my side.
The crazy man's grin grew, "What powerful instincts. Such amazing potential." He punched me again faster than I could react. I was sent flying.
Two huge columns of blue fire came flying into the Campione's position as I got up again. Even twenty meters away I felt like I was gonna incinerate from the pure heat alone. Both Endeavor and Kunou were attacking at what looked to be their strongest attacks. Soon they both were forced to end their attacks and out of the smoke walked a completely unharmed Ademir. Endeavor fell down to the ground completely out of energy and Kunou went to protect her mother. Fortunately the godslayer seemed to only be focused on me. We launched toward one another once again.
"You can't hide it from me. You love this." The Campione sent several rapid punches with me only being able to stop a minority of them. I was pushed back by every punch. "The thought that you might die. The adrenaline pumping through your veins. Every time you overcome your limitations and strike an unbeatable foe. You love it all."
He was right. I loved this. Fighting a supposedly unwinnable fight with only the slimmest chance of victory. I loved becoming more than who I was a day ago, an hour ago, a minute ago, a second ago. To break through the unbreakable was everything to me. More than some silly ideal of justice I loved this moment of wills colliding to create something new.
Now my smile was beginning to hurt from how wide it was stretching, "Of course! If your life isn't on the line then what's the point?"
Ademir hit my hand holding the Tsumukari Muramasa so hard that I let go of it. His grin was almost a mirror of mine, "Finally someone who gets it!" He reached and grabbed my head in one of his hands. "But you're still weak." I grabbed the arm holding my head and attempted to pull it off to no avail. The king looked back upon Kunou and Yasaka. "You made a promise to protect those yokai, correct?"
"I won't let you touch them as long as I stand!" I yelled. I had made a promise. One that I would go to any lengths to fulfill. I wouldn't allow the innocent to die.
Ademir threw me to the ground. "Chill kid, I like you. You've got spunk. So how about this. I'll leave this country alone but one day you'll have to fight me. A good deal right?" The Campione offered.
"Why?" I asked completely blindsided.
"Why? Because you have potential kid." The Brazilian snapped his fingers and a Magic Circle appeared below his feet. In a flash of light a battered Romano appeared in the circle.
"My Lord?" She asked.
"Good job Marie. While the yokai you told me about wasn't worth anything, at least this trip wasn't a waste of time. Now then." He turned back to me. "Come face me when I can call you a brother." Was the last thing he said before Romano and him disappeared in a flash of light. Now that it was over I felt all my energy leave my legs.
"Izuku!"
"Lord Izuku"
Both Kaede and Kunou came to my side and helped support me before I fell over.
"Thanks." I simply said before I blacked out.
I came to in a hospital bed. I felt good as new and got up off the bed. I walked up to the window only to see a red sky.
Well that isn't normal. So this must be the Underworld. Although I was wondering why I was in a hospital here rather than on Earth. Considering how good I felt despite the damage I took, it must have been because of some special service in this hospital.
"So you've woken up." My father spoke behind me as I was looking out the window.
"The Underworld?" I plainly asked for confirmation. How he had known I had woken up so soon was probably a question I didn't want answered.
"Yep, they have the best facilities for dealing with overloads of Divine Energy. I also made sure you got a Phoenix Tear to heal any lingering damage as well. You're lucky that the Fifth was holding back from using any of his Authorities." The old man answered.
"I thought the Devils were notoriously bad at healing magic?" I asked.
"That is true, amongst all of the supernatural races they are considered to have the best offensive capabilities but also the worst healing. But this is the Serafall Memorial Hospital and was already considered the best one in the Underworld and that was before the Leviathan died bringing even more funding and attention to honor her memory. " My further elucidated.
"I see. How did the talks go after I was knocked out?" I inquired.
"Quite well actually. In fact why don't come with me." The CEO motioned for me to follow him.
We traversed a few hallways until reaching a lobby area. Within it I saw both Kaede and Kunou talking to each other. Upon seeing them I walked up to where they were sitting.
"Yo." I greeted. Both immediately shot up and took one of my sides.
"Izuku are you alright?" Kaede asked.
"You gave us quite a scare there. Thank you for protecting my mother and I." Kunou thanked me and bowed her head to express her gratitude.
"I'm fine. Apparently there wasn't that much Divine Energy to flush out and my father gave me Phoenix Tear just to be safe. Besides, if I couldn't show that I kept my promises then how would I be able to convince your mother?" I replied.
"Yes, your courage to protect her against even a Campione when you didn't have to played quite a roll in helping seal the deal. Now the Kyoto Yokai will work directly with the Amairin." Kunou cheerfully told me.
"Wait, the Amairin? I thought that the discussion was for working with the HCC." I asked in surprise.
"Yes that was the plan as the HCC had a long history and was considered quite trustworthy but your actions convinced mother that the Amairin were the better choice." Kunou informed me.
Weird. I didn't hear any laughing from my father but I swear I could hear it in my head.
"Izuku, before you go any further I want you to meet someone." My father interrupted my grand reunion.
"Alright, who is it?" I asked my father wondering who it could be.
"Ah, well you see the Sitri family runs this hospital and I am currently the Contracted Mage for Sona Leviathan so Sona sent her daughter, the current heir of the Sitri to greet you." My father explained.
A young woman with black hair that looked oddly familiar walked into the room. Wait a minute, isn't that Momo Yaoyorozu? The young woman walked up to us. You know neither Kaede or Kunou have let go yet. Not that I'm complaining, but shouldn't they let go to greet an heiress.
"Greetings, I am Momo Sitri. Heiress of the Sitri clan. On Earth I go by Momo Yaoyorozu. I wanted to meet you because I had heard you were going to UA next year." Momo politely introduced herself.
"Yeah that's true. Are you going as well?" I asked the black haired Sitri.
"Yes, I was hoping that we could train together and get to know each other considering both of our positions." Momo explained.
"Sure, that's no problem. I train with others anyways. Just come meet me in Mustafa sometime." I told her as I attempted to reach out with my hand for a shake only to realize it was locked in place by Kunou.
Why do I feel like my life is going to get even crazier as time goes on?
A/N: So we finish up the Campione's Assault. I was actually going to make the fight go for only half the chapter but it didn't fit in the way I wanted it to so I expanded it. I was actually worried I wouldn't be able to include the Momo meeting because the fight was running long but it worked out well in the end.
I feel as though this chapter is a bit info dumpy but I like the way I explained the lore I set up so I feel it's acceptable as is. I completed this chapter in two days because I didn't like leaving the last one on such a cliffhanger for very long so hopefully the chapter doesn't feel rushed. If you feel as though you could provide any way to help the story leave a review.
So Ademir is very much a variation of Doni in that he cares about being entertained but is unlike him in that he is willing to wait if he believes that he can have better quality entertainment down the road.
I was actually unsure of what I was going to do with Momo when the story started but I eventually settled that I wanted her to be the Underworld connection.
Next Chapter: Train Till You Drop
Until next time signing out.
