the third chapter of my first ever 'Vampire Knight' fanfiction.
disclamation: I still don't own 'Vampire Knight' or even Zero's point of view in this fanfiction. if I did own at least the anime, I would so be whipping the producers of the show for ending the second and final season on such a tragic, heartbreaking and hateful note and would be more than willing to take over the continuation of the anime further into the manga and finally give my fellow Zeki fans the justice we deserve. but, let's get on with the fanfiction, for now.
At the dinner table at Kaien Cross's house, I had finally sat down with my so-called foster father and his daughter to a nice dinner. Then, out of nowhere, they had told me about an additional guest coming to the dinner table. Yuuki seemed to be the most excited about it.
Yuuki Cross: His name is Kaname. He's the one I told you about the other week, the one who came and saved from that scary vampire.
Although I was a little jealous of this Kaname, I could not deny that I knew perfectly well what kind of vampire she was talking about that day; it was definitely an accursed Level E vampire, the kind of vampire with no sense of reasoning and completely consumed by their own bloodlust. The same kind of vampire that, as a vampire who began his life as a human, I would no doubt turn into one day and probably kill my own beloved, Yuuki. So instead of acting on my jealous impulses towards this Kaname of my pretty little Yuuki's crush preemptively, I decided I would try to at least get Yuuki to have even a little bit more common sense towards her love for him if only to distract myself from my surprise jealousy.
Yours Truly: How would he have even been able to save you that day? Didn't you find it even a little bit suspicious that he was conveniently there that day?
I admit I was sort of jealous of him, but at the same time, I found it a bit suspicious, myself, that this Kaname was there to save my Yuuki from that Level E. It felt like it had happened a little bit like it was rehearsed. I did not know, but it almost sounded too good to be true.
Just then, there was a knock at the front door, and Yuuki jumped up and out of her seat.
Yuuki Cross: That's probably him right now.
Kaien Cross: Zero, when you see, I think you'll understand.
Yours Truly: Understand what?
Yuuki was back from her trip to the front door, and she acted just like she had brought a homeless kitten into the house as she pulled on someone's arms.
Yuuki Cross: Come on. Hurry, come in. Weren't you cold out there?
I watched her bring whoever it was in near the dining room doorway. Then, a mysterious hand patted her head and she squealed breathlessly. It was the exact same kind breathless she had always made me feel whenever she patted my head; the same kind of flawless I wish I was in her eyes.
Yuuki Cross (continued): Kaname. Kaname, guess what?
Then, I heard a male voice. No doubt it was the voice of my cute, little Yuuki's dear hero.
Kaname: What is it?
Yuuki then giggled the sexiest little giggle I had ever heard in my life. If only that giggle were directed at me.
But, upon seeing the face of my dear Yuuki's savior, I saw someone who looked like he was all too old for the love of my life. When I say he looked like he was too old for her, he looked as though he were even too much older for Yuuki than I already was.
He looked just like a university student. I was only a year older than my dear Yuuki, but still I could not believe she had that kind of taste in men. Granted, I used to have a thing for older women with large chests, but at least I grew out of that when I met my beloved Yuuki and fell in love for the right reasons for the first time in my life.
There was not only that, though. There was also the fact that I could smell the stench of a vampire emanating from Kaname. Not just any kind of vampire, however. Yuuki's beloved Kaname seemed to be the very same kind of vampire as the woman who killed my parents and my twin brother.
I stood up like a frightened kitten. I was not frightened for myself, though. I was instead frightened for my love interest, Yuuki Cross. I reached for a knife on the dinner table, grabbed it with a tight grip in my hands, and finally made a lunge for the vampire next to my beloved. Yuuki saw this, but instead of letting me do something about it…
Yuuki Cross: NO! Zero, don't!
… she actually tried to get between me and Kaname. Was she out of her mind trusting this guy? Of course, I was surprised to see Kaname let me stab him in Yuuki's place, but that did not take away from the fact that I saw him look at my Yuuki like she was his dinner.
Yours Truly: Vampire!
Yuuki Cross: Kaname!
Yuuki was openly worried about him, but this Kaname of hers only took that little injury of his in stride, however, obviously knowing that he would be all healed up in no time at all.
Kaname: You just ran up and stabbed me for no reason. That isn't nice.
I could not even believe how calm this beast in human form was being about getting stabbed. It was like this Kaname was made of ice. I simply could not stand the fact that my beloved Yuuki was going gaga over such a creature.
Yours Truly: Shut up, vampire. I know what you are. You have the same smell as that woman.
Kaname: That woman? Then, you must be Zero Kiryuu. I'm very sorry for what happened to your family, but…
Although he had apologized, it still did not deter my anger towards this monster. Kaname then grabbed the knife I had used to stab him and removed it from his own arm.
Kaname (continued): … I do not intend to stand here and let you kill me, either.
Then, the pureblooded vampire intentionally dropped the knife on the floor. Afterwards, Kaien Cross tried to reason with me.
Kaien Cross: Zero, he's not the one who warrants your revenge.
Yeah, right, as if that could be done the way I felt right at that moment.
Yours Truly: I'm going to my room, and don't even bother offering me dinner this time.
With that, I did what I said I would do and went to my room in a huff of defiant anger.
