another short-ish chapter told from Zero's point of view about his time at Cross Academy with Yuuki.
disclamation: I still do not own Vampire Knight and I'm over my own disclaimer. I have no comments left about the anime or the manga, at least for now.
The next time I saw my Yuuki, however, came a little too soon for my taste.
I coughed up yet another one of the blood tablets that just refused to agree with me just before taking a shower in the headmaster's bath. I had finished up with my shower and had covered myself up with my uniform clothes, but my shirt was left unbuttoned. That was when Yuuki came into the headmaster's bathroom and said…
Yuuki: Found you.
Then, she grabbed a white towel.
Yuuki: What are you doing? You're gonna catch a cold. You need to dry yourself off a little better.
Yuuki began drying me off with the white towel, even though I actually wanted even to freeze to death. Then, she began to button up my shirt, even though I did not want to wear it like that.
Yuuki: Here. You've got to wear your top, too. I guess this is something about you that may never change.
Then, my Yuuki noticed just how quiet I was being.
Yuuki: You know, I wish you would talk to me, even a little. Oh, I almost forgot.
Then, my Yuuki reached into her pocket and pulled out something that I hoped was not what I thought it was. I hoped it vain, however, because what she pulled out was none other than a piece of wrapping paper which held…
Yuuki: It's for you. It's a chocolate, and don't say it's like grade school, either. This one's different.
That was when Yuuki plopped it into my mouth.
Yuuki: This is the only one I made that came out right.
Was that supposed to make me feel any better about when Yuuki took her anger for that Kaname Kuran's chocolates out on me and later accused me of challenging Aido and the Night Class when it was actually the other way around? If it was, it was failing miserably to work.
Yuuki: It's the only one of its kind in the whole world, so be grateful I'm giving it to you.
It was a transparent gesture with which my Yuuki was only trying to boost up her good karma, and the chocolate tasted like crap, anyway. Even knowing that, I still could not help but turn even a little red that Yuuki finally gave me something other than that same coupon for an errand which she had given me every year for the past four years since we first met in grade school.
Yuuki, however, did not seem to understand why I groaned about it.
Yuuki: Huh, why do you look like you ate something awful? Geez!
That was when Yuuki turned her whole body away from me. I could smell her blood from where she was sitting in front of me when she was not even bleeding once again. I reached my hand out for her to drink her blood. This was not good. I had to stop myself from this endeavor. I finally grabbed onto her shoulder and she looked right back at me, gasping. I looked into her eyes for a bit as she looked into my own like I was in a trance of some kind. I finally regained my senses when she spoke to me.
Yuuki: Zero?
With that one word, I rose up from the floor on which my Yuuki and I both were. I spoke to her myself upon finally reaching my intended height.
Yours Truly: I said to leave me alone.
I only headed back to my room in the Boys' Dorm afterwards, where I could only resist tolerance for the blood tablets once again.
