Chapter 1
M*** held a bundle of multi-colored papers and wondered what was happening.
The last thing that he remembered was going to sleep after binge watching the Simpsons Halloween specials, but now he found himself sitting in an office holding a file that although it had an otherworldly appearance gave the feeling of being official and, more than anything, important.
From a moment to the next an alien looking woman appeared in front of him.
"The Supervisor will see you now. Follow me" She said while gesturing for him deeper into the office.
M*** felt more and more freaked out as they walked, because from one step to the next his surroundings kept changing, from futuristic, to medieval, to modern, to noir, to religious, to demonic, to angelic, and on and on it kept changing.
When M*** was show into a room that gave the ultimate feeling of BUROCRACY he was close to fainting.
The unremarkable man sitting behind a desk filled with towering piles of paper had an aura of the consummate burocrat.
"Mister M***, so happy that we finally have found you, please, have a seat"
Taking the offered seat, M*** felt his nerves instantly relaxing.
His face must have clearly expressed his confusion for his situation and his sudden changed state of mind.
"Your confusion is understandable. The chair you are sitting on has an enchantment of Mind Calm on it. We of the Company feel that all those we deal with should not have to deal with such insignificant things such as panic, rage, shock and anything that may cause our business any kind of loss. After much testing, the Mind Calm enchantment has been show to give all kinds of beings the most benefits in our dealings." Opening the file in front of him, the Supervisor continued. "Your file here says you are aware of the concept of the Company, yes?"
Due to the fact that every time the word 'Company' was spoken M***'s mind was bombarded with memories of reading Waifu Catalog fanfiction, he felt that nodding was justified, so that is what he did.
"Now, you are here for your share of the inheritance of Agent G257T89XS9. As specified on his personal contract, on the event of his Annihilation, all of his state shall then be managed by his oldest living heir, who then shall be charged of clearing all karmic debts of the state. You, Mister M***, is one of the karmic debts the Agent G257T89XS9 that gave us here at the Company some trouble. You shouldn't worry though, it was no fault of your own so none of the penalties for inconvenience shall fall on you."
Feeling more and more bewildered, M*** forced himself to interrupt. "Karmic debt? From an Company Agent? How?"
The Supervisor smiled. "Well, when your father dies, you are expected to get something, right?"
"My father? My father is? I mean, was an Agent? What?"
"Ah, i see your confusion. you see, when a child is born, normally a soul is brought forth from the cycle of reincarnation and is then given a new life and when they die, their karma is cleansed in their next one, but, some times, rarely, really, a brand new soul is created from the souls of the parents, and in such cases even death can not clean completely the karma from their first life, even if most is cleansed through a proper upbringing. Your soul was one such soul, born and created by Agent G257T89XS9 on one of his first adventures in the omniverse. Unfortunately, he was, then, not all that successful or capable, and your first life was not all that long."
M*** absentmindedly marveled at the Mind Clear enchantment, because although surprised he, after some quick thought, did not feel the expected shock at such information.
The Supervisor continued "After looking into our archives, your case is only the sixth such one to the Company, where one of our Agents' children was a new soul on conception, even more, you are the first case where the Agent did not in some way kept the child alive long enough for the karma to clear naturally through their upbringing. If our Karma Specialists did not utilize their powers to search for all karma debts of Agent G257T89XS9 then we of the Company may have the first breaking of a contract, at least on our side, in 7,590,776,763 years." With a smile, the Supervisor moved a few pages of the file in front of him. "Now, to the other complications"
M*** felt some frustration mount in his mind, then flow away due to the enchantment, again.
"The current state manager, after being appraised of your situation, allowed the disbursement of payment for the karmic debt to be paid, but he also made quite a few motions to have you dismissed as a possible heir to Agent G257T89XS9. Your disbursement shall be in the form of Company services you are eligible for. After some research we found that the best service we can give you is the Isekai/Self-Insert treatment, which shall be paid by the deceased Agent's state, and the current manager offered some of his own share to pay for a few perks as long as you give up any and all possible heir rights to the state." The Supervisor then stared really hard at M***. "The current manager, who decided to remain anonymous, has been making certain moves that we at the Company are not happy with, so i have been authorized to inform you that the full paying of the karmic debts of Agent G257T89XS9 shall shrink the state in a significant degree, so it is, in our opinion that taking the deal offered would not only be in your best interests, but should also heavily impact the manager future's prospects."
M*** wondered, briefly, what kind of mess he was in, but then he considered the offer.
He kind of got the idea of what was being offered, and wondered if he should accept it.
He did not have truly any close relationship with his family, and although he would miss them, now that he became aware that things such as karma existed he was kind of glad that all his relatives were, if not good people, they were at least not bad.
"What are my options, really? Where would i go?"
With a small chuckle, the Supervisor extended one of the sheets of paper across the desk.
"This is a list of Worlds that have versions of them that have been deemed as unsuitable for Agent insertion, but whose coordinates we sell to our ROB clients when they are in a Isekai mood. I have taken the liberty of only listing Worlds you are aware of"
Taking the paper, M*** quickly discarded the first few entries from consideration, no way he would go to WH40K, Worm or any of the other Death Worlds on the list.
"You said i would have acess to some perks, yes? I think if i had an idea of what they are, my decision would be clearer"
"Of course" Taking on a new page from the file in front of him, the Supervisor spoke "After some discreet examination of you while you were in the waiting room, we have come to the conclusion that your soul is too young and spent all it's existance in mundane worlds, so it's unsuitable to most magic, so all perks relating to magic powerful enough to change it would be beyond the avaliable budget. In fact, it is estimated that most perks we could offer are unsuitable to being grafted to your soul. And as you are expected to be only a one time client of our Company, none of the actively supported defenses are avaliable to you, and the Talent Bundle is only at the level of seventh generation one, meaning you would have some of the boosts to learning any and all discipline, but only at the level of an above avarage person. In my opinion, the best option for you is actually going for a Template" the Supervisor suddenly had a grin on his face. "In fact, as long as you choice comes from a World with no magic, there will be no limit to the Template that you could get"
M***'s frustration grew, then ebbed away again.
He thought hard on his options as he looked at the available Worlds again.
From his understanding, he would get his service and perks, then left to sink or swim, so the only way to guarantee his possible prosperity was to munchkin hard.
After a few moments, he discarded every World where magic was possible, M*** took to heart his declared unsuitability to magic, but that left only a few worlds for him to choose, because when he thought about it, many worlds had magic in one way or another.
Then M*** discarded most sci-fi worlds due to the fact that he simply was not all that enthusiastic about technology.
That left only a few Worlds on the list.
The fact that most of them were, to his knowledge Worlds of Battle Shounen Manga or Slices of Life was both exciting, disappointing and terrifying.
Thinking about the Supervisor's advice, he drew a blank on what to do.
"Tell me more about Templates, please?" Being polite never hurt anyone.
Unless one was dealing with the Fae.
M*** felt cold sweat form on his back for a moment, before the enchantment calmed him down again.
"There are quite a few types of Template. Racial Templates give you not only Racial Gifts, but also quite a bit on knowledge that the specific race accumulated in it's whole history, with a heavy focus on the disciplines created by that race. I do not advise you to chose such, because most Racial Templates that are completely magic free are simply not worth it. Then we have Occupation and Profession Templates, which which have different focus. Profession Templates takes on a Professional focus, an example such as a Martial Artist Professional Template would give you not only knowledge of Martial Arts, but also how to make a living in society, such as teaching, how to evaluate students and equipment, how to price services, but it gives you the least Talents. The Martial Artist Occupation Template on the other hand would have knowledge of how to create the equipment, how to live in the wild, but also give you the Talents to pioneer or revolutionize the occupation itself, Lastly, we have Character Templates, it's similar possession, you would receive all the memories and innate talents of a specific person and would, with time, integrate their all abilities and experience. Normally, Character Templates is the most expensive, followed by Racial, then Occupation and lastly Profession. But as i said, our estimates are such that whatever Template you were to choose, it's inside the available budget"
Looking down at the list of available worlds again, M*** thought on his options.
He could see the hints, Character Template was the way to go.
After another visual pass of the list and seeing the words 'Street Fighter' it reminded M*** of an old memory of his of cosplay and he almost blurted out he wanted an Akuma Template.
It was only the enchantment that kept him from saying that out loud.
But it also gave him an idea, he was not bound only to the main characters or the good guys.
Looking at all possibilities, and scouring his memory of all possible characters of each world he was focusing in a moment, he came to a stop in 'Strongest Disciple Kenichi'.
He knew in that moment what his choice would be.
The Legendary Master, the Yokai of Japan, the Superhuman, the Strongest Man in the World, Furinji Hayato.
Once M*** was passing time on random wiki pages, and he got on Furinji Hayato's page, and what he remembered was something that M*** could only contemplate as a Cheat, and if some of the trivia and speculation was true it would only make it even more of a Cheat.
Now he just needed a World where he could use such a Template to break the system.
The fact that he was unsuitable to worlds with magic kept his options scarce.
After much deliberation, and contemplating his own desires of a possible new life, M*** came to a last couple of choices.
"How will the Insertion happen? Will i Just appear, as a Drop-in? If it rebirth, will i be able to chose where or when, and who would be my parents?"
"Ah! Your only option is a full reincarnation. The when shall be in a time where you natural lifespan shall encompass the main period that you are aware of. And as to who your parents shall be, they will be a childless couple that would have perished before your birth without the Company's meddling. Due to Karma Balance, they extended lifespan shall only be for as long as you will need to grow just old enough to become independent as accepted by the local societal norms. Your current memories and your Template shall be partially active during your growing up, giving you a leg up, but a more natural new childhood. We of the Company have made quite the study on the subject, believe you me, in a insertion such as this, having all your memories from the beginnings is counter-intuitive when you know that your new parents shall have a limited lifespan. You should also have no worries about not being their 'true son', our employees would search for a couple that has a natural belief on reincarnation and also have a non negative reaction to your possible actions as predicted by our seers."
M*** marveled on how complete the service was.
Looking back at the list, the number of worlds that he found acceptable kept shrinking and shrinking as he scoured the darkest recesses of his mind for any possible bit of information.
It was with a certain amount of embarrassment that M*** concluded that his best option was in fact Naruto.
His desired Template kind of gave the most bang for his buck in a World where battle was important, and Naruto was the only World on the list that he found acceptable without magic.
Once he made his decision, the Supervisor took all the papers and the file M*** kept from the beginning.
"Now, I'm happy to announce that the Character Template you have chosen has 5 different versions of them in our inventory, and i was given leave to make available to you the most expensive one. The World you have chosen has been marked as restricted for ten thousand years for any entry from the Company and our partners, and this time period shall also have a Level 8 Time Defense against any and all time manipulations. We of the Company apologize if you wanted to gain any Time Manipulation ability, but you Budget was not sufficient for the Level 9 Time Defense. Your remaining credits were used for a World calibration, you are welcome" After shuffling the papers once, the file was closed. "Thank you so much for utilizing your whole budget. Have a happy insertion"
M***'s vision swam and he lost consciousness.

It was just as Ikari Kai finished lighting up the sticks of incense in front of his parents' mortuary tablets that his memories came back.
Kai barely had time to marvel on how smooth the transition was when his Template activated.
With wide eyes, he now knew why this particular Template was considered the 'most expensive one'.
Because the Furinji Hayato on which this particular Template was based on was well over nine hundred years old.
AN: A Naruto fanfic is almost necessity on in a snippet thread. Now, for those who have read the wiki page on Furinji Hayato, there are speculation on him being alive during the Sengoku period, and this particular version was good enough with Ki to extend his life so much.
