welcome to chapter thirty-four of my 'Vampire Knight' fanfiction titled 'Life With Yuuki: 'Vampire Knight' As Told by Zero'. this thirty-fourth chapter, here, is all about the part of the fifth episode of the 'Vampire Knight' anime in which Zero's old vampire-hunter's master becomes the newest teacher at Cross Academy. the Day Class students all think that he looks pretty cool for a teacher, but Yuuki has doubts while Zero has flashbacks.

anyway, this thirty-fourth chapter of 'Life With Yuuki: 'Vampire Knight' As Told by Zero' is a good nine-hundred-fifty-six words worth of total and completely pure storyline for said fanfiction. a storyline that, of course, doesn't include the chapter's description up above, the headnote, right here, or even the disclaimer which makes up the following paragraph after this headnote. yes, I'm well aware that the disclaimer is exactly the same as it was in the previous chapter, but I've been running kinda low disclaimers for the chapters in this and all my other fanfictions.

disclamation: I don't own 'Vampire Knight' in any way, shape, or form, be it the anime or the manga. Matsuri Hino owns the rights to the manga while the cast and crew for the anime are the people from Viz Media. if I had owned even one bit of even the anime, I so wouldn't have let it draw to a conclusion on such a note as what it had. I would've continued it a lot further into the manga and ended it the right way. I really wish that Viz Media had ended the anime the right way, or would at least make a reboot of the anime, like FUNimation had with 'Fruits Basket' when they discovered that it had come out with a sequel manga series.

The following day, Yuuki and her girl friend, Sayori Wakaba, had arrived to class a little later than usual.

Yuuki Cross: Safe!

The only thing about their later than usual arrival to class was that even this new ethics teacher of ours starting today, whomever he/she was, was even later to class than my little Yuuki and her friend, Sayori Wakaba, were at the time. It was not only that, but everyone was also gossiping a bit before class could really getting going. Yuuki walked up to one of the other girls in our class to ask her about it.

Yuuki Cross: Did something happen?

The Day Class girl my Yuuki approached with her question just giggled at what she asked.

Day Class Girl #1: Didn't you hear, Yuuki? We're getting a new ethics lecturer today.

Yuuki Cross: Huh? But, why now?

Yuuki sounded just as confused as I was about this new ethics lecturer in our school.

Day Class Girl #1: I don't know, but I just saw him.

The doors opened up once more, and someone new walked into our classroom. It was someone new to the rest of the class, anyway. I, however, recognized the person immediately. Why in the world was Master Yagari here? He was our new ethics teacher? I suddenly did not feel very good. He most likely knew I was well on my way to turning into a level E and had come to the school to do his job as the best vampire hunter in the business these days.

Master walked towards the front desk in the class. Oh yeah, he was our class's new ethics teacher, alright. I just could not believe it was him. I had always hoped to one day return to my studies with him as my teacher, but I had also hoped this reunion of ours would come to pass under better circumstances, particularly alone without an entire class of Day Class students to be humiliated, then shot and killed in front of.

Everyone in the entire classroom looked in Master Yagari's direction, expectantly.

Master: Seems word of my arrival has proceeded me.

Then, he set down his lecture book on the teacher's desk.

Master (continued): The name's Toga Yagari, and I will be your new teacher. Nice to meet you.

I could hear every one of the other student's comments about Master, including one from my dear Yuuki's friend.

Sayori Wakaba: He's pretty cool for a teacher.

Yuuki just nodded her head. Obviously, the girl I liked was not sure what to think of Master Yagari.

Yuuki Cross: Yeah, I guess, but…

That was when Yuuki stopped talking to her friend about Master Yagari.

Master: Alright then, are there any questions?

The Day Class girl who told Yuuki and the rest of their class about having already seen Master Yagari was the first to raise her hand.

Day Class Girl #1: Professor, are you single?

Was that one girl kidding with a question like that? She had to be nuts if she thought Master Yagari was interested in little girls.

Master: I am.

The other Day Class girl next to her raised her hand next.

Day Class Girl #2: Do you have a girlfriend?

These kinds of girls were the type to have crushes on their teachers if they were good-looking enough.

Master: You're fond of the personal questions, aren't you?

That was when the entire class suddenly started bombarding Master Yagari with even more personal questions; questions like, 'What do you do in your spare time?', 'You know how to fight?', 'Do you believe in UFOs?', or the most ridiculous one ever, 'Have you ever kissed a girl?'. The one about kissing a girl was ridiculous to ask in my opinion, anyway.

Then in an effort to calm down the raucous, the class rep. once again began ordering the class to remain orderly.

Class Rep.: Come on, let's have some order, here. If you wanna ask this man a question, raise your hand first.

A hand went up at the class rep.'s orders.

Class Rep. (continued): You're up!

It was that one girl who I rescued on Valentine's Day after her tumble off of the Moon Dormitory's outer wall.

Day Class Girl #3: That patch you're wearing; is that some new fashion trend?

Of course, I had expected him to look scarily at her. Master's patch was anything but 'some new fashion trend'. With his annoyance towards that one question, I needed some air. I could barely register hearing Yuuki's voice on my way out the door.

Yuuki Cross: Zero.

I heard her afterwards, though.

Yuuki Cross: Um, sir, as a Disciplinary Committee prefect, I'll go bring him back.

She might have said she was going to bring me back, but I knew that my Yuuki probably liked the way the classroom felt even less than I had. I could tell so by the fact that she only chased after me.

I had walked all the way to the front of the school with my Yuuki running after me as I walked.

Yuuki Cross: Zero, wait up! Hey, come on, Zero!

We ran into the idiot headmaster upon wandering all the way to the front gate. He only approached us with something in mind.

Kaien Cross: Unusual to see the both of you skipping class, Yuuki, Zero. While you two are out here, though, I think I might just have somethings for the two of you to do for me in town.

The headmaster handed us a list of the things he wanted from us for the day.
