here it is. chapter thirty-five, the newest chapter of my 'Vampire Knight' fanfiction which tells the story of 'Vampire Knight' from Zero Kiryuu's point of view, 'Life With Yuuki: 'Vampire Knight' As Told by Zero'. this thirty-fifth chapter tells of the two scenes in the fifth episode of the 'Vampire Knight' anime in which Yuuki and Zero are sent on an errand by Kaien Cross into the town. I guess that Yuuki's trying to lighten Zero up while they're running their errand for their academy's imbecilic headmaster. I never did get the point of that errand at all though. at least, I kinda liked the part which had always looked to me somewhat like a date between the two of them.
anyway, this thirty-fifth chapter is a good one-thousand-one-hundred-ninety-one words worth of pure storyline and longer than the previous thirty-fourth chapter. I still have no way whatsoever of knowing exactly what I wanna even call the chapters of this or any other of my fanfictions until I place them into the fanfictions, themselves. the one-thousand-one-hundred-ninety-one words worth of storyline that make up this thirty-fifth chapter, of course, don't include the chapter's description just above, the headnote, right here, or the disclaimer which makes up the following paragraph. yes, I know that the disclaimer is exactly the same as chapters thirty-three and thirty-four, but I've kinda been running low on inspiration for writing the disclaimer.
disclamation: I don't own 'Vampire Knight' in any way, shape, or form, be it the anime or the manga. Matsuri Hino owns the rights to the manga while the cast and crew for the anime are the people from Viz Media. if I had owned even one bit of even the anime, I so wouldn't have let it draw to a conclusion on such a note as what it had. I would've continued it a lot further into the manga and ended it the right way. I really wish that Viz Media had ended the anime the right way, or would at least make a reboot of the anime, like FUNimation had with 'Fruits Basket' when they discovered that it had come out with a sequel manga series.
A bit later, Yuuki and I had gone into town. I know running an errand for the headmaster was not the kind of thing I had in mind for my first date ever with her, but Yuuki seemed happy simply to be spending time with me. There was also the fact that whether this whole outing was an errand or for fun, I had the chance to get some fresh air.
Once we had done a bit of walking around and shopping, my Yuuki stretched her arms upwards to revel in being sent on one of the idiot headmaster's errands. She even had her own comment about it.
Yuuki Cross: Being sent on an errand by the headmaster has its perks, doesn't it?
Of course, I had my own response to Yuuki's comment about being sent on the headmaster's errand, which was just…
Yours Truly: Not really.
It should have at least been understandable that I felt such a way, considering that I was holding every last one of the bags and stuff from this so-called errand from our idiot headmaster.
Yuuki Cross: Oh! Hey, Zero, look! Come over here!
Why did I even bother to hope she could understand me at all, anymore?
It was then that my Yuuki sprinted to a nearby stand where they seemed to be selling a type of cloth blanket.
Yuuki Cross (continued): Oh, Zero, there's also somewhere else I wanted to go while we were out. I know that it may or may not be your kind of scene, but I'm sure you'll find something on the menu that you just might like.
She was taking me somewhere to eat? I just hoped that it would be a place with good ramen or even a half-decent vegetable soup.
When we finally reached the destination my Yuuki had in mind, it turned out to be the exact opposite of what I would have been caught dead eating at. It was the same kind of place that that blonde aristocratic vampire, Hanabusa Aido who was known as 'Idol' by the Day Class girls, would have most likely been a much bigger fan of than I could ever be. The sign on the establishment read 'Negozio di Caffe: Una Carozza'.
Yep, that's right. I was being taken to a sweets' café for all of my trouble in carrying all of those bags during our errand assigned to the two of us by the idiot headmaster.
Yuuki had a fruit and chocolate parfait sundae on her side of the table, while I just had some hot cocoa if only to order something from the café at which we were at the time. Yuuki wore a cheerful look on her face and just got ready to start basically attacking her food.
Yuuki Cross: I'm diggin' in.
Yours Truly: I wanted noodle soup.
That was my response just before beginning to just sip my hot cocoa. Yuuki turned gray at what I had said about being taken to the café before she finally began chomping her parfait sundae down like an animal, I might add.
Yuuki Cross: Yeah, but the sundaes here are so good. Sayori and I came here together the other day and…
That was when Yuuki took a break from chomping down on her parfait sundae just long enough to ask me a question.
Yuuki Cross (continued): Hey, Zero, by the way…
I looked at my Yuuki wanted to know from me and about whom.
Yuuki Cross (continued): That new teacher; do you know him?
I responded to Yuuki's question only by looking away from her. I did not want to tell her that our class's new ethics lecturer was my own vampire hunter's master. Yuuki then sounded concerned about me over what she had asked.
Yuuki Cross (continued): Uh, never mind. You don't have to answer that. It's just… that he comes across… kinda scary.
With that kind of comment about Master from even her, I had to defend my new old teacher.
Yours Truly: He's not. When you get to know him, he's actually…
Then, a waitress from the café came up to our table just to ask me a 'special' question.
Café waitress: Excuse me, but are you from the Cross Academy Night Class?
I looked at the waitress and every other young woman in the café staring at me like they wanted to pounce on me.
Café waitress (continued): You are, aren't you? I knew it immediately. You don't look like everybody else does.
Yuuki seemed to actually try to explain to the café waitress that I was not who she thought I was.
Yuuki Cross: Yeah, um, you see…
The café waitress was far too immature to listen to Yuuki, though.
Café waitress: Students from the elite class aren't like everyone else.
Was our server trying to make me feel better about finally having given into my vampiric urges recently? If that were the case, it was far from working on me. My Yuuki tried further to set this server girl straight.
Yuuki Cross: Hold on.
I could barely tell if it were the case, but my Yuuki had actually seemed to sound kind of, if not a lot, jealous of the café waitress talking to me about being a part of those vampires. Truthfully, I did not know if it was all in my head or something like it, but I actually did appreciate the sentiment of my dearest Yuuki, of all girls in the academy, finally getting a little jealous of a girl other than her liking me. It filled me with a sense of my feelings for her finally returning back to me. I did not know what to say.
Then, the café server just kept on blabbing on about those in our school's own Night Class. She started out by talking about the blonde vampire that worshipped the ground that Kaname Kuuran walked on like a dog with a bone.
Café waitress: There's someone named Aido in the night class, right? He likes sweets, and he comes in here some_
While the server girl from the café in which my Yuuki and I were eating talked away about the night class vampires to me, I had been gathering the stuff I had carried in. I was tired of this conversation and got right up from our seat.
Yours Truly: I'm leaving.
Then, I headed right on my way out the café's front door. My Yuuki was the only one who had anything to say about my leaving the café.
Yuuki Cross: OK.
Upon making it back out the front door and back into the entryway, I had once again grown depressed about having given into my vampiric urges thanks to that waitress's naïve insensitivity. I just lingered there in the entry way, thinking about my new vampiric ways.
My brain: I smell like they do.
It was then that the smell of a brand-new Level E vampire had overcome my senses.
