this is the thirty-seventh chapter of my own 'Vampire Knight' fanfiction which I had titled 'Life With Yuuki: 'Vampire Knight' As Told by Zero'. this thirty-seventh chapter is about when the Zero and Yuuki are escorted onto the grounds of Cross Academy's Moon Dormitory by Hanabusa 'Idol' Aido and Akatsuki Kain, two vampire aristocrats who are basically cousins. Zero has also brought an anti-vampire gun with him to the Moon Dorm, of all things. what intentions does he carry for such a tool of a vampire's demise? why is he suddenly giving it to Yuuki instead? to find out, you'll just have to read.
this thirty-seventh chapter is a good nine-hundred-fifty words worth of pure storyline in my fanfiction based upon the 'Vampire Knight' anime. it's a storyline of which doesn't include the descriptive paragraph just above this headnote explaining how many words long this thirty-seventh chapter's storyline, this aforementioned headnote, or the disclaimer which makes up the following paragraph. yes, I know that this chapter's disclaimer has the exact same words as chapters thirty-three through thirty-six have. yes, I'm perfectly aware that my disclaimers have been getting slightly repetitive as of late. I don't actually care, though, because I've been running a little low on inspiration even for all of my other fanfictions, as well.
disclamation: I don't own 'Vampire Knight' in any way, shape, or form, be it the anime or the manga. Matsuri Hino owns the rights to the manga while the cast and crew for the anime are the people from Viz Media. if I had owned even one bit of even the anime, I so wouldn't have let it draw to a conclusion on such a note as what it had. I would've continued it a lot further into the manga and ended it the right way. I really wish that Viz Media had ended the anime the right way, or would at least make a reboot of the anime, like FUNimation had with 'Fruits Basket' when they discovered that it had come out with a sequel manga series.
I had already made it to the Moon Dorm by the time Yuuki had come walking in towards the gates to the lair of the vampires.
Yours Truly: I knew it.
Yuuki Cross: Zero. You-you can't stop me.
She thought that I wanted to stop her from going into the Moon Dorm to get her answers from Takuma? Really? That was the idea she was getting from just my presence at the gates of the Moon Dorm by itself? Boy, did she ever have me wrong in more ways than one. I guess it was all up to me to up and turn around her expectations for me.
Yours Truly: No, I'll go, too.
I took a gun out of my pocket and showed it to my Yuuki.
Yours Truly: I borrowed this anti-vampire gun from the headmaster.
Yuuki Cross: Why are you bringing a gun here? The night class students are good people. Put that away.
My Yuuki was assuming things about me without knowing my real intentions, once again.
Yours Truly: You've got it wrong.
I then handed the anti-vampire gun to my Yuuki, herself.
Yours Truly (continued): If, at any time, I lose the human part of me and go out of control, use this.
With a look in her eyes which had said 'oh no', it seemed to me as though my Yuuki had finally understood that I was basically telling her the same thing I told her to do when she had interrupted my attempt at suicide the night following when I had finally given into my vampiric urges and bitten into the neck of Yuuki, herself, of all people at the school it could have been. Why did it have to be my precious little Yuuki with whom I had finally lost control over my vampiric urges when it had happened?
I suppose that my Yuuki finally understood that I had really borrowed that anti-vampire gun from the headmaster for her to use on me, myself.
Yuuki Cross: I could never do that.
With those words from past her lips, my Yuuki tried desperately to hand the anti-vampire gun back to me.
Yuuki Cross (continued): Besides… if I need to stop you, I can always use the spell the headmaster taught me.
Of course, my Yuuki would be foolishly desperate to not let me die. If only she knew that now that I had finally given into the same vampiric urges I had had since even before I had first met her that night four years prior, the only thing I wanted of her was to let me die. She might not have been willing to give up the fight for my life, but I was now that I had officially become a vampire. I had to tell her.
Yours Truly: There will come a day when that spell will not work on me. You know this. You saw that Level E today. That is eventually what I will become. When it does, Yuuki, I want you to be the one to kill me.
I just hoped that I had finally gotten my message to my Yuuki. If it did not work, I just hoped that she would have enough common sense to at least shoot at me with everything she had.
Yuuki Cross: Alright. I'll agree to what you want. The reason is because I don't think that day is ever gonna come, Zero.
My Yuuki then shook her head at the thought of having to kill me.
Yuuki Cross (continued): I just won't let it. Zero, you have to promise me something.
I suddenly saw that my Yuuki came with her own conditions for our friendship.
Yuuki Cross (continued): Promise me that you'll keep fighting so that I never have to use this pistol.
Yuuki wanted me to keep up the fight for my life? She wanted to never have to use that anti-vampire pistol on me? This was the exact reason I liked my Yuuki as more than 'just a friend', the same way that she had always liked me. Why did she not get that men do not work the same way women do? Did she really expect it of herself to be as nice as she had always been to me without the risk of me falling in love with her at one point or another in our friendship? Did she really think that it was possible for her life as my friend to work out that way? I guess not.
Later, as we walked on our way into the heart of the Moon Dormitory, Yuuki and I were suddenly greeted by a Moon Dorm styled welcoming committee in the form of Hanabusa Aido and Akatsuki Kain. We felt threatened by them, at first. So, of course, we drew out our weapons; my Bloody Rose anti-vampire gun and my Yuuki's own Artemis Rod.
Hanabusa Aido: You two are awfully rough.
Yuuki Cross: Why are you here, Hanabusa? Akatsuki?
Akatsuki Kain: The vice president of our dorm told us to escort you. Now, will you put that thing away? It's dangerous.
Akatsuki was sure one to talk, considering that he and Hanabusa were not even human. Nevertheless, Yuuki and I pulled our respective weapons back from the two vampires. That was when Hanabusa bowed in our presence. Granted that it felt rather mockingly, though.
Hanabusa Aido: Welcome to the Moon Dormitory. The two of us will be your escorts. Please, after you.
It was then that Hanabusa and Akatsuki stepped out of the way for Yuuki and I to walk into the Moon Dormitory.
