The Heroic God Slayer
Chapter 4
Okay, I'm going to do Xeimei's fight but I won't cover the rest of the battles because of how many there are. But I wanted to demonstrate a bit of how capable she is. In the Campione anime we see hints of the skills and powers that Erica and Liliana have but obviously it gets overshadowed by the lead. Here given I'm partially using the shonen medium I can demonstrate some of my female mc's skills. Before jumping into my original chapter. So on with the show.

When Izuku returned he of course had an insane number of questions to answer. "What the heck was that thing you did to Todoroki? Where did you pull that ball or whatever it was from? How come Todoroki froze and you didn't? Does this cape go with these glasses?" Okay that last one was Aoyama showing off in his costume and trying to drag attention to himself. Izuku tried but couldn't come up with a way to defend himself. So he told a half lie. "It's a strange ability I have. Aside from my super strength I seem to be able to do a few other things. I'm not sure why though."
While there were more questions to be asked All Might announced that they needed to move along with the trials. But not before naming Momo as the mvp of the match. When questioned about it, All Might explained that, "while it is true that Midoriya defeated Todoroki, he still risked damaging the building if he wasn't careful about the way he fought. Todoroki and Kamakiri though both fell victim to their emotions and were defeated because of it. Yaoyorozu though focused on the task at hand and turned a bad situation around for the victory." With that done the next few matches could take place.
After teams B, I, G, L, P and O had battled, it was time for Xeimei to show what she could do. She and her partner Tokage Setsuna were the villains against the team of Jurota Shishida and Tokoyami Fumikage. "So we have to stop a pair of beasts who could probably smash through almost anything we put in their path? That's not gonna go well," Setsuna said to Xeimei as they looked over the room with the faux weapon in it.
Xeimei thought for a moment before asking about what Setsuna could do. "My quirk lets me separate my body into 50 pieces and I can control each of them individually. I can also regenerate but its exhausting." "Which is why you probably prefer to call the parts back to yourself right?" Xeimei said with a smile. Setsuna's smirk grew a bit and she agreed. She then questioned what exactly Xeimei could do. "I can manipulate elements to an extent. I have to touch them and then think up what I want the element to do or to change into. So really this exercise is perfect for me. As is the fact that I'm guessing you can remotely move all of your parts, right?"
Upon hearing that, Setsuna's devious smile widened. One she shared with Xeimei. Just before the exercise began, Setsuna detached her head and monitored their opponents from above. 'All Might never said anything about gathering intel beforehand!' Setsuna thought to herself as she listened in. To her surprise, it was Tokoyami who was taking the lead and suggesting what to do against the two. And his plan wasn't too bad.
"From what I saw on the first day, Sun-san can manipulate the ground or anything she touches. I'm not sure if it exhausts her but she'll more than likely have some traps set up in the building. And Tokage-san is more than likely going to be monitoring us. So we need to take a different approach to face them," Tokoyami said before looking up at the side of the building. Shishida looked up as well and saw some of the open windows. He looked to his partner with a smile and a nod.
When All Might called for the exercise to begin, Tokoyami launched Dark Shadow upwards to pull himself up the wall. Shishida had grabbed onto the raven headed boy's back and was pulled up too. He then used a bit of his quirk to pull the two of them up higher. Setsuna had retracted herself and was quickly reporting what was happening to Xeimei. "Didn't expect this, but the two are going up the side of the building instead of through it. I doubt they'll get past all your traps but they'll dodge quite a few of them!" Upon hearing that, Xeimei turned back from the stairwell she was booby trapping.
The bomb was situated on the 9th floor of the building. She had set a few elemental spells to either sink the boys down a floor or to trap them in stone cages. But she had been betting on the two trying to use the stairwells and Shishida's quirk to rush up. "Well that throws my main plan out the window. But luckily, I still have that other plan. Get them close to the pseudo bathroom area. We'll trap them there!" At Setsuna's affirmative, Xeimei starts a spell to open the floor just above the bathroom.
As Shishida and Tokoyami are climbing up the side, Setsuna manipulates her parts to attack the two. This is done at the eighth floor, so the two teens think that is the floor the weapon is set in. "Come and get me!" Setsuna shouts as she retracts her parts into the building. She doesn't go too far, as she wants to lead them on. The two heroes fall for it and attempt to catch her. But they don't realize that it is a set up.
"We have you now Tokage-san! Sorry in advance if this hurts!" Shishida shouts as he starts to beast up and Tokoyami sends out Dark Shadow in the bathroom. Setsuna just smirks and suddenly a pipe burst above the two boys. Not only covering them in water, but the metal reforms into bindings around them. "Sorry if I was late, had to make sure it would act the way I wanted to!" Xeimei says as she drops down.
"Perhaps you don't have the wisdom of the Sun family my classmate. After all this won't stop US!" Tokoyami shouts as Dark Shadow starts breaking through the metal, and Shishida beasts up more and starts to break the metal as well. This gets Setsuna nervous as there is no where for the two girls to run. But Xeimei is still smiling. She then does some hand signs before touching the water at her feet. "Did you forget? I can manipulate elements! That includes WATER!" she shouts as the water then freezes the two.
The two are frozen and still restrained, and now shivering. But they are both still trying break out. Xeimei groans and takes a bit more of the water that is running in the room from the pipe and tosses in some small canisters she had in a pouch on her hip. She creates some more signs before touching the misty air in front of her. All of the sudden, a pink mist like substance surrounds the two boys. They cough for a few seconds, and then go silent.
When the mist clears both boys are asleep, and Xeimei lets out a sigh of relief. "Glad that worked." "What the heck did you just do?!" Setsuna says with shock on her face. Xeimei just looks at the girl blankly before explaining that she turned the water into a sleeping gas. "I had to mix in a few other things, but I worked in the end," Xeimei says with a smile as All Might calls the battle a victory for the two girls.
When the two return, there are a lot of students who are curious about what Xeimei can all do but she passes some of her magic weaknesses off as quirk limitations. "I can only use some elements. Namely I can only manipulate the five primary elements. You know earth, water, wood, metal, fire. And I have to touch or have the source for said element to manipulate it. Fire I just need a fire source. Plus, I can slightly manipulate other elements in limited amounts. That is why we needed the water and for the boys to be in a mostly enclosed place."
The rest nod about what she could do, and some consider all of the possibilities of her abilities. When All Might coughs a bit, Xeimei and Izuku notice that he looks strained. Izuku then nods to Xeimei, who pulls out a bottle from a different pouch. "Excuse me sir but this might help with that cough. Izuku and I have seen a few of your movements on the tv and while you try to cover it up… well we both know you haven't been feeling your best." All Might, even in his buffed-up state, blushes and thanks the Chinese beauty for the tonic.
When All Might drinks it, he feels part of his injury heal and his stamina recover. While not as noticeable to the rest, some light has come back into his shaded eyes. He coughs a bit before saying, "woo that is bitter! But I do feel better. Thank you, Miss Sun!" The rest of the students look to the girl with confusion, and she brushes it off as a partial training with her power. "I learned traditional medicines and recipes that have healing properties. Since my power is about manipulating elements in various ways it seemed like a good way to train." Her classmates, sans Izuku, are stunned. Though one big guy Sato Rikido comes up to ask if they'd like to swap recipes someday.
All Might then claps his hands to bring back attention and get back to the battle trials. Thanks to the tonic Xeimei had given him, he has no trouble finishing the day of class and the rest of the trials. "Well done students! You showed ingenuity, cooperativeness, and courage in each of these trials! Now then, I will be grading your trials for the rest of the day. And if you have any questions, please send me an email and we can discuss matters. For now! Have a good day and PLUS ULTRA!" With the number 1 hero leaves the observation room.
While most are gushing about how cool All Might was, a few have some more questions for their classmates or want to go over some details about the trials. "I'm very impressed by your skills with your quirk Sun-san. It compares quite well with my own. Perhaps we could make an impressive team someday," Momo says to her fellow beauty while changing in the locker room. Xeimei just smiles before saying, "just Xeimei please. I'm not a big fan of everyone focusing on my family name. And… yeah, we would be a good team. Your power lets you create inorganic things if you know what they are made of. But mine lets me manipulate elements."
The two compare notes on what they could do with some of the creations that Momo can make. Meanwhile a few of the boys are questioning Izuku a bit more on what he did to Todoroki. Though a few are also curious on what his relationship with Xeimei is. "She referred to you by your first name. Just how close are you two?" the softening hero student Honenuki Juzo asked.
Izuku sighed before saying that Xeimei wasn't too big on formality. "Also, we met when I was on a trip with my family along the Yangshao. I happened to be in the area when a disaster struck, and I saved her and helped a few others. We became fast friends during our time there. She later transferred to Japan and was looking to attend UA after I had talked about it." This satisfies most of the curiosities of the male students, but a few are just jealous of how quickly he got close to a beautiful girl.
After class though, an announcement came over the intercoms. "Midoriya Izuku and Xeimei Sun. Please report to the principal's office. Midoriya and Sun please come to the principal's office." The two had been walking back together as is, so they looked to each other with a shrug and the two walked to the office. When they arrived, there was a woman standing in the office with the animal hybrid principal. "It is a pleasure to meet you two, I'm from the government and I'd like to have a word with you. Apologies principal Nezu, but this is a bit more private. Could you give us some privacy please?"
The principal of Nezu is confused but it was a request from a government employee, so he was willing to go along with it for now. Once he has left, and the students had set down on the couches, the agent bows and says, "it is a pleasure to meet you. The newest of kings. My name is Amakasu Hikage. I'm an agent of the Committee for the Compilation of True History." "Ah so this is a magic related issue, isn't it?" Izuku said. He had suspected given the two who were called, but he wanted to make sure.
Amakasu nods before explaining the issue. "There have been a strange string of murders in Okoyama and on the island of Shikoku. Normally we'd leave this to the police, but we have a reason to believe." "That a rogue god is involved, correct?" Xeimei finishes the agent's sentence. Amakasu nods and notes a special profile to the victims. "The most common ones killed appear to either be mutant types or have quirks that give them horns." She pulls out some pictures that do show that as the case.
"There is something else. Some whole families have been killed as well, though there was one exception. In one case the only one spared was a child. A quirkless child," Amakasu explains a bit more. Izuku's eyes widen but he understands why that is the case. Given the gods and especially heroes dislike for quirks, they would have even less qualms about killing anyone with a quirk. But the fact that a normal human was spared and the location, Izuku has an idea on what god they were dealing with.
Xeimei though notes that they could have called their usual overseer, Master Jonathan. Amakasu's eyes widen while Izuku's narrow. And even without the new king saying anything, Amakasu knows she'll have to explain things. "We are hoping to leave the oldest king's leadership and fall under lord Midoriya's… that is all that is involved." "Xeimei you've never really told me much about the current kings. Who is this, Jonathan?" Xeimei nods before explaining. "Master Samson Jonathan Fredrickson. He typically goes by his middle name, and he's the oldest Campione in the current age. After the previous Campione died, and he eventually took their place he basically took control of all of the mage organizations."
Amakasu explained that while the eldest was a more of a compassionate tyrant. "He often will come to aid of those under threat of rogue gods. However, he has a bad habit of going off on random adventures. And disappearing for lengths of time." "So I'm the second choice?" Izuku says with indignation. Amakasu realizes that is what she implied and dives quickly into dogeza and apologizes profusely.
With a sigh, Izuku stands and says, "I don't appreciate how you went about meeting me. But I do respect the urgency of the situation. Xeimei and I will handle this. You meanwhile will provide us with transport and lodging in the region." Amakasu stands and nods before leaving and thanking the two. Xeimei looks to Izuku and sees the annoyance on his face. And can tell he is comparing himself to Master Jonathan.
She stops him though and points out that this isn't the first time it has happened. "My King, you shouldn't compare with an king of old so much. Often with each age of kings, certain ones have had to make a case why they should be respected by their peers. Master Jonathan is much the same. He has defeated each of the subsequent kings that have awakened. But once he does, he leaves them alone. No one is sure why, but it may have to do with his own nature as a king." She goes on to say that Izuku will just have to prove that he can handle anything the eldest can throw at him. As well as hero and protector against the rogue gods. Izuku smiles and says they need to get moving.
From behind them though, Ochaco, Momo, Reiko and Mina are listening in intent. "Did she just call him her king?" Mina asks with fascination. She had been tagging along with the rest, who were curious about what Izuku and Xeimei had been called in for. Momo had made a device to listen in. Though it was imperfect and the most they got was the destination of Okoyama and that the two were being asked to investigate it. "I'm more curious about why Midoriya would be called by a government agent to investigate a case like this," Momo said with her hand under her chin.
Ochaco though was concerned that a pair of students were going to try and fight a monster who had even killed some heroes. Reiko then spoke up saying, "we should shadow them and be ready to call the heroes of the area at a moments notice. As well as to effect some assistance should it be necessary." The other girls agreed, and Momo set them up with transport to Okoyama and a place to stay over the long weekend.
With the Campione pair, Izuku explained what he believed to be the rogue god on the train ride. "I'm pretty sure we're dealing with a rogue Momotaro. Gods already dislike quirks, and if he's following his karmic focus as a hero who fights monsters… then there is a good chance he would be targeting those with quirks. Seeing them as oni." Xeimei nods before saying, "that would also line up with the fact that a fair number of victims have horns and the like. Probably sees them all as oni to be killed." Izuku nods and looks over the address for the hotel CCTH had arranged for them.
His eyes widen when he sees that it is for the nicest hotel in the region. Xeimei snorts before saying, "this isn't that strange. Like before, they want to make a good impression. Especially after Amakasu probably botched up the meeting earlier." Izuku though sits back, and sighs thinking more about the situation and place he is in now. When they arrive at the capital city of Okoyama, they head for the hotel.
Following behind them are the girls again, each more curious about the situation before them. When they all reach the fancy hotel, Ochaco faints upon the sight of it. "Seriously!? How did those two swing getting into one of the ritziest places in town?" Mina says while she and Reiko are trying to wake Ochaco up. The later of whom is wondering how they will keep tabs on the other two from then on. Momo blushes and coughs before saying, "um welllll….. we have a reservation there too… I didn't think about it due to the fact that my family often stays here I just assumed it was a normal hotel!"
'She just unintentionally slapped us in the face with how rich she is,' all three girls think while Momo is just looking bashful. The do eventually go in and they listen in on where Izuku and Xeimei's room is. Momo gets their room keys, and they all head up to their room. When there, Ochaco is again stunned by the luxury in front of her. Momo then took the time to look up the room that Izuku and Xeimei had. And she blushed. "Uhhhh those two are in the room that is for…."
When Izuku and Xeimei arrive at their room, they notice that it is a room clearly meant for honeymooner. And then they realize three things. One the CCTH misinterpreted their relationship a bit. Second, it explained the look that the front desk man gave them. And third… things could get awkward for the two going forward.
With a blush and cough the two look away from each other. "Let's focus on the task at hand. The timing of these attacks seem to vary, but it does seem like Momotaro prefers evening or morning battles," Izuku says while checking the kitchen supplies. Xeimei nods and checks the bedroom. Blushing again as there was only the one bed. Unbeknownst to them, Momo had snuck to their door and placed a better listening device on it. As well as a camera on the opposite wall.
They could hear some of what the two were talking about and were also waiting for the moment the two would head out. Izuku and Xeimei just enjoy the luxury of the room for an hour or two before heading out. And with a slightly excited smile, Izuku stands and says it is time. "Understood my king. I stand with you as always." Upon hearing that on the listening device, Mina is even more curious about what is going on between their classmates. The other girls though note the more important factor of them heading out to fight the mass killer.
After the two leave their room, the girls follow along behind. Trying to be as sneaky as possible. While they are walking Izuku reaches out with his magic sensing to try and find his target. For an hour though they have no luck. The girls following the Campione, and his knight are also confused and getting hungry.
"I'm going to get some kibidango. You girls want some?" Mina asks after following for a while. Ochaco ask Mina to bring her some as well, and the pink girl agrees. She slips away for a minute to pick some up at a stand. "So, an oni believes they can grow strong from what my grandparents fed me? You will simply fall monster!" Mina hears behind her, and she feels a slash to her back. She falls to the ground and as she looks up, she sees a young man with a peach symbol on his katana. Beside him are a vicious looking dog and large monkey, and on his shoulder is a pheasant of some kind.
Mina's eyes widen as the man steps forward, raising his katana. She can't get away and she is absolutely terrified. "Yet another oni to kill. Be glad that your death will lead to protecting this land from more monsters like you," the man says with the evening sun glinting against his katana. When Mina tries to crawl, the dog bites her leg and the monkey grabs the other. As the blade comes down, Mina tightens her eyes shut in terror.
