Chapter 5 Meetings, INVASION!
Hiruzen Sarutobi sat in the council room of Konoha. It's furnishing consisting of his and his advisors seats in the front looking out towards the clan heads and civilian represenatives. The seats were large and comfortable, the walls a light mellow blue. The room was made for long meetings. Hiruzen hated it with a passion.
" I don't think one squad of Iwa-nin constitutes an invasion. We could be over thinking all we actually know they could gone rouge." Yahshira Hamna declared.
Yahshira was on of th few civilian council members Hiruzen liked, Yahshira hated war,having been a samurai from Testu No Kuni. Hiruzen liked the man because he was paitent and listentend to others before refuting or agreeing. Hiashi Hyuuga Firmly stated " One of the killed Iwa-nin was Dakatsuchi no Jisuberi,the man was extremely loyal to Iwa. He's not known for doing things unless the TsuchiKage had orderd it." Hiashi was the Hyuuga's clan he'd been a clan head he'd been on the same Genin team as the Yondaime Hokage. Hiruzen knew the man to be level headed and pragmatic to a fault.
"I think we should bolster our defenses,after that have our spy network find out whats going on." Danzo Shimura said placating the brewing arguement.
Danzo was a man who was more scar tissue than regular skin, he'd been in all three major wars and many of the minor ones. He'd been on the same team as Hiruzen was a Genin. Hiruzen looked towards Danzo, the comment,while not a bad idea, was unlike what Danzo had done in the past. Lately it seemed that Danzo was learning paitence in his old age. " Well this whole ordeals troublesome, Onoki has to know his ninja are dead by now. This move, if he did order it makes no sense. Unless he's probing our defense's. He could be trying to look agressive for the Raikage,so Ei would enter in an alliance. But until we know more this is all semantics." Shikaku Nara drawled out. Hiruzen grinned slightly,Shikaku didn't have a motivated bone in his body. Unless he was fighting then he was deadly especially if Choza and Inoichi stood with him.
"Well, It cannot be coincidental that it was our Jinchuriki's squad that was attaked." Homura pondered aloud. Another of Hiruzen's teamates was being paitent but Homura usually took the "wait and see" approach to things. Hiruzen nodded to that statement. Their was at any given time, eight to twenty dozen teams traversing Hi no Kuni.
To attack the only team with Naruto on it,and as Hiruzen had found out later that fateful day there was atleast seven teams within ten kilometers of the point of attack. The attacking Iwa-nin had to circumvent those teams. Something wasn't adding up and it was bothering the old Sarutobi. " Let's get to the purpose of this meeting shall we?" Hiruzen asked (read ordered) the assembled members. "Yes, Hokage-sama is correct. I would like to hear about this new training idea he's used Team Seven to pilot." Inoichi spoke for first time since he'd arrived there. Finally after nearly eight and half months of going to the clan heads individually, getting all but Hiashi on his side, he could present idea to the council at large. Being that there was only five civilian clans and they were outwieghed by the nine ninja clans. Hiruzen merely snapped his fingers once and one of his ever-present Anbu guards appeared. Neko stepped from the shadows as if she melted from the wall. "Allow today's guests in Neko" Hiruzen calmly orderd.
Neko walked to the closed doors,opening them, then stating"You two can come in now". Kakashi Hatake and Hiro Uzumaki walked in confidence in their gait.
"Here as requested Hokage-sama" Kakashi spoke,he'd only been in this room twice before in his life and those times he rememberd in anger. Hiro looked around meeting every-
one's eyes unflinching. "Yes thank you both for coming today. I've had you report to me monthly on Team Seven's progress. This months report shall be here." Hiruzen said,
then continued." Members of this esteemed council listen well today for the future of our ninja is what we consider today. As most of you know by now, Team Seven has two Jounin-sensei instead of the standard one. I've personally been impressed by the results." Hiruzen stated calmly, lighting his pipe. Danzo looked at his one-time rival for the seat of Hokage and tilted his head,"Hiruzen,you wish to enact the Yondaime's idea? Let's hear this report." Danzo nodded. He'd liked the plan fifteen years ago when Minato Namikaze had brought it before the council then. Fifteen years ago he'd been one of four who voted for the idea. Danzo saw the practicality behind it. As did the Nara and Uchiha.
Hiruzen looked at the two Jounin who'd been called in and made a 'go ahead' motion with his hand. Kakashi started first. "I will tell you at first,I did not see the necessity of having two senseis on one team. Since then my opinion has changed. Having Hiro Uzumaki as a teaching partner has been nothing but a postive. He see's things differntly than I do. With the two of us we have been better abled to talior our training methods to the needs of our Genin. The Genin have made monumental stride's as a team and in their individual skills.
Kakashi paused to let gather his thoughts." For example one of our Genin, Naruto,has so much chakra he rarely face's chakra exaustion. But due to that over-abundance of chakra his control has suffered.I have always had great control of my chakra,and not nearly as much so I can't really know what it's like for him. Hiro as an Uzumaki has tons of chakra as well, He is better suited to help Naruto with his issue because he has a view from experience." Here Kakashi let Hiro speak. "Because me and Kakashi have different speciality's we are able to use a two-pronged approach. Taking into consideration multiple factors,we a better abled to see where our Genin are lacking. We started them in a 'Bootcamp' style basic training for the first few months,to get the bodies and basic skills where they should've been. After they succeded in meeting,our admittedly high standard for such, we moved them on to the next phase. During the first week of said 'next phase',I tested their chakra affinities,knowing what they were was paramount to our ninjutsu training."
Hiro paused for a second thinking on what to continue with when Shikaku asked " What kind of specialities does your team possess?" Hiro mentally thanked the man.
"Team Seven is a Heavy Assualt/Assination team that is also good at tracking." Kakashi replied. Hiruzen cleared his throat letting the room know he wished to speak. " And of their Individual ninja skills?" Clearly wishing to move things along. " Hai, Naruto is the Heavy Assualt specialist,a battlefield sweeper if you will,but make no mistake if he doesn't want to be found most Chunin and even some Tobestku Jounin wont find him..." Hiro would've contiued but was interupted by Hiashi" This is the same boy who ran around wearing bright orange?" Hiro eyed the man and replied "Abosuletly. He painted the Hokage monuement in broad daylight. No one caught him until after he was done. What color does the sky turn during sunrise? Orange. Continuing on, Naruto has been re-worked from the ground up. I would say there is no Genin and very few Chunin that can take him on,his reation time is at low Jounin level. He some how,in his words,'feels' the incoming attacks. His taijutsu is a form I am proficent in as it hails from Uzu. He is also showing to be highly talented at the art of Fuinjutsu. Naruto knows no-less than twelve Fuuton jutsu and four Katon jutsu. Naruto specialize's in fighting multiple oppenents. He is a hard hitting mainly offensive fighter, he'll never have the outright finesse that his teammates have."
" Moving on. Sasuke is our Assination specialist has a fully matured Sharingan. Sasuke is the best at tracking out of the Genin,he is able to scent and sight track. His Taijutsu is his clan's main form. Sasuke is better suited to fighting singular high level oppenents. He is also very strategic in his approach to missions. He has an Anbu-like mindset in some regards.
Sasuke speed and endurance are at high Chunin to low Jounin. He has shown to have a moderate talent in Fuinjutsu as well. Kakashi is teaching in the usage of His Sharingan.
He knows eight Katon jutsu and six Raiton jutsu. He is becoming quite skilled in ocular Genjutsu as well."
Kakashi once agian took over. "Sakura is our second Assasnation specialist. She has perfect chakra control. Perfect, not high, not excellent, Perfect. She excels at Genjutsu and trap making. Her Taijutsu capatilizes on her higher than natural strength. Sakura is also the most strategic of the Genin. On multiple missions we had Sakura plan our attacks,
roles and routes to take. She has yet to fail in find the most cost effective way to do is at high Chunin level in Genjutsu and Taijutsu. Her Taijutsu form is from the Sarutobi clan." Kakashi paused at the Hokage's raised eyebrow. "Yama no ken, Hokage-sama." Hiro aswered the unasked question. Hiruzen was not suprised often these days and that had been a pleasent suprise. "Sakura has shown a desire to learn Iryo-jutsu but as me and Hiro don't know any we've had her begin studying under a Med-Nin part time.
Her progress reports to us have been promising to say the least." Kakashi finished taking a small step back to stand level with his fellow Jounin-sensei. Danzo thumped his cane on the ground."What about missions? Jounin are vital to the villages bring in the largest contracts,if every team has two that puts alot of Jounin off the active duty roster."he questioned with a sharp tone. Hiro grinned "Well I don't know how all teams with this format will operate ,me and Kakashi switch off. Plus missions of that calibre are given by the Hokage or Jounin Commander so they aren't as common. Danzo seemed pleased with the answer,and was going to have the two elaborate but something caught his and every else's in the rooms attention, The Kyuubi's chakra. The Hokage felt a cold vice grip his heart. Hiro's chakra flared as did Kakashi's. The two were about to vanish when they felt it increase,two fold. The amount was enormous. Someone started to bang on the door, "KAKASHI-SENSEI,HIRO-SENSEI IWA-NIN EIGHT KILOMETERS FROM THE VILLAGE BOSS COUNTED HUNDREDS!" Naruto had sent a clone to find them and warn them. Hiro slammed the door open. "Report!"he barked out. "We were doing that exercise you wanted us to run outside the village. We decided to go alittle farther out,thats when we saw them coming up from the ground. It was alot."
"Anbu! Get all active ninja in the village mobilized! Clan Heads Rally your clans and get to the fight..." Hiruzen was ordering when the Kyuubi's chakra increased agian. "Kakashi go to your students. Hiro you're with me! The Hokage vanish into a seamless Shunshin, Hiro following close behind.
The two appeared on top of the Hokage's Tower Hiruzen did four hand signs, Saru,Hitsuji,Hebi and finally Tori. "Ninpou:Hi no Yobigoe" He muttered before taking a step forward speaking with a greatly magnified voice. "Leaf Ninja our home is under attack! Protect the civilians! Drive out the Invaders! Protect our Home!" Hiruzen called out, turining to Hiro "Let's go!" The Hokage's robe flew to side revealing his shinobi armor. The two men vanished landing on the street,and taking off towards the Northren Gate. The two made it outside the walls, and soon sounds of fighting could be heard. The Hokage's arm lashed out suddenly catching a hidden Iwa-nin unaware. A kunai slicing the shinobi's throat,before Hiruzen ruthlessly kicked the dying man away. Hiro was dogding a kunoichi's katana, he weaved his way into her gaurd,kicking her away while doing six hand signs "Fuuton" Ikari no kiru ryoshu" A ball of bladed wind shot from Hiro's mouth catching the kunoichi in the neck and face,which exploded into bits of bone,skin and teeth. She was dead before she could say a word. Hiro felt the Hokage's chakra smoldering,looking he saw five Iwa-nin advancing on his leader. Hiro grinded his Chakra against itself flying through the handsign for an A rank he finished milliseconds after the Hokage. "Katon:Gou Mekakyu!" Hiruzen launched a literal tsunami of flaming death, he heard Hiro mutter "Fuuton:Ken no Senpu." Hiruzen watched the destruction unfold as a tornado that had gale force and cutting winds amplified his own attack causing a exsplsion which shot out bladed winds into to other Iwa-nin slicing legs,arms and one head from neck. The ground was already soaked with the blood of their enemies,Hiruzen saw one hesitating Iwa kunoich. "Surrender and no harm shall come to you"he stated his voice firm. The kunoichi attacked knowing the outcome was her death. Hiro's tanto liberated her head from her shoulders not a split second later.. Hiro then heard something that then made his blood run cold. "THIS IS FOR SAKURA! I'll KILL YOU ALL!"
That wasn't good at all...
