The Heroic God Slayer
Chapter 8
We won't be going straight into the USJ with this chapter. Instead I'm going to have a bit of fun with Izuku and have him face off with an authority that he may not be ready for. Let alone trying to figure out how to use his new one. So on with the show.

Master Jonathan left UA after his meeting with Izuku and told the young Campione to be ready for tomorrow. "I plan to teach you in a rough way. But that shouldn't be too surprising given the school you are at. This is going to be fun," the old warrior said before he teleported himself and his liaison to the hotel they were staying at. Once he was gone, everyone nearby let out a collective sigh of relief.
"That guy is terrifying! Also, why the heck didn't he let me see Yaoyorozu striping down?! While I was watching he blasted me with some sort of wind and knocked me out!" Mineta shouted as class 1-A and the others who were nearby were catching their breath. Momo was confused as well, even though she had heard him say it was a test for Izuku. "Most likely if Izuku hadn't figured it out he would have ordered you to stop. Before you ended up completely naked. He just needed to make a point I guess," Xeimei said after collecting herself.
She went on to explain that she had met the man when she was younger and at the time he was sweet. "It may just be his age but at times he treats those who are especially young like children or grandchildren. And may the gods help anyone who hurts them. I heard he found a child smuggling and… well you can guess ring once. And the people he captured from that underwent tortures so horrendous that they went insane in a few minutes. And then he restored their minds and made them go through it over and over again. Even erasing any resistance to his methods, they had built up to keep them suffering." At hearing that everyone gulped and wondered what kind of monster they were dealing with. With Nezu and Midnight feeling especially terrified of the encounter they survived.
They as well as well as All Might debriefed the rest of the teachers who were recovering in Recovery Girl's room. Vlad and Cementos were mostly healed from the burns inflicted on them. It would take Mic a few days to recover his voice but Xeimei had helped with her magic and potions. Snipe and Power Loaders injuries were less severe than the rest so they had been healed first. As well as Ectoplasm who had a concussion and a few cracked ribs from the clones tossed into him. And Aizawa had a few broken bones but they were fixed thanks to Recovery Girl.
When they all heard the details of the man they were dealing with, let alone the fact he had one shot and later knocked out All Might, they were all terrified. "What the Hell kind of monster could he be?" Mic used his phone to say. Aizawa just sarcastically said, "a Campione as they call themselves. I'm more concerned about the part he mentioned about the source of our powers. To think….. we only have these abilities because of a virus." The rest looked down at that and wondered if those who were born quirkless in the current age actually have stronger immune systems and can resist the virus.
"That might explain a few things but we shouldn't worry too much yet. If what Nezu mentioned was true, this man has defeated the enemy that left me crippled for so long. He may be slightly more of an ally than we think." All Might said while still in his buffed-up state. Recovery Girl is about to berate him when she notices something important. "Your eyes! There's light in them! And you don't look like you are struggling to hold your form anymore! How?"
All of the teachers' eyes widen as they look to the number one hero. He just rubs the back of his head before explaining some of what happened. "After he sent me flying, I was dropped in a different world. Or I guess it's a realm. It was the Norse realm of Alfheim. I happened upon some elves who were being overwhelmed and rushed in to save them. I stopped the attackers, but one hit my injury and I lost my form for a bit. I passed out and when I came to… well they healed me. Restored my stomach, lungs the whole works. I'm not stuck on a time limit anymore. I can keep going." This shocks all of them more. And some are more curious if they could gain the support of magic for various hero and lifesaving works.
Nezu mentions that they would have to go through Izuku to do that. "If what they described is true then Midoriya is the current ruler of the mages in Japan." "Yeah. Luckily he wants to be a hero so he might be more willing to listen to our advice. I have to wonder just how bad some of the others like them from the past were." Midnight says while thinking back on where she ended up during most of the discussion.
Nezu decides to cancel the training at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint for now. Stating that they have a different matter to deal with entirely. While Thirteen is saddened, she ultimately understands. He then advises Vlad to at least let his students in on what transpired and who they are dealing with tomorrow. With that the UA staff let head home to try and rest up after the brutal day they endured.
As Xeimei and Izuku were walking home, they were both contemplating what the first Campione could have in mind for tomorrow. As do most of the students. With the five who were affected by the man's orders wondering if they should even come to school at all.
The next day though, classes seem to continue as usual. Though Vlad did give his students the overview of what happened and who would be involved. Reiko, Kendo and Nirengeki though could vouch for what had transpired. "Wait how do you know about this Yanagi?" the bandana wearing member of class 1-B Yorashi Awase asked. "I tagged along with Uraraka and all of them. I saw what happened to Ashido. Let alone the fact she almost died due to the god involved." At hearing that, the rest of the class gulped in fear.
"I guess he's not showing up. Well maybe we can go on with what we originally had scheduled today." Aizawa says after lunch and seeing all of his students still in class. "No, I just thought I'd be nice and at least let you get the general classes out of the way." At hearing that, class 1-A looks to the door and sees the first Campione in the doorway. He has a different shirt and no jacket on today, but the jeans and hat are the same.
Upon seeing all of their frightened faces, Jonathan rolls his eyes before saying, "calm down. If I was planning to do anything to you I would have done it already. Besides, its time for the kid's lesson." The last statement was given while looking at Izuku with a combative smirk. Izuku is afraid at first but then he starts smiling himself. The rest of his class is looking at him like he's crazy, and Tsuyu asks, "how can you be smiling at a time like this?" "I don't really know. But some part of me is excited at the thought of facing off with him. Something in me is looking forward to this battle!" Izuku says while standing up.
Xeimei looked to her king with some trepidation, before saying, "my master. I will accompany you for this. I will always be at your side." While Mineta is crying blood and commenting about how kinky that sounded, some of the others are curious on what will happen next. Though for three girls they are a bit jealous at how easily Xeimei had said that. Jonathan smiles a bit himself before saying, "I have absolutely no problem with that. Lets take this ground Beta. It'll give you a better feel for what this will entail."
Nezu has since walked up and class 1-B is just on the other side as well. The principal then asks, "do you need me to show you the way sir?" "Nah, I know where it is. It hasn't changed since the old days." Jonathan says while walking away, with Izuku and Xeimei coming behind him.
Nezu shakes his head at that statement and asks, "what do you mean by that? How would you know what the school was like in earlier years?" Jonathan just looks back at the rodent like principal and says, "well that's because I helped fund and found the school years ago. All the hero schools actually. I may not like quirks but that doesn't mean I can't keep an eye on them my own way." At hearing this all of the teachers are stunned. This man who beat them all down was a founding member of the very school that they had attended and may be involved in its operation to this day. "Do you think our jobs are in trouble after we attacked him?" Vlad King asks while they are following the pair of Campione. Nezu has a disconcerted look on his face, but comments that they hopefully do not.
When they reach ground Beta, Izuku is thinking about changing into his hero costume. But Jonathan stops him. "No point to those stupid things for this kid. Those are needed for telling people that things will be okay. Plus, it'll usually have gear of some sort associated. You don't usually need that in a fight with a god." Jonathan says while drawing a sword from his back. When Izuku questions him about those and his other tools the old Campione just shrugs before showing him.
He takes off his shirt and on his back appear to be a variety of tattoos that look like swords. While on his broad chest and arms are tattoos that look like the magatama and shields. Jonathan then demonstrates how they work by summoning a shield from his arm, and the tattoo turns into a trio of rotating mini barriers. He then reaches behind his back and the hilt for one of the blades pokes out before he draws the weapon. Same for the magatama around his neck. "That answer your question?" the old warrior queries with a raised eyebrow. Izuku just nods with a wide-eyed look.
Many of the others who had come to observe were also wide-eyed. Both at how the American Campione summoned his weapons, and at how fit and somewhat scarred the warrior was. "Now then we should get down to a few more matters. You know how to use your Herakles authorities well enough, so we'll skip that. You seem to have a general understanding of the powers you received from Xbalanque. But the other two you seem to struggle with. Namely Horus and the newest one you received from Momotaro. But I think I have an idea on how they work with your archetype."
At hearing that term again Izuku questions what he means. Jonathan nods before explaining that the archetype is what defines each Campione. Those in turn reflect the way the authorities can be summoned or how they are used. "For example, my authorities reflect my own nature. In a sense… you could define them by saying I'm an adventurer and treasure hunter." He notes that his authorities allow him to travel where he wants and explore wherever he wants, and in many cases has items that reflect that aspect.
"You on the other hand have the archetype fitting of hero. Though more reflective of the world we live in now and what a hero represents. That's why you can use Herakles's authorities with no issue. You need to broaden what you see as a hero to understand how to do that." Jonathan explains while twirling his sword. Izuku looks down and tries to consider what he meant by that. But he has a different question for what is going on now.
"You've just been lecturing so far, so why did we need to come out to ground Beta?" Jonathan smirks before explaining his plan. "You and I are going to fight. And I'll also demonstrate that the conditions for some authorities might be heavier than you are expecting." He then twirls his sword once more. Before stabbing it into himself.
A large amount of blood rushes from the man, which causes quite a few observing to either faint or start vomiting. "What are you doing?!" Izuku shouts while trying to keep his own bile down. Xeimei is less successful and pukes on the sidewalk. Jonathan coughs before saying, "showing you some of what I mean. The authority I'm going to use requires a large amount of blood to be sacrificed. If a large number of people have already been caught up in a disaster, I can use that. But I can also use my own blood for the sacrifice. You'd better be ready boy!"
All of the sudden a mass of wind bursts from around Master Jonathan. He pulls his sword out and starts to heal. And then he chants, "bring forth the beast that guides the world. For the price of blood has been paid and now your might has need. Unleash the sky! Unleash the might of the storm! Become the incarnation of that which flows in the heavens!" Upon finishing the chant, a bigger burst of wind comes forth and dust flies everywhere.
Once it has stopped though, Jonathan is nowhere to be seen. Instead, a massive jade green serpent with pink feathered wings is flying above the people gathered. Which makes even more of them faint from the sight. Izuku is slack jawed before asking what he was looking at.
"That is one of the authorities Master Jonathan gained after he slayed the mast god of the Mayan world. Kukulkan. But this is his more brutal battle-oriented power." The one who said this was Sam Etcitty who appeared behind Izuku. He continued with, "You probably didn't notice but on his chest was an image of the gem of the nine winds. It's the other authority he gained from that rogue god, and it grants him greater control over the sky. Even summoning typhoons and similar storms with a thought." Everyone gulped at this and wondered how Izuku was supposed to fight this monster.
Suddenly, a blast came from outside and struck the beast form of Jonathan in the side of the head. Flying towards the city was the UA third year Hado Nejire along with the hero she was studying under, Ryukyu. "I don't know what kind of monster you are we'll-" Nejire started to say but Jonathan in his Kukulkan state spun before smacking her away with his tail. He then summoned a windstorm strong enough that it was sucking away her oxygen. Izuku grit his teeth before leaping in, and with a pair of powerful chops dissipated the windstorm. Since she wasn't fully conscious, Izuku caught his senior bridal style and landed on a rooftop.
While this was happening, Ryukyu tried as well to attack her fellow dragon. But Jonathan was in no mood to suffer fools as he saw it. Before the woman could even attack, he wrapped his tail around her and slammed her into the ground and buildings multiple times. When he tossed her up into the air, Ryukyu tried to unleash a blast from her wings. But the man whipped up a stronger storm that wouldn't suck up oxygen, but the debris inside would knock her around again and again.
Xeimei sensing what could happened quickly constructed a barrier to protect the students who had come to watch. All of them could do nothing as one of the top heroes in the country was tossed around and beaten like it was no big deal.
Once the wind dissipated, the Kukulkan form caught Ryukyu again and tossed her into his mouth. While everyone was shrieking at the thought she had been killed, the man just chomped a few times before spitting the faux dragon to the ground. "Pathetic. You think yourself a dragon. You're not even worthy to be called a wyvern. Stay out of this fool. This is between me and the boy." Jonathan says with gleam in his lizard like eyes.
Ryukyu tries to get up, but the injuries are too much. And she starts to tear up a bit at what he had said. Izuku meanwhile is furious and lets out a battle cry after he is sure Nejire is all right. He then leaps for the giant wind serpent and punches the man in the face. The impact sends the beast backwards before he rights himself with a flap of his wings. He then burst forward at the boy and tries to eat him. But Izuku grabs the monster's mouth and closes it.
But that doesn't stop the two from plowing through multiple buildings. The battle goes back and forth for quite a while with Izuku landing quite a few solid hits on his opponent. But said blows barely phase the monster. Jonathan meanwhile in his new form uses mystic winds to blow the boy away as well as using the large lizard like body for powerful hits.
During this time, Xeimei is helping to heal Ryukyu from the injuries she sustained during her failed attack on the first Campione. "What the heck is going on?! And what is that massive thing that is attacking the school!? And how are you healing Ryukyu? What kind of quirk do you and those guys have?" Nejire asks Xeimei. Though Nezu stops the third-year hero student and tells her that things are much more complicated than she realizes.
After 30 minutes, the monster form of Jonathan's is still fighting Izuku. "Doesn't that thing have a time limit or something?" Mineta asks with panicked wide eyes. Etcitty tells them all it doesn't. "It lasts as long as Master Jonathan needs it or has it active. He'll only turn back if he chooses to do so, or if he's rendered unconscious. And frankly it doesn't seem as though Lord Midoriya will be able to achieve that." When he is done explaining, he notices that Xeimei keeps looking to her sword and gripping it tight.
After watching her look back and forth between the fight and her blade he tells her, "If you truly are his aide and partner, then you know what to do. Don't hesitate." Xeimei looks to the Navajo man with wide eyes before nodding. She then uses a spell to take to the air and get close to the two warriors.
After Izuku had been knocked through yet another building, Jonathan decided to finish the fight. "Disappointing. It seems you aren't ready to be a king of this world. Once this finishes, you should prepare to leave Japan. Because I won't let you stay where I rule." Jonathan says while charging up a blast in his mouth.
Right as he's about to fire, Xeimei jumps in and stabs the feathered serpent in the eye. Jonathan screams and shakes the girl off. She then uses her magic to help Izuku up and get him a distance away. Izuku shakes off the impacts from the fight in transit, but he is still surprised by what she did.
"Are you nuts?! You can't beat him Xeimei! From what I can tell it took everything you had just to get there distract Jonathan and get away!" Izuku shouts while they recover on a rooftop. Xeimei nods before saying, "I know. But I couldn't let you fight this alone. You don't have to shoulder the world by yourself Izuku. I am your sword. And I will stand with you against anything. So please… let me fight with you this day."
Izuku's eyes widen as he sees the resolve in her eyes and hears it in her voice. And comes to realize that he's still trying to be like All Might. Fighting alone and trying to support the weight of the world on his shoulders. 'But that isn't the only way to be a hero or a protector. Sometimes you need others to stand with you. Even if they aren't at the same level, many of them may still have a will to fight and save as many people as possible.' Izuku thinks to himself before nodding and thanking Xeimei.
He suddenly feels something from within his inner world. As if a locked door had suddenly been opened. "Thank you Xeimei. And I think I know a way to give you the strength to fight with me," the newest king says before embracing the Chinese mage. She is surprised by the action but reciprocates it.
While this is happening though, Etcitty has created magic spheres to survey the battlefield. And the whole group from UA see what he is doing. But before any of them can comment on how close the two were, Master Jonathan had found them again. Just as he is arriving though, Izuku does something that surprises all watching. He kisses Xeimei while holding her tight.
"That bastard! How lucky can one person be!?" Mineta shouts while observing jealously. Many of the other guys are jealous as well, though they don't voice it as loudly as Mineta, Kaminari and Kosei. A few of the girls blush a bit at the intimate moment between the two, while a handful who have their own interest in Izuku look on with their own jealous faces.
All of the sudden though, Xeimei starts to glow. It grows bright enough that everyone has to avert their eyes. Suddenly, Jonathan's flying serpent form is hit in it's stomach and then jaw. The incarnate form falls back with a grunt, before righting itself with the winds. And that is when he sees his new opponent.
Izuku is standing with his glaive upon his back and a katana now in his hands. His wings now unfurled so everyone can see. But that isn't the main thing that draws eyes. That belongs to Xeimei. She had transformed, gaining Akita ears on her head and a tail from her behind. She had what appeared to be armored robes that while somewhat revealing, still could protect the warrior. And lastly, she picked up a large stone like it was nothing and tossed it away. "Well brother. Its seems it is time for round two." Izuku says with a glare in his eyes.
Yeah I wanted to introduce a couple of new authorities and set up Izuku change from the original. Plus it felt like a good way to introduce others possibly to the harem… and to the world of magic. Please review.
