The Heroic God Slayer

Chapter 17

Now its time for the Sports Festival. As well as seeing what is in store for Izuku with and his harem. Including having a few others more willing to be a part of this his story and making their own. So on with the show.

(No POV)

The day after the USJ attack, Jonathan met with Izuku one last time. He and Midnight had arrived together, and both seemed to have a bit of a glow about them. "Uh…. You know what; no. I don't need a description aniki. But don't you have a flight soon?" Izuku said while facepalming. Jonathan just chuckled a bit before saying he could get through security with no questions asked. "Another Campione perk after all. Remember, we are above the laws and can generally do what we want. There just comes a personal question of whether we see it morally right or not."

Izuku just gives his elder a flat look as if to say he thinks he's reaching. But the teen extends his hand and tells Jonathan thanks for teaching him. "And helping the rest get used to… what might be happening for us in the future." Jonathan takes Izuku's hand and shakes it. And then he pulls the boy in while deploying a razor-edged shield from his left arm.

But Izuku was ready and quick summoned his harpoon. Both kings had their weapons trained on each other's throats and were locked in a stare down. Until Jonathan broke it with a chuckle of his own. "Well done. You were ready for me to strike. And to strike back." Jonathan said with a nod. Izuku just retorts with a "are you so sure you were the one who moved first?"

This gets another laugh from Jonathan and he tells his younger brother to take care. "Hopefully we'll be able to meet again soon, Nemuri. Until then." Jonathan says to Midnight with a smile. The hero teacher breaks her normal attitude to blush and smile back at the oldest of kings. While a few of the faculty and students watch on with intrigue.

Jonathan then teleports to the airport and past security. Luckily Sam smooths over the reactions of the officers on duty and the pair can head back to the US on the private jet Jonathan had commandeered. "You think he's ready?" "Ah…. That's up to him. I just gave him the crash course on what it means to be a Campione. It's up to him on how far that goes." Jonathan says while reclining.

He then smirks before saying, "but…. he'll have a new challenge before long. One he'll have no choice but to face." Sam just looks at his great great grandfather in confusion before shaking his head and sending some emails back to the Ancestral Lands Historic Society. Wondering what he could have seen to make him think something new was coming.

Back at UA, most of the students were grateful that Jonathan was gone. "He was really manly, but also really scary. No joke; I thought for sure we were gonna die more often than not. Not to mention his teaching style might give our own new crazy ideas! Now that actually isn't too bad of an idea Mineta." This last statement was given by Aizawa as he was walking back into his class.

Once his students had taken their seats, Aizawa said, "as much as I dislike him, he seemed to understand the idea of pushing past limits that we state here at UA." "Well given he did found this school, maybe he was the one who put up that as the motto?" Shoji said with a raise of three hands. Aizawa nods and says that it was likely. And that they had been inspired by him to increase some of the difficulty of the hero classes because of him.

This got groans of exhaustion or wails of panic to resound through class 1-A and then with 1-B. Though both homeroom teachers admitted that they wouldn't be doing it right away. "You've all been through enough in the last week. Besides. There is something more important coming up. The UA Sports Festival." Vlad King explains to his students.

And all the hero course students cheer in excitement for what could come. Though both Izuku and Xeimei were wondering what some of the consequences could be for them if they revealed that they used magic not quirks. Ochaco though was stuck between two thoughts. The first was seeing this as a chance to get her name out and maybe become well known enough hero to give her parents a comfortable life.

The opposite side though was what she discussed with Etcitty. About what could become of those with quirks in a few generations. Or what would be left of humanity once the virus had run its course. 'If it does get as bad as Etcitty-san and Master Jonathan think….. then we could be looking at a near mythic level extinction event on the horizon.' Ochaco thinks while scratching her head.

She pushes this aside for now, and joins in the rest in some excitement for the challenge to come. After classes let out though, three new figures come in to the 1-A classroom. The Big 3 of UA. "Hey there Aizawa-sensei! I was wondering if we could talk with one of your students." Togata Mirio, the top of the Big 3, says with his trademark smile.

With the permission given Mirio extends his hand to Izuku and introduces himself and the others; Hado Nejire and Amakiji Tamaki. "Nice to meet you. Um what did you want to talk about?" Before Nejire can start in on a long slew of questions, Tamaki suggests that they take the discussion somewhere quieter. While still facing the wall.

Izuku shrugs before agreeing but asking Xeimei to come along. "Understood my king." Hearing this gets all three's ears to perk up, with Nejire rapidly firing off questions on what their relationship is, where Xeimei is from, etc. Izuku just sighs before saying, "she'll be able to explain later."

Izuku had sent a message to Nezu, and the principal was happy to lend his office for the meeting. "Thank you for that." "It's no trouble your young highness. I invited someone else to come, given she was also involved in that incident the other day." Nezu says while providing tea for all the students in his office.

After a few minutes the fourth to explain things to arrived. The number 9 hero of the nation, Ryukyu. Izuku is tempted to go into his geek out mode but reigns it in for needing to seem like a king. "So….. can you finally tell us what that was all about the other day? Who was that….. monster that. Well you know." Ryukyu says while rubbing her arm.

Izuku notices that she had some bandages hidden under her gloves. He sighs before asking Xeimei to finish the healing she needed done. "At once my lord." "Okay, why does she keep saying things like that? And what did you mean principal Nezu on him being a young highness?" Mirio asks with confusion etched all over his face.

Xeimei clapped her hands before creating a healing spell circle and directing it at Ryukyu. The dragon woman's eyes are wide, but she quickly relaxes under the pleasing warmth of the healing spell. Izuku sighs before saying, "have you ever wondered if gods really exist? Have you ever questioned everything you know about the world? I didn't until a little over a year ago. When I happened to meet a variety of gods from various pantheons across the globe."

All the uninformed members eyes were so wide they were practically popping out of their skulls. With her healing done, Xeimei showed some of what Izuku was talking about. About the tournament he interrupted to save others. The beings he fought and gained the powers of. And his new position in the world.

Ryukyu sits down before asking if there was something funny in the tea leave Nezu had offered. The hero school administrator laughs a bit before saying it was all true. "So then… that creature. That was a god?" "No… that… was…. I guess you could call him my elder brother. At least as far as being a Campione goes. He's the oldest and most powerful Campione in existence right now." Izuku says while leaning on his arched hands.

Xeimei speaks up next by saying that Jonathan was 300 years old and had dozens of authorities taken from the gods he has fought over the centuries. "The one you faced was taken from the Mayan god Kukulkan. Also known as Quetzalcoatl. It lets him take an incarnate form. And you two saw the results." Xeimei said with a slight look of pity.

Tamaki then ask who she was. "And what was this whole….. transformation thing you did?" Xeimei just chuckles before explaining her allegiance with the Nine Heavens Syndicate. "Okay no offense, but anything with Syndicate feels like a red flage." Xeimei snorts before agreeing. "But its not like that. As for the transformation….. well Izuku is better at explaining that."

All eyes turn back to the young king who was taking a drink of tea. He then gave a general explanation of the authority and his favorite, Herakles Might. "I'll keep the rest of what I can do quiet thank you. Although I guess one of my more unusual powers would only work on two of you." The hero/hero students gave him a puzzled look but moved past it.

"So where do we go now?" Mirio asked while looking to both Nezu and Izuku. The pair shared a look before Izuku ceded the floor to Nezu. "Thank you for that. For now, we're trying to keep things under wraps or quiet. What Master Jonathan mentioned was that the magic world has been a secret for a long time. But with young Midoriya here planning to be a hero….."

Ryukyu finished by saying, "it won't be long before the genie is out of the bottle." Nezu agrees and chuckles. Saying that Jonathan had made that same joke while teaching Izuku and the rest. "I agree that we should keep things a bit quieter. I might just stick to my Herakles authorities during the competition. But sooner or later the truth will have to be known."

The newly introduced people to the world of magic nod. With the more serious conversation finished, Nejire starts in on asking Xeimei a bit more about her and Izuku. Ryukyu blushes at hearing how they are already a couple, along with one other. "Who's to say others won't join ma'am?" Xeimei says with a coy smirk on her face.

Nejire squeals at that, before wondering if she could join in too. Izuku meanwhile blushes at that before talking to his two seniors about their abilities and experiences. Mirio though gets a bit of a laugh at the idea that Izuku is a bit of a player. While Tamaki takes to staring at Nezu's bookshelf.

With the meeting done, and the four agreeing to keep things secret, Izuku and Xeimei head home for the day. And for the two weeks, they practice and train with their classmates to get ready for the Sports Festival. A week before the festival, Midnight stops Izuku and passes something to him. "Jonathan wanted me to give this to you. He told me to tell you: don't open it until the day of the festival."

Izuku raises an eyebrow, but he goes along with a shrug. But not before the building is rocked by an earthquake. "This has been happening a little more frequently." Xeimei notes with a scratch of her head. Izuku questions it in his head, but just lets it pass. 'This is Japan. We're pretty used to earthquakes.'

The day of the festival, everyone is excited for their chances to shine and show off their quirks to the world. Izuku is also looking forward to this. As it would be a chance to use his powers without the threat or worry of someone or something trying to kill him. "Oh, I almost forgot." Izuku says before pulling out the envelope that Midnight had given him.

But then he stops. "Wait…. This is from Jonathan. How do I know this won't do something crazy?" Izuku thinks aloud before slipping off to a different hallway to check the envelope. Unbeknownst to him though, he has a shadow.

Reiko had found Izuku interesting before, but she hadn't had many chances to really get to know him. It didn't help that they were in rival classes. But even when they were stuck in Vanaheim, she barely got a chance to get to know him better. She had been thinking about calling out to him, but every time she was stop by her shyness and the fact he often had others around him.

This time though, she was positive he was alone. "Um, Midoriya?" "Oh hey Yanagi. What's up?" Izuku said with a smile directed her way. Reiko clears her throat before saying, "nothing much, I was just wondering what you were doing." Izuku smiles again before explaining the envelope Jonathan had left for him.

"And knowing aniki, he may have left some kind of trap. Or I'm just being paranoid and he was sending me a letter to say to be careful of how I use my authorities." Izuku says with a humorless chuckle. One that Reiko mirrors before suggesting he open it. Izuku shrugs and does just that.

He pulls out the paper inside and it only has two words: HOLD ON! The two of them give each other puzzled looks, before a magic circle opens up below the two. Before they can move, or Izuku can try and cancel the magic, a blinding flash covers them. When they open their eyes, they are no longer in the stadium for the UA Sports Festival.

Instead, they are on a mountain. Mount Yotei to be precise, not too far from the Noboribetsu springs. "WHAT THE HELL!?" Izuku shouts with Reiko silently freaking out as well. The paper then transforms and makes a magical projection in front of the pair. "Hey sorry about this kid, but it was kinda necessary. Listen up; just before I left Japan, on of my more troublesome authorities activated. It's one I took from Delphi, and it showed some kind of disaster coming to a head there in Hokaido. Now normally I'd prefer to just take care of this myself. But I thought this might be better for you to handle. So, sorry not sorry. You've gotta deal with this new threat. Think of it as a pop quiz. Good luck!"

With that said, the projection fades and the two teens are stuck on the side of a mountain in their gym uniforms. "I am going to kill him when I see him again!" Izuku shouts while pulling at his hair. Reiko though just has her face in her palms and is slightly freaking out at the possibility of what could be next.

Izuku then sighs before asking if Reiko had her phone with her. She nodded before asking if why he didn't have his. Izuku just blushes before saying, "I broke mine. It fell out of my pocket and when I caught it…. I gripped it too hard and crushed it in my hand." Reiko has a little laugh at Izuku's expense before passing her phone to him.

She had Xeimei's phone number, so he could talk to the girl about what had transpired. "Well that answers where you went. Midnight seemed to know though. Apparently, you were supposed to give a the sportsmanship oath, but she had it shifted to Itsuka giving it instead." Izuku sighs before saying, "aniki probably told her or she likely put it together why he wanted me to have that paper."

Xeimei asks what they should do as she is getting ready for the first event of the day. "Okay for now, can you send the number for the CCTH to Reiko's phone? I'll call them and ask to have a place for us to stay set up. As well as any details on what could be happening." "At once my king." Xeimei says before quickly forwarding the number to Reiko. Once it is done, she sends another message. One telling Izuku to be careful.

Izuku just smiles before calling up the Committee. "Amakasu? Yeah it's Midoriya… Well my brother decided to pull a little something that dragged me and one other up to Hokaido….. yes… We're near….. I think it's Mt Youtei. Uh-huh….. Okay….. Thank you. One more thing… have there been any strange magical disturbances in the last few days?" Izuku says this while walking with Reiko along the trail they were on.

Once Izuku was finished, he handed the phone back to the ghostly girl. "So I take it we have to wait for help?" "Uh no. They have a branch office in the city. They should be setting us up with a place to stay. Now though…... I have to protect everyone from whatever this new threat is." Izuku says before rubbing the back of his neck.

Reiko smiles at how he is concerned about how to help others. She then asks what the CCTH had for details. From what the mages had analyzed, there seemed to be large amounts of magic pooling up in the volcanoes. Reiko thought a bit before questioning how long ago it started.

"Uh I think they said they noticed something in Oita, but then it shifted up here to Hokaido. And then it shifted to another active volcano. I guess they just didn't think much of it." "I think I might see what Jonathan might be worried about. If this is one of the gods of volcanoes of Japan, then it could have further reaching effects than we might think." Reiko says before explaining what she meant. How if all of the volcanoes went off at once, the tectonic movement and other effects could cause the rest of the Ring of Fire to trigger.

"If that were the case, the world could be covered in ash. Cooling everything and possibly leading to new disasters." Reiko says while they were walking. Izuku's eyes were wide as he started thinking about what could be at stake if he failed. "Great. No pressure." Izuku says with stressed breath out.

Right as the Committee car was picking them up, another earthquake started. And the committee mage pulled out a mirror to cast a spell to see where the magic was focused. "It seems to be focused on Mt Usu. Should we head that way, my lord?" "Yes. Get us over there now!" Izuku says while getting into the back of the car with Reiko.

Right as they arrive at the base of the volcano, they all feel the magic and energy rise. To the point the volcano appears to be erupting. But only to those with magic, or close to magical beings like Reiko was. And from the flaming pillar appeared to be a being crawling and dragging themselves out of the volcano.

"Damnit! Get Yanagi out of here! I'll handle this!" Izuku shouts before focusing all of his strength into his legs to leap up the mountain. Reiko shouts for Izuku to wait, but the young Campione is already gone. He makes two leaps to get to the top and notices that whoever the being is, appeared to be charred and furious.

Izuku gulps, as he knows that most of his authorities relate to steel. 'Even if this is an Earth god or goddess, I don't want to think about what could happen to my weapons or body.' Izuku thinks while looking over the figure. "Who are you to stand before my raging fires?" the figure says while glaring at Izuku.

Izuku hums a moment, trying to get an idea on who it was he was facing. "I am the god slayer of this nation. Midoriya Izuku." The being starts to laugh before saying, "a green valley. All to be razed and burned by my flames and revenge. Let us see what you can do! God SLAYER!" The figure then lunges at Izuku, slashing at him with fiery claws.

Izuku backs away and draws his katana. He doesn't hesitate and cuts one of the being's arms off. He barely felt resistance so he thought this would be easy. He deflects and dodges more attacks before slicing off the other arm. The being then breathes fire at Izuku, trying to keep him at bay. But the young God Slayer confidently takes advantage of the shadow created by the flames to slip in behind and stab the being in the back.

"Well that was easy. Wonder why aniki was so worried?" "Midoriya! Are you alright!?" Reiko asks as she had the mage use their magic to move her up the mountain. Izuku smiled at Reiko and gave her a wave. Though he was confused by her shocked face and reaction.

And then he felt a new pain. A piercing pain in his back….. and front. As he had a burning spear coming out of his chest. He jerkily looks back and sees a new figure. A young woman, with hair of flame and blazing gauntlets and armor of magma. Her smile vicious as she holds the spear tight.

"I must thank you. You broke the stones caked on me by my father. And now I will take revenge for what he did to me. But first. To leave you with something before you pass." The fiery woman slips up to Izuku's face. Cupping his cheek, and then kissing him. The young God slayer can barely respond thanks to the spear piercing him. Nor can he stop the burning words of power that are trying to burn him from the inside out.

The woman is stopped though thanks to a new actor. Reiko had pushed beyond what she had thrown before and threw a large boulder at the burning woman with her quirk. She is clearly afraid, but the young hero girl is standing her ground. "You have courage child of man. But if you had not struck at me, I may have granted you protection. So that you may carry the word of a new order. Oh well. BURN!"

The flaming woman fires a pillar of flame towards Reiko. The telekinetic pulls another nearby boulder to protect herself. But it is barely enough, as the sleave of her uniform is caught ablaze. Burning the girl's arm and crawling to burn her hair as well. Reiko screams as she rolls to stop the flame, fear filling her eyes as the rogue god stalks towards her. A gleaming obsidian naginata blade held in her hands to cut down this interloper.

But before the blade can fall, Izuku himself pushes through the pain and paralysis running through his body to strike the burning god. Collapsing next to Reiko, who was unconscious from the pain and fear. Right as the goddess shakes out of the pain and stupor, the pillar of magic flame dies down. "It's still not enough!? You have earned a reprieve God slayer! But I will finish what I started here!"

The being then disappears into the volcano once more. Izuku struggles to stand again but seeing Reiko's injuries is enough to get him to focus and pull them both into the shadows. He comes out again next to the mage from the Committee. "Drive! Get us to the closest magic hospital or clinic!" Izuku shouts as he picks up Reiko bridal style.

The mage complies and casts a spell to make the car look like an ambulance. "Hold on! Please Yanagi!" Izuku says in a panicked whisper. As he is passing out from his own injuries, he also quietly says, "I'm sorry. I couldn't save you in time."

So yeah. I was never planning to have Izuku be a part of the Sports Festival. This was always what I had in mind. As for Reiko, she was kind of a later choice. I was honestly flip flopping back and forth between her and Momo for this set up. But I didn't want to just have the 1-A girls be the only focus. Thus, Reiko got sucked into a conflict with a dangerous god of fire and volcanoes. Please review. Also anyone know how to remove some reviews? I want to get rid of that annoying guest review.
