AC: I want to thank FollowerOfAnhamirak for his work in this chapters and the previous one where I forgot to mention him.
Maxxor had rested up enough and decided it was time to talk with Tom. He couldn't fall asleep, as he wanted to check on the boy. It had been too long since he talked with the boy and he needed to be sure he was fine.
The Overworlders told him he was safe and sound, but it wasn't enough for him. He needed to visually confirm it.
He walked along the corridors of Chaotic. He hoped that the meeting was over, or it would be awkward, "I'll just be careful. They will have some questions for me too."
He stopped when he saw the other three rulers and the creature of the other tribe, "How did it go?"
"I told them everything I know to the best of my ability," Tera Motus explained with a small smile.
"Good."
"I guess you are going to talk with Tom Major?" Theb-Saar asked.
"Yes. I need to check if he is fine."
"We already did that earlier. Got nothing to say to Kazzy," Chaor walked away.
The other two followed him a few seconds later. They also already had their words with the humans.
"You are going to talk with the humans?" Tera asked curiously. He gazed back.
Maxxor let out a small inviting smile, "You can come too. I'm sure they will be interested to meet you. You did save us and help us after all."
The ice and rock creature scratched his neck nervously, "M-meeting humans from the Cothica… Y-yes!"
Chapter 121: Tera Motus Meet The Humans
The two creatures walked into the room. Tera felt a little nervous as he just left and came back like that.
"Maxxor," Crellan told him, "You came to give your report now?"
"Not yet. I came here because I'll talk with Tom and his friends. Tom might be worried I didn't show up for a while," the Overworlder replied with a small smile on his face.
"I'm sure he will be happy to see you. He asked a bit about where you were, but we didn't tell him. Did you hear about what happened in your absence?"
"Yes. The humans captured another M'arrillian and they interrogated him."
"Yes. We are surprised by that," the codemaster admitted as he set up communication with Tom's scanner. They only needed to wait for the boy to answer.
Tera Motus stood to the side and listened to them. He watched the screen where the human would answer. He wondered what they looked like and if they were similar to the old stories he heard.
"Still, he is an important M'arrillian. If he decides to leave like that, I wonder if it would cause something bigger to come," Maxxor wondered.
"You think more M'arrillians will just leave Milla'iin?" Hotekk asked.
"Maybe," the ruler of the Overworld raised his shoulders.
"Maybe it will cause a domino effect," Crellan wondered. He didn't sound sure it would happen. It felt more like a hopeful situation. One they were sure wouldn't come.
It was then that the screen came to life and Tom's face was on it, "What is it Cre- Maxxor!" The boy was relieved somehow.
Maxxor sighed and let out a small smile, "Hello Tom. Sorry I've been gone for a while."
His three friends' faces appeared.
"You sure took your time," Sarah grumbled at him.
"And he's alright bro!" Peyton said with a smile.
The black-haired boy chuckled before he gave his attention back to Maxxor, "Where were you? The other rulers said you were busy and you could come back."
"Chaor was also gone, but he came back earlier," Kaz added.
"Chaor didn't explain anything," the green creature sighed with a bit of annoyance, "We went to search for something to fix the portal. It was in an island, away from the continent."
"We went to one of those once," Tom chuckled as he thought back on their treasure hunting adventure. Something that his friends didn't remember that well.
"You told me about it," Maxxor chuckled. He was glad Tom was still safe and sound. Still, his mind told him that it might not be forever. He went on with his adventure, "I won't give you all the details, but we found what we needed to fix the portal. We have the help of a few M'arrillians who came with us."
"M'arrillians?" Kaz asked, surprised.
"You mean some of them are still in Perim and… helped you?" Sarah couldn't believe what she just heard.
"Yes. Those were the ones who turned against Milla'iin and helped you," he answered.
"I don't have any memories of the battle at Chaotic," Kaz admitted. He was coded back then. The memories of that battle were something he would never have.
"You were coded back then. Sarah too," he remembered. They were the two who didn't remember any of that.
"I guess we forgot that part," Peyton nervously chuckled as he bit his lips. There was too much going on to clearly remember everything.
The girl was pissed, but didn't voice anything out.
"It's all thanks to The Messenger of the Cothica. He touched some M'arrillians. At our return, Gal'drad told us that the creatures were biting their times… for generations. They are just out in the open now," Maxxor explained. He then went on, "Anyway, Chaor brought everything to fix the portal, but we had to stay behind. We were prisoners from a tribe we didn't know it's existence."
"Another tribe?" the four humans said at the same time.
At the side, Tera Motus observed the humans quietly. They physically looked very similar to the humans from his history. They had little fur, except on the head, above their eyes and a little bit elsewhere. What was clearly different were their clothes. They stood out much more than any creatures of Perim. He didn't hear the explanation of Maxxor on their escape and how they returned to the Cothica. He was there after all. He was curious about humans. He wanted to know more about them and what was going on in the Cothica. The creature or rock and ice wanted to see their world. He hoped it wouldn't be too damaged after the M'arrillians destruction.
"And one of them is here with us. Tera Motus. He is the creature who helped us escape from that island and guided us to the broken portal," Maxxor said as he gave a sign for the creature to come.
"Really?" They asked curiously. They were obviously surprised that one of those creatures was there.
Tera Motus took a deep breath and approached Maxxor.
The Codemasters watched this cautiously. They didn't know how this meeting would end up. They weren't afraid of the rock and ice creature breaking anything. It was just how the conversation would go on.
"Hello. My name is Tera Motus," he put his hand on his chest, "It is an honor to meet humans from the Cothica once again."
Maxxor noticed their exasperation on their faces. He did know they were annoyed from that fact. They rather called their world Earth somehow. He looked at Tom, hoping he wouldn't just react as usual.
The boy noticed it and brushed that aside before any of his friends could reply that this wasn't the Cothica. That could wait another time, "I'm Tom. Those are my friends Kaz, Peyton and Sarah."
"Those are interesting names," the ice and rock creature remembered that the names of the humans were different in the past. Those that were recorded. He wouldn't comment on those. Their world surely changed, from what he saw.
"You were the one who helped our friends dude?" Peyton asked.
"D-dude?" Tera Motus was confused by that word. He didn't know if it was a kind word or a possible insult.
"That's just Peyton being Peyton," Sarah sighed.
"Come on bro," the portly boy grumbled with an amusing smile.
"Thank you for helping Maxxor and the others," Tom went on.
"No problem. I believed their words when they told us about the Cothica being in danger by the M'arrillians. I just knew they couldn't lie about this. The rest of my tribe didn't believe them."
"That's why we were put to jail, Tera Motus included. It wasn't that easy to escape, but we were lucky to avoid a large fight," Maxxor crossed his arms, "Still, they have two of our Telegracers. Some of them could show up here and try to sabotage the portal."
"They better not! We are in deep trouble with the M'arrillians around. They destroyed an entire town because there was no one there," Sarah grunted in frustration.
"Destroyed a town?" Both creatures were horrified by that information.
"Yeah. That's why Bahrakatan betrayed his tribe. From what he explained," the voice of another boy was heard.
"Who is that?" the green Overworlder asked.
"That's Remi," Tom replied.
Kaz explained, "He managed to escape the mind control of the M'arrillians in our town. He was with Bahrakatan when they arrested the creature. Still can't believe he didn't try to fight back. He just let the creatures arrest him."
The two creatures were aware of that fact, but that human was with him.
"Bahrakatan saved my life from the other M'arrillians. We left town together. I know he is a good per- creature I mean," Remi said at the side.
The four turned towards the man, before he gave back their attention to the creatures.
Tom sighed, "Yesterday, he told us how he survived in Summervale until he came here. He went through a lot too."
Maxxor decided to ask for that another time, "You didn't get into any trouble? Because you have a tendency to be in trouble on Perim."
Kaz chuckled, "No. There is just nothing to do, so we get bored."
"Seems like you are going to cause trouble eventually, if you don't find something," the ruler of the Overworld thought back to his youth. He had a hint of melancholy. Also pain as he had lost a friend by the Danians. He still didn't get him back.
Tera Motus noticed the smile slowly leaving Maxxor. Something he wouldn't ask about. He turned towards the humans, "It is an honor to meet you, even if you aren't here in flesh and blood. You are using a strange method of communication," he turned towards the Codemaster, "I don't see any crystal for that."
"A long story to explain how it works," Hotekk replied. There was so much detail on that. It was simpler to just let it go.
"Now that I look more at him, he looks a little like Magmon," Kaz thought as he scratched his chin, "Not identical, but he was a creature of rock."
"Yeah," Sarah thought about it.
"I don't know this… Magmon creature. Anyway, I hope you wouldn't mind if one day, I visit your word once everything is over," he put his hand on his chest and bowed to them.
The humans gazed at each other quietly.
"We are not the ones who make those decisions dude, but maybe they won't mind…" Peyton didn't sound certain at all about this possibility.
"You-" he interrupted himself. The creature remembered they weren't the leader of the Cothica. Not only that, but they weren't adults, "I hope they will accept my presence in the Cothica."
Tom asked, "Is there anything else that happened on the island? Is the portal fixed?"
"Not yet," Crellan replied, "We just need to give the perfect amount of energy to the portal. It will take a while, but we will be there soon," he came by the side of the creatures.
"Did the M'arrillians try to invade another city?" Maxxor asked.
"You don't know?" Sarah asked, surprised.
"I haven't heard everything since we came back. We did hear from Chaor, but not every detail."
"No. They are busy searching for the 'spy'," Kaz then explained what Bahrakatan heard from his tribe.
The others nodded as they heard the report.
"This is a good thing," Maxxor concluded.
"It gave them time," Tera Motus commented.
After this, they moved onto a more casual talk. They finished communicating about the important things and then there was nothing else. Tom let out a smile, glad that his hero was back, safe and sound.
Maxxor ended the communication by telling the boy one thing, "We will be here soon Tom."
"We're waiting for you," Tom replied.
And the communication ended with farewells.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next: Infiltration.
During the night, what the creatures and Codemasters feared came to be as the elemental creatures came.
