New chapter up. Thanks for reading...things are going to start moving now.
Vala barely responded when the Sith overseer came to take her to the interrogation cell. She went willingly and sat quietly until her Sith captor arrived for another conversation. A conversation she didn't want to have. She was tired of all this. Torture would almost be preferable to all the talk. She didn't even know the Sith's name.
He entered the room, just as he had every time before, but this time he was holding the controls to her shock collar. That simple act alone filled Vala with terror. Was this the visit that would end her life? Had she angered him in some way or had he finally tired of their conversations and decided to dispose of her?
"I can feel your fear, little Jedi, and although I do love to feel the terror of my victims, I can assure you, you will not be one of my victims today." He walked up to the controls to her cell, lowering the forcefield and opening the door.
Vala took a reactive step back, looking between the open door and the Sith.
"It's time for you to return to your people."
The door to the room opened and two soldiers stepped in, weapons out, but not pointed at Vala.
"Please come with me. I only ask for you to follow obediently. It would be a shame to force me to kill you, now that you're so close to being released."
Vala walked out of the cell slowly and cautiously, not totally believing what was happening. She stood at the Sith's side as he walked past the two soldiers and started down the short hallway towards another door. The soldiers followed along behind obediently, their weapons held at the ready.
She'd never noticed before, but the Sith was very tall. Almost a full foot taller than her, and just as large as she'd figured from behind the forcefield. He walked with his hands behind his back, but he gripped the shock collar controls, finger at the ready to punish her for any spark of disobedience.
"Are you really letting me go?" She asked. She tried not to sound shocked and relieved, but her voice betrayed her.
"I am, though I have a few parting thoughts I wish to share with you. A warning of sorts, I guess."
The door they came to opened to the outside. They walked in silence until they came to a ship waiting at a small platform. For the first time since she had arrived weeks before, she got a chance to see where she was being held. It was a planet that was dark and stormy, though it wasn't raining. At least not yet. The clouds in the sky seemed to imply rain was imminent. If the coming weather concerned the Sith, it did not show in his presence.
Standing by the ship was the red skinned Sith pureblood who had captured her, along with a slight human male with light skin and almost sunken eyes. He seemed to refuse to look up at the Sith by her side.
"Prepare for departure, Apprentice." The Sith commanded.
The pureblood and human both bowed and entered the ship and the two soldiers stood a respectful distance away, covering the prisoner, but allowing for privacy.
"You will be dropped off on Balmorra, unharmed. I thank you for your cooperation during your stay, but I feel I must urge you to not reveal the details of your release to your Jedi council."
Vala gave the Sith one last look of confusion. "Why not? Why should I hold anything back from my people?"
"If you tell them you escaped, you will be greeted as a hero. If you tell them you were let go, they will not trust you. They will see you as a possible traitor and you will be treated as such. You will lose all trust they may have had in you. Even from your family."
Vala opened her mouth to speak, but then closed it. She wanted to argue with the Sith, tell him her family and the Jedi Order would never respond in such a way, but she was so close to being released, she didn't want to risk the Sith's anger. She'd do anything to never see the inside of that cell again.
Marr chuckled. He could feel the Jedi's defiance. He gestured towards the shuttle and watched patiently as the Jedi entered and was taken into the custody of Lord Ragnor. He would place her in a special holding cell on this ship, until they arrived on Balmorra. Her collar would be removed and she'd be given her lightsaber back.
Once the ship took off, Marr dismissed the soldiers and headed back to his office.
That couldn't have gone better. With time, the Jedi would search him out and when she did, his true plans could begin.
