AC: I want to thank FollowerOfAnhamirak for his work in this chapter and the previous ones.
Reggie came out of the helicopter on his wheelchair. He saw his two friends with Sarah and Peyton. There was also another boy with them. He rolled down the platform, "There you are," he cleaned his face of a tear that came out. He was so worried for them. The moment they were shipping the battlegear, he convinced his father to come here and meet his friends. His presence gave the obvious answers of his dad.
"Reggie. What are you doing here?" Sarah asked in surprise before her friends asked more questions.
"I came here as soon as I learned you were here. Codemaster Crellan finally gave me the answer, even if I still couldn't call you," he put his hand on his face and moved his hair from his face as they came closer, "We had to take a little detour first."
The others raised their heads and saw Lulu at the top of the platform. She kept her emotions in check, but she was obviously relieved they were fine. The last time she saw them was during the attack of Chaotic. She let out a smile, "Peyton!"
"Lulu!" Peyton said when he noticed her.
The girl joined them down the helicopter, "You are all okay! I didn't know what was going on with you. When Reggie came, he said he was going to you. He asked me to come and here I am."
The parents of the four came as they noticed two teenagers.
"Our parents couldn't come with us," Lulu went on. She sighed, "They are busy at work and they don't really believe creatures are attacking our world. Still, I told them I was seeing my friends."
Chapter 126: Reunion
After this, there was a lot of catch up on as the soldiers unloaded the crowns to protect their minds from the M'arrillians. Still, it was missing an important piece. It was mostly done.
Agitos went to check on the battlegear and checked the quality. So far, he seemed satisfied.
"Things are looking up for us," Intress said.
"Still, the M'arrillians are on the offensive," Odu-Bathax grumbled.
"They are?" Lulu asked.
The creatures nodded while the humans didn't immediately answer.
"Again, we are so glad you are okay. We were worried when your town was invaded by the M'arrillians," Reggie went on.
"Our scanner usages were limited. We didn't get anyone calling us except the Codemasters or the creatures when they were with them," Kaz answered. He wondered if their scanner blocked off other's calls.
Tom's father came, "I think it was to avoid a trap. If anyone you know at school called you for help, even if they were under M'arrillians control, you might try to do something."
They couldn't disagree. They could be reckless if they weren't careful.
"Anyway, you should go inside and catch up some more," the man suggested.
The teenagers agreed and guided their two friends to their room.
The creatures stayed with the soldiers and supervised the transport of the battlegear. Not that they were needed anyway with how efficient they were.
Agitos grumbled as he tossed one or two, "They are greatly done, but a few have flaws. That is the price for making them that quickly."
"Still, so many in a few days," Rothar commented, impressed.
They had to admit that humans were extremely talented in making something quickly. The question was how. Still, they were much more flawed than made in their own ways. It seemed speed had an impact on quality.
"If they could balance it out," Gathup grumbled to himself.
Humans showed that they could be quite fearsome in their own domain. There weren't that many humans on the Cothica for nothing.
The group sat at the table with the parents.
Tom's mother asked, "Your parents let you come here without any questions?"
"No. I- I told them I was visiting my friends for a day. They trusted Reggie when he said that he will make sure everything is okay," Lulu played her fingers together.
Judy giggled, "So you are the cute Lulu Peyton is talking about."
Peyton's face turned as red as a tomato before he hit his head on the table, "M-mom."
The girl also slightly blushed, "C-cute?" She knew well enough she was far from cute or beautiful. Still, judging by Peyton's reaction, he really thought of her that way. Her heart skipped a beat before it was loud in her chest, "Anyway, they don't know I'm in a military base with creatures. They don't believe all of it is real. It seems like a really weird promotion for more Chaotic cards. Not that many agreed with them."
"My father is busy organizing everything and correcting a few problems in the factory. These creatures probably noticed a few flawed battlegear. He's strongly intending to protect the Earth from the M'arrillians."
"Sorry we didn't contact you when we were back on Earth," Tom sighed. He scratched the back of his head, "We didn't have time to think or act before it all went down."
A soldier came in and put a box on the ground, "This is for you."
"W-what is it?" Kaz asked as the soldier left.
"Brought a few things for you. Crellan told me that you left everything behind. You got no games or anything like that. It should be more enjoyable now," the blond boy told them.
"Reggie you are the best bro!" Peyton declared.
"You saved my Code and you didn't accept my reward. Plus, this isn't much for my father in expense anyway. You went through a lot already," Reggie replied as he played with his fingers.
"Your parents too," Lulu admitted.
Jeff nodded, "Yeah. Took a lot of convincing to leave our home and jobs. Still…got to admit I would rather actually know what is going on. I also spend more time with my kids now than before," he decided to focus on the bit of the bright side the situation gave them.
"We learned so many things our kids couldn't tell us," Sarah's mother commented.
Cassandra sighed, "We also almost got caught a few times. It was tough driving out of the city with them trying to block our escape."
Annie clenched her hands a little, "We were in some kind of action or horror movie during our escape," that wasn't something she wanted to remember. Still, it also made her heart pump with some excitement when she thought back.
"And I had to drive through them," Kaz shivered at that thought.
"You did well," Cassandra replied with a proud smile.
They gave more details. There were very few details that Sarah and Peyton didn't hear before.
"You went through so much," Reggie admitted.
"Wait. Your mom shot Arias!" Peyton yelled. He put his hands together, "Bro. That is so sick!"
"Didn't remember hearing that part," Sarah thought back.
"I shot him in self-defence. I knew nothing about him and he entered our house. I wouldn't let them get my son," she sighed.
"Arias didn't have the best talking skills," Tom nervously chuckled. He scratched the back of his head, "The bullet didn't cause any damage, but it hurt him a lot."
"But snipers and carbines are quite powerful," Donald thought back when they defended the house.
"So, we have weapons that work against them," Lulu whispered. That wasn't a scenario she would have imagined before. A way to fight back.
"Anyway, what is the situation back at your homes?" Tom asked them.
"Nothing big is going on in England," Reggie answered. He put his hands together, "I was really worried for you four."
"Me too. I just kept watching the news and wondered what happened at Summer Vale. I knew it was your hometown. There was nothing coming out of town until I saw a recording from someone who went down and was attacked by a M'arrillian. After this, I think no one tried to approach the city," she gazed at the new boy with them, "And who are you? Sorry we didn't say anything before. I am Lulu."
"Reggie."
"I am Remi. I also lived in Summer Vale, until the M'arrillians showed up. I didn't escape in time and my parents are under their control," he played with his fingers nervously, "I left Chaotic at the start of the invasion and I didn't know what would come next. When the M'arrillians arrived…mom and dad protected me and I escaped. After that, I lived on my own until I met Bahrakatan. He let me go. I met him another time and we escaped the city together. It wasn't a pleasant escape and we might have been captured. I would have been done without him. Then, the military came. They put Bahrakatan in jail and I'm here," he concluded his short story.
"A M'arrillian saved you?" Lulu asked in surprise.
"Yeah. The war put him in a state that he… he regrets what he has done. For him, this is the Cothica, a sacred land. What Milla'iin and the others are doing is not what he wanted. I believe him. He wouldn't help me if he was lying and wouldn't let himself be put in jail," Remi concluded as he put his hand on the table.
Cassandra asked, "And there is nothing else they said? I know you visited them together," she let out a small smirk.
"H-how?" Tom asked as his mother and his grandparents looked at him.
"I saw you go in there. Anyway, anything new?" She asked.
"Nothing really. With the M'arrillians on the move, there is nothing else we know. He just told us to expect them to be aggressive with him gone," he replied.
Peyton chuckled nervously as his father gave him a gaze that meant there would be more when they were just him and his parents, "There were creatures with us dad. I swear," he put his hand on his chest and raised his hand a little dramatically.
Alexander asked, "They didn't try anything?"
Lucas kept his gaze on his son, "Peyton. Have they tried anything? Because I will pay them a visit if they did."
"N-nothing!" He waved his hands quickly.
"We just talked," Sarah groaned as their parents were getting protective. They were less intense before. She guessed the M'arrillians on the move made them more nervous.
"Good," the man nodded.
Lulu went on, "I'm sure they finished unloading everything. We don't intend to stay here for long. We wouldn't want to give everyone more trouble with being here. They have to protect all of you and my parents expect me to be back later," she played with her fingers, "Still, I'm really glad to see all of you," she let out a bright smile at Peyton, "I am at ease at least. I hope the Codemasters will let us talk together soon enough," she took out her scanner.
"Me too. Dad doesn't want me to stay for long. I got to return home for my studies and my safety," Reggie explained. He chuckled, "Coming here was the perfect choice for us. We really wanted to check on you."
"As you can see, we are doing okay," Tom replied honestly. He chuckled nervously, "We are really happy you came to visit us. Glad to know everything is okay with you."
"Also, the battlegear you brought," Kaz nodded.
"That's all the workers' work and my dad who orchestrated everything quickly," the blond boy replied.
"And thanks for everything you brought. We didn't expect those gifts yo," Peyton told them.
Lulu giggled, "No problem."
They heard the activity outside. Reggie asked, "And do you think the situation would get worse or not? I know that they will try to conquer more cities, just with how active they are now."
"They believe there is a spy and will surely try to outplay him," Kaz replied.
"But there isn't," Sarah chuckled as to how they could believe that.
"Still, it might get really dangerous soon. They might plan something else that we are not seeing," Tom warned them.
"Once everything is done, we will be leaving…still, contact us at least once a day," Reggie asked them.
"We will," Tom and his friends replied.
Remi gazed at the door. He wondered what the M'arrillians were planning. He knew the others thought the same thing. He sighed and hoped everything would be fine.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next: The Evil Plan In Action.
The humans watched the M'arrillians move while the creatures tried to outmaneuver them, based on their incorrect knowledge.
