Hey guys! Here I am with another chap, you already know how this goes, so...Reviews!
Kinunatzs the Eternal: No, only the versions of Kanshou and Bakuya that ascended to heaven have the anti-monster property. Also, please stop reviewing this story, putting a mark on a story that is provided freely and slamming it in the author's face is incredibly rude and quite toxic behavior, nothing left to say for my part.
Rayish: Having into account how magic swords actually work, Shirou would have to "charge" them with his own magical energy in order for them to be usable, so yeah, he can't spam it, or at least not with his current reserves.
Sambidiah: They will meet eventually, but it will take a little for it to happen.
Kayen1024: I took it directly from the wiki so it shouldn't be wrong. There are a literal translation and the interpreted version though, so maybe it is because of that. More like Riveria with Shirou, actually.
FabledLife: Yeah, they'll want to know more about the specifics. What's stopping them right now is simple politeness and respect, after all an adventurer status is quite private. Yeah, I'm not using that style, when I read it when I was like 12 was really cool, now just only seems dumb. I'm not sure if I have correctly portrayed well yet how much Shirou usually directs the battle, but I'll try in the future.
Asifilltellyou: Yeah, you're right. It's just me trying to unionize the system a little bit so it's easier to talk about it without going case per case.
BBWulf: In part, yes, but nobody would do that because they could kill themselves by doing so.
DPPS: Yep, I've got it wrong, thanks!
StoryReiter: I'm not sure I understand the last part of your review, barrier language yey!
Firefang099: Feats in the anime don't match those in the novels.
NotSpecialDude: Nop, each stat is +10, not x10, if not Heracles would sink continents with a punch.
Almighty Spartan: Yep, fate inconsistencies are deep and wide.
ShadoWARmadaN: Nop and canon. I don't promise to do an omake with Eresh as a Rin face though.
FAKETarzan: You'll see what happens as the story advances, and in regards to shipping, I don't have a super-specific ship in mind, I'll go with whatever feels right for the story as it develops.
Soda-fiedPsycho: I would like to answer but it is 6:36 in the morning and I don't have the mental power to do so right now, and I said that I wouldn't talk about power levels anymore.
a crashclown: Yep, should have been more explored, a novice writer mistake I guess.
Masterx01: Title stays as it is, I like it this way. He didn't know exactly how they found him, and as you said Shirou doesn't know nearly anything of the magic world that doesn't directly have to do with the magus association. For all, he knows elves could be rare but somewhat common in forests. Bell's fastest level up is three weeks if I'm not wrong, the previous record was one year. That's at least 17 times faster than Aiz more or less, and if you count the SS stats...More like 22 times or even more, 4 times don't seem that much anymore, right? And yep, you're right about the reinforcement scaling.
Tordmund: Nop, only when too much mana enters his circuits. Ya tengo un omake relacionado con una skill de chef pensado pero tener tiempo ya es otra cosa...
Exodus12345: Is more of a head start than for him to catch up. Theoretically speaking, even now Shirou could pull Gae Bolg and kill practically anyone, so making him grow at Bell's rate would be an exaggeration. And he can fight in leagues higher than his levels suggest.
Laxard: When you do things for 8 years straight, it becomes a force of habit.
PersonaNinja Lux: Someone who understands, yey!
FerunaLutelou: Confused, tired and they're speaking Japanese to him. I literally read Shirou vs Gil VN scene, that is what he says, it could be only referring to Trace Bullet in specific, but is there, and after looking at Kuzuki fight he can project K&B at the same time, don't know if he sees it as a set or what, even the novel contradicts itself multiple times. Agreed with your strength statement.
FanFicReader712012: Thanks, I'll try to not mess up!
And done, I have to make some writing routine, pulling all-nighters is killing me. Anyways, is 7:00 in the morning, and I'm dying and not only inside, enjoy the chap.
Orario's Streets
Orario was full of the hustle from the people that filled its streets. Steps, loud chattering, and animated conversations filled the air with their sound, and between that Shirou and Tiona were walking towards the shopping district.
Orario was a big city and there were zones where the business was centered around a specific matter, as it was north for most artisans, each zone had its own specializations. Right now, Tiona was guiding him where most clothing shops bulked together.
Her experience living in this crowded city was easily shown when she instinctively avoided colliding with people all while constantly looking to different stores with a big smile on her face, in comparison to him who was having trouble not clash with someone while trying to follow her.
They talked the way towards there, after some explanation from Tiona, they decided that first, they would get him a pair of adventurers clothes, which were generally more resistant and easier to clean the blood off at the cost of a much higher price in comparison to normal ones.
That is, the normal ones, there were others which were many times higher in price, that were made of valuable items such as undine cloth or salamander wool. Seeing as the cost of even one garment was more than he could pay, buying something like that would be impossible right now.
"So, any specific colors?" Tiona asked him after they stepped into one of the many stores.
"I like white and blue, but I guess black and red aren't bad either"
After that, Tiona would make some combinations and give them to him, so he could change to see how they looked on him. White was rapidly discarded, it would go against the purpose of being easy to take blood off, Aiz and herself knew how much of a pain that could be sometimes.
After quite some time of changing clothes and not being convinced by them, he stepped out of the dressing room wearing a pair of dark brown boots, black trousers, and a short sleeve black shirt, that had a quite thin blue stripe between two even thinner white stripes and went from his right shoulder all the way down the shirt.
Tiona stepped back and looked at him from top to bottom while caressing her chin with a pensive expression. She turned around and after a bit of searching, she turned to him, a red sash in her hands.
"What is this for?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It'll go around your waist, in the dungeon is good to have something bright colored so people can difference humanoid monsters from people from a good distance, you wouldn't want an arrow to the head by accident, but that is more advice for lower floors where the more humanoid monster appears"
He nodded, seeing the validity of the statement. It was more of a precaution for floors lower than he would get right now, but getting used to wearing it wouldn't hurt him.
After buying three sets of those clothes, and spending at least half of the money he gained that day, they went to another store focussed on normal civilian clothes. Having in account that this world seemed to be still in the Middle Ages, he didn't expect the variety and quality the clothes had.
Most of it was not on the same quality level as in his original world, but it wasn't that far either. There were a pair of garments that he would say even surpassed the quality of most expensive clothing in his world, but such a quality was balanced off with an equally big price. Tiona informed him that such expensive and high-quality clothes were what most elves aimed for when buying clothes.
After acquiring two weeks' worth of clothing, with rather normal and simple designs, and almost emptying his pouch, they returned to the Twilight Manor and grabbed a snack in their way, Jagamarukun if he remembered well.
Tiona asked about his first time in the Dungeon, seeing her react with enthusiasm and with bright smiles when he was telling his experiences to her, despite having experienced the same things as him over and over, left him with a warm and pleasant feeling that he didn't deserve.
When they arrived at the manor Tiona took three fast steps in front of him before turning around and saying her goodbyes while exaggeratedly waving before running somewhere, a smile on her face all along.
'She is a good girl'
He started to walk towards his room, but the sound of clashing metal coming from the backyard caught his attention, deviating him from his original purpose. When he arrived it was to see many members of the familia sparring while others were shooting at targets, there were several more than before, and even the one he used was still there but…
'The holes are slightly bigger than before, did someone shoot the same way I did?'
With a shrug of shoulders his gaze passed from the people shooting to the targets to the many people sparring, they were at least 20 and from the looks of it, they were training technique as the obviously bulkier ones tried to match the opponent without overwhelming them with pure strength, even stopping for a bit when they accidentally threw their partner away.
Something similar was happening with the more agile ones that we're limiting themselves to the same pace as their rival. For him, it appeared they were trying to make the fight as equal as possible so that the winner would be the more skilled one, so they were actually fighting to improve, not to win.
"Shirou-san, would you train with us?" He turned around to see the same guy he fought with the day before, accompanied by two more members.
"Ah, um, yeah okay, just give me a moment so I can take these to my room and I'll come again," He said, looking at the bags full of clothing.
With a nod and a wave, the group of three went to a counter in the backyard and started training by themselves. He did as he said and returned with his adventurer attire and armor, which he did not take so long to put this time, and went where the small group was sparring, with one of them resting for a bit.
As he arrived they stopped before saying "Ah, you're already here Shirou-san, would you like to spar with one of us meanwhile the other rests?"
He shook his head, provoking doubt and confusion in them, before saying "No, you three will fight against me at the same time"
Their frowned faces talked about the indignation they felt to be considered so weak, one of them even said " Are you making fun of us Shirou-san? Even if you're skilled don't go so much over your head"
Seeing he offended them, Shirou couldn't help but make a nervous smile and scratch with a finger his cheek before breathing deeply and looking at them with a confident smile "Sorry, that was expressed poorly. What I meant was that you won't be fighting with me, so don't limit yourself"
The confused looks were substituted with wide eyes as they saw the weapon that appeared on both of his hands, and how with an elegant spin he was already in a battle stance.
"Prepare, you're not going to fight Emiya Shirou, but you're captain, Finn Deimne" And with a fast step, he was already in front of one.
Meanwhile, from one of the many towers, blue eyes were seeing the interaction and how a level 1 was handling and even beating three levels 2 with relative ease. Her hands squeezed the book she was holding, her mind plagued with the idea of how a mage like herself was incapable of doing such feats that seemed so easy for the boy, a spellcaster himself.
"Lefiya the break already ended, come on, we have to continue"
"Yes, Riveria-sama" The older elf couldn't stop herself from tilting her head when she saw the face full of turbulent emotions that her student was making
'Wasn't she just looking at the backyard? What happened?'
After some hours of sparring, everyone went to take a shower and change clothes. Apparently, Loki had made reservations in a pub for all the familia members, so everyone except him was getting ready. And that was because in front of him was Loki looking at him with annoyance.
"What is this that you won't come? It's a reservation for all the familia you know, and you are part of it" Her tone remarked how serious this was for her.
"Is just that it's a party made to celebrate the expedition right? I wouldn't feel comfortable celebrating something I wasn't a part of and I have to do something really important this night" Seeing her raised eyebrow and her unconvinced face he added "Is about my magecraft, it has been difficult to use and I'm a little worried about it"
Her piercing eyes stared at him as if she looked directly at his soul, before sighing giving him a displeased look.
"Just this time, okay? Next time you will come with us even if I have to make Gareth bring you by force. One of the rules of my Familia is to eat together and celebrate together, so you won't escape next time, understood?"
"Yes, Loki-san!" His face turned a little red as he subconsciously answered in the same voice one would use with a teacher.
"Shall it be then, see you in the morning" And with a slap on the back she left, stepping outside the manor where nearly everyone was waiting.
He let himself relax, he expected more of a fight from Loki, but that was quite easy. Although, it wouldn't have been so if she didn't take into consideration his circumstances and gave him a little time to adapt.
As he turned around, he received a "Let's train again tomorrow, teacher!" from the boys with whom he sparred today, that were going the same path Loki did. He gave an awkward wave and nod, internally cringing a little bit to being called teacher.
Seeing that he had the house alone and he hadn't eaten yet, he went to the manor's kitchen with fast steps and anticipation in his heart. He certainly didn't expect all the commodities the kitchen had, hell they even had fridges and an oven. He had to ask Loki how they were making them work, he didn't see any cable coming out from them.
He leaned in the kitchen counter and projected the blades he was most familiar with, his personal kitchen set. He saw himself in the reflection of the knives, his smile was of one deprived of one of the things he enjoyed the most.
He went to the fridge, while there were a pair of things he wasn't sure what they were, most ingredients seemed familiar. He did have a curiosity about those that he didn't recognize, but there would be a lot of time to experiment with them, so he took some of the ingredients he was familiar with and made himself a good meal, to him, the satisfaction of being able to cook was actually better than the meal himself, if someone else tried it, they would disagree.
After finishing his meal he washed after him and when the kitchen was even cleaner than before he cooked, he left to go to his room.
After entering his room, he took off his shirt, he didn't want it to get sweaty and sat on the ground.
'Trace On'
Mana rushed his circuits and he had to rapidly stop the absorption, his circuits already being visible and washing his body with a faint light. He let a sigh escape, feeling his temperature rising. When he only used a pair of circuits it was okay because he could easily focus on not absorbing too much, but doing it with every circuit was a much harder task.
In his original world, the circuits had to act as a sponge to obtain the mana, but here where the mana was so abundant, it was causing more problems than benefits, he had to get used to not let his circuits act that way, or he would risk returning to the same state he was when he arrived here.
He used the same process he did two days ago to deal with the excess of mana his body had right now, leaving just a sword made of wood in front of him after doing so.
Here was the other problem, he thought while picking the sword and starting to reinforce it. In his original world mana had an inferior quality to odd, which made it easy to manipulate, but here, where the Age of Gods persisted, the mana quality was nearly at the same level than od, which made it quite harder to manipulate, the best way to express it would be that the mana here was multiple times denser, and so it was harder to move.
His projection was luckily not affected as it was more of an outburst of magical energy, he had to make the shape with it, but he didn't have to move the form. But reinforcement needed the user to move the mana around, to fill the "gaps" in the existence of an object in order to improve it, so as the mana was harder to move right now the speed needed to reinforce something increased by a lot.
He sighed as he looked at the now reinforced boken. If there was something positive about the situation was that his magecraft actually got stronger because of the higher quality of the mana. In his original world the sword would get the same durability as a steel one, but would still function mainly as a blunt weapon, but here, focusing on the concept of sharpness and durability when reinforcing it, the sword would not only acquire the durability of steel but the capability to cut through it too.
Having higher quality mana also meant he kinda got bigger reserves, as he would be using less od to accomplish the same process.
He looked again at the sword before dismissing it and starting to reinforce his body. A process that usually would take a pair of seconds took him minutes, though the strength he got in exchange was quite notable. He didn't want to fight against a servant other than Gilgamesh, but he felt like now he would at least have the possibility of survival for more than a few seconds without external help.
But being stronger wouldn't help if he wasn't able to cast it in time when in dire need. That was the real reason why he didn't want to go to the party, he wanted to start solving this as soon as possible, and having into account that everyone was out, there wouldn't be any interruption that would distract him, after all, magecraft was walking with the death, and an error when reinforcing his body could kill him, more even so now that the process was longer and in consequence, an error would have more chances of happening because of the time it took.
He passed hours practicing until he felt drained, both in od and mentally, and decided to go to bed, having reduced a little the amount it took for him to reinforce his body.
Shirou woke up before the sun rose, his routine kicking in despite everything that happened recently. He changed to some of his new clothes, to ones most suited to exercise. His morning routine usually included doing some exercise before taking a shower and starting to prepare breakfast, but he decided to do something different today. So, taking his money pouch, he left for a jog with a specific place in mind.
He forgot to ask Tiona, but luckily he was able to ask for directions from one of the guys with whom he trained yesterday. That is, how to get to the market. He made sure to look around this time and see as much of the city as he could now that the streets were nearly empty.
Luckily for him, when he arrived at his destination, some sales clerks were already preparing for the day, so even though he arrived early, they attended him. Not long after, he was returning to Twilight Manor with three bags full of food in his arms, but seeing it was still early he took profit of the situation and took some deviations in the way so he could see more of Orario.
He had to use a little bit of what Loki gave him, as his own money was mostly spent on his clothes, but if he was lucky he should be able to return all of it today. Even so, all the food he bought wasn't enough for even one meal for all the Loki familia, that was as big as it was in members, but it would be enough if he used the ingredients they already had in combination with what he bought.
As he continued walking making some turns to see more of the city, a distinctive and familiar sound caught his attention, after all, it was the sound produced by the swing of a sword. He stepped towards the sound, finding himself looking at a backyard, a green-haired elf swinging a wooden sword in it.
Their eyes met and he didn't know what happened after that. The wood fence was trespassed, the groceries put aside in a corner, and his hands were holding his preferred swords with a dull edge. The wooden sword was raised as well, and he instantly repressed its lecture after a glimpse, it already had a place in his reality marble, but he would have to consciously visit the history of the weapon after repressing it.
"Level?" A soft and monotone voice asked.
"1"
No more questions were asked as she rushed him and thrust with her sword. The strike was deviated by Kanshou directing the opposed blade to the ground but with a side step, she rapidly spun, freeing her sword and attacking him with a descendant slash that he had to hurriedly block with Bakuya, the clash breaking his posture and leaving him vulnerable. With a swift motion, she pulled back her sword to do another thrust that was only interrupted by her jumping backward to evade a kick in her midsection.
The two fighters evaluated each other both surprised by the display of their rival.
'The strength of those swings was similar to that of those guys back at the backyard'
If one were to evaluate strength alone, it would be similar to that of a level 2, but having in account he already had a pair of matches with level 2, he knew what to expect of their skill level.
'She is using the strength of a level 2, but the difference in skill is like heaven and earth'
The difference was evident, the third-rate adventurers in Loki Famillia sharpen their blades with monsters but were mostly untouched when it came to human conflict, this blade, in contrast, was sharpened not only with monsters but against humans too in battles that losing would mean death to each side.
If what Loki said about the skill of the average level 2 adventurer was true, then she was by no means a level 2 and was actually holding back. But that didn't matter right now, he saw as she readied herself to attack once again and adjusted his own stance.
What came was a wave of continual attacks all blocked and deviated by his married blades, having said that, the difference in speed meant that he was continuously at the defensive against her relentless offensive.
The battle changed when she started to use more than her swordsmanship. A quick thrust to his chest was slightly deviated towards his right, he expected her to step back and attack in the same motion but what happened instead was that she stepped forward and punched him in the thorax.
He was left out of breath and despite being able to block the next slash of her sword he wasn't ready for the kick at his side that launched him a pair of meters at his right. He rolled, evading most of the damage he could have received from that landing, and instantly got up, doing a pained grin.
She didn't continue her attacks, instead, she waited, her eyes looking directly at him as if saying "can you keep up?".
All the fight she had the advantage, her speed compensated for the fact of him having two weapons, and her superior reach combined with her velocity made it so he couldn't pass to the offensive because she could go back to maintain the distance faster than he could go forward to reduce it.
But that wouldn't make him stop trying, Saber beat him up worse and that was a match where he truly didn't hold any possibility. Luckily, reinforcing his swords was much faster than reinforcing his body. In a few seconds, his falchions grew, their shape becoming as if someone made a sword out of a wing, with "feathers" growing out of it.
The eyes of the elf in front of him went wide and her sword came down a little bit just to raise once again after a pair of seconds. This time the elf only raised an eyebrow when he stuck his swords in the ground, as bow and arrow appeared in his hands, and he instantly prepared a shot aiming at her.
The elf nodded as if saying she was ready and his arrow went loose. Three arrows were shot, each blocked by the wooden sword of the elf as she advanced, he dismissed his bow, his hand reaching to the sword at his right, Kanshou.
Seeing that action, she directed a downwards slash at his hand, but he advanced towards her instead, making her arm hit his shoulder as he grabbed that same arm and judo threw her to the ground, the impact making her lose her breath even if it wasn't particularly painful.
He went to raise the stucked Kanshou but even from her position, she struck at him, making him incline his upper body to evade the sword. Her other hand on the ground, she pushed herself up and kicked his rear leg, nearly making him fall to the ground if it wasn't because he used the Overedge Kanshou to keep his balance. He raised the same leg she kicked and kicked her back in the chest, she fell but with a backward roll, she instantly returned to her stance before he could take profit.
He raised Kanshou and directly projected an Overedged version of Bakuya, going for the original was asking for a swift defeat. While he was heavily panting she only had a light sweat layer.
"Ryuu? Whatcha doing there? You're being noisy" The voice of a woman interrupted the tense air as both of them turned to see a rather tall and bulky woman looking at them with a raised eyebrow. The elf opened her mouth, but no words came out, and instead, she only looked down with a flustered face.
"Whatever, I think it's time your friend goes home and you take a shower, we'll be opening in a bit" She said looking at him before turning around and going in by the same door she came off.
The elf looked at him, not with the face of a warrior as before but with the look of someone that had no idea what to say.
"Um, thanks for the sparring" She said before rushing towards the building.
He only nodded as his eyes followed her until she left. He didn't know why he fought against her, what made him leave his original objective just to spar with her. No, thinking more of it, he knew, it was when he saw her blade before being able to block the information.
A sword filled with an ideal, yet a sword that had a tragic history full of angst and hatred. Just a glimpse of its more superficial history was enough to tell such a thing.
Self-hatred and a desire to have been the one to die instead of others. He knew too well because it was like looking at a mirror.
Maybe it was because of that, or because of his own natural disposition and ideal, that such a thought appeared in his mind.
'I want to save her'
Thinking that someone like himself had to be saved, and what's more, saving her himself, even though he couldn't deal with his own demons was the culmination of arrogance and hypocrisy.
But Emiya Shirou was ok with being a hypocrite.
Inside of that same building the elf was going to the shower, when she heard a commentary of her coworker and friend, Syr.
"Did you wake up with the right foot Ryuu?" She said in her usual cheerful tone.
"Uh, nothing like that, why are you asking?"
The silver-haired girl tilted her head before saying "Well, you're smiling" The elf brought a hand to her lips, sensing that indeed she had a little smile.
"Nothing like that, I just had some really good exercise" She said before entering the restroom. Syr stood there, her face showing a little bit of confusion.
After returning to Twilight Manor he took a shower and changed clothes, making a pained expression while putting them. He would have gone and bought a potion, but it was too early for most stores to be open if not for an emergency and he didn't even know where those stores were.
He would have to ask someone later, he could easily deal with the pain, but the already forming bruises could be an impediment in the dungeon and Finn strongly remarked that one shouldn't challenge the Dungeon if they weren't in a good state for doing so.
So here he was now, peeling carrots while onion and leek were being cooked with oil in four different pots and thinking about what happened half an hour ago, not that it supposed a problem, he was so used to these motions that he would never cut himself even while distracted.
He heard a gasp at his back but he ignored it to continue his peeling, if his timing was off and he waited too much the onion and leek would be overcooked and burnt.
He saw a smaller figure take a knife and throw him a glance before taking one of the potatoes he had prepared and start to peel it. Their eyes met before she avoided his glance continuing the peeling.
"I had cooking duty today" She said without looking at him.
"Only you?" He said as if he wasn't planning to cook for everyone himself.
"No, but we just had an expedition, it is normal to oversleep the days after one. We usually schedule the breakfast a little bit later after one, so it's me who got early, so I supposed I could start preparing the things, but seems you beat me in doing so"
"I see" After some seconds of silence she continued.
"What are we doing?"
"Carrot cream and pork meat" He saw as the elf girl, Lefiya, nodded before continuing to peel the potatoes.
Once finished they threw a good quantity of chopped potatoes in each pot and an even higher quantity of chopped carrots in each of them. Shirou added the broth he had already prepared in each of the pots and took out the meat to start seasoning it.
Lefiya looked at how he seasoned the first piece of meat, specifically which spices he was using, before starting to do the same.
Silence filled the room, while both of them concentrated on seasoning the meat and it was a show of the experience both had in the kitchen that despite the abundant number of pieces they finished in only a pair of minutes.
Both of them reclined at the kitchen counter, the silence that was previously filled with their focus on the task rapidly becoming an awkward one. Shirou saw how Lefiya opened the mouth various times just to close it, each time appearing more frustrated for doing so.
"How did you do it?"
"How did I do it?" He said with a raised eyebrow, he wasn't that good at reading people, but her frustration was easy to see even for him.
"How did you get magic before receiving a Falna?!" She was conscient that some species could get magic before receiving a Falna, but because humans weren't one of those, the puzzle only seemed more complicated.
"I don't really know what to say, I guess it appeared in a moment of necessity" Of course he had been practicing it for years, but the form of projection he used at the moment kinda appeared in such a moment while fighting Kuzuki.
"How are you so good at it anyway? Congenital magic has really long chants and its effects aren't that strong, your magic doesn't make sense within its own limits!" He did make a nervous grin at that, it was a point Loki made after seeing his magic and suggested that he say it was a spell of Falna, better for people to think he is a genius that could make shorter chants or something like that than finding him overly suspicious.
But obviously, he couldn't say that to Lefiya, who knew that he didn't have a Falna before the fight. So he decided that he would be as honest as he could.
"I trained, I passed night after night repeating the same process only to fail countless times. I'm not a great mage that will dominate many spells" Lefiya trembled a little when he said that "Nor some genius that knows all about magic, I only took what little I had and pushed it to its limits"
"I know that I won't be able to grow much more as a mage and I doubt I'll be able to learn new spells in the future, I don't have that much potential left. Even if I wanted, I doubt I'll be able to become someone who people can rely on to cure their wounds with some amazing spell or that will give them the strength to fight great enemies"
"I, as someone that will never be able to do such amazing things, have a great respect to mages who have those capabilities and use them to help people"
Lefiya was looking at the ground, her face on deep thought and her hands clenched at her sides.
"I'm sorry, I've been rude to you without good reasons" She said with a soft voice while biting her lip.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you had your reasons" Lefiya nodded, but that only served to make her feel even worse.
After all, her "reasons" were none other than her jealousy and inferiority complex acting up when someone so out of the "rules" appeared, breaking her beliefs on how magic acted and making her feel inadequate.
Shirou, seeing that the elf seemed deeply troubled said "You can go and rest for a bit if you want, I can finish this myself, thanks for the help" Lefiya declined with a head movement.
"No, I'll help you finish the meal, it's still part of my duties" Despite having said that, she still had a troubled face, but as he didn't know the root of the problem he wasn't sure how to help her, so he only nodded agreeing with the elf girl. It seemed something she had to resolve herself, but he would try to help if he had the opportunity.
The rest of the cooking process was made in silence as he didn't want to force small talk with the girl who looked like she was in deep thought. Once finished the meal itself, they started to take out plates from the kitchen and put them in the dining room, where some members with sleepy faces were already stumbling in.
Despite being hungry everyone waited until the official hour to start eating. The chatter stopped when everyone had a bite of their meals, the silence being interrupted by a surprised "the fuck?". As if that was some sort of starting shoot everyone started devouring their plates as if they didn't eat in days.
"You did this Lefiya? It's really good!" The comment was made by Tiona, having to sit near Loki meant he was also near the executives and could hear them.
"It's really good" The soft-spoken blond knight said, making Lefiya blush and rapidly negate with her head.
"No, this was made by Shirou-san, I only helped him a little" He felt how many pairs of eyes turned to look at him, making him feel a bit nervous. Somehow he felt like he just entered a cage with many lions, or with various Sabers.
"Ah no, you've been really helpful Lefiya-san, it wouldn't be so good without your help" Even he wasn't sure if he said it because he really believed it or was just to deviate the attention, but it somehow worked and people seemed to decide that it was just a really good meal made by the input of two cooks rather than only himself.
Lefiya though, who was being shy until that moment, looked at him with a deadpan expression and he knew the message her eyes transmitted "You're full of shit", he could only try to hide his embarrassment at being caught by starting to eat himself.
The elf sighed and started to eat the meal herself, she couldn't hide her smile while eating the delicious food. Loki Familia definitely started the day with the right foot.
Shirou was looking at the mountain of books in front of him. When Loki said that Riveria wanted to see him in the library, this wasn't what he expected.
"Um, Riviera-san, what are all of these books?" He said looking at the beautiful elf.
"Basic World History, The Fundamentals of Magic, Koine for kids, and many others"
"They sound like book titles"
"They are" A silence filled the room, he gulped, starting to feel scared about where this was going.
"I can't read the language here Riveria-san"
"I know, that's why we will be starting with Koine for kids" He started to search for escape routes, but if she was as fast as Aiz and the others, he would already be condemned.
"I want you to finish the first three in two weeks" He looked at her as if she was crazy, given what she was saying, it didn't seem that wrong anymore.
"But I can't even read yet!" He shouted, maybe expecting a little bit of mercy.
"That why you won't leave this room until you're able to read, tomorrow we'll be starting with vocabulary"
He stared at her shocked, he was about to know a facet of Riveria which only Aiz and Lefiya knew, Teacher Riveria.
He wanted to return to the Dungeon, he would feel safer there right now.
And done. So, whatcha think? Good, bad, good day outside where flowers bloom?
Anyways, a few opinions in regards to Shirou vs Ryuu fight would be good, in order to see if this way to approach fighting scenes is appealing to readers. Obviously, both of them were holding back in their own ways, Ryuu slipped a bit near the end though, she is not that great at holding back. And Kanshou and Bakuya raise his physical resistance, so every level 1 is lucky that they weren't in Shirou's shoes.
