Chapter 6

xxx Fortuna city xxx

It had been two months after Nero's departure and Kyrie woke up feeling horrible, she just wanted to throw up as nothing would stop in her stomach, she didn't think anything related to pregnancy since her period came…well, a little weak but it came as per usual anyways. So before long she went have a walk around Fortuna and, on her way, ended up seeing her sister-in-law, that by then had a huge belly hence the fact that she was almost due.

"So Kyrie are you feeling any better?"

"Not really, and you, I mean you three, how've you been?"

"I'm feeling well, just tired of walking around with this enormous tummy, just eager to see their faces."

"Yes that must be exciting, I might go to the doctor, just to be sure everything is ok. I should check and see if it is the stomach flu or anything of the sort.", she said barely making it without throwing up again.

"Yes you should get checked for sure, good luck with that, sweetie."

"Thanks.", said Kyrie before waving her sis-in-law goodbye and getting on with her day.

Kyrie then took her small purse and went to Fortuna's main hospital, to have a complete check-up done.

xxx Arriving at the hospital xxx

"I have an appointment with doctor Gerard Smith at 3 p.m, where is his room please?", she asked one of the nurses.

"Ah miss please it's in the end of that hall, room 62."

"Thanks."

Kyrie went there to wait and to finally know what could be wrong with her. She only waited for a short period of time before the doctor finally called her in.

"So good afternoon miss Kyrie, what brings you here on this fine afternoon?"

"Hi doctor Lee, I actually have been feeling sick to the stomach for about 3 days now, it's constant nausea and I can barely hold anything in."

"Before checking you up, I'd like to ask you a few questions, if that's ok with you?"

"Yes, go ahead Sir.", she said, not really expecting what was to come next.

"When was your last period?"

"September fifth.", she said while fidgeting, just like someone she knew quite well did.

"Are you sexually active, if so when was your last intercourse?."

Kyrie blushed bright pink before answering those unexpected questions, "Yes I am, it happened around two months ago or so and umm...just a couple times."

"Very well then, I'd like to run some tests and check you up from top to bottom, so could you please undress and lay on that table."

"Yes."

After performing those infamous tests and even having some blood drawn, Kyrie was instructed to wait in a room, so that the doctor could talk to her with privacy. She was more nervous than what she first expected to be.

"So miss Kyrie we did run all the tests we could and your problem must happen because you are 2 and a half months far."

"Pardon?", she said while blinking more than once, trying to focus on the couple of words that had just left the doctor's lips.

"2 and a half months…?", she mouthed, her voice hardly above a whisper.

"Yes, congratulations. You are with child.", the doctor said once again, ensuring she fully understood her diagnosis.

That instant, after hearing those words her whole world froze, she just couldn't believe it, pregnant at 17 with no one else's but Nero's child. They indeed had sex more than once but always using condoms, but something must have happened, maybe a condom broke and neither of them noticed, funny thing was that her period came, or so she thought it was her period.

"Are you okay miss?", the doctor asked concerned seeing she was pale and not moving a single inch from her sitting spot.

"Why did my period come then?", said Kyrie still dazzled with that small piece of information that was bound to change her world upside down forever.

"That must have been a little bleeding miss, sometimes during pregnancy that may occur, but any further problems or bleedings you should contact us. Please, set another appointment next month, so we can check your baby's development."

"Yes, thank you", she barely managed to whisper.

"Do you need help miss?"

"No, I am fine, thank you."

xxx At her house xxx

Kyrie sat on her bed looking at nowhere in particular. Her gaze could put a hole in the wall, as she wondered how on earth would she tell her brother. Credo would certainly throw a fit, gosh he might even try and kill Nero. Not that deep down she wasn't happy about having a baby with the one she loved, but she needed to find a way to tell both her brother and the baby's father, without setting up a possible crime scene between them both.

She then decided she would wait until her belly started to show, so she couldn't deny the pregnancy anymore, who knew Nero would be back by that time, and then he could help her break the news to Credo...Oh no, another person she had to tell, the baby's father...And what if he did not take the news very well? And even worse, what if he dumped her and her unborn child? What would she do?

By then she knew her life would change forever.
