As Izzy walked out the door, she saw something in the distance. She looked closely and saw it was Michael watching her.
"You don't scare me, Michael. I'll find out more about you, even if it kills me."
As she looked at him, someone came up behind her and she gasped. But, it was only Simon.
"Damn it, Si!"
"Geez, can't you take a joke?"
"Sorry, Simon. I'm just a little on the scared side. What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to see if we could hang out? It kind of looks like you're busy."
"Yeah, I'm going on a little trip. Do you want to join me?"
"Where to?"
"Smith's Grove Sanitarium."
"Why are you going there? Are you still doing that assignment about Michael Myers?"
"Yes, and I'm not going to stop until I get the perfect story about him."
"Izz, you know that's a bunch of shit, right?"
"I don't think it's a bunch of shit. If you don't want to join me, fine. I'll go there alone." She said as she got on her bike. "Are you coming or not? I'm not going to force you."
Simon thought for a moment. He shrugged.
"Fine, I'll go. Only to keep you protected. Who knows what goes on there." He said getting in behind her. She started the bike and it roared like a race car at the finish line.
"Hang on." She said as she revved the bike up as she and Simon started driving away toward Smith's Grove. Izzy's mom watched them from the window as they drove away and then looked across the street where she saw a shadowy figure watching her. She backed away in shock at what she saw. She hoped and prayed once more that Izzy and Simon would be safe and hoped that they'll make it to Halloween.
12:00 PM
They soon reached Smith's Grove. They both looked at each other for a moment.
"Are you ready to do this, Simon?"
"As ready as I'll ever be." He said nervously
"When we get in here, please be respectful and be on your best behavior."
"I thought I was respectful?"
"You get what I mean, Simon. Let's go." She said as they walked to the door.
"Can I help you two?" The Lady receptionist said at the desk
"Yes, my name is Izzy Hardy and this is Simon Zein. We've got an appointment to talk to the doctors who treated a patient back in 1978.
"What is the name of the patient?" She asked them. Simon and Izzy exchanged scared looks.
"Michael Myers." Izzy said as the nurse gave them a shocked look like she had seen a ghost in front of her.
"Let me go speak with a doctor about that." She said as she walked away to find the Head doctor of Smith's Grove.
As they waited for the nurse to come back, they looked around and saw the patients around them.
"Izz, are you sure you still wanna do this? This place is giving me the fucking creeps."
"I'm positive." She said as she looked at the TV which showed a news report.
"In other news, the town of Haddonfield has been hit last night with the tragic murder of Lt. Daniel Wilkos, one of the survivors of the Firefighter massacre of Halloween '18. He was found in his house by his wife, which she says that he was stabbed to death but he managed to tell her something. So, tell me Mrs. Wilkos, what did he say to you before he passed?"
"The only thing he tried to say was: "He's back. Michael's back! Run!" She said in tears for the loss of her husband.
"We're are all very sorry for your loss and I hope he rest in peace. I'm Shannon Mantle and you're watching THE HADDONFIELD DAILY NEWS."
Izzy was shocked. Michael had claimed another victim the same night she went to the Myers House. She took out her recorder and pressed the record button:
"This is Day Two of my investigation and I had just found out while waiting for the interview at Smith's Grove, that Michael had claimed a victim the same night I went to investigate his house. He must've came back when I got there. I hope I found out more about him and maybe find out a way to stop him before he kills anyone else. This is Izzy Hardy, reporting for the investigation of Michael Myers."
Soon, the nurse approached Simon and Izzy at the waiting area.
"The doctors will see you now, Ms. Hardy. If you'll kindly follow me, please?"
"Thank you." Izzy said following the nurse to where the doctors were. "If, you don't mind me asking, how long have you worked here to know who Michael is?"
"I worked here ever since they first brung Michael here. By the way, I've forgot to tell you my name, it's Veronica Warner. In case you need it for your interview." She said as they approached the double doors of the conference room. "I never knew what went through that boy's mind, but I'm sure that he would never do something like that.
"I'm sure of that too. I also hope I get the answers I need as well."
"Well, I hope you do. I better be going, It was nice talking to you." She said walking back to the front of the sanitarium.
"Thank you, you as well." Izzy said. "Simon, before we go in, please do me a huge favor and be nice. I don't want us kicked out of here."
"Fine. Can I ask some questions, If I have anything, I mean?"
"Yes, just don't ask anything stupid, please." She said as they entered through the double doors to the conference room.
As Izzy and Simon entered the conference room, they looked around the room and thought it looked almost like a courtroom with the judges looking at them in a trial.
"Hello, you must be Ms. Hardy. My name is Dr. Terence Wynn and this is my nurse, Marion Chambers."
"Pleased to meet you both. This is my assistant, Simon Zein. I hope it's alright to bring him along as well."
"No problem. Shall we begin the interview?" Dr. Wynn said as they sat down at the desk in front of the conference room chairs. Izzy started her tape recorder.
"This is Izzy Hardy and Simon Zein, at Smith's Grove Sanitarium with Dr. Terence Wynn and Nurse Marion Chambers who treated Michael Myers back in 1963 leading up to his escape and capture. So, tell me Dr. Wynn, what was it like when you took care of Michael? Did you have to have supervision when you're near him?"
"Well, Ms. Hardy. We didn't have to have supervision when we were near Michael. He was a harmless kid who hardly did anything. The only thing he ever did was stare at a wall or a window, never saying a word." Said Dr. Wynn.
"Did you ever try to help him talk to anyone or ask him why he killed his sister that night?"
"We've tried to help him talk. But, like Dr. Wynn said, he wouldn't talk, wouldn't move, wouldn't do anything just gaze out the window looking at who knows what." Nurse Marion said.
"When Dr. Samuel Loomis was Michael's doctor, how did it go with him?"
"When Dr. Loomis first met Michael, he said in a conversation I had with him long after he became his doctor that he knew what was living behind that boy's eyes." Dr. Wynn told her and Simon.
"What was living behind Michael's eyes, Doc?" Simon asked him.
"He told me that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply evil. You could also say that when I heard about Michael's escape and his killing spree in 1978, I knew we all should've listened to him, but we chose not to."
"What would you both say to those who think Michael is still alive and think he'll be roaming the streets this Halloween night?"
"I speak for the both of us when I say that, if he does return and is still alive, Lock your doors and bolt the windows as good as you can. Stay off the streets and stay safe this Halloween."
"You're really scared about this, aren't you, Dr. Wynn?" Izzy asked him.
"Yes, I am. After what happened to Marion that night in 1978, I'd make sure that Sam's warning about Michael is heard and not ignored ever again."
"Well, I thank you both for taking the time to have this interview with us. This is Izzy Hardy and Simon Zein with Dr. Terence Wynn and Nurse Marion Chambers, and this has been day 2 of the investigation of Michael Myers, also known as the Boogeyman of Haddonfield." Izzy said as she clicked the recorder off and placed it back into her bag.
"We thank you, Ms. Hardy and Mr. Zein, for including us in your research about Michael."
"It was our pleasure, Dr. Wynn. I'll make sure that Dr. Loomis' warning about Michael will be heard all over Haddonfield." She said as the conference room doors bursted open.
"Dr. Wynn, come quick!" Said Nurse Veronica with fear in her eyes. "Reggie's gone berserk and has a knife in his hand! He's in the cafeteria!"
They all started running toward the cafeteria. As they got there, they saw that one of the cops was injured at the left arm.
"We tried to stop him, he won't let us get near him without getting slashed." He said as Dr. Wynn examined his arm.
"Marion, Veronica, get him to the ER. I'll take care of him." He said as both Marion and Veronica rushed the injured cop to the ER. Simon and Izzy watched as Dr. Wynn tried to calm the boy down.
"Reggie, can you please put the knife down? I'm not going to hurt you."
Reggie started to calm down and started to lower the knife. As Dr. Wynn got closer, Reggie slashed Dr. Wynn's hand.
"Dr. Wynn, are you alright?" Izzy asked him with worry on her face.
"Yes, I'm fine. Luckily, it isn't fatal." He said as they backed away from Reggie.
Izzy thought of something for a moment.
"Can I see that Sedative, Doctor?"
"Izzy, what are you about to do?"
"Trust me, I have an idea. Tell me something about Reggie, Dr. Wynn?"
"He has a personality disorder, where he can have a different personality."
"Basically, like he's someone else?"
"Yes. Whatever you're about to do, please be careful."
"I will." She said as she walked toward Reggie. "God, I hope this works."
Reggie was about to get ready to stab her until…
"Michael!"
Reggie stopped dead in his tracks as soon as he heard that name.
"Michael, it's your mother. Please, baby, put the knife down."
Reggie started to slowly lower the knife down.
"That's my good boy. Put the knife down. That's it." She said as he placed the knife down on the floor. "Now, come give mommy a hug."
He ran to her and gave her a great, big hug. As he did, Izzy gave Reggie the Sedative in his arm. Then, he whispered to Izzy and said, "Stay away from my house, Izzy. I'll be coming for you real soon."
Izzy's face drained white as she heard what Reggie had said to her. Officers came and took Reggie from Izzy and took him back to his room.
Simon walked slowly toward her. "Izz, you alright?"
"He said he was coming for me."
"What?"
"He said if I didn't stay away from his house, he will come for me."
"What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to take that risk and continue this investigation. Whether he wants me to or not and I know who we should talk to next."
"Who?"
"Laurie Strode, the survivor of the 1978 Halloween massacre."
