Thank you so much for all of the feedback! I love hearing what you guys think and I can't wait to write more. I know this chapter is pretty short but I've been helping my mother move and I have a slight case of writer's block, BUT I'm going to go ahead and drink this wonderful "grape juice" and hope that I can figure how to transition Rose and Dimitri's relationship. I also wanted to put something out there until I have the next chapter up. I won't keep you from it any longer.

"I honestly don't think I need this much clothing. We should take some back." My words seem to fall on deaf ears as Olena continues to hang up clothes into my closet.

Overboard was the only thing that crossed my mind as hanger after hanger, filled with clothes, made their way to hang on the racks. The woman was a shopping machine and boy did she not leave a single thing out. By the time we'd left the store the cart looked like a moving mountain and my nerves were nearly fried.

Sweaters, long sleeves, short sleeves, flannels, cardigans, sweats, jeans, pajamas, underwear, bras, socks, hats, scarves, gloves, jackets, and an array of shoes were now finishing their way being tucked away. The closet went from bare to pleasantly filled. Finishing her task, she quickly stuffs price tags into bags and closes the door behind her.

"Please." I say for the first time. "It must have cost a fortune and I don't need it."

"You needed it and don't worry about the money. Its what parents do. Dinner will be ready in an hour." She dismisses me promptly before smiling and walking out.

I stare after her dumbfounded and slowly sit down. She had unknowingly opened a can of chest ache at her comment. Parents? Did she view me as one of her own? Fear and doubt flood me and I push it down before it can consume me. Of course not, she barely even knew me. Closing the bedroom door, I make my way into the bathroom and turn on the water. Turning around I find my reflection.

"…you're nothing but skin and bones."

Olena's comment from the other night rings in my head. She wasn't far off. I definitely looked like I've been a while without food. My cheekbones were extremely noticeable and my collarbone stood out way more than it should. Pulling off articles of clothing I observe my ribs were starting to become defined. Sighing I knew it didn't really matter because if Olena had her way my figure would probably fill out soon. Dropping the last item of clothing I quickly make my way into the warm water and let the world drift away.

The shower didn't last long despite how good it felt. Drying myself I quickly dressed in a simple pair of black sweats and a purple v-neck. Sitting down on my bed I pull out the text books that were sitting on the nightstand when we got back. United States History, Biology, Statistics, and American English. Sighing I pull out the pack that Olena had gotten me and quickly stuff them in along with the binders I had organized earlier. I'd only been here for the weekend and I could bet I would have homework tomorrow. A knock sounds at the door before it opens to reveal Dimitri.

"Abe dropped these off and said you would need them for tomorrow." He explains holding out an arm of uniforms.

Getting up I grab them and set them on the bed. Confusion fills me. What kind of public school wears uniforms? Turning back around I find Dimitri still there.

"Anything else?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

Dimitri doesn't say anything else as he stares me expressionlessly at me. To my surprise my stomach flips and heat starts to rush to my face. He opens his mouth to say something but is cut off.

"MAMA I'M HOME!" A girl's voice shouts as the front door opens and closes.

Without a word Dimitri turns and leaves. Hanging up the uniforms I leave one on the window seat with my bag and head downstairs. The smell of something delicious reaches my nose and I follow it, and the sound of voices, into the kitchen.

"Who's Rose?"

Entering the kitchen Olena gestures to me. A tall girl spins around to look at me.

"This is Rose." Olena says as she sets the table. "Rose this is my daughter Viktoria. She's your age."

Viktoria doesn't say anything and we both stand still at both ends of the room. Tilting her head, I watch as she takes me in and I take the time to do the same. She was pretty. Tall, slender, brown hair with blonde streaks, and pretty brown eyes. Something about her reminded me of someone I couldn't put my finger on. The room is silent. School? No. Bus? No. A minute ticks by…Tv? That's it! She looked a lot like that chick from Vampire Diaries.

Everyone stops moving and I watch as Viktoria's face breaks into a wide smile. Bounding forward she stops in front of me and grabs my hands before starting to jump. I make to take my hands away but she tightens her grip as she squeals excitedly. She makes me start jumping too.

"Why are we jumping?" I ask startled. Everything inside of me wants to shy away but she won't let me.

"Because we're going to be best friends." She exclaims excitedly.

I vaguely see Dimitri and three others pass into the room before we stop jumping. Slightly out of breath I find myself pulled into a hug and freeze up. Viktoria lets me go and steps back still smiling brightly. She feels like the sun shining down on my shadow.

"Mama said you're my age and that we'll be going to school together." She rambles. "It'll be like one long sleep over! Come on let's eat."

She grabs onto my hand again and pulls us to sit at the table. Looking around I find two older women, a little boy, and old lady again. Olena sits down and so does Dimitri. As plates of chicken and potatoes are served Olena explains to everyone that I'll be living with them for a while. I'm introduced to Sonja, Karolina, Paul, and Yeva. They all seemed nice enough and I tried to ignore the contemplating stares coming from Dimitri. I guess it was better than the rude comments. Conversation flowed easily and I found myself start to relax for the first time since I've gotten here.

Please feel free to leave a review and I'll have a new chapter up soon!
