James POV
I open my eyes at the sight of the burning sun among the blinds. I turn to Madeleine, who is sitting with her head on my shoulder. I take on me some of white socks, some white shorts and a black blouse. I walk slowly to Mathilde's room. I go down in the room beside the kitchen , where Mr. White's secret room used to be, and now it's my fitness room. I take a towel from the bathroom and fill it with a bottle of water. I slowed down with the warm-up while I was thinking about the exercises I was going to do.
After I finish warming up, I put my towel on the back of the press bench, lifting the 30kg bar to my chest, doing 3 sets of 10 reps each. Then I do 3 sets of 10, Hammer Curl. And then as the last exercise I do some reps of Barbell Curls .
When I finish, I put the dumbbells in their place and position the press bench, as it was before. I take off my blouse, because I sweat a lot, and I let go of some Pull Ups.
Suddenly I hear a voice from behind:
-101,102 ..., 103
I turn and see Madeleine leaning against the doorframe.
-Good morning handsome!
-Good morning beautiful!
She starts laughing, leaning towards me and placing her hands around my neck. She gives me a long, sweet kiss on the lips. I let my hands rest on her waist, lifting her off the floor. She wraps her legs around my waist , stroking my hair. She removes her lips from mine.
-I love you, she tells me.
-I love you too and I promise I will love you even when my life is over.
-Awww, James, you're making me cry. Don't say such things anymore, I'm in tears.
-Sorry, but I'm telling you the truth, I'm serious, Madeleine, I love you until the moon and back. You're the mother of my little girl, the love of my life and my future wife.
-James ...
She take a deep breath, shedding a few tears.
-James, I love you and I will never stop doing it. You are the first and last person I want to spend the rest of my life with.
I smile, she smiles. I wipe the tears lightly with my finger, giving her a light kiss on the lips.
-Come on, stop crying, because you're making me cry too.
She starts laughing and hugging me.
-You want to help me to take a shower, because I think I have a muscle fever and I won't be able to take a shower.
-What can I say Mr. Bond, you wanted to train, not me.
-Well, do you want to live in the house with a fat old man? Don't you like my muscles?
I put Madeleine on the bench, straining my biceps.
-Oho, you have something there!
-As much as I have down there.
-Nah, you can't have that much.
-If you don't believe me, come and check me out, I say, raising an eyebrow.
In the second second, Madeleine gives in, throwing herself into my arms. I hurriedly climb the stairs with her in my arms, heading for the bathroom. I take off my socks and shorts, tossing them on the floor. Madeleine enters the shower, turning to me. I also enter the shower, heading for her. I knelt in front of her.
-I told you it's not that big!
-But it's the right size, right?
Before Madeleine could answer the question, my tongue slid between her legs, stroking her over the sensitive points. Madeleine moaned obscenely, her head falling on her back against the shower wall. Madeleine's head is on the matte blue tile, her eyes are closed, one of her hands is in my hair, while the other is in her blonde strands. I stop, looking up at her.
-Did you like that, honey?
Madeleine nodded, blushing. She bit her lip, meeting my eyes, before lightly throwing her eyes at my body.
-You ... I think ... uh.
Madeleine stumbles around the words she wants to say.
-Breathe, Madeleine, breathe! I say, smiling.
-I think ... I want you in me! I get up, smiling naughtily, approaching Madeleine, leaving no space between us. Her breathing and pulse quicken. I lean forward to kiss her. Madeleine rests her head on my shoulder, wrapping one leg around my waist. I put her on the shower floor, leaving me on top of her. Her head fell on her back, her hands were on my back, and my penis was in her, speeding up my hip movement to reach orgasm.
The steam of the shower steamed the mirror as our souls intertwined.
Hour 11:23
Because it was almost over and Mathilde was finishing school, I decided to go for the jewelry from which I booked Madeleine's beautiful engagement ring.
I walk into the jewelry store, pay for the ring with the emerald box. I walk out of the jewelry store, putting the box in my jacket pocket, heading for the car.I look at my watch and see that Mathilde has a little more time to finish the school and I'm at 10 km from her. I put my speed on my way through the narrow streets of London. I see in the mirror, two police cars behind me,which signaled me to turn right . Because I had nowhere to park, I go a few streets ahead. They overtook me, signaling me to stop right now. I signal to them that there is a parking lot along this curve. Seeing how the clock was ticking,I sped to the parking lot . Suddenly a red truck shot cut me off, speeding towards me. I heard just pain, the creaking of metal, the dripping of water and then a muffled fog that seems to envelop my mind.
The car is a twisted piece of scrap metal wrapped around the tree like a caress all over the body, a combination of two entities into one creation. It takes three men and more than a few tools to get James out of the car.
The emergency call is delayed by the police, the delay of assistance due to slippery roads and rain, even the man, now drenched in blood, lying pale and motionless on the stretcher between the four policemen. Is quieter than the gentle stillness of the background noise produced by the rain.
The emergency room is noisy and full of doctors, nurses and agitated patients. This is just another life, hanging from a broken thread, it keeps the delicate balance between life and death.
Lung collapsed due to a perforated sac, two broken ribs, blunt force injuries, rapid blood loss, brainstem injury and possible swelling of the skull due to a sudden stop of the car that hit the fallen tree. The two surgeons are more optimistic, but the rain and storm seem to stop everyone, the whole hospital moving in slow motion.
Time continues to flow, hospital coffee continues to taste awful, and fluorescent lights continue to flicker.
• Madeleine's house (actually theirs)
I'm lying on the couch waiting for James and Mathilde to show up. I glance at my watch and see that it's late. I decide to call him. I dial the number and the voicemail answers me.
The number isn't working *
Now I'm really starting to worry. James never leaves home with his phone unloaded. .
Suddenly someone calls me.I look to see who it is and I see Eve calling me. -Hello, Eve!
-Hello, Madeleine, I'm sorry to tell you this, but James had an accident, come to the hospital quickly, don't worry about Mathilde, she's with Q, he took her home.
-But how ... what happened ?!
The phone hangs up.
•At the hospital
Madeleine get in the hospital, where she is greeted by Moneypenny, who leads her to the waiting room.
-But what happened?
-The police only told me that he was taken off the road by a truck. They did not give more details.
-Well, what happened, is it serious ?
-I'm sorry Maddie, but I don't know, the doctor will tell us.
Madeleine bit her lip with her eyes fixed on the room where James was being operated on, with tears already streaming down her side of her eyes. The nurse comes to Madeleine with some paperwork to fill out.
-Mrs. Bond, you need to sign these forms. Enter today's date, enter your first and last name, your husband's first and last name, and then answer the questions below.
-Ok I understand ! Madeleine says, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.
Madeleine finishes filling out the documents and hands them to the front desk nurse, then returns to the chair next to Eve. She rests her head on her back against the wall, knowing that James is wounded, possibly to death. Somewhere on a operating table in the hospital, bleeding and hopeful that he might return home, and Madeleine could do nothing just to wait. Her heart pounded, and her brain continued to send horrible images of what might have happened.
Meanwhile, Mallory appears wet from the rain, and he walks disappointedly to the waiting room. Eve motions for him to sit next to them. He approaches, stopping in front of Madeleine.
-I'm sorry, Ms. Swann!
Madeleine nods, trying to hold back her tears.
-James Bond's friends and family? Said a nurse.
Madeleine quickly got up from her chair and walked over to the nurse.
-He came out of the operation. For a while I thought I had lost him, but he is lucky to have withstood such an accident. He should recover completely in at least a few weeks.
Madeleine's shoulders crumble in relief, and Eve and Mallory hug her.
-He is unconscious now, but he should wake up at any moment.
It seems to Madeleine that a stone has been taken from her heart. She returns to her seat in the chair, trying to get rid of the rest of the stress.
The rain continued into the night and early morning, but it continued exactly as events continued to move as well. Madeleine had fallen asleep with Eve in the waiting room, and Mallory had gone back to the office in the morning.
James had survived the night, survived the operation, but had not yet come out of the darkness and the rain-soaked forest.
His heart kept beating, but his brain function wasn't barely there, a possible result of many things.
The trauma intensive care unit was quieter, less busy, fewer nurses and doctors fidgeting, and fewer loud beeps from the devices and monitors.
His hands raised the chart to see, and his eyes narrowed to read the doctor's messy scribble.
The soft sound of the intravenous drop sings a familiar lullaby, and two bags have been replaced, unscrewed and veins checked.
He has no fever, no stop in the constant beating of the heart that the device supports, and his pale pink lips are covered by a cloud of oxygen. Apart from the beating of the monitor and the quiet breathing, the patient is silent.
The nurse slips the clipboard back into place on the door, going out into the hallway and slowly pulling the door behind her.
Around his head James has a bandage and another in the rib area. There is an IV to his left and an oximeter on his right index finger. To his left is a heart monitor and wires that are glued to his chest.
• The third day after surgery
Madeleine continues to sit in the waiting room. This time she is alone. Eve had work to do, so she left.
-Ms.Bond, your husband woke up, you can come see him.
Madeleine gets up from her chair and follows the nurse to the hospital room where James is. She enters the room slowly, seeing James staring at the ceiling. He turns her head, seeing a familiar face.
-Madeleine! He shouted, trying to get up to take her in his arms, but Madeleine hurried to stop him.
-You're not allowed to move, you fool! I'm here now. How are you feeling?
-If I was trampled by a truck! What can I say ... hurts all when I breathe or when I move.
-But what happened?
-Was leaving to pick up Mathilde from school and ...
I start coughing while a pain is pressing on my chest. Suddenly I can't stop coughing and can't control my breathing. My heartbeat quickens, followed by a series of pains during the operation. Madeleine starts to panics, trying to help me. She gives me a glass of water, while gently massaging my ribs. I take a sip of water, trying to calm down. I stand up a little higher on the pillow, trying to calm my breathing.Madeleine's face makes me feel sorry she took part in this scene. Madeleine sits down on the armchair next to me, moving her hand to my cheek.
-I think it would be better if you not talk for a while.
I nod yes, continuing to look at her. She's so scared and worried, I'm sorry for the situation I put her in. If I had been more careful, all this wouldn't have happened. It's my fault, and now the people I care about the most are suffering because of it. I'd rather die than put Madeleine in such a situation again.
They lost so much time before, all part of the game. But it wasn't a game they created, and neither of them won, not really. However, she cannot find in her heart to regret the game because without it, she would never have met him.
James falls asleep with his hand between Madeleine's, and she presses her lips to his cheek one last time and murmurs:
-That wasn't part of the game.
