A/N: I am not at all good at computer and stuffs.. Somehow, chapter 14 got deleted (thanks to me!) ! So, I had to publish it again! Sorry for the inconvenient! Its actually so embarrassing!

Akane went up to the roof to get some fresh air, because she was having a hard time breathing and she was feeling suffocated in her room. Once at the roof, She started taking some deep breaths to calm her uneasy nerves. She is still having a hard time believing that her aunt Suki will finally come back to her! She knew that she didn't have much time left, but she didn't expect this to be this soon! Everything in her life is totally messed up now! How can she fix all her tangled up problems within this short period of time! Thinking that bitterly, she sits down on the roof tiles and bends her knees up as she hugs them with her arms. She kept staring at the evening sky with tears in her eyes as she thought to herself.

'Why do things always have to be so complicated for me! Why can't Kami give me a little break from all these troubles! My mom is coming back to me after so long, and look at me! Oh honestly! I hate myself! I miss her so much and I really want to be with her, but..but instead of being happy about this news, I am afraid of it! How pathetic of me! What am I doing? Why am I doing all this? This is not making any sense to me anymore!

Yes, I always wanted to get rid of this forced engagement with Ranma and not only this, I was also eagerly waiting for this day to come when my mom would finally return to me and take me out of this crazy chaotic life! That was the plan, right? That was the only reason why I stuck with this unfair engagement where I only got rivals and insults as my reward! I was working from the very beginning for this day to happen, wasn't it?! I always wanted Ranma to get irritated at me, and choose his other fiancé, so that I can easily leave with my mom to fulfill my dreams and leave behind all the craziness that surrounded me! But, now that everything is going according to plan, why am I feeling so suffocated? Why does it feel like some unknown force is pulling my life out of me?!'

Akane became so depressed as she thought about all this. She sniffs as her lips started trembling, her eyes started pouring tears as she hides her face on her bent knees,

'Who am I kidding here?! I know why I am feeling this way..! Because, I know I have fallen for this dummy..! Oh Kami, before I knew what was happening, I fell in love with him.. But It was not supposed to happen. I was not planning to fall for him at all… but.. but I couldn't help myself! Only Kami knows how hard I tried to stop myself from loving him. At first, It was so easy for me to go with the plan. To make him hate me and me to feel nothing for him. But then, as time passed by, with all his crazy antics, his childlike attitude, his possessive behavior towards me, I don't know when It became impossible for me to hate him… I thought.. I thought that I don't have to hate him to make the plan work, if not fiancé's, we could at least be good friends…!

However, I was wrong! It was this mistake that made everything difficult for me! Why did I allow myself to stop hating him? Why did I start seeing through all his insensitivity? Why did I stop caring that he has other fiancées? Why did I start forgiving him? Why did I start following his paths? Why did I start counting on him? He confirmed to me very clearly that what I heard was wrong, that he hadn't said he loved me…! Despite knowing all the truth, why did I keep letting him play with my feelings? Why did I let him take advantage of my situation? Why did I follow him like a fool! I shouldn't have done all that! I shouldn't have come to this place in the first place! It's all my fault… I am such an idiot! What should I do now?! Oh Kami! Please help me! Please I can't.. I...I don't want to leave him.. I can't live without him! How am I going to explain all this to mom? She won't understand me.. I know she will be upset with me.. But.. but I can't.. I just can't.. I can't live without this baka.. What should I do now..!'

She started sobbing hard on her arms. Her shoulders started shaking as she tried to stifle her sobbing while pressing her lips tightly.

"Akane!"

She hears Ranma's voice from behind her, but her emotions were so messed up at that moment that she didn't even have the strength to stop her sobbing. She was mentally exhausted, emotionally drained, all she wants right now is to forget about Ranma, her mom, everyone and to hide somewhere where no one would ever find her.

Ranma was so lost in his daydream that at first he didn't even notice that she was crying. But when he called out her name, only at that moment did he notice how depressed she was looking and how violently she was sobbing. He didn't waste any more time standing there as he instantly ran to her side and kneaded down beside her. Without any hesitation, he immediately circled his arm around her shoulder as he says in a panicky tone,

" Kane! Hey! Stop it, damn it! Why are ya crying like this!"

And to his utter surprise, in her response to his plea, she became furious at him as she looked up at him heatedly. She jerked his arms away from her and pushed him hard to make him take his hands off her. Ranma was not ready for that, he immediately sat back beside her and gave her a surprised, hurt look.

" 'Kane…!"

"LEAVE ME ALONE!"

"Hey, cool down.."

"NO! JUST GET OUT FROM HERE!"

" Kane! What's the matter with ya!"

"I JUST WANNA BE ALONE, RANMA!"

Ranma tries to approach her again, as he tries to put his hand over her arm, but she again whacks his hands away. She was still sobbing hard, her eyes puffy red with her tears as she kept glaring at him stubbornly. He composed himself as he looked hard at her eyes, then he says to her in a determined tone,

"I am not leaving ya alone like this..! No way! Not a chance!"

" WHY ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO ME! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME! WHY ARE YOU NOT LEAVING ME ALONE, RANMA? WHY ARE YOU MAKING IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR ME! I JUST CAN'T TAKE THIS PRESSURE ANYMORE! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT!?"

" 'Kane… please.."

His voice was soft, his eyes pleading, telling her how hurt and uncertain he is feeling at that moment. His features look so vulnerable as he tries to approach her again. This time, when she felt his touch, she didn't resist like before as she let him lay his trembling hands on her arms. She looks down still crying as she kept repeating same words to him in a defeated tone,

"Please Ranma, I can't take this pressure anymore.. Please.. you won't understand what I am feeling.. Please leave me alone.."

"You don't have to take any more pressure alone, Kane.. We both are into this together.. Please don't panic like this! We will think of something.." He said softly to ensure her, but he saw her shaking her head as she looked up at him with urgency.

"You don't have any idea, Ranma! You don't know anything about my mom.."

Ranma looked hard at her and says ,

"I know, okay!? Kasumi told me everything.."

That made her blood go cold as she whispers to him harshly,

"Kasumi! What did.. What did she say to you?!"

Ranma was getting worried to see her react this way, so he tries to approach her politely,

"That.. She is like your mother and she doesn't approve of our engagement because it was arranged. And she is thinking we were being forced to do it.. And uhh.. Umm she knows about my other finances as well and she is not happy with that at all.."

"That's all?!" Akane asked, looking at him hopefully.

Ranma blinks his eyes in confusion as he replies,

"Yeah, that's what she told us.." He gave her a concerned look as he asked her, "Is there something else I should know about?"

Akane gave a defeated sigh as she turns to look at the sky again. She again hugged her knees with her arms, then resting her chin over them she said in her low broken voice,

"You are such a baka, Ranma.. This won't even come to this point if you had just stopped playing around and started taking things seriously.."

"Hey, stop blaming me for everything, tomboy..!" He protested in the same low voice as he made himself comfortable beside her. He intentionally chose to sit closer to her as their shoulders pressed to each other. He thought that she would instantly move away from him but to his utter surprise, she was not complaining about it, neither moving away from him, so he thought it's okay with her as well. He peeked at her from the corner of his eyes and saw her breath hitching from time to time as she gave her full focus on the night sky. He sighs sadly and says,

"If you are this tense about her coming, then Ya should have warned me about yar aunt Suki before, Ya know.."

She smirked with no humor in it as she asked him with her broken voice,

"Why? What difference would it have made then, hum?"

That made him troubled as suddenly his brain losses all its connection with his words,

"That umm.. I uhhh.. That is umm yeah.. We could uhhh… I we cou cou.."

"Baka.."

"HEY! STOP CALLING ME THAT! I AM TRYING MY HARDEST OK?!"

Akane shook her head in disappointment and says nonchalantly,

"You can't even form a proper word, Ranma! Then what about you taking the pressure off of me?"

Ranma again looked like he was out of words as he kept trying to form some relatable words to make her believe him. Akane understands his struggles and says,

"Look Ranma, if I didn't had a promise to keep, I would have told you about her long ago. She is my mom after all, a big part of my life and I love her. And.. I also know that she won't allow me to marry you, because…. because…"

"I know why… it's ok.. I understand…"

Akane sighed feeling tired,

"No, no you don't understand anything, Ranma. If you did, you might have understood why I suddenly agreed to marry you that day."

"What!" He turned to her with surprise in his eyes.

She didn't turn to face him though as she continued saying,

"I couldn't inform you about my aunt, but I did warn you on that wedding day.."

" Huh!? Wait a minute! You did?! But I don't..."

He stopped his complaining as the sudden memory's flashback came to his mind, almost turning his full expression blank,

The wedding day..

Ranma got ready to fight her as he arrogantly warned her , "What! You wanna fight about it?! You'll ruin that pretty dress of yours like that."

Akane narrowed her eyes at him and said,

"HMPH! Fine, be that way. Obviously I made a mistake when I pushed myself to go through with the wedding. But, I'm warning you, Ranma… If you call it off at this point, you'll regret it…."

Present moment…

Ranma's face becomes white with the sudden realization.. His eyes went wide with shock as he whispers to her,

"But…. Kane, But I thought.., I thought you warned me because of that nannichuan! I don't understand!"

Akane again smirks as she bits her lower lips, then she says in a low voice,

"That's the main problem, Ranma. All you ever thought about was your training, your fiance problems, being a man amongst men for your mother, getting your nannichuan, getting free food, that's all… You never thought that other people might have some needs and urgency as well.."

Ranma was fully taken aback by what she said to him. It's like she had just slapped him with the harsh truth of his life. She is right, he is selfish! All he ever thought about was himself! He never thought how his actions may hurt others or how his ignorance can make Akane so insecure. He neglected her so brutally, even dared to run off to get the nanchuan first , leaving her all alone on the wedding day. The sudden realization struck his guts so badly, his guilt was so vivid that he was having hard time breathing. He gets angry at himself as he totally lost all his words to express his guilt to her. He averted his eyes from her as he clenched his jaw tightly and balled his hands tightly. Then he said to her in a hard tone,

"So WHAT that yar aunt is coming!?"

Akane wrinkles her eyebrows in surprise as she asks him while turning to face him,

"What did you just say? Do you think I am joking around here!?"

"I know 'kay!" He snapped as he turned to face her as well, "I know ya are not kidding around here! But we would figure out something. Don't make it complicated for me!"

"WHAT?! I AM MAKING IT COMPLICATED FOR YOU ! If it is that easy, would I react like this, Ranma! Nothing would work.."

"STOP SAYING THAT, BAKA! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YA! YOU ALWAYS ACT LIKE A TOMBOY, BUT NOW YA ARE CRYING LIKE A BABY AND ALL! AND YOU CALL ME BAKA, BUT GUESS WHAT WHO THE BAKA REALLY IS! YA HAVE A STRENGTH LIKE A GORILLA FOR GOD'S SAKE, BUT YOU SURE HAVE A BRAIN LIKE A BULL! I HAVE DEFEATED A DEMIGOD FOR YA AND YA ARE SAYING I CAN'T HANDLE YAR DAMN AUNTIE! WHAT! WHAT'S SO COMPLICATED HERE , TOMBOY! LOOK, SHE WANTS TO GIVE YAR HANDS TO A NICE GUY, THAT'S ALL RIGHT?! SO, ALL I HAVE TO DO IS, BEHAVE LIKE A GENTLE GUY IN FRONT OF HER AND NOT CALL YA ANY NAMES, THAT'S ALL! HOW TOUGH IS THAT, YOU DUMMY!"

Akane couldn't help herself as she burst out laughing hearing him.. To say, Ranma was shocked was beyond imagination. He felt kind of insulted by her sudden outburst though as he growled in irritation and asks her moodily,

"What are ya laughing at?! You have gone crazy or what, tomboy? One moment ya are crying like a baby and now ya are laughing like a crazy!"

She glimpses at him chuckling as she said in between her giggling,

"You.. Mr Saotome.. will restrain yourself from calling me names, huh?!"

Ranma blinked his eyes in confusion, he started scratching his hair as he says,

"Well, that is the plan actually!"

She giggles again, "Honestly Ranma, do you even realize how many times you have called me names on your long speech!"

"I did!?" He asked, turning red with embarrassment.

She shakes her head at him in amazement,

"You are completely hopeless, baka!"

She again turns back to stare at the night sky, but now with a beautiful smile on her face. Ranma couldn't take his eyes off from her elegant smile, her face so beautiful, eyes still puffy, her hair messy, but still she looked breathtaking. At that moment, he realized that, it's not only that he wants her, the truth is, she has become a necessity for him. Her presence, her smile, her smell, her touch, he needs all of her to live.. Without her.. No, it's not possible for him.. He knows that he is late, but he won't give up one her. They can't give up on each other. He can't let that happen.. Because, the day he feels that they have given up hopes for each other, that day will be the end of him. And he can't end everything like that.. He is a fighter and he will fight for her..

Mentally determined, he hurriedly clasped his shivering hand with her warm hand. She turned to face him with surprise and gave him a surprised look. He looked serious, his eyes telling her his honesty,

"Kane.. I promise ya.. I won't give up.. Please believe in me.. Believe in us.."

Akane bits her lower lip as she eyes their interlock hands with a warm smile. Her eyes tears up, but before she could say anything to him, they heard Nodoka calling them from downstairs,

"Ranma, Akane dear! Your dinner is getting cold , dears! It's already late! Please come down to have them! "

Ranma and Akane both sigh in annoyance. Akane pouted at him as he takes the responsibility to reply back to her,

"Okay, mom! Just give us some time.." He turns to Akane and asks her,

"Shall we, then?"

Akane's face became sad again as she nodded at him. She stood up slowly and started making her way towards the path of her window. When she bent down to reach her window, she cried out in surprise as she felt him engulfing her waist and taking them both in the room at the same time. When they entered the room safely, he released her and winked at her,

"Ranma! Don't surprise me like that!" She whispers breathlessly.

"It's just the beginning, Miss Tendo.." He smirked at her and started walking away from the room, leaving her behind.

Akane's heart started beating rapidly, painfully. She saw him walking away from her and suddenly, her whole world started to fill with uncertainty and darkness... Her whole body felt cold as she started to shiver in unknown fear. When she saw him putting his hand on the soji door to open it, she didn't waste anymore time and called out his name in a desperate manner,

"Ranma!"

Hearing her urgent plea, Ranma quickly turns to look at her, but before he could ask her anything, he felt her arms go around his waist as she hugged him tightly, frantically. He felt her body shivering as she hid her face deep in his warm chest.

"Ranma.. Ranma please.. Please… promise me that you will behave.. You will make everything right again... And you won't disappoint her... Please Ranma please.. Help me.. Please I need you.."

Ranma didn't hesitate for a moment, he hastily circled his arms around her and returned her hug with the same desperation. He doesn't know why, but he was thankful to Akane for taking the initial step and hugging him tightly, because he badly needed this. His heart was filled with so much uncertainty that he was having a hard time expressing his real emotions to her. For the very first time in his life he is feeling extremely nervous about this whole situation. This feeling is so new to him, the feeling of losing her, feeling of anxiety about the new revelation about her relationship with her aunt. And not only that, the way Akane was reacting to the news, it's making him even more scared.. He don't want to lose her. He can't lose her! Akane is his, only his! No one can take her away from him! No one!

He tightens his hold on her as he hides his face on the crook of her neck. They stayed like this for a long time. They both could easily feel their nervousness and fear in their hug. They both tried to calm their nerves while losing themselves in their warmth, not letting go, only tightening their hug from time to time. After some moment had passed, they eventually calmed down but didn't let go of each other. Still hiding his face on her shoulder, Ranma whispers to her softly,

"I promise, Kane. I will behave myself. I will try my hardest... But Please.. promise me Kane, you won't give up on us.."

She shakes her head over his chest as she whispers back to him,

"I won't.. I promise.. I will never.."

She lays her head over his chest and finally sighed in contentment. She felt him resting his head over her head as both their anxiety slowly died down. They both got relaxed at each other's warmth and got lost in the magical moment of their closeness.

At Ukyo's okonomiyaki..

"Have you found it yet?!"

Ukyo scowled loudly, feeling angry and desperate about her surroundings.

"Oh miss Ukyo, I have searched everywhere, but I couldn't find that card anywhere..!" Konatsu says, sweating nervously at her direction.

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! I NEED TO FIND THAT CARD AT ANY COST!"

"Please dear miss Ukyo, I will do my level best! I promise you, if I can't find it here, I will surely bring that number for you.."

She growled angrily as she gave up on her searching. She sat down on her futon and grumbled angrily, grabbing her pillows tightly with her fists, she whispers to Konatsu while giving him a heated glare,

"I don't want to know from whom and from where you will bring it for me, Konatsu. All I know is, I need that number.. I NEED to call THE AMAZONS as soon as I can! No matter what the consequences would be..! I NEED Shampoo IMMEDIATELY!"

One more thing, have you guys noticed, it's 14th February and it's the 14th chapter! I was not planning it, I swear! It just happened! And here I was, getting upset because I couldn't manage to post any Valentine's special for my RanmaxAkane.. But, surprisingly, I managed to finish writing this at the most perfect timing!
