Thank you for the reviews! It helps me keep writing and gives a sense of excitement! Sorry I'm late on updating, my kiddo got sick and I've just been dealing with that. But here's the next installment. Let me know what you guys think :)
The air outside was biting cold, snow covering every foot of the earth for as far as the eye can see. Nothing seemed special about the forest, nothing out of place. There was barely anything living out, the cold too much for most animals to bear. Yet here she was, misplacing the fallen snow quietly. The cold didn't faze her since her energy was constantly regulating her body heat. She walked forward, her skin prickling with excitement as she felt the tickle of an abundance of auras at the edge of her senses. Her steps quickened till she was just above where two auras were. She sent a large amount of energy into her fist before punching the ground, relishing in the resounding boom and cracking of the earth from her single strike. The earth gave way but she wasn't satisfied with the destruction yet, so she charged another punch and watched in sick satisfaction as the earth gave way fully. She jumped down in the crater created by her and landed on a metal walkway. The two auras were barely there now, most likely just about to fade away into blissful death due to the debris falling on them. Normally killing would make her feel squeamish but today, with these people, all she wanted to do was banish every soul back to the deepest pits of hell. She walked forward confidently and finally felt the aura's disappear.
What a marvelous thought vessel…let us bathe in the blood of our victims…the voice slithered in her head. She grimaced at its voice and how the phantom pulse of its energy hummed through her body. She knew she wouldn't need it's energy but it's as if her body wanted it to course through her. Shaking her head to clear herself, she went forward.
Her hand reached to the small pouch resting on her hip. It held an ominous amount of needles, easier to throw at multiple enemies but harder to control. But she wasn't here to be in control. She was here to cause mayhem and disorder. Her daggers were fastened to her sides and her small sword against her back. Her hair was braided tightly to avoid causing her any distraction for she couldn't afford to leave it down. It'd just get in the way of her mission. She fished out four needles to rest in-between her fingers as she readied herself. Stopping just before the end of the hallways she had been walking down, she sensed about six auras ahead of her. Smirking, she continued to walk ahead past the doorway. She brought her arm up and threw out her needles with enhanced force, knowing that each one would be impaling the person's carotid artery and watched them drop quickly. The last two turned and screamed at the quick killings, running towards the other hallway. She stepped over one of the bodies, following the cowards. Pleasure began to build in her chest, the hunt was on and she was proud to be the predator. She began to hum the lullaby her mom used to sing to her as she reached into her bag and got more needles to fit between both her hands. She reached the end of the hallway to find the double doors closed and twelve auras gathered in the room beyond them.
She assumed maybe ten were with weapon, but wasn't too sure. She smirked and went through the door to her right, standing in front of the wall where she could feel two auras standing close by. She closed her eyes and breathed in and out, beginning to pool energy into her left shoulder and side before running through the wall. She threw out two to her left where she had last felt them, sensing their auras snap away. She stabilized herself before quickly grabbing the man in front of her by the neck and lifting him. Warm liquid oozed over her hand and she squeezed hard, the needles in her hand sinking into the mans throat immediately killing him. The debris created a cloud of smoke and the agents began shooting wildly. A bullet grazed her side and she hissed in pain as she crouched down quickly. She touched the small wound, triumph in finding it already healed. She fished into her pouch and produced more needles before reaching out with her senses to see how many people remained. Three were dead, one was faint and stuck under the rubble of the wall. That left eight, which she could handle in one sweep of her hands. Licking her lips, she rolled over to the next set of desks before popping up and throwing out her hands while releasing the needles. The firing ceased and in place were thumps from their bodies dropping. She stilled for a moment, sensing that two of them were still alive. Straightening up, she wiped of her hands on the sides of her legs and walked towards the closest one. Squatting down next to the woman, she brushed her hand against the woman's cheek and watched her tears roll out of her eyes.
"I'm sorry to have to kill you…but you were on the wrong side of things," she softly spoke as she reached for one of her daggers, "I hope you leave nothing behind besides this horrible place, and if you are leaving more may they find peace with your death."
She brought her dagger up to the woman's temple before pushing it in quickly. The woman's eyes opened wide before her whole face and body relaxed. She moved onto the next body, repeating the process for the young man. She stood up and looked around, a sudden sadness pinging her heart. She shook her head and cleared the thoughts threatening to spill over, she couldn't risk the negative emotions piling through now. She would deal with it all later. Aria chastised herself and argued that she was doing the right thing, especially since this was an evil organization. She wiped her dagger on her black pants before walking toward the double doors past this room.
For being ruthless you sure aren't heartless…to be an effective angel of death, one must accept both qualities…we ARE doing the right thing. This place is more evil than I…
Nothing could be more vile than you, monster.
A glimpse in the mirror would say otherwise.
She pushed open the doors harshly out of anger, the doors slamming against the walls announcing her arrival. At the other end of the room stood a man with his back facing her. She stood in the doorway, her hand itching to throw the dagger at his head. He was the main prize, the main prey. The leader of this branch of the organization. While he wasn't the mastermind, he was their loyal subject and someone she wouldn't mind killing slowly due to the fact he was one of the few who knew about her. She had caught wind of a terror organization in Japan and so she came to investigate. Upon talking to various locals in different cities, everything pointed to Niseko. She couldn't ignore that the locals told the folktale of a woman bearing mystical powers who could summon a monster for it's evil power to carry out "evil" deeds. She knew that it had to have stemmed from the leaked information that this organization poured out regularly. And now she stood neck deep in the blood of said organization with their blood to pay for their trespasses.
"Hellfire," the man grumbled out with his back still turned to her, "I'm not surprised to find you here. And you've killed every single one of the men and women working for me haven't you? We were already understaffed as it was, how troublesome."
"Well, looks like your boss has to deal with filling in some positions. After we're through speaking, your position will be up for replacing as well." She spoke out softly.
"Straight to the point it seems…" he turned around, his dark eyes piercing.
"I'm not overly fond of talking where it isn't needed. Nothing you tell me will spare your meaningless life."
"Not even how I managed to find out who you are?" He challenged, a small smirk on his face.
"There have been various tales spread about me throughout my years on Earth. I'm not interested in what a feeble stranger gathered from them." Aria refuted. Anger bubbled under her skin towards this man.
"I may be a stranger to you, but to me you are a fascination. A miracle. A woman who looks no older than twenty-four yet has graced the Earth for a century."
"I am your death. Nothing more." She began to walk forward, closing the distance between them quickly.
"It seems your uncle was right to assume that whatever it is trapped inside you would tinge your personality. Cold, ruthless, a true monster walking among us." He spoke out nonchalantly, as if speaking of the harsh winter outside.
Aria froze at the mention of her uncle. Small flashbacks began to play at the edge of her consciousness and anger bubbled in her chest. She grabbed the man by his collar and threw him on his large desk. She put an enhanced leg against him, grabbing a handful of his hair and pulling his head up to put her dagger to his neck. Hissing out, she questioned him, "How do you know about my uncle?"
He laughed a boisterous chuckle, breathing out a pained grunt as she pulled his hair and pressed the blade closer to his neck pricking his skin. "We found old notebooks and after translating…found out more about the mysterious vigilante that traveled the world. You, Aria, are magnificent."
Her hold slackened the moment he rolled out her name, before tightening even more. She growled lowly before slitting the mans throat. His limp body dropped against the desk as she let him go. All he knew was whatever the hell her uncle wrote in his journals. She was surprised to hear that someone found them, they were over a hundred years old. If this man knew about them, that must mean his higher ups knew about them. Which meant more trouble for her. She huffed out in anger before punching the wall next to her. It cracked and crumbled down but the destruction didn't make her feel any better. She didn't know what her uncle wrote in these journals but she knew it was information that these people didn't need. Especially if it mentioned anything about her companion. She stared at the mans body intently, what could he have known?
Burn this place to the ground. If there is nothing but ash, then there is nothing to learn. The voice cooed at her, beckoning to give in to the thoughts she had already begun to think of herself before it had spoke.
I'll show them true hellfire.
Aria's eyes flitted open, the blaring light jarring them back closed. She felt around her with her senses to find she was alone. Her whole body felt sore, but no pain was evident anywhere excluding the headache she had. She opened her eyes again, this time slower, before pushing herself to sit up. She reached to rub her left temple as she surveyed the area around her. Trees were all around her and upon looking up, she could see where she had crash landed. She sighed out heavily before mentally preparing to stand up. At that moment she heard a static noise coming from her jean pocket. She fumbled around before acquiring the ear piece that had been given to her by Tony, putting it to her ear to listen.
"Uh Tony speaking. For anyone listening, go to Stark tower. Loki's there with the scepter and I'm on route to get there. Knowing how slow everyone else is, I bet I'll be there first."
Aria smirked slightly at his antics before pressing the button on the side to open the line, "Tony, it's Aria. Can you figure out where I am? I kinda…well fell off the ship somehow? I don't know I just know I'm in the middle of somewhere."
"Gotcha kid. I'll find you and pick you up. Detours aren't my thing but we'll need all the help we can get."
"Is my earpiece rigged with a locator thing Stark?"
"A chip that can tell me your position yes."
"Well I guess after today I'll be throwing this thing away."
"Oh wow feelings hurt. I just like to know where my buddies are…or future people that can potentially kill me. All the same."
"Stark killing you wouldn't be on my fun or even necessary list. You might be over the top but you're a good guy."
"HA!" Tony laughed over the comms, "hear that Rogers? And you thought you were the only good guy on the team."
Aria got up laughing and dusted herself off, surprised to find no bruises or cuts. She closed her eyes and ran her energy through her whole body, slightly shocked to feel his energy still entwined with hers. There wasn't a vast amount of his influence but enough to make her energy hum through her as she regulated it through her body. She grimaced at the thought of how much he needed to lend her, considering she did free fall through the fucking air. Despite that, she must've been out for at least an hour or more judging by how low the sun was compared to before.
Why is it still like that?
I saved your life, you're welcome. Our energies are intertwined still due to the amount I needed to give to save you liked you assumed. Even if you aren't fully human, you're still so fragile. Mending bones and organs was easy but required a bit of my energy mixed into yours.
Hmph…well thanks for not letting us die. Even though I know it was mostly for your self preservation.
I actually like you vessel, compared to the others.
Others?
At that moment, the sound of Tony's suit broke the silence and her train of thought. She put up her hand but was surprised to see something shoot out of his back towards her. Attaching to her hands and shoes, she eyed the contraptions wearily.
"I can't carry you. But you can fly now so you're welcome. It's not too hard to control, I mean I do just fine," Tony called out from above.
"How do you even start these things?"
"Shake your hands three time to start and two times to end. Balance is everything wizard."
"I am not a wizard."
"Uh huh sure. Let's get going."
Aria rolled her eyes before shaking her hands three times to almost fall flat on her face. She threw her hands out to catch herself, eyes closing to brace for contact but found she was just above the ground. Opening her eyes slowly, she laughed quietly before moving her hand up. Getting straightened, she pointed her hands downward and felt herself be propelled upwards to be by Tony. She looked around awed, almost losing her balance again by looking around.
"Those don't have a long battery life. You'll know it's outta juice when they pop off. Now stop sightseeing, we got a bad guy to catch," Tony motioned with his head before flying off to his tower. Aria followed behind, slower and less graceful than the iron-clad genius.
They soared through the air quietly, minus the few gasps from her as she faltered in flying straight. Aria gave credit to Tony, he might be overly condescending and egotistical but he sure knew how to fly this thing. Yet Aria was glad for the silence since she was able to reflect over the memory she had replayed in her head. Hati wouldn't have shown her that without purpose but for what? Did he want her to realize she needed him? That they were more alike than she cared to admit? Or was the devil in the details? Or was it just him being evil and bringing up a time in her life she hated? She didn't know what was up with the being in her but she knew how she was handling it and it wasn't great. That moment in her life she didn't care who she killed, as long as the deserving died so be it with the other casualties. She had grown past that, once her anger retreated and she had to make peace with everything she had done. She still was working through making peace with her actions in fact.
Another pressing matter was Loki. He had tried to kill her. Kicked her off of the helicarrier like nothing. Now she was certain there was no redemption for him. He was evil, whether it be controlled or not. She wondered if Thor was okay, hopefully he had made it out alive. She didn't doubt it seeing he could fly around with his hammer but that glass would be hard to make it out of. Besides the point, she knew she'd probably face Loki again and this time she had to be smart. She couldn't allow for any more death. Unless it was his own of course.
They approached Stark tower quickly, her musings cut short once the tall building came into view. Considering it was hard to miss with Tony's last name "STARK" plastered on the side of it. He curved upwards and Aria followed, dropping down on the roof just as the cuff links separated and dropped to the ground. Aria narrowed her eyes at watching Dr. Selvig work manically on and around the device. A strong lull started to pulse at the back of her head, her knee's becoming slightly weak. She found out why once Dr. Selvig moved, the Tesseract glowing behind him. Her eyes zeroed in on the Tesseract and everything else faded away. It seemed as if it were taunting her, begging to be reached out to. The energy visibly pulsed around it and the beast in her mind began to gnaw at the edge of her consciousness. Aria couldn't help the step forward she took to the cube. She thought she could hear the mumble of words coming from the men around her but the humming sound drowned out everything else. It was singing out to her, asking her with it's foreign language to take it. Her skin prickled with anticipation as she took another step towards it, a strange hunger developing in her soul. She blinked rapidly and shook her head slightly, breathing becoming ragged.
This-this isn't me…these stones need to be destroyed…
Oh darling, you crave them just as much as I do. They gave me life, so they must give me a way to escape this feral prison.
Exactly…the hunger stems from you. Not me. I'm also not about to find out if these things can separate us, you need to stay locked away.
Aria gritted her teeth before summoning energy into her hand. But before she could go up to punch the machine and cube, a beam of light struck it. Or more like a shield around the cube. The force of his beam was pushed outward, knocking both her and Dr. Selvig back. Aria falling along the rooftop a lot more graciously as she flipped back on one knee. She flipped up her hair and looked towards Tony seeing him shrug his shoulders before looking back at the cube due to a weird sound coming from it. Ridiculously, Aria didn't feel the tug at her from the cube as strongly now. Maybe a hit was the way out of the trance. She noted that at the back of her head but would have to have someone knock her head whenever around these things. Who would though was a bit troubling.
"Aria stay here and figure out how to shut that off. I have to deal with something," Tony barked out before he descended down.
"Probably not your smartest idea Stark." She huffed out as she stood up m, wiping her hands on her jeans.
Kinda mad I didn't change before all this.
You were thrown off the helicarrier in your defense.
Yes I know Hati…I wonder if Tony has any more decent clothes.
She walked towards the cube slowly, her eyes strictly focused on it. What could she do? It was protecting itself. Her enhanced punches would do nothing besides throw her off the building. At least, that's probably what would happen if Tony's blast did nothing to it. She had a great sense of landing on her feet but she wasn't so sure with how high the building was. Besides that, she had no clue what any of the buttons on the computer meant. There wasn't a red button that could stop it from running. What was it going to be used for anyways?
What stone is in this one?
Space stone.
Okay….what can it do?
You really don't know anything do you?
I've learned a lot in my years on this Earth. I am 150. Learning about stones that hold powers though, wasn't on any curriculum.
It grants the power of space of course. But more so the manipulation of travel through it.
So that means he's planning to bring the army here then, right? Thor mentioned something about some alien army Loki was leading...and he wants to rule Earth...
Dear child you are slow on the draw.
Oh fuck
The cube began to shake and the noise grew louder before the cube sent a wave of energy out and a beam shot out into the sky. A portal began to open up with creatures spiraling down to the city. Aria's eyes widened in fear before she snapped her gaze down to the cube. She sent energy to her eyes and flinched back with her eyes shut tightly due to how bright the cube was with her enhanced vision. She slowly moved her hands away from her face and fluttered her eyes open. She looked with squinted eyes and was astounded at what she saw. The energy was pulsing everywhere around the cube on the rooftop as if it were alive. Aria had only seen pulsing energy like this in living things or when someone was manipulating energy or magic. This cube was definitely something else.
She heard explosions above her and saw Tony engaging with the aliens. He didn't get to every single one and there were a couple already causing mayhem on the ground. The air she couldn't help with but on the ground she could do damage. She ran to the edge of the building and jumped down, landing on a platform below. She glanced at the broken window and warily stepped forward. Looking around and finding nothing she breathed out before spreading her senses out. Nothing. Sighing and relaxing, Aria stood at full height before walking towards a room.
"I would believe that Mr. Stark can use your assistance. Alongside that, you are not cleared to be accessing any rooms on this level." Tony's A.I. spoke out calmly.
"I'm just looking for more comfortable clothes before I go help out there. Jeans aren't particularly helpful," Aria called out snottily. She detested technology and its advances. One day man would be overtaken by these A.I.'s and then what?
"The room to your left has been unlocked. Mr. Stark found it prudent to begin working on suits for the team. There should be a section specifically for you Ms. Czen."
"Oh...okay? Thank you?"
"My pleasure. I suggest you hurry."
What a weird thing to own, Aria thought absentmindedly as she walked over to the door quickly. Turning the knob, she walked into what she could assume was just a closet for a room. She looked around quickly before finding a portion of the room labeled "CZEN". Aria was both grateful and astounded that Tony would work on this. She felt like she was invading but hell, there was no way she was fighting in jeans and converse. Everything on her wall was black leather which she appreciated. Stripping and dressing quickly, she almost just walked out before her eyes stopped on some wrist wear. Upon further inspection she found that these were grappling hooks that were modified to look like little bracelets. She grabbed the 4 that were there and stuffed them into one of the many pockets she had. She found two pistols, a dagger, and a small sword. That plus her enhanced person Aria felt ready to help. She breathed out before sprinting toward the broken window and leaping out in a dive. She closed her eyes and breathed in deeply. She grabbed the dagger out from the side of her belt and brought her hands above her head. Pushing her senses out all around her, she felt the disgusting aura of the aliens coming right at her. Smirking, she began to twist herself upright before swinging her arm back. Three...two...one...NOW. Simultaneously, she swung her arm out forward and opened her eyes after surging a small bit of energy towards them along with her legs. Her dagger connected with the neck of one of the Chitauri, its scream alerting the driver of the hovercraft that Aria was there.
Too late, you're already dead.
Aria grunted softly as she retrieved the dagger from its neck before lunging forward to attack the other one. Quickly slicing through that alien's neck, she sensed a pair heading her direction from the left. She pushed the two off with swift kicks and grabbed onto what she assumed was the steering mechanism. She breathed in and out slowly, straightening out the direction of the hovercraft. Once the pair was within her vision Aria jumped off the vehicle, watching with a sick satisfaction as it crashed into the unsuspecting pair with a big explosion. Pleasure slowly crawled up her spine before slight panic. That was Hati's pleasure not her own and even without his influence she was still feeling small bits of what he was. The thought was discerning but she had greater things to worry about.
It is not just my pleasure child...His voice beckoned softly. She ignored him and continued running forward.
The familiar roar of the quinjet loomed overhead and Aria eyed it wearily. That thing was going to attract a lot of attention from their guests and while it was fast, it wasn't fast enough to keep up with the aliens' hovercrafts. She turned her attention to the screams of some civilians being cornered into some sort of shop by a group of Chitauri. She unsheathed her sword and gripped her dagger in the other arm before sprinting full speed towards the group. One noticed her approach and starting shooting at her but Aria danced between the beams. She caught up to one before dropping to her knees to avoid its attack but her momentum kept her sliding so she struck it with her sword. Half of it's body slumped to the ground and she moved to the next one. She pushed herself up into the air before landing between two of them. Sending energy into her leg she kicked the Chitauri on her right past a few totaled cars. The left one tried to grab her but was met with an enhanced uppercut. Aria followed the left one to sever its head from its body before checking on the civilians. Two more Chitauri showed up as they landed on some cars, hitting the tops and roaring. She smirked before rushing them just to be disappointed when they were easy to dispose of like their fallen brethren. Sheathing the sword, Aria took in a deep breath before walking towards the civilians. They cowered under tables and behind each other, rattled like sheep around a wolf. Aria froze in her place staring at the bewildered people who stared right back.
They fear you just like they feared the Chitauri...it matters not what we do for man will always treat us as monsters...instead of thanking you they stay hidden...my dear these people are undeserving of your mercy.
What? No I don't kill innocents! They're just scared of the invasion not of me! You're wrong.
Am I? Is that why you refuse to conform to our true identity? Why you hold back?
I hold back for my own reasons. Not for others.
Hmph.
Aria blinked rapidly before focusing on her task at hand. She opened the door and walked in, surveying the group of people. "Alright listen up! It's not safe out her for you guys and honestly, if you get in the way you can and will die. I need the braver portion of you all to go into the building down this block and get whoever you can out. Try to get underground, I think that'll be the best place to hideout for now."
"Is that really you Hellfire?" A woman spoke out shakily, eyes wide baring into Aria.
Aria looked over at the woman and gave her a calm smile, "Yes ma'am...so now you know these aliens won't stand a chance."
There was a new giddiness about the people as they got up and scurried out to where an underground train pass was. She watched over them and helped as many out. The Chitauri flooded around but Aria took care of them quickly. Before half of the people were down a squad of the Chitauri flying began shooting at the buildings randomly. Aria's eyes widened when she saw a part of a building began to tumble down towards the entrance. She pumped energy into her legs and ran as fast as she could towards them. Getting underneath where it was going to hit, she then moved energy into her whole arm before crouching down to push herself up to meet the chunk of falling building.
I hope this works otherwise these people are as good as dead Aria thought grimly, her lips pressed together tightly.
She seemed to float in the air, small bits of her hair flailing around her. The chunk of building seemed to fall so slowly. Everything seemed to slow at that moment, enough that Aria swore she could hear her own heartbeat. It's getting closer...just a tad bit more...She brought her powered arm back...No one's dying under my supervision...not today, not again...not unless I want them to... She shot her arm out to meet the debris, releasing a large amount of her energy out of her fist and into the chunk. It cracked around her fist and made a weird noise before the huge mass turned into harmless little pieces. She smirked and twisted to help aide her fall back to the ground. Sending energy into her legs to help protect them from landing, she hit the ground a little harder than expected and kneeled on one knee to help brace herself. Too much energy expelled into something always makes it implode on itself. Glad I learned that with those poor leaves.
She surveyed the civilians who were just staring at her. She didn't stare too long because she heard a large crash to her left. The quinjet was going down. A quick once-over again of the civilians, finding no one hurt, she dashed down the alley towards where she last saw it falling. She reached into her breast pocket and procured the ear-piece that Stark had given everyone and put it in. Turning it on, she winced at the feedback before hearing silence. She turned left and saw the quinjet sunk into the ground and ran faster. Relief hit her chest when she saw them get out, surprised at how much she cared for them to be okay.
It's just the nerves. I don't want death of anyone if it's possible.
Oh dear, you're so silly. Just admit your enjoyment of being a part of something.
Shut it demon.
Aria ran up to them and was surprised to see Natasha holding her daggers. She held them out to her with a small nod and Aria nodded back in thanks when she grabbed them. Aria looked at Steve and saw him staring dumbfoundedly at the Chitauri flying overhead.
"Yeah, I know. Hard to believe right?" Aria joked dryly, "They have armor covering their body so body shots are less damaging then going for the head or neck. And watch out because some of them have four arms and it can be annoying."
"Alright thanks for the heads up. Let's move to in front of the portal and keep them busy on us. Stark can you hear me?" Steve called out while pressing his earpiece on. Natasha and her partner also turned theirs on.
"Loud and clear Cap," Tony replied.
"We need a perimeter. Try not to let them get as far as 39th. I have a feeling Loki is gonna keep the fight focused on us but we can't afford stragglers." He ordered to everyone and shrugged his head in the direction of Stark tower before running over.
Aria followed and looked up to the portal. A steady stream of Chitauri poured out and a seed of hopelessness sprouted in her stomach. How would they keep a perimeter going with that many? It seemed endless. The only ones airborne were Stark and Thor, the rest of them were grounded. Not to mention they would all get exhausted and they would just keep coming in without a way to turn off that damn cube. It then began to dawn on her that she would most likely have to ask Hati for his power and a cold feeling went down her spine. To keep up she'd have to ask for more than usual, maybe even keep it streaming through. She swallowed the small lump in her throat before her eyes caught sight of red and green. Thor and Loki were fighting on the platform she had been on earlier.
Glad to see that dumbass is still alive but he probably thinks Loki can be redeemed. How annoying, still trying to see the good in him.
They reached a mid-section of a street where a group of Chitauri were mingling around a bus. From the looks of it the bus contained people and they seemed to be guarding it as if they were prisoners. Aria flipped her dagger downward as she jumped onto the car in front of her and pushed herself up and forward. Flowing through the air, she threw the first dagger towards the furthest alien. It landed between its eyes. Her second dagger was thrown to the closest one to her into its neck. She maneuvered her body to land on top of it, her feet square with the Chitauri's chest. Grabbing her dagger with a squelching sound, she put her left hand out and called to her other dagger. As she did so, she ran towards another alien and gave it an enhanced kick to the head. The head immediately flew off as her dagger found her hand. The rest of the troop was taken care of by her companions.
Okay I'll admit it's nice to have some back-up.
But they take away all the fun.
What you and I call fun is drastically different Hati.
I have noticed you have been using my name more often human. And you can't lie to me, I know what you feel at all times. You had fun earlier and just right now KILLING these things.
Aria couldn't help the disgust she felt at his words. Disgust at the fact that he wasn't wrong about any of it. The way she was able to carelessly do whatever to these things without fear of repercussion from anyone or herself made her feel free. Not like she faced any from others but the guilt she harbored with herself just wasn't there against these things. In fact, it was thrilling to her to find the different ways to kill them. And while it felt exhilarating, she also felt anxious. This freedom, this exuberance was also present the various times she's had to face against people. Live, breathing, fragile people. And while she may have guilt, the thrill was much more prevalent. Being the hunter was what she yearned for. And it disgusted Aria to her core. A shrill broke Aria out of her trance, she hadn't realized she was helping civilians out of the bus. She blinked rapidly before looking up at the portal.
Okay what the fuck is that?
