Chatus: The very nature of Hyperdrives relies on Hyperlanes, without them you can still travel but it poses a large danger of hitting a rogue planet or some other celestial object. Human forces at first would have to explore hyperlanes in order to carry the fight to many of the Turian Worlds as it starts to happen the longer the war goes on as you can see with the raid on Palaven. Many people forget that ME ships are not limited to Mass Relay travel, Mass Effect based ships can still travel without a relay it will just take a much longer amount of time due to the need to discharge electricity and refuel. Its okay that Human weapons(aka. Blasters) are more powerful than Turian weapons but you forget that soldiers are not trained to rely on their armor since there is always something that can bypass it, for that very reason soldiers use the alien concept of cover. Human armor on the other hand(Aka Phase II Clone armor) is not used to high velocity rounds that the Turians use. Even by our standards Star Wars slug throwers are behind the curve so just like Turian armor, Human armor is there to limit the damage done to your body in case you are hit.

The LAAT shook as it desended down the planet. Inside of it a group of 4 ARC troopers stood watching a hologram. "As of now you have 6 hours until Operation Torch enters its second stage. Before that happens you need to sabotage the Enemy control center if we are to avoid another Artemis III disaster,if we succeed here we will be on our way to ending the War on our terms"
"What are the Projected enemy numbers?" Asked the leader
"The colony before the War numbered just 300 thousand, due to Turian society however, almost all of those 300 thousand are trained active and ex military. As such expect anyone you see to be armed and be ready to handle the situation accordingly" answered the Officer
"What are the ROE?" asked the second in command
"The General staff has given you a blank cheque. If it is in your way, kill it. The task needs to be accomplished above everything else"
"Orders for when the main force arrives?" asked the 3rd member
"You are being handed over to General Skywalker at that point and will help in capturing areas of high Importance"
"Anything else the brass wants?" asked the last member
"The General staff asked nicely for this to be done as quietly as possible until the main objective is accomplished, we don't want to Birds to go on full alert before the Navy arrives"
"We will get it done" replied the leader
"We all hope so Specter Squad, until the Fleet arrives a complete Radio silence between you and Command is in effect"
The Hologram disappeared leaving the squad alone to themselves "A bag of fun isn't he" asked Specter 3.
"Let him be Leng, knowing the stuff we do in Black Ops isn't easy on a man, especially one that has to coordinate it all" replied Specter 4
"Cut the chatter you two, check your equipment before it blows in your face again" said Specter 2
"That happened only once and you know it!" yelled Specter 4
"Arent you married Ryder? Why are you flirting with the Commanders Girl?" jokingly asked Specter 3 causing Specter 4 to turn to him
Even wearing a Helmet he knew that she was glaring at him while Specter 2 laughed a bit. "Are you done? We are about to land" said Specter 1 as he grabbed a hold of the handles hanging from the ceiling.
"Ready as we will ever be Commander" replied Specter 3 just as the side doors opened and the LAAT hovered over the ground for a second allowing all 4 of them to jump out before making its way back into orbit where the Stealthship was parked.
The group of 4 commandos slowly and carefully advanced through forest they were dropped in. Approaching the end of the forest Specter 2 climbed one of the trees to get a hold of their objective. "You see anything up there 2?" asked Specter 1
"Negative, the darkness, rain and the buildings themselves are obscuring our target" responded 2 and as if to emphasize the point lightning struck in the air for the brief moment illuminating the area. "If we got to one of the higher buildings I might see something but without that we are stuck with whatever intel we got handed during the briefing"
Thinking for a moment Specter 1 spoke "Alright, we will move to the closest building. Use of Jetpacks is authorized" he said as he took off into the air followed by the others.
Landing on the roof Specter 2 used his binoculars again "I always hated those deathtraps"
"Oh shut up, do you see anything?" asked Specter 4
"Yeh, yeh, don't talk about the jetpacks I got it" He scanned the area for a bit "I see the outline of the Command Center, 1.5 klicks north north east from here. I can see some patrols on the streets and the outline of something that resembles a watchtower. Doing this on foot will be hard commander"
"We wont be doing this on foot, we will drop at the Command Center via jetpack and proceed from there" he said taking off
Specter 2 looked at him for a moment before flying into the air aswell "Oh lovely" the group of 4 made their way to where the command center was and landed on the roof of it.
Making sure that the roof was clear of hostiles Specter 1 turned to 3 "How long do you need?"
Specter 3 turned to look at his target and after a moment said "3 minutes, 5 tops" he said as he grabbed explosives from everyone. Walking up to the Communications array he started planting the explosives around it and connected them to his Detonator. After 4 minutes he climbed down the array and said "Done" as Specter 1 nodded and they moved to the maintenance hatch on the roof.
Cutting it open with a plasma torch Specter 1 checked the inside before dropping in weapons raised and waiting for the others to drop in. Once inside he turned to them "Alright you know what you need to do, move out" he said and they split into 2 groups with Specter 1 and 4 being in one while 2 and 3 were in another.
Andia Natadros was walking down the hallway to her sons room. Ever since the blasted war began they had to live in the Planetary command center. She loved her husband but at times like these his position as the Planets Primarch was getting on her nerves. Nevertheless she had to check on her son when the wet nurse called her saying she cant get him to stop crying.
Opening the door she found the room to be dark, her son crying and something deep inside was telling her not to go inside, this was her son it was about so she ignored the feeling and stepped inside the doors closed behind her. Lighting illuminated the room for a moment and her eyes gazed upon hell. There were signs of slight struggle, the wet nurse lay on the floor dead and a darkly dressed Soldier was holding her baby with a gun to his head.
"Not a sound" he said and to her horror he spoke in the human language, her translator managing to pick it up.
"W- What do you want human?" she asked
"Your Husband, call him here" he answered
She hesitated for a moment only for the soldier to press the gun against her sons head and for him to cry louder. "she opened her omni-tool and called her husband telling him to come to the room.
As she finished talking out of the darkness another Human came out holding a chair "Sit down"
She slowly approached and sat down in the chair and had her son given to her who she immediately hugged. As she tried to sit on the chair so it would be comfortable for her baby she felt cold metal against the back of her head. "When he comes in, not a single word about us, make him enter the room. Nod if you understand" she slowly nodded "Good" she heard.
A few minutes later her Husband, Marlus Natadros, opened the door "What is it Andia?"
"Come in, I want to show you something" she answered, Marlus noticed something in her voice, panic
Quickening his pace he entered the room, the doors closing behind him. "Is Decilius alright?" he asked with worry
"The child is alright, for how long depends on you" said a unknown voice
"Who-" Marlus didn't get to finish as the lightning answered it for him. For a brief moment illuminating the room showing a armored figure pointing its pistol at his wife and child.
"Human, I should have known your barbaric species would go as far as this" he spat out
The soldier pushing his pistol further against Andia's head earning a yelp from her "I recommend watching your tongue unless you want to lose everything important"
"What do you want Human" he asked.
"Your access codes, what are they?" asked the Human.
"Your planning on invading aren't you, Human? You need those to disable the defenses. If you think I will betray my people you are sorely mistaken Human" he answered
"Wrong answer Bird" said the human as he ripped the child from Andia's arms and walking to the open window. Marlus wanted to stop him but a second human aimed his pistol at Andia stopping him from moving.
Holding the crying child by its left arm the soldier held it outside of the window and looked at both Andia and Marlus "Turian children are more resilient than Human ones, if my guess is correct a drop from this height will not kill it but severely handicap it for life. Lets say that during an invasion vital medication would be diverted to the fighting soldiers forcing civilians to wait until the invasion is over"
"Lets not forget Humanity has no Turian medication and during war trade will not be arranged for a single child. As a primarch you also have very little time don't you? A handicapped child requires a lot of help, help requires time. Time you wont have as a Primarch with your wife dead. That is if you even keep your position after the news comes out that a Human Black Ops team managed to sneak unto your planet. Without that hefty salary taking care of your son will become that much harder.
"So I ask again Primarch, this time you have 10 seconds and there will be no third chance"
"Ten" he started the countdown. Andia looked at the human then at her husband and then at the human again.
"Nine"
"Eight" Marlus closed his eyes lowering his head
"Seven"

"Five"
"Marlus give them the damn codes!" yelled Andia crying
"Four"

"2197-487, Passcode is To the Stars we might see one Day"
"You heard that 1?" Asked the Human as he took the child back inside and handed it to the crying mother.
"Yeh, we heard it, good work" responded the Human on the other side
Reaching behind the human brough out something and threw it to Marlus who recognized them as cuffs "Put them on" Marlus did as told and was finally allowed to approach his wife and son.
Looking at his gauntlet the Human spoke to the other one "30 minutes" this caused the other Human to start checking his gear.
After 30 minutes a small explosion rocked the building and shortly thereafter the siren was activated. "That's our sign" said one human "Stand up and move to the door" he ordered them and they did. The door opened showing 2 more figures dressed the same way waiting already.
"I see the package is secure" said a Feminine voice
"Took a bit of persuasion, how about yours" asked the human
"We got a mountain of information, the 5th Fleet is already in system. All is going according to plan so far"
"That's why we are moving out right now" said the other human. "Specter Squad, move out"
