2239 March 15th, Parnitha System, Thessia
"What about the damage they did to our cruiser? We have to take action or we will be seen as weak"
"And risk entering the War? Absolutely not!"
"There has to be a way to resolve this without bloodshed"
"Without bloodshed?! Since they started doing this we have lost 18 Freighters, each of them had 20 Asari onboard. They damaged further 31 to the point that some aren't even fit for scrap. Their little squabble with the goddess forsaken Turians is causing a economic depression not seen since the Krogan Rebellion! If this continues we will see our influence diminish!"
"What do you all think will happen if we declare war? These Humans have shown to be more than a fair match against the Turians, they fight without mercy ever since their colony was destroyed from orbit by the retreating Turians. Both of them are turning into animals, should be decide to join then the humans will be thrusted even further into the Batarian hands or worse will act like a cornered animal and any chance we have left at a resolution to this war that doesn't end in the destruction of one side will be gone. We have to make sure that a peace treaty can be signed between them or we are looking at a very possible threat of the Council being disbanded and our Influence being destroyed."
"So what do you propose Benezia?"
"Tell the Turian to guard their own imports using their own freighters, press on Tevos to force the Turians to the negotiating table and make sure the Humans sign it. That is the best we can do"
"So be it"
[1] This has real world precedence, During WW1 and WW2 certain food names were changed from German to sound more "American" one of which is still used to this day and that being the Hot Dog.
[2] The Battle of the Stars refers to the 2nd Battle of Atlantis and the Liberation of Atlantis in which during the Liberation of Atlantis 25 Stars of Tera were earned by various Soldiers. This marked a particularly special ceremony to be held as at that point in time only 6 Stars of Tera were earned during the War. The Ceremony was televised across Alliance Space.
