But they have a war to fight and staying in a single place without advancing will not end well for them because of that Alliance Fleets are stretched across Alliance space and on the front since that's where majority of the Forces are located.

April 3rd: The First Mandator-class Dreadnought keel is laid down at the Mars Shipyards. The Construction of the 30th Fleet Begins.
April 20th: The Elite 1st Legion is moved off earth and headed towards the frontlines.
May 16th: The first ever month with a lull in fighting begins between the Turians and Humans as since the 15th of April no Battle between large forces happened. Many on the Citadel see this as hope that peace is on the horizon.
May 29th: The Turian Hierarchy officially states that it will no longer abide by the Farixen treaty as it is proving detrimental to its war effort and it can no longer afford to limit itself in such a way.
June 1st: Turian Navy commissions 3 new Carriers and places orders for additional 5 alongside orders for 3 new Dreadnoughts
June 12th: The Alliance launches the "Summer" Offensive, 6 Fleets and 12 Legions head for the last remaining outer Territorial Holdings of the Turians remaining east of the Citadel, 18 Systems and 3 Planets are to be captured.
June 17th: The Turian Navy learns of the Human objectives and moves to defend its holdings.
August 7th: Jane Shepard is Born
September 3rd: The "Summer" Offensive ends in a success. The Turian East is captured and the Turian inner colonies are ahead.
October 1st: Planning of Operation "Gambit" begins.
November 3rd: Turian forces fortify its inner colonies, asteroids and space junk are pulled into strategic locations in order to serve as natural defences. Martial Law is declared on all planets on the frontline. Strict flight routes are put in place. The Asari population of these planets are growing restless.
December 12th: A Ceasefire is signed for a duration of 2 months at the request and growing pressure of the Asari Republics and Peace talks are held.

January 4th: The Peace talks begin.
January 29th: The Treaty is almost complete but this time the amount of Reparations the Turian Hierarchy should pay are the breaking point of the Peace Talks since Humanity dropped its Dealbreaker that was the Removal of the Turians from the Citadel Council only if Humanity would be exempt from following any Citadel Law.
February 11th: The Asari Republics stop trying to convince either side of re-negotiating the Treaty as neither side wants to listen as they are preparing for the Renewal of hostilities again.
February 12th: As the ceasefire ends the Turian Military begins its counterattack into the Turian East.
March 5th: The Counteroffensive is stopped by Human forces. The turians however managed to recapture 6 systems and 1 colony.
April 2nd: The immobilizer-418 project receives astronomical funding from the Alliance and is marked as a Highest Priority.
May 1st: Illium is sacked by the largest to date Terminus Raid in history. Over 600 Pirate and Slaver ships from all across the Terminus systems participated in the raid. The credits and other valuables stolen are estimated to be as much as 13 Trillion Credits.
June 4th: Planners for Operation "Gambit" receive confirmation from Alliance Intelligence that 4 of its SpecOps teams will participate in the Operation.
June 18th: The Alliance 2nd Fleet skirmishes with the Turian 2nd Fleet near the Salarian Border scaring the Slarian border Patrols.
August 5th: Testing begins on the feasibility of using Escape pods to deliver soldiers to the frontlines quickly.
September 12th: The First Immobilizer-418 prototype is build and testing begins.
October 22nd: Alliance Intelligence cracks down on an STG listening base on Artemis III. All STG members are captured, regrettably their equipment was destroyed.
November 6th: The Alliance Starts a massive fortification project at Artemis III
December 23rd: Alliance forces pull out of the Turian East. They halt at the Relay Hub in the Dark Centaur System.

January 2nd: The Lack of Alliance Patrols is noticed by the Turian Patrols and the Turian Navy is notified of this.
January 5th: The lack of Alliance presence in the Turian East is confirmed. Ships and soldiers are send to recapture the territory.
February 3rd: The Skirmish of Dark Centaur happens as a Turian Patrol craft enters the system finding the 4th, 5th, 8th and 9th Fleet guarding it. The Vessel is destroyed in a short Skirmish.
February 8th: Alliance HIGHCOM allows the deployment of the 1st Fleet as part of Operation "Gambit"
March 30th: The X01-Droid Fighter Prototype is adopted into service as the DSF-621, nicknamed the Vulture Droid.
April 5th: The Plastoid Armor Mk.3 Prototypes are submitted for Military review.
May 9th: A Plastoid Armor Mk.3 Prototype is chosen for further development. 3 New Droids are adopted into Service with the Alliance Military. The B-2 Supper Battle Droid as a direct Upgrade to the B-1. The B-3 "Commando" Battle Droid for Alliance Special Forces and the B-4 "Droideka" Destroyer Battle Droid.
June 24th: The Immobilizer-418 project finishes its research and submits its findings to the Alliance. 12 Immobilizer-class Star Cruisers are ordered and begin construction.
July 15th: The 30th Fleet Enters service and heads for the Staging ground of Operation "Gambit"
August 1st: Turian 2nd, 5th, 8th, 13th and 19th Fleet jump into the Dark Centaur system as part of Operation "Sagittarius" only to find the system empty of all Alliance forces
August 5th: Alliance forces have retreated up to the Anos Basin Defensive Line used during the Highpoint of the War.
August 10th: Turian Military command is perplexed why an enemy that fought tooth and nail for each planet just 2 years prior is now willingly giving back its conquered territory.
August 15th: Security is raised on all Turian Worlds following the Alliance retreat back to the Anos Basin. The Primarchs conduct a meeting to discuss this development.
September 9th: SSV Mandator enters service with the 1st fleet. The first Immobilizer-class Cruiser is complete and enters service.
October 10th: Alliance forces pull out of the Anos Basin Defenseive Line and retreat up to the Colony turned fortress world of Artemis III. The 16th Fleet is assigned to Artemis III to protect it alongside the 20th Fleet, 4 Golan III Stations, 10 Golan II, 20 Golan I and 500 thousand soldiers as well as planetary Heavy Turbolaser Batteries and a set of 100 Ground-Space Ion Cannons.
October 15th: The Turian Military returns to the Turian frontier for the first time since the start of the war only to find it mostly empty, only the major worlds in the sector remaining inhabited. This move by the Alliance greaty worries the Turians and the rest of the Galaxy as it is a clear sign that something great is in the works. Debate begins on the citadel by various experts arguing about the cause for this string of retreats, while others argue that now is as good time as any to reopen peace talks.
November 1st: The deadline is set. Opereration Gambit will begin on the 1st of January 2242
November 30th: 200 ARC are deployed on Palaven via stealth ships.
December 1st: Alliance Military issues a shore leave to all Military personel that is to participate in operation "Gambit". The Shore leave ends on the 25th of December.

So I have been wondering how fast Hyperspace really is for the different Hyperdrives and to my surprise I found only 2 mentions of speed, all of them on forums.
One claimed that the Millenium Falcon travels at 625 light years/per hour that's 15 000 LY/day using Earth Hours. The Other Claimed that the Imperial II Class travelled at 20 000 LY/day. Since there is no clear answer that I could find I am making the executive Decision to set them myself for this story
