A/N: I know I made some spelling or word mistakes in the previous chapters! And I honestly don't know if this chapter is the same or not! "Is there anything wrong, aunt Suki?!"
Hearing Ranma's concern-filled tone, Suki looked up at him with a troubled face and suddenly, her phone stopped ringing. But before she could give any reply to him, her phone started ringing again. She sighed tiredly as she whispered to him,
"Don't worry, Ranma.. It's just a phone call.."
Saying that, she turned from him and received the call.
Ranma could tell that something is not right with Suki! He could read her aura and he could tell her discomfort. He started pretending making the drinks again as he concentrated to hear what Suki was saying over the phone,
"Hello.. Oh my goodness, Mrs Ema, how are you?... Yes, we are fine, thank you! … What! Oh! You are here already! That's a pleasant surprise, I must say!... What! You want to meet me? Now!?...But… No, what I mean is, we are having a family dinner party tonight, so, can I see you tomorrow?... You want to see me now?!... It's urgent?!... Oh, okay!... I am on my way then… Yes, I am coming….."
Suki sighs as she puts the cell phone back on her pocket.. She looked so depressed and a little nervous as well.. She slowly looked up at Ranma, who also turned to look at her with worry written over his face. Suki tried to give him an encouraging smile as she said,
"Don't worry, Ranma.. It's just Josh's mother. She just wants to meet me, that's all.."
"So ya are going? Then what about the party, then?" He asked her in a low tone.
"I don't have any other choice, honey.. But don't worry, I will try to make the meeting short…" She grimly smiled at him and without saying anything anymore, she left to inform her daughters about her sudden plan…
Her aura was telling that something is definitely wrong.. Ranma could tell that with his eyes closed! He could sense her discomfort as well.. He scrunched his brows as he deeply began to think about the situation. That guy's grandmother and her sudden urgent call to Suki, is definitely indicating something suspicious.. And not to mention, just yesterday they managed to piss off Taichi as well..
'So.. Does that mean!? Oh damn!'
Ranma thought to himself as he heard some protests coming from the other room.. Then he heard Suki convincing all of them to calm down.. He heard her as she assured them that she would return soon. And after that… She left….. Ranma balled his hands tightly and without double thinking about his action, he used his Umi-Sen ken technique… His aura gone, he silently left the place to follow Suki on her way to Taichi's house..
Suki sighs tiredly as she quickly walks towards Josh's room.. She is kind of feeling irritated to go there! She just wanted to spend some quality time with her family! And she asked Josh not to call her for anything! But, he didn't listen to her request and now her mother wants her! This is becoming so difficult for her to handle them.. She sighed annoyingly as she thought to herself,
'Calm down, Suki! Just go there, have a nice talk and ESCAPE as soon as you can! Yeah! That's it! I won't panic! I have to be strong!'
Her train of thoughts stopped as she finally reached his room. She took a deep calming breath as she hesitantly knocked over the door… She paused for some moments and within some seconds, the door opened, revealing a tense-looking Josh.. He gave a big sigh of relief and welcomed her with a present smile,
"I am so glad that you are here, Suki! Please come on in!"
"But why did Mrs Ema want to see me now, Josh?! She could have waited until tomorrow!" She harshly whispers to him.
"Please Suki.. You know her well enough! Now please come quick!" Josh said in a haste as he grabbed her hand and pulled her in.
Suki gives him an annoyed look as she sighs angrily and goes to the other room, where he said Ema is waiting for her. As soon as she entered the room, she was surprised to see the devastating scene in front of her. She carefully stood on a safe place and asked in soft concerned tone,
"Oh my! What happened here! Mrs Ema, are you alright?!"
The old woman was sitting on a rocking chair, her hand supporting her temple, looking utterly exhausted and troubled. When she heard Suki's concern-filled tone, she lifted her head up to look at her as suddenly her sour mood changed and she gave her a pleasant smile. She hastily stood up and went in front of her. Laying her warm palm over Suki's cheek, she said in a gentle tone,
"Suki.. My child… thanks for listening to me…"
Suki was surprised to see her reaction as she dumbfoundedly nodded at her and said,
"You know very well, Mrs Ema.. I can never disobey you.."
Ema nodded and released a big sigh of relief. She smiled at her and puts her hands over her shoulder.
"So tell me ,Suki.. How is the preparation going for the upcoming wedding?"
"Oh! It's the day after tomorrow, so I guess Josh's team has taken care of everything already?"
Suki turned to look at a frantic-looking Josh, who when questioned by her, nodded his head hard to indicate that everything had been taken care of. She smiled and shook her head at his friend's annoying behavior..
"Oh! That's right! It's in our hands to arrange everything! And when it's our responsibility, you know how sincerely we take care of those things.."
"Yes I know.. How can I question that after what you guys have done for me.." Suki said, slightly bowing her head in gratitude.
"You are a good child, Suki. I am so proud of you for accomplishing everything so successfully..!"
"I couldn't have done it without you.."
"So you have it in your mind then?"
Suki looked up at her surprised, "What do you mean by that, Mrs Ema?"
Ema shook her head and asked her instead,
"Did you give your daughters their mother's last reminder?"
Suki got little emotional hearing that as she replied in a soft tone,
"I can't tell you how happy they were, Mrs Ema! It's their mother's jewelry after all.. It's all they have to remember her.. And if it's not for you then, I wouldn't even think of doing this for my kids.. I owe you big time for this.."
"Don't say like that.. It's just a jewelry anyway! A valuable elegance, must say! However, I didn't know that you have more precious beauty hidden from us.."
Suki was shocked to hear that,
"I don't understand? I will never hide anything from you, Mrs Ema!"
"But you did, honey! And that's really shameful!"
Suki just gave her a confused look as no word came from her mouth. Ema smiled at her and said ,
"I am talking about your daughter, silly.. Your younger one.."
"Akane?" Suki whispers..
Ema smiled, "That's right, dear.. Your precious little daughter, Akane.."
Suki shook her head and said,
"But.. I don't understand! I always talked about my daughters! I never hide anything from you guys!"
"You are right! It's our fault that we never tried to see how they look or to meet them in person.."
Suki tried to act normal as she said,
"Oh! It's fine, Mrs Ema! You can meet them at the wedding day!"
"Wedding day? Why not tomorrow?"
"Because Kasumi won't go out tomorrow and her sisters won't leave her alone!"
"Oh! Then bring them now!" Ema orders plainly.
"Huh! Now! But.. I am sorry , Mrs Ema, my daughters and Saotomes are having a house party tonight! How can I?"
"YOU have to decide what is MORE important, Suki!" Ema said in a tightly controlled tone as she let go of her shoulder.
Suki took a shaky breath as she began to sweat hard. Balling her hand tightly, she gave an angry look to Josh, then turning to Ema she asked in a gentle tone,
"Please come clear to me, Mrs Ema!"
Ema smirked and said,
"That's what I like about you, child. You are straightforward! So, I think I should be too! Anyway, I have some great news to break to you. My grandson has chosen your younger daughter to be his life partner! Your daughter is such a lucky girl, must say.."
Suki felt her anger growing up, but she tried to control her anger as she said,
"I am sorry, Mrs Ema! My younger daughter Akane is already engaged with Ranma Saotome! And I have cleared it to Taichi as well! Isn't it, Taichi?"
"How could you compare me with that.. that.. cheap.." Taichi roared angrily as she came beside his grandmother, but stopped when his grandmother had grabbed his hand tightly.
"Excuse me, Taichi! He is a family! So please..." Suki protested as she gave him a heated look..
"Where is your manners, Taichi? Say sorry, to Suki.." Ema said, giving Taichi a disappointed look.
"But…"
"Now.."
He sighs angrily and mumbled his sorry to her,
Ema laughed and tried to make everything calm for them,
"Oh young people in love! How foolish they act sometimes!"
Suki growled inwardly as she replied,
"I am sorry, Mrs Ema! My daughters mean everything to me and I never force any decision on them.. There decision is final for me! That's why I cant tell Akane to marry someone who she barely knows! It's all her decision to make!"
"AFTER ALL WHAT I DID FOR YOU, SUKI! I still can't believe that you are talking this way.! After all that hardship you had to go through! You are choosing the same path for your daughters as well! Marrying my grandson could change her destiny! Hardship is the last thing she would face in the future if she comes to my family! But you are not letting that happen! Why? Because you think your daughter can choose as she wants to? Like, her mother choosed to be with your ungrateful brother and ended up taking on the burden of an eight-year-old sister and three small children! Do you want the same fate for your daughter as well! No..wait a minute! They are not your real daughters! They are just your burden, nothing else.. I thought you were a sensible woman, Suki, but now I think you are just like your brother, who is just unloading her burdens. I know, and I feel pity for those poor Childs now.. Because if their REAL mother was alive now, she would have taken the wise decision for her daughters. She wouldn't be as careless as you are.."
Every word of Ema pinched as a niddle on Suki's heart. She closed her eyes to control her emotions as she began to take slow breaths to control herself..
"Mother, please! You know Suki is not like that.."
Josh couldn't continue as he saw Suki holding her hand up to indicate him to stop. She looked at Ema with her hard eyes as she said,
"I am really sorry, I can't help you with anything.."
"You have to, Suki.. You have no other choice left... Because of your daughter's upcoming wedding and not only that, your five years long hard work is on the line as well!"
"Pardon?!" Suki whispers softly.
Ema smirked at her and said,
"Congrats Suki, the project you have been working on for the last five years, your dream project, is just a sign away!"
Suki lost all her wording as she helplessly looked at Ema's direction. Ema sighs as she said,
"Look, I am sorry that I got carried way and said some harsh words to you, honey. You know how my family loves you and only wants good for you.. Just.. Just give us some time, Suki! Let's have dinner together tonight and let me convince Akane and her sisters of all the possibilities. If they can't compare now, how can they understand? There is a say right, think before you leap! That's what I want, honey! At least, let me explain the scenario to them.. I am sure they are going to understand…"
Suki looked down and said in a low tone,
"I will let them know, but i cant promise you anything.."
Saying that, she turned to leave and stopped when Ema called her to stop..
"Remember Suki, only Tendos are welcomed! I will wait for your call.."
Suki nodded slightly and excited the room with a foul mood. She soon returned to their room and entered slowly. She became surprised to find Tofu and Akio sitting there with them, enjoying and laughing. She looked at them with a hunted look as she heard them asking her various questions. Suki couldn't suppress her emotions anymore, she sniffed and broke down into sobbing. Her daughters came running to her and made her sit and drink some water. Then when she calmed down, she told them everything that happened with Ema and her…**
"HOW DARE SHE TALK TO YOU LIKE THIS, SUKI!"
Akio gave a stunned stare to his soon-to-be sister-in-law as he first time heard her screaming like this..
"Wow! You can scream, onichan!?" He absentmindedly whispers in disbelief.
"Akio! It's not the time!" Tofu said clearing his throat, looking as surprised as Akio.
Kasumi closed her eyes to control her anger, as she said,
"Look, that's not fair! Is she trying to blackmail us! Suki, listen, me and Dr Tofu won't mind going to court to get married! But this, we won't accept!"
" I agree with her, Suki.." Tofu said, giving Kasumi an assuring smile.
"NO WAY! We can't stop our celebration because of some crazy old woman whining like a baby! THIS WEDDING WON'T STOP!" Nabiki said angrily..
Nodoka hesitated at first but said,
"I think you guys should go and have dinner with them?"
"Nodoka, do you even understand what you are saying?" Suki asked as she turned to look at her.
"But there is no other choice left!" Nodoka said helplessly..
"We CAN'T let them take ADVANTAGE of our situations, Obasama!" Kasumi said tightly..
Soon an argument started amongst them as everyone began to make their own points. This whole time, Akane kept silent as she still couldn't digest what unfortunate event they had to face. She silently stood up and went to her room and closed the door. She sat over her bed and suddenly her eyes filled with tears. The events of her shattered wedding came to vision.. The same image with Kasumi wearing the grown this time came to her mind. She grabbed the sheets tightly as she tightly closed her eyes. She gritted her teeth and said in a furious whisper,
"For Kami's sake! Leave us alone! We want to live normally! Stop ruining our happiness! Damn damn damn! How many times we have to face this types of stupidity! Why us all the time! Cant they just leave us alone! It's all his fault! That dummy! If he... If he,... That Baka Baka Baka!"
"Are ya talkin' 'bout me?"
Akane almost shrieked in fear, but suppressed herself when she recognized the voice. She instantly laid her hand over her wildly beating heart as she looked up at Ranma, who was standing in front of her, annoyingly laughing at her face. She growled furiously and said heatedly,
"What the! HEY!"
Ranma instantly went to her and laid a finger over her mouth as he whispered silently,
"Do ya want them to know that I am here, tomboy?"
She growled again and smacked his hand from her lips. She grabbed his collar and pulled him closer to her face, then said in harsh whisper tone,
" Yes, It's all your fault, Baka! And how dare you laugh at me!"
Ranma smirked at her and whispered back,
"I was laughing at you frantic look, dummy! And anyway, how is it my fault, huh?"
"Because, It's only because of you that I had to go on that date with that.. that guy!" She let go of his collar with a disgusted sigh as she avoided looking at him.
Ranma sighs and said,
"Look, we can argue about that later! We don't have much time left, Kane.."
Akane blinked her eyes in confusion as she asked him in a low tone,
"What do mean, Ranma?"
Ranma stood up and gave her a sad look, then he said,
" I used my umi- sen- ken technique!"
Akane's eyes went wide with realization as she asked him,
"You followed my mother? That's why you were missing!"
"I had to, Kane.. Because she looked so troubled at that time! And after what I heard, I am thanking Kami for what I did…"
"You heard all of it?"
"More than I wish to, Kane! Trust me, I had to focus really hard so as not to jump in the middle of their conversation.."
"Was it.. Was it that bad, Ranma?" Akane asked with a shaky tone.
He nodded his head and whispered in a low painful tone,
"It's not your mother's fault, Akane.. She is just the victim here.."
Akane looked down, feeling devastated.. She was contemplating the options that could help them out from the situation as she heard him saying to her urgently,
"Let's go, Kane.."
Akane looked up at him with stunned eyes as she asked him in a surprise-filled tone,
"Go with you? Now? But where? How? But why?!"
"Don't ya trust me, Kane?"
Ranma whispers in a low unsure tone as he offers his hand out towards her. Hope was pouring through his eyes as he looked at her with doubt in his blue ocean eyes.
Akane was pulled back from her worried stance when she heard what Ranma had asked her so suddenly.. He sounded so unsure and kind of nervous as well!
'But why? He shouldn't be!'
She thought to herself as she looked at his anxious filled eyes... She warmly smiled up at him as her eyes fell into his offering hand. She blushed slightly as without any hesitation, she took his offering hand and interlocked her hand with his.. She heard him giving a heavy sigh of relief, which made her giggle softly. She stands up from her sitting position as Ranma slightly pulled her towards him. Akane wasn't expecting the pull, she fell forward as Ranma caught her in his open arms.
Their heart was beating hard as she slowly looked up to face him. His eyes were warm, his cheeks red, heart beating fast as he held her tightly to him. Akane gives him an elegant smile as she whispers in a low tone,
"I trust you with my eyes closed, Ranma..."
Ranma smiled at her and said,
"We have to escape this place for now.."
"But! But what if aunt Suki gets upset about it!?"
"Trust me, Kane! This is the only way ya can give relief to your mother.. There is no other choice.."
Akane took a shaky breath as she asked him in an unsure tone,
"But how can we escape, Ranma! I don't know how to use that technique! Only you do!"
Ranma chuckled at her and winked at her.
"What windows are for then?"
Akane gave him a horrifying look and turned to look at her open window.. A sly smile came to her face as she giggled while turning to face him. She shook her head and without saying anything, she tightly circled her arms around his neck.
He gave her a satisfied grin as he pulled her securely towards him…..****
"Stop arguing guys! It's not taking us to nowhere!" Akio said tiredly.
Nabiki stood up and declared .
" I should go and talk to Akane.. We have to know what she wants.."
Suki sighs defeated as she looked down at her balled hands as she said,
" I wish, instead of having a house party, I have sent Ranma and Akane on a date.. Then I could have make a good excuse.."
Nabiki shook her head and went towards Akane's room. She knocked on her door for several times,
"Look Akane, I am tired of knocking, I am entering anyway!"
Saying that she opened the door and became shocked to find the room empty and the window widely opened..
"That's odd! I swear I saw her coming to her room! Where is.."
A small white paper on the dressing table caught her attention… She quickly went to grab it and immediately recognized the handwriting..
"Don't worry.. I will bring her back safely!"
Nabiki smirked as she safely tucked the note inside her pocket. She went to the other room to break the news to her aunt. When Suki saw her returning, she asked her in a concerned tone,
"Nabiki! What happened? What did she say? Is she still angry with me?"
Nabiki smirked and said in a silly tone,
"Your wish kind of came true, aunt..! The princess has already been kidnapped by her prince"..
"WHAT! Akane has been kidnapped AGAIN!" Nodoka shouted in panic.
"Oh my! We need to tell Ranma about it! Where is he!" Kasumi said , ready to cry...
Suki couldn't take the pressure anymore.. She laid her palm over her beating heart as she whispers in a panicked tone,
"Kidnapped! My daughter!... Oh Kami... my Akane.." and she fainted..
"Oh no! SUKI! NABIKI! Why did you say it like that!" Tofu said in a panicked tone as he and Nodoka began to tend Suki..
"Oopsie! I didn't mean ta! Sorry… But our Ranma did take our baby sister!"
"Oh my! You mean to say, Ranma took her with him! Then we don't have to worry about anything!" Kasumi said , giving a sigh of relief.
"Oh my manly son!" Nodoka whispers proudly..
"Ohh Okayyyy! But, we were all present here! How they managed to escape?" Akio asked dumbfoundedly.
"Duh! How else! By the window, of course!" Nabiki said as if it is a matter of fact.
Suki was coming back from her unconsciousness, when Nabiki declared that. She whined slowly and dropped her head back to the sofa as she whispered frantically..
"From the window.?!. Akane.. Where is she?."
"Nabiki! Please keep your mouth shut!" Kasumi said, feeling annoyed..
"Oh dear! Please don't worry,Suki! My son is the man amongst men! Akane is in the safe hand.." Nodoka said warmly as she rubbed Suki's back for comfort.
"Oh Kami! Help me!" Suki whispers as she closed her eyes in complete exhaustion.
Then after some moment of silence, they heard as Nabiki asked them in a calm tone,
"So, now who's gonna call that hysterical family and break them this great news?!"
They all turned to look at her at the same time, making her nervous for the first time..
"What!? Why are you guys looking at me like this!?"***
