LMJ Rewrite
Guess who's back? :D It me!
I know this chapter may be shorter than the others, but I hope you still like it. (I recommend reading the first half while listening to Foggy Night in London Town)
With that, enjoy the chapter, and don't forget to review! :)
Interlude: The Dream
All around her, from the buildings to the sky, was a thick coat of fog. She could barely see the cobblestone street in front of her. She felt so small in comparison to her surroundings.
And yet, she wasn't alone.
"Daddy?" She called out to the figure a hundred yards from where she stood.
The figure said nothing, only giving a faint smile, and tipped his top hat to her before walking away.
"Where are you going?!" She shouted, as she tried to run after him. "Daddy!"
But no matter how hard she ran, she couldn't seem to catch up to him.
"Daddy!"
Soon, he disappeared into the fog.
"Daddy!"
She stopped running, stunned.
Why did he walk away? Why can't I reach him? Why did he disappear?
Where is Daddy now?
Katrielle awoke with a start, her vision blurred from tears.
That dream again. It had become more recurring as of late, she noticed.
Was it because she had decided to follow through with her personal mission in finding her missing father? Or out of fearing the outcome she had dreaded for so long that she was better off not knowing what happened?
She didn't know.
Kat shook her head to get the unwanted thoughts out, as she got up out of bed to get her day started.
And yet, she couldn't shake these feelings away. She knew she had to face it head on. She knew it was time, as she searched for a certain contact's number on her phone, all the while on the fence as to whether she wanted her call answered.
"Good morning." She greeted the person on the other end of the line. "I know it's early, but there's something I want to discuss. I want to investigate Dad's disappearance."
She paused while she listened.
"I am well aware of that possibility." Kat stoically replied. "But whatever the outcome, I am ready to face it, even if you disagree. But what you know more about what happened than I do. That's why I need your help."
She paused again.
"Four o'clock works for me." Kat answered, a small smile finding its way on her face. "I'll see you then!"
