Narrator's/Third Person's P.O.V.
Butterfly entered Butch's room, briefly scanning the room before she even dare to come in. After that guy's comments about her a while ago, she was debating whether or not she'd just hide in the other room or just sleep somewhere else. Fortunately for her, he wasn't there.
She stepped inside, fixing her clothes before closing the door behind her. Looking around, she was a bit taken aback. This room wasn't what she expected at all.
It was clean, the dark green walls left plain with little to no paintings or decorations. His entertainment space consisted of his tv, some speakers, and consoles, all of which were stored in the cabinet that the television was standing on. His bed was organized, not a single pillow out of place. His desk had multiple folders on top of it, all stacked neatly.
"For a guy with a messed-up mind his room sure is clean." She commented, walking around as she picked up different objects that intrigued her.
Sighing, Butterfly began to walk towards the door that had her name engraved on it, opening it slowly. "God, didn't think this would be so boring."
"What's so boring?"
"Dwah!" Butterfly jumped at the sudden voice, making her almost fall backwards as she clung onto the door. "What are you doing here?!"
Butch stood beside her bed, looking at her with a confused look. "Because I was fixing your room?"
"I can do it myself!"
"Suit yourself." He replied, facing her with a smirk on his face. "I've already fixed it though, you don't really have to do anything. Well, that is unless you want us to go and mess around?"
Gritting her teeth, she marched on forwards and grabbed him by the collar. Despite his protests, Butterfly continued to push him until he was finally out of the door. "Do. Not. Go. In. My. Room. Again."
Chuckling, Butch shot her a flirty smile. "Sure thing, babe." He said. "My room is always open for you, though." Laughing, he winked at her before finally closing the door behind him.
Running her fingers through her hair, she slowly walked towards the bed. Burying her face in the pillow, she said through a muffled voice. "Make this nightmare end."
Boomer's P.O.V.
After she settled down, I left. After getting a message about something urgent, I immediately went down to the ground floor. Brick and I were in the conference room, and now he's slowly getting more and more irritated as we waited for Butch.
"Where the fuck is he?"
"My guess is that he's banging his new roommate as we speak." I replied, leaning against the wall. "You know how he is."
Brick scoffed, sitting down on one of the chairs and opening his laptop. "He better be down here in the next five minutes or else I'll burn his ass."
"I'll try calling him." Turning on my watch, I began ringing his M.D.P. I didn't really want to deal with either of them, especially when Brick is getting impatient and Butch is being a dick as always.
The agency was very busy at this time. It's usually a miracle that we get a day off, but after we were tasked to show the new recruits around, Brick has been very cranky since this morning.
Although, it was also weird for him to call a meeting today.
After a few minutes, the sound of the door being opened echoed through the room.
"I'm here." He announced.
"That was quick." I commented as Brick began to type away at his computer.
Butch chuckled, sitting down across from Brick. "Yeah, didn't really get a chance to do it with her." He replied. "She's a tough nut to crack."
"Looks like you finally met your match." I said, sitting down next to him.
He snickered, "Bring it on, I love a challenge."
"Would the two of you shut up for just a minute?" Brick snapped, glaring at us with his fiery red eyes.
"Jeez, what got your panties in a twist?" Butch asked, leaning back into the chair. "What's this meeting about anyway?"
He ignored his question as he continued to type on his laptop. After a few seconds, he faced the laptop towards us, showing us a long document. It was the girls' profile, all of their given details.
"Your Highness made us roommates with the new recruits for a reason." Brick explained. "They wanted us to keep an eye on them."
"I'll do more than that if you know what I mean—hey!" I hit his head whilst giving him a light glare.
"You know, you don't have to sleep with every female recruit."
"Okay, fine, I won't take the blonde one, she's all yours."
"That's not what I meant—!"
"My point is just try to get as much information as you can, will you?" Brick said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "We'll have them adjust here for a few days and then their first mission will be with us. I'm supposed to send a report by next week."
Butch grumbled. "Fine."
"Dude, seriously, try not to scare her away." Brick ordered, eyeing him.
"No promises."
"All that aside, is there anything else you wanted to talk about?" I asked, knowing that there had to be some other reason. Knowing him, he wouldn't call an urgent meeting over something like this.
Brick pulled his laptop back to himself, typing away as he said, "I was able to get some information from other organizations about the project. I've sent them to you so you guys better go over them thoroughly. Like the report, I need it by next week."
"I'll get to it tomorrow."
"Same here." I replied. "Let's just hope it's correct this time."
Bloom's P.O.V.
"Yeah, we've settled down now." I said through my compact as I paced around in my room, trying my best to talk in a very low voice. I could hear the TV from the other side of the room, which meant Brick was still here. "Luckily, we were able to pass the test. The only bad news is that we have to share a room with one of the villains here."
Rustling could be heard on the other end as a voice said, "That does seem to be a bit of a problem."
"Don't worry Professor, Kaoru can teleport, remember?"
"Yes, well, right now we don't really have to strike immediately." The Professor replied. "You've been on undercover missions, right? I trust that you know what you're doing."
I sighed, sitting down on my vanity as my eyes stared at the blank wall in front of me. "Yeah, I have. However, it was often only for a week or two, not exactly a few months." I explained, "Right now, the plan is just really to get them to trust us. Considering how we still know so little of this place, it'll be useful to try and talk to other people here as well as trying to gather more intel."
"You're right, do you mind giving me a full layout of the place?"
"Easier said than done, this place has almost the same security as LUX." I said, pinching the bridge of my nose. "But I'll try. I don't really have any gadgets here with me, but I think I could request one, like a laptop and such."
The Professor let out a big sigh. "I'm sorry about that. From the letter I got from that place, it said that the only thing you were supposed to bring was yourselves and any weapons you possess."
"It's alright, we'll make do with what we have." I answered as I played with the ends of my hair. "I'll talk to you later, Professor. I think lunch is supposed to be served by now and Brick might be coming back any second."
"I understand, if you have time later at night try to contact the other two so that we may discuss some things before we move forward in our plan."
"Got it, goodbye Professor." I said as I closed my compact and returned it to my belt. It was only the first day so there wasn't anything big we were supposed to do anyway. However, now that we're sharing a room with the Rowdies, we have to atleast get a hold of their schedule to see when and what time they would be leaving the room.
After we were told about this, I was confident that they wanted to keep a closer eye on us. Let's face it, three villain girls who suddenly show up and just happen to be the mirror images of three well-known heroes? I'd be suspicious too if I were in their position.
Give or take a few days, we were supposed to be here for less than three months. For us, this was longer than any other undercover mission that we had to take. Though I can't really call it an official mission since it has been a secret from LUX.
Training and working while balancing school and our personal lives wasn't easy. Due to a request from us to further enhance our abilities in crime fighting, we were put into the National Police Agency, serving as members of the Criminal Affairs Bureau. Because we were still minors back then, working at only fourteen years of age, we had to lie about our age with the aid of the mayor and the former Head of the National Police Agency.
We were first sworn in as criminal investigators, trying to learn the basic operations they go through in solving crimes. However, we were then put into a more classified group of investigators in the agency.
No one but the head supervisors within the agency knew about our true identity. They acknowledged our powers as heroes, and they decided to put that into good use. We served at the Criminal Affairs Bureau for a few months before we got transferred to a secret branch of the National Police Agency that had people who were just like us.
And that was LUX, the League of the Unknown.
In that organization, people who were anything but ordinary helped with crime fighting in the city. Known as the Gifted, they had strange abilities that were beyond the capabilities of a normal human. From super speed to telepathy, there were many of them that blended into society.
For so long now, LUX was a place for them to utilize their abilities for the greater good. They're considered a secret weapon of the agency. Because of our own powers and status as superheroes, we were more than qualified to be in this organization.
There, we trained even harder. Their advanced technologies developed by the people there were used to enhance their abilities, including ours. Our powers got stronger over time as we kept the city safe once again from all crime.
But that didn't mean that people who were Gifted were all well-monitored within the walls of LUX. Many Gifted people joined gangs; many others, on the other hand, made up some of the population of the R.I.D. and other crime organizations. Even in the secret community of superpowered humans, there was a war going on between us.
But working for four years now, we already made a name for ourselves—facing off against many people up in the city and underground. The problem for this mission now lies in whether or not we would be able to disappear for a while without anyone questioning why.
It's going to be hard, but we just have to convince the other members that we were occupied with something else. Knowing that there are hundreds of members in the organization, we just had to trust our colleagues to cover for us.
I was then startled by the sudden knock on my door. "Hey Bloom, you in there?" I heard him say from the other end.
"Yeah, do you need something?"
"No, lunch is here."
Brick Jojo of the Rowdyruff Boys is calling me for lunch while we were in the R.I.D. headquarters. If this isn't on my list of top weirdest days I don't even know anymore.
Standing up from where I sat, I opened the door. He was already sitting down on the couch, having laid our trays on the coffee table. He didn't bother to look in my direction as he ate silently. The TV was turned on, seemingly on some news channel.
Walking towards him, I picked up my tray.
"Going somewhere?" He asked, his eyes looking up to meet mine. His voice seemed sincere, but there was a certain glint in his eyes that I didn't like.
"To my room?" I asked, raising my eyebrow at him. "To eat?"
He chuckled, his lips curling up to a smile. "Now there, are you really avoiding me on the very first day that we meet?" He asked, scooting over a bit. "We're going to be living together for a while. It wouldn't hurt to talk for a bit, don't you agree?"
What was he playing at? My gut was telling me no, but on the other hand, I thought about what I could get from talking with him. If he thinks he could fool me with some kind of trap, then he has another thing coming.
Without saying another word, I sat down on the couch. Picking up the bowl and some chopsticks, we both started to eat. At some times, I could feel his eyes on me. Trying to not seem affected by it, I had my eyes glued on the TV, trying to seem interested in whatever they were reporting on.
"So," He started, having just finished his meal. "I'd be lying if I say that I wasn't intrigued by you and your sisters when you entered this place. This place isn't exactly for delicate flowers like you to roam about."
I rolled my eyes at him. "We're anything but delicate. And when I entered this place, I think I was right about my first impression of you."
"Which is?"
"An arrogant know-it-all that seems to have me and my whole life figured out when we've known each other for a mere couple of hours." I retorted, as I took another piece of my food. He expects to get an angry reaction out of me. Too bad for him, I wasn't going to give him what he wanted.
Smirking, he came closer to me. "Can't really say I'm flattered by what you just said."
"It wasn't supposed to be a compliment anyway."
He chuckled once more. "You sure are cold, Ice Princess." He teased.
"You started it." I replied, putting down my chopsticks as I just finished my meal. Crossing my legs, I leaned back into the couch. "You already saw it back when you tested us, if only I could, I would've beaten your ass right now."
"Woah, slow down now. I was only teasing you." He said, putting up his hands in defense, his smirk still plastered on his face. "If I said anything offensive, I apologize."
Rolling my eyes at him, I let out a frustrated sigh. "What do you want, Brick?"
"As I said, I just wanted to talk."
"Then talk."
Clearing his throat, he turned his body slightly to face me. Reluctantly, I faced him. His eyes looked over my face, my body, and my gestures. If he was undressing me with his eyes I would slap him across the face, but I knew that he wasn't.
He was studying me.
I remained as calm as possible. I've experienced being on the other end multiple times ever since I joined LUX. When you want to learn about someone without even talking to them, you'd observe them. Even a little twitch could tell something about a person, and that was what he was doing.
Am I surprised by the fact that he is actually behaving like an agent? Of course, I was. The only thing is, I'm also a trained agent and spy.
"Any particular reason why you'd join this organization?"
"If I'm not mistaken, I already told the reason back at the conference room." I answered.
His face was serious, his eyes not breaking contact with mine. "Ah, yes, the daughters of the infamous Professor Jones who have come to take revenge on the Powerpuff Girls who took their daddy away."
I just remained silent, trying my best to keep my composure. "You know Bloom, your resemblance to Blossom is really uncanny. It's almost as if the trope is true, of someone having an evil twin."
"Believe me, if I could trade my face to not look like that hag, I would." My eyebrows furrowed as the words came out of my mouth.
"Now, now, why would you give up such a pretty face like that." He said with a very distinct flirty tone to his voice. He placed his finger under my chin, tilting my head slightly as he leaned in closer.
On the outside, I gave him a blank stare. On the inside, I was shocked. That little brat that would freak out whenever he'd even touch a girl because he'd get "cooties" was actually attempting to flirt.
As intrigued as I may be, I wasn't someone that he could just seduce to get the information he wanted.
If he wants to play, I'll play.
I leaned in closer. He stood still, trying to see what I was going to do next. My lips neared his ear, each breath I took lightly tickling his skin. "Pretty as you might think, I'm no delicate girl." I whispered, "If you try to cross me, I'll show you how I play with fire."
Teasing him, I nibbled his ear, leaving a little peck before pulling away. He remained serious, his brick red eyes seemingly staring into my soul.
Slowly getting up, I worked my way towards the door. Glancing over my shoulder, I smirked at him. Even if I was Blossom, Bloom, or even Momoko, things wouldn't change.
Because no matter what, I'm no longer a delicate little flower.
Narrator's/Third Person's P.O.V.
The sun still didn't set, but the orange hue it gave the sky was beyond beautiful. In the R.I.D. headquarters, an individual was coming down from one of the many elevators. The sound of her heels clicked loudly but was drowned by the loud noise of people talking.
Looking in both directions, she began to wander around. With each turn of her head her blonde hair swayed gracefully. Her pearl sapphire blue eyes looked in all directions, taking in every detail of her surroundings.
As she strutted along the ground floor, agents would turn their heads to catch a glimpse of her unparalleled beauty. Despite their stares, Bright continued to walk around, unbothered by the attention she was getting. Though, in her mind, she wondered if she was the right person to do this.
Bloom tasked her to survey the ground floor for the layout that she was going to do. The task in itself was easy. Bright has been assigned to missions like this—surveying a building before the actual infiltration—but being in a place that was filled with trained villains wasn't putting her beating heart at ease.
Butterfly, on the other hand, was tasked to talk to the lower-ranking agents. Despite how she is, she has a way of getting information without using brute force. Although, violence wasn't completely off the list of things she's willing to do to get what she wants.
They had a long period of time to prepare. Considering that this was a huge organization, they need all the time they can get. Despite their past histories with some of the villains here, they'd have to get their trust as well.
For the good of Tokyo, they will do anything.
As Bright took another turn towards a different corridor, she suddenly lost her balance. "Ahh!" She exclaimed, but then she felt a soft surface, almost like a big pillow.
"You girl, okay?" Looking up from where she was, Bright realized that she was pressed up against someone. As she looked at the face of her catcher, she gasped. It was Big Billy of the Gangreen Gang.
Hurriedly regaining her composure, she cleared her throat. "O-Oh… sorry about that." She said, bashfully scratching the back of her head.
He then reached out her hand to her, seemingly holding something in his closed hand. Bright raised her eyebrow at him. Opening the palm of his hand, there laid a small blue teardrop jewel.
"Y-yours?"
She recognized it. Bringing up her hand to one of her ears, she noticed that part of her earring was missing. 'The impact must have broken it.' She thought.
Tilting her head upwards to look at him, she gave him a big smile. "Yes, it is, thank you very much."
Big Billy then gave her the jewel, his hands seemingly getting a bit shaky. "Big Billy… for Bright, very sorry."
"It's okay, I know you didn't mean to." Bright replied, chuckling. "It's nice to meet you, Big Billy, but I really have to go now, I'll see you later?"
He nodded, his nervousness finally fading as he gave her a toothy grin. Waving goodbye at each other, Big Billy began walking towards the corridor opposite from where she was going. As she looked back over her shoulder, Bright couldn't help but think.
Big Billy was a bit softer and nicer than what she remembered.
She continued to roam the halls for a while. After going through a few floors, she bumped into another person, one she was very familiar with.
"Oh, what?" The high-pitched voice said, looking over her shoulder to meet Bright's eyes. "Oh! It's you!"
Bright laughed, albeit a bit nervously. Standing in front of her was Princess, her bright starry eyes still twinkling. She still had her bright purple dress on, though it seemed a bit more intricate in its details. She also had a bigger and shinier tiara sitting on top of her curly brown hair.
"U-Uh, hey…" Bright said, not sure of what to say.
"You are the new recruit that Sedusa told me about." She then eyed Bright closely. "Hm… You do seem harmless enough."
"Harmless enough?"
"That's it, I, Princess, am going to approve of this." She exclaimed in a loud voice. "You and whoever you brought with you here are invited to join us in our recreational rooms. And I will not accept a no, you should be honored that even if you are just a rookie, you have been asked to join by none other than me, the prettiest agent here!"
Bright's eyes widened in shock, a bit overwhelmed by what she just said. "Wait, what do you mean?"
"Be there! I will send you the details and I expect you to come on time!" She exclaimed without providing her an explanation. "Ta-ta little one, it is truly nice to meet you."
She then left, giggling, leaving Bright to sigh. 'You didn't even ask my name…"
It was already nearing 11:00 pm, and most rooms in the agency had already turned off their lights. The girls have already turned off theirs a while ago. Their doors were locked, hoping to keep out their roommates as they talked through their ear devices.
Butterfly, having changed out of her villain clothes, sat on her bed. She kept her voice low as faint electronic voices came from her ICED.
"Professor? Are you there?" Bright asked.
It took a while, but the Professor was finally connected. "Yes girls, I'm here." He said, "How is your first day?"
"Let's see, I'm sharing a room with a green-eyed despicable pervert so I can't really say I'm enjoying it here." Butterfly answered, rolling her eyes in disgust.
"He'll get tired of it eventually. It's hard to believe that someone can flirt 24/7." Bloom replied.
"I highly doubt it."
"The boys aside though, it's been pretty uneventful." Bright said, "What we can say though is that the place is brimming with agents."
"As expected, it's still astonishing how they were able to get so many."
Butterfly laid down on her bed, closing her eyes as she said, "Well, basing from what Sedusa said it looks like each and every one here gets paid." She recalled, placing a hand under her head. "You get food, a room, and money, seems like a pretty good deal if you ask me."
Bloom sighed from the other end. "That means that they weren't exactly inactive during these past years. Money doesn't exactly grow from trees. If they're able to have this many advanced technologies and agents, that means they have been operating underground without our knowledge at all."
"That does seem weird." Bright commented, "You'd expect even for the National Police Agency to at least get a trace of their activities."
"It just means that they're that good." The Professor said.
Butterfly scoffed at their statements, "Please, once we start moving this organization will start to crumble."
"Speaking of the R.I.D., I think we can get started on your first mission." The Professor started as the faint sound of typing was heard from their earpiece. "Considering that you girls need to lay low for a while, it is crucial for you to know what you're dealing with first. I asked your colleagues, Tatsuya and Azami, to give me all of the information on the R.I.D. that LUX has gathered. I'll send them to your individual compacts to review."
"Surely they'll have their files stored somewhere, whether it be digitally or on paper." Butterfly replied, letting out a soft yawn.
On the other end, a faint scribble sound could be heard. "Got it, Professor. We'll start once we see an opening." Bloom answered.
"Hopefully we can get this done as soon as possible." Bright replied.
"Well then, I think we should all get a good night's rest now." The Professor said. "Sleep well girls, we're all counting on you."
"Good night to you too, Professor."
"Good night everyone!"
"G'night." Butterfly replied, removing her earpiece and placing it inside of her nightstand drawer.
Yawning, she covered her lower body with the comforter. It was pitch black in her room, with only the moon from the small window in her room as her source of light. She didn't feel sleepy yet, quite the contrary. Ever since the incident that happened years ago, she had been a night owl ever since.
Even if she didn't want to admit it, this organization was more than meets the eye. There was something that just wasn't sitting right with her. She wasn't sure yet, but that gut feeling seemed to echo louder the more she thought about it.
She sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "I wonder…" She whispered, "…how are you guys doing over there?"
