"No fucking way."

"Come on, Kaoru." A high-pitched bubbly voice said on the other line of their ICED earpiece. "You heard what they said, it's Butch who's in charge of those important documents."

"It's still a no."

"The Professor said we need to get all of the villains' profiles and stats, and we're not going to move forward in our mission unless you make your moves on Butch." Bloom said, making Butterfly groan.

"Why do I have to go through hell and try to get information out of that idiot?" She asked, glaring intently at the door. "I just want this mission to end as soon as possible. And besides, I can't stand being near Butch, he's driving me insane!"

Soft giggles were heard on the other end, making Butterfly even more annoyed. It has been a day since that night when they went to the so-called recreational room. And now that they know who their source will be, Bloom and Bright have been trying to convince Butterfly to try and get information from Butch.

And Butterfly knew what that meant.

"It's not like you haven't flirted with guys before." Bright said in a matter-of-fact tone. "After all, he seems like an easy one to persuade."

"He's not the tolerable yet gullible guy that we're used to in these kinds of missions."

"How so?"

"Uh, have you met him?"

"I'm sure it's not that big of a deal. Just turn on the charms, seduce him, and then we can use him to get access to those files." Bloom said, making Butterfly grimace.

"What!?" She exclaimed. "Why don't you two just seduce Brick and Boomer instead!? I'd rather die than to do that! He's practically going to be the death of me!"

"Brick is getting very suspicious and only god knows what's going on in Boomer's mind most of the time, do you really think we'll go anywhere with those two?" Bloom asked.

"But he has the mind of a sick pervert!" She replied. "There's no way I'm going near that guy."

"Kaoru, won't you relax? He's not going to eat you. Stop being a drama queen, you're reminding me of Princess."

"Easy for you to say! You don't share the same room as him! Let alone get paired up with him all the time!"

"At least you're not paired with a genius that has an ego that's higher than his own IQ."

"Boomer's fine for the most part, but then again he has nothing to do with those documents."

"I'd rather have those two than this moron." She said, rubbing her temples in annoyance. "Can I switch rooms with you guys?" Butterfly asked as she groaned.

"Unfortunately, you can't," Bright replied, giggling. "You've got to get used to it. We're going to be here for like a few months."

"Okay, fine! I'll do it. You two owe me big time for this."

"Whatever you say, Kaoru," Bloom said, "Don't forget to give Butchie Boy his reward afterwards, we need to keep him hooked to use him when we need him."

"So he's my pet now?" She asked, her eyebrow starting to twitch in irritation.

"I guess you can think of it that way." Bright answered. "Who knows, maybe it'll be a lot easier if you see him as a cute little dog."

Butterfly sighed, finally fully giving in to their plan. "Let's just get this over with."

"As soon as you know where and how we're going to get those documents, let me know so that I'll set up a plan." Bloom instructed, "Once we get to those, we'll know their weaknesses, and finally end your suffering with your cursed roommate, okay, Kaoru?"

She just groaned in response, knowing that this day was going to be one of the worst days of her life, and one that she would want to forget.

Butterfly's P.O.V.

"You're acting weird." His forest green eyes looked at me suspiciously, making me bite the inside of my cheek.

It was still morning, and I had to use this time to get the most out of him. From what I've observed for the past few days living with this abomination, he went out almost every day at this exact time. I'm not sure where he goes. However, by the looks of it, with his tank top, sweatpants, and gym bag, I could already guess where he was going.

"What do you mean by weird?"

"You're asking me where I'm going and if you could come." He said, smirking. "I ain't complaining, but it's just so random for you to ask that."

"You are going out to train or work out, right?"

"Yeah, so?"

I clapped my hands together, "Alright then, wait for me, I'm getting my stuff."

Without waiting for a response, I dashed towards my room and slammed the door shut. After a while and finally realizing what had just happened, I slid down the door and clutched handfuls of my hair. It had only just sunk in what I was going to do.

"Just turn on the charms, seduce him, and then we can use him to get access to those files." I shuddered at the thought of me doing that to him. I'll admit that I've dated a few and have gone out on intel-gathering missions with the other two. And because of that, I've been able to flirt my way to get what I wanted.

But now that I'm in this situation, do I really need to do it with that guy? For fuck's sake, he's a goddamn pervert! Can't I just ask him directly? It'll be a lot easier that way.

"Whatever you say, Kaoru. Don't forget to give Butchie Boy his reward afterwards, we need to keep him hooked to use him when we need him." I mentally cursed at the thought. I detested the idea of being the one having to do this, but I also wanted this mission over with.

Damn it!

I just rubbed my temples in frustration. I have to do what I can while we're together later. Whether I'll be getting that information or end up beating him up in the process, I'm still not sure. Let's just hope he decides to act like a normal person for once.

Quickly putting on some proper clothes and anything other necessary things I might need. As I opened the door, there he was looking at me with a smirk on his face. Approaching him, I immediately help up my hand to his lips.

"Behave yourself if you want to get something out of this." I told him, trying my best to hold in the annoyance in my voice.

His smirk widened, "Sure thing, babe."

As we made our way outside, I walked ahead of him. Not only was I hating this situation, I didn't want him to see the scowl on my face as soon as I stepped out of that room. Knowing that he was expecting something from me made things even worse.

I've dealt with guys like him before, and I knew what they wanted. I've sucked it up before, I need to suck it up now. I just fucking wish that when he gets what he wants, he goes for another girl and leaves me alone.

Just hope that he won't bring anyone back to our room or else I'm going to beat some asses.

As expected, we went back to the training room. But unlike before, it looked completely different. The room was dimmer and was lit with stripes and lines of red lights. It wasn't that pleasing to the eyes, but it was tolerable enough for me to see everything.

It reminded me of the simulation room we had back in LUX. There, we had an advanced set of technologies to create the appropriate atmosphere or targets we needed for training. It helped us and new members to improve our abilities even more.

Although, it had only been made recently, only about a year ago. There's still a few glitches to the system every now and then but it was still sufficient. Besides, there was always the traditional training room that me and the girls used ever since we joined.

Butch tossed his bag to the side, making me look towards his direction. He pressed something on his M.D.P., making two holographic screens appear in front of both of us.

"Uhm, care to explain what we're supposed to do here?" I asked.

"We won't be doing the usual training stages, you know, the ones you did last week." He explained, swiping and tapping god knows what on the screens. "Mojo and the others have been testing out a new training system, and it just so happens that I was tasked to give it a try. I've already calibrated the settings so you just need to put your hand on the screen."

I crossed my arms. "So that's why you allowed me to join you."

"It's always better with more people to test it out." Butch said before looking back at me with a playful expression on his face. "But that's not the only reason."

I let out a small chuckle. "I'm not going to make it easy for you." I teased, smirking back at him. "You've gotta show a girl a good time."

"Then your wish is my command."

Placing both of our hands on the screens in front of us, suddenly the lights on the wall changed to a bright white color. And then there, from where we stood, were a few holograms solidifying to form something. And then, almost immediately, there were two 20-feet tall mech robots in front of us.

Before I could even react, Butch zipped past me and began going at one of the robots. Even with its size, it was able to keep up with his flight speed. It swung and aimed at him with its arms and weaponry. He dodged effortlessly, and it almost seemed like he was twitching with excitement.

I didn't realize that I was practically staring at him. It was only when my vision and surroundings got darker when I realized the robot looming over my small figure. As it lifted its fist, I quickly got out of the way as the loud sound of its impact on the floor resonated throughout the whole room.

As I looked at Butch, that's when I realized something.

He wasn't in his usual attire, and he wasn't using any of his elemental powers. That and he purposely didn't tell me to transform when we got in. I could still use some of my powers, but they're very limited when I'm not fully transformed. And now I'm guessing that was the same for him too.

When he said he was going to work out, I didn't think we'd have this much of a handicap.

But then again, I wasn't going to let him show me up.

As the robot came after me again, I quickly flew up and began analyzing it. It had a heavy upper build, it's lower half seemed out of place but it was able to make it move swiftly. Its head was a bit small, but its eyes were very large as it continued to shoot out small laser beams at me.

With each swing it aimed, I dodged, all the while trying to get closer to the lower half of his body. Even if it was a robot, it was able to figure out what I was doing. It used all his might and speed to prevent me from attacking the lower half of its body.

As much as I wanted to break a sweat, I couldn't do much with the limited abilities I have. And even with the belt around my waist, somehow, I couldn't even transform.

I didn't know why, but I just wanted this to be over for me to get Butchie Boy talking.

Even in this state, I wasn't left with just my flight abilities. Streaks of dark light surrounded my hand. As those particles solidified, my katana was summoned.

As I dodged another laser beam, I charged right at it, swinging my sword to cut through its metal body. It roared, as though it was in pain. It swung crazily, trying to hit me.

Keeping up with the momentum, I dodged through its arms and sliced through the joint that was connecting it. It fell on the hard ground with a loud crash. With one of its arms gone, I dove to the lower half of its body and began slicing through its legs. As I did, it began to crumble down until it finally fell onto the ground completely.

I landed beside it, seeing if it was completely knocked out. But to my surprise, its broken parts morphed to form several miniature flying robots that charged towards me. I quickly flew back to avoid them, but it persisted as they followed my every move.

As I tried to keep them at bay by swinging my sword at them, they kept coming back. The sound of metal on metal, as well as the very audible crashing sounds coming from where Butch was, filled the room. And as I was being bombarded by a pack of machines, they suddenly stopped right in front of me, completely frozen.

I stepped back just in case there was something wrong. Before I could go back any further, however, a hand pushed me back slightly.

Looking over my shoulder, there was Butch with his eyes focused on those machines. His dark green eyes glowed with one of his hands on the small of my back and the other one extended forward. As if they were hypnotized, the machines followed his hand's movements. And with one swift move, they were all sent flying to the other side of the room, completely smashing it into pieces.

I froze. My eyes darted back and forth between him and the machines. I've seen this before with other members of LUX. Though it's a very strong ability, telekinetic powers were very hard to train and were often unstable especially in younger Gifted people.

Seeing him use it for the first time made me look at him in shock. Lowering both of his hands, he turned to look at me. "You okay?"

"They really didn't hold back their punches." I said, dusting myself off. "But I'm fine. It's just annoying with whatever you've done with my powers."

He chuckled. "It's not a workout if you don't even break a sweat." He said. "Limiting what you can do will make it harder and honestly more exciting. Besides, we're not even done yet."

"Wai—!" His fist flew straight at me as I dodged it in the nick of time. "What the hell?!"

"Training isn't over yet. After all, I'm still standing."

"You didn't think it was necessary to tell me before throwing a punch?!"

"I knew you would dodge it."

"Still!" I exclaimed before parrying another attack from him. With every strike he aimed at me, I dodged it. And with every counter I did, he managed to block it.

Compared to when we were at Crystal Creek, he was a bit slower and weaker in his attacks. However, the same goes for me. And with each strike, I could tell that he wasn't just aimlessly throwing whatever he can at me.

I've trained in martial arts for a bit though it's no longer my forte in sports. But from what I can tell, Butch was not only strong but was very tactical in how he landed each blow with every limb in his body. This type of mastery and skill has to be learned and trained for years.

And now, I can see that he wasn't an opponent that I should underestimate. As I caught his fist again, I couldn't help but return his smirk. "Good to see that you're actually entertaining me." I threw his hand away and swung my leg, which he instantly blocked again.

"I still don't see you sweating,ねこ-ちゃん~ (Neko-chan/Little Cat)." He threw me back, making me roll over and regain composure.

Wait a minute, what was it that he just called me?! "Oh you're so going to get it now."

With every punch, with every kick, and with every blow, I absentmindedly found myself actually having fun. I hate to admit but being able to have an equal in hand-to-hand combat was actually enjoyable.

Back at LUX, there were only a bunch of people who were really gifted in pure strength. And with my powers giving me the upper hand in most situations, it sometimes gets a bit boring. In the rare chance that I am faced with a strong training partner back at LUX, I get beaten almost every time.

But now, with Butch meeting my attacks blow for blow without any sign of one overpowering the other, I couldn't help but let out a small grin.

Narrator's/Third Person's P.O.V.

Now back in their room, both of them drank their water hungrily after the tiring workout session. They went on for so long with no apparent "winner" in their sparring session. They were, instead, forced out of the room as another set of agents were scheduled to use it.

As she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, Butterfly looked back at her roommate. "Hate to admit it but I'm just fucking glad that you weren't a disappointment in combat."

"I'm not just a visual, you know." He remarked, running his hand through his spiky hair. "You're not so bad yourself. Can't really say I wasn't shocked at how you moved, I bet you could even beat Boomer to a pulp."

"I would've beaten you up too if only we had the training room to ourselves."

"I would love to see you try."

As she rolled her eyes, she turned her body to face him. "What was it exactly that was limiting you and me in there?" She asked, hoping that with the actually civil conversation they were having that Butch would finally spill the beans.

"Just something they've been developing recently, I've heard that they've already installed it in the File Room."

Butterfly's ears perked up. "What exactly is it?"

He smirked, looking at her captivatingly. "You've been awfully talkative today." He said as he held her chin between two of his fingers. "After days of ignoring and blowing off any moves I've made on you, you seem like a complete 180."

Butterfly gave him a sultry look, although on the inside she was already fuming. "What can I say?" She said in a soft voice. "You do know how to show a girl a good time."

Knowing that she now had him in her snare, she caressed his neck before placing her hand on his torso. His skin was hot; his lustful eyes looking straight at her. Butterfly, just as with other missions she's done involving something like this, gave him a small yet sultry smile. 'Here goes nothing,' She thought as she finally pulled him in.

Their lips met; a rough and fervorous kiss. As the kiss got deeper, she placed both of her hands on his chest, pushing him on the couch. She didn't waste a moment as her lips found itself crashing onto his again.

As she raked her fingers through his hair, his hands snaked around her waist. He gripped it tight, making her moan. Breaking the kiss, they both were out of breath; clothes and hair were a total mess.

Without giving her any time to breath, Butch quickly switched their positions, his frame towering her dainty figure. Her hands caressed his chest, feeling the chiseled abs underneath. Butterfly moaned, the taste of passion staining her delicate lips as she gave in to the intense kiss.

As she attempts to rid him of his clothes, he breaks the kiss. And in one swift move, he removed his tank top. He quickly dove back down, hungrily kissing her exposed neck.

She mentally cursed at herself. She tried to convince herself that there was no spark, that she was merely doing this for the mission. She was pretending to like it for him to be convinced.

But as her hands traced the outline of his abs, she found herself melting into him. His hands tugged at the hem of her top. He sat up once again and removed the piece of clothing, leaving her with only her shorts and bra.

As she felt his hot hands caressing her sides, she mentally screamed at herself to stop. It was enough, she gave him what he wanted. But her body didn't seem to want to listen.

She moved in sync with his touch and kisses. And as he licked her bottom lip, asking for entrance, her mind went blank. Even if she didn't want to, she finally obliged.

He explored the cavern of her mouth, memorizing every inch. She, in turn, held onto his neck, pulling him closer. They fought for dominance, passion seeping through both of them. And as he placed his hands on her shorts, trying to pry them off of her, a loud ringing sound came.

They both pulled away from each other. Butch cursed under his breath as he got off from the couch, not even bothering to wear his shirt. Butterfly quickly grabbed her top, silently thanking the heavens for the interruption.

Butch opened the door and there revealed a man in his butler suit with a cart full of food.

"We are deeply sorry for the delay Mr. Jojo and Ms. Butterfly."

"Just give me the damn food." Butch snapped at the man.

"Right away, sir." The man picked up two plates from the cart and gave them to Butch. Butch took the plates and placed it on the table.

"Have a nice me—" Before the man good finish, Butch slammed the door.

Wearing her tank top, she looked at him with a questioning look. 'Someone is definitely missing the kisses,' she thought.

"Relax, Butch." I said as I stood up and went over to the table.

He rubbed his temples in frustration. "I fucking hate being interrupted." He said. "He better be glad I'm tired or else I would've just beaten his ass."

She just gave a weak smile as she took his hand in hers. "I'd be happy to pick up where we left off if you could answer my question from earlier." She said in an innocent voice, teasingly running up her fingers on his torso.

"You really are a curious one, aren't you?" Butch asked, leaning in closer. "Bad things could happen to curious little cats like you."

She was internally fuming. But now that she had gotten this far, Butterfly wasn't going to let him intimidate her. "There are a lot of things I'm curious about." She said as she pulled him closer by the waistband of his pants. "Can't really blame a girl like me that loves to get into trouble."

Butch gave her a low chuckle, before placing a finger under chin. "Guess we'll just have to satisfy that curiosity, won't we?"

She smirked in return. Now that she finally has him hooked, it won't be long now until she has him at her beck and call. As soon as they get those files and finally know what their weaknesses are, she'll show him just how bad she can be.

It was late afternoon and the sun was getting ready to set. It was quiet, and it made Bright want to roam around her roommate's side of the room.

Unlike the other two, Boomer hasn't really been that secretive or private about his space. When he goes out, he always tells her and even encourages her to visit his room every once in a while since his side had a tv, a computer, and a few other useful stuff. Bright was suspicious at first, but then started to get used to his hospitality.

She was still a bit cautious, however. She, after all, didn't know if his intentions were indeed good. She always wondered what if he was just doing that so that she would eventually slip up?

She always hoped that wasn't the case. Even back then with all the countless people she helped put in jail, she watched some of those people change during their time there. Even with the mission, she knew that deep within her heart she wanted to believe that at least some of the people around here are more than what they think they are.

But if her belief was proven to have all been a fantasy, then there was nothing else she could do.

As she began hanging around in his room a lot more, Bright began to notice some things about him that she had overlooked before.

He was fairly very organized with his stuff, having things organized in the many drawers he had in his room. Although he was given a luxurious and spacious room, he had very minimalistic furniture and appliances. But even with that, she really found it interesting at how much care he put into his appearance.

He, like her, had his own personal bathroom and vanity space. And whenever she takes a peek into his room, she sometimes sees him putting on multiple creams and serums on his face. It was a bit weird at first, and to her defense she was used to seeing him throwing his earwax at people.

As she paced around his room, she spotted one of his jackets messily laying around his bed. Curious, she picked it up. And as she inspected it, that's when she noticed a tear on one of the sides. It seemed like it was forcefully ripped apart by something as the threads were now fully exposed.

Having gone through many fights in their career as superheroes, the girls have seen rough times. And ever since that day when their white Z-rays were taken from them, their powers have gone weaker and their forms became more vulnerable. That's why taking that intense training in LUX was essential for them to cover up those weak spots.

And with that weakening of their power, their clothes were also subject to many cuts, tears, and holes. Every now and then the Professor tries to upgrade their clothing, but it's still prone to breaking. Bright didn't know if it was out of habit but she began scouring for some needle and thread to patch it up.

As she looked through his drawers, hoping that Boomer wouldn't get upset, she found a small spool of thread and a needle. And fortunately for her, it was the same color as the fabric.

Sitting down on the couch, she began stitching the jacket up. Over the years as she fixed her and the girls' clothing, as well as her love for fashion, Bright has gotten better with sewing. It was, in a way, a calming hobby for her.

As minutes passed of her sewing and humming, the door silently opened to reveal the blue-eyed Rowdyruff. She, on the other hand, didn't seem to notice, and just kept humming along as she sewed.

Boomer was a bit confused as to what she was doing. Walking up behind her, he leaned in. "What are you doing?"

"Aah!" She jumped and screamed, accidentally poking her finger with the needle. "Ow…" She said in a soft voice, pulling her hand out from the jacket. There she saw a small trickle of blood forming from where she pricked herself.

"Oh shit, are you okay?" He immediately went to her side, grabbing her hands in his. As he inspected the wound, he stood up, "Come on, follow me."

He led her to his bathroom, where he helped clean the small wound on her finger. "Sorry, I was a bit clumsy." She said as she felt his fingers rubbing against hers.

Boomer let out a small smile. "I caused this and you're the one apologizing?" He chuckled softly. "You're an odd one, that's for sure."

"I just get a bit too jumpy sometimes."

"At least now I know to knock before coming in." He then opened the small cabinet hanging above the sink, getting out a small bandage for her.

"Don't be silly, you live here, dummy." She said as he placed the bandage around her finger for her. "Nevertheless, thanks. You didn't have to help me with all of that."

"Don't mention it," He replied as they both got out of the bathroom. "What were you doing anyway?"

Bright's face blushed a faint pink, "I was just, uhm… you know..."

Struggling to find the right words, Boomer walked over towards the couch to pick up what she was holding. Looking at it carefully, that's when he noticed the almost complete stitchwork on his clothes. "You were fixing it?"

She lightly brushed her cheek with the tip of her finger. "Yeah, pretty much." She answered. "I saw it laying around and thought about patching it up for you."

He was taken aback by her kind gesture. It was completely out of the blue for her to do this. But as he looked at the article of clothing yet again, he couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

Bright looked at him confusedly. "What's so funny?"

"I have to admit that I didn't expect this when I came here," He said, placing the jacket down. "You must have been bored while you're here alone. Want to come with me?"

"To where?"

"I came back up here to get some stuff for something that I've been working on."

She blinked, confusion even more evident on her face. "I'm going to help you work?"

"Just trust me," He said, flashing her a charming smile that she secretly couldn't get enough of. "I promise that you won't regret it."

Bright hesitated for a second. But before she knew, she found herself nodding and agreeing to his offer. Pleased with her decision, Boomer quickly took a few items from one of his many drawers and stuffed them in his inner jacket pockets.

Turning around to face her, he held out his hand, "Shall we?"

They flew out of the castle side by side, with Bright having a curious look in her eyes as Boomer brought along a strange small device attached along his belt loop. He didn't mention where they were going, just that they had to go before the sun had already set.

As they flew, Boomer looked at her. "So, it seems like you guys are fitting right in." He said. "I saw you with your sisters the other day, you seemed to be enjoying yourself."

"I guess we are." She replied. "The warm welcome from the other agents was really a shock, but it's good to see that we aren't treated as outsiders even if we're just new."

"Hey, we're not all bad."

"I never said you were."

Boomer grinned as he placed both of his hands behind his head, flying backwards. "You're pretty cool, you know that?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well, you guys seemed a bit off when you first got here." He explained. "But living with you for the past few days, it seems like you're pretty normal."

Bright raised her eyebrow at him. "Uhm, thank you?"

"Though I can't say the same about your sisters."

"Why? What happened to them?"

Boomer crossed his arms as he stared off into space. "Brick and Butch have been kind of vocal with their complaints about their roommates. It's kind of annoying to be honest."

She pouted at his statement. "Your brothers must be exaggerating."

He shrugged in reply, closing his eyes as kept flying. "I wouldn't put it past them. Especially Butch, he can be so impulsive that it makes me look smarter than he i—"

"Boomer, watch out!"

But it was too late. Without looking at where he's going, Boomer, ironically and comedically, hits his head on the bark on one of the trees in the forest. As he fell down with a loud thud, Bright quickly rushed to his side.

"Oh my god, are you alright?" Boomer didn't respond, just clutched his head in pain while hissing curses. "We should go back, you might have a concussion."

After coming back to his senses, he exclaimed, "Wait, what? No! We can't miss it."

"Miss what?" Bright asked, still concerned about him.

"Come on, we have to hurry." Unexpectedly he grabbed a hold of her hand and flew onwards.

Bright was shocked at this gesture. He just so casually held her hand like it was nothing, making her feel even more embarrassed. But as she kept asking questions to diffuse the one-sided awkwardness, they finally stopped.

They hovered just above a very tall tree, the sun just about to set with the skies turning a vibrant and beautiful bright orange. But that wasn't the reason why Bright looked at it with such awe.

With the heavenly skies, there were wisps of clouds adorning it that were in the hues of the rainbow. The way it formed looked like flames. Its stunning, detached, and hair-like appearance seemed to dance with the wind as it twisted and curved gracefully.

Bright's eyes lit up at the sight. "It's so beautiful." She said in a hushed tone. "I've never seen anything like this."

"Fire rainbows, as they call it." Boomer said, sitting down on one of the large branches. "One of the agents said that it would appear today so I knew I couldn't waste this opportunity."

"But wait a minute, what does this have to do with your work?" She asked, flying beside him.

Taking the small device that he had, he swiped his hand across it. The device glowed a bright blue before flashing a bright light out. As the light died, Boomer all of a sudden had a canvas and a few pencils in his hands.

She looked at him weirdly. "Your work is to…?"

"To draw the scenery."

"That is your mission?"

"I never said anything about it being a mission." He answered, leaning back against the bark of the tree. "I was bored too, so after hearing about something like this, I just had to go out and sketch it, ya know?"

Bright sat down on the branch next to him. "Then why did you ask me to go with you?"

"You can not tell me that this doesn't just calm your head and helps you relax." He asked, gesturing towards the view in front of them. "Plus, I think taking you out of that boring room to get some fresh air is better than just a simple thank you for fixing my jacket."

She didn't know what to say. It was such a simple thing he did, but it really touched her heart. She had to admit that she loved just sitting down in nature and just taking a breather every once in a while.

She couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "Thank you." She said, flashing him a smile. His eyes softened, returning her smile before finally getting started on his work.

As Bright leaned back and stretched out her legs, she couldn't help but steal glances at him every once in a while. To be completely honest, she wasn't expecting him to not only change, but mature so much. Of course his appearance had changed, but the way he acted compared to when he was a kid was so pleasing to see.

Granted she wasn't sure what he was doing when she wasn't with him, but it was so hard to see him as anything other than the charming man he is now.

If only he just wasn't a part of this organization. Heck, if only he wasn't a bad guy to begin with, then maybe they wouldn't be in this situation right now. They could've hung out in different circumstances. She might just meet him at school, at some random cafe, or even just pass by him on the streets.

If only he wasn't a villain, then maybe things could be different.

But even with things now, she still wasn't sure if things could change between them who, figuratively, walked in the light and people like them who walked in the path of darkness.

Even within LUX, there was a lot of tension between members. There were a lot of people who deem that those who are against LUX were unworthy of any form of mercy or forgiveness. And if they didn't want to cooperate, then they were considered a threat and should be eliminated at all costs.

LUX also had a few members who were, for a lack of a better term, supremacists or extremists. They believed that those who weren't born to be one of the Gifted were filthy; the Enhanced were considered fake while those who were normal were deemed unfit in society. That's why ever since the girls joined, they were put under more training and stress than the others and were often the victim of discrimination.

Everyone in LUX is aware of this situation, but with each and every person's abilities being essential to the organization, it just seems to be ignored most of the time. That's why Bright and the girls trained harder to prove their worth. Their status as these famous superheroes were nothing to those people at LUX, so they had to truly show them that they were not just some little girls who were below everyone else.

With this harsh reality, Bright couldn't help but feel a little heartbroken. If they surrendered the R.I.D. to LUX, who knows what will happen to them? These organizations have been hunting each other down ever since the R.I.D. was formed. Worst case scenario: they'll not only put them in jail, but have them put on death row.

It's true that those who have committed crimes should be punished, but if they're not given the chance to change, then what was the point? If people believe that a person can't change no matter how bad they are, then are we even human?

They've been fighting crime for five years now, but that never-ending hope that all three of them had for every single individual they've put in jail hasn't changed. And as Bright looked at the man beside her, she couldn't help but give a sad smile.

'You have changed, haven't you?'

"Hey, could you come here for a sec?"

Bright tilted her head to the side, but obediently flew next to him. "Need help with anything?"

"How's it looking so far?"

As she looked at his sketch, she was at a loss for words. Even if he only had a few materials at hand, he was able to create something that was beyond beautiful.

His drawing consisted of a man with his back turned as he stood on the very top branch of a big tree. He was in the forest, but the man looked straight at the stunning city in front of him. And to add to the scenery, Boomer also placed the so-called fire rainbows in the sky.

Bright lightly touched his sketch. "It's amazing." She said, "I never knew you were so talented at drawing."

"It became a hobby a few years ago, and I guess I just got gradually better at it." Boomer replied, a bit embarrassed at her compliment. "I'm no expert though."

"Honestly, I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit." Bright said, giggling. "Although, there is something I would tweak a bit. Do you mind?"

"Knock yourself out." He handed her the pencil, silently observing her as she leaned forward to get a closer look.

She then began fixing the lines and adding details on the clothes that the man was wearing. As she did, Boomer let out a small smile of his own as he saw being completely focused on the drawing. It was very adorable in a way. And with each flick of her wrist, even with the smallest streak of lead scratching the surface of the canvas, he could see that she knew her way around art too.

Leaning back, and seemingly content with the improvements she made, she placed the pencil behind her ear.

"There, it looks perfect." She grinned at him, her smile rivaling the radiance of the setting sun. "Though, it's a bit of a bummer that the clouds are already fading away. They were so pretty!"

She sighed dreamily, her smile never leaving her face as she watched the scenery in front of her turning darker. Just by looking at her, Boomer couldn't help but feel happy too. As she stared in awe at the sight, he marveled at the sight of her.

Boomer thought to himself, she couldn't be what his brother's saying she is. Maybe she was just like everybody else. Maybe they were wrong about her.

How can people find fault with someone as amazing as her?

Butterfly's P.O.V.

"Are we there yet?" I asked, groaning as we were literally walking through a maze just to get to the files room.

It was already nighttime, and as soon as we finished dinner I kept bugging him to show me what that secret thing was that messed with my powers. He kept brushing off my attempts for the most part. But as soon as I kissed his cursed lips again, he was as obedient as a little pup.

"Eager much?" Butch asked, snickering. "Look, babe, if you don't want me to show you the thing you're so curious about, then we should just go back to our room and continue what we were doing." He said, smirking at me.

I rolled my eyes as I crossed my arms over my chest. "I'm not coming back to the room unless you show me where it is." I said, making him frown. "You're not getting anything out of me if you don't hurry up."

"Whatever you say." Butch replied, smirking.

As we made another turn, we were suddenly met with another staircase leading downstairs. As I looked down, I was overwhelmed by the really dark staircase that didn't seem to end. I looked at him, but he just went straight ahead as he walked down the stairs.

It was pitch black. No sign of light was evident as we made our way down. I remained mindful of my footing as I tried to follow the sound of his footsteps.

"Watch your step, babe." I heard him say which made me roll my eyes.

"I don't really need you telling me that." I replied as we continued walking down.

As we did, I accidentally tripped which made me grasp Butch's shoulders for support. "What did I tell you?" He asked in a teasing manner, making me groan in anger.

"Just shut up and walk." I retorted as I hesitantly tugged onto Butch's shirt. Hearing him snicker made me almost want to smack him.

As I waited for him to start moving, he removed my hand from his shirt and lightly gripped onto my arm. His grip wasn't painful, but I was a bit doubtful of his actions. I mean, who knows what's going on with his head?

After a moment, he started to walk, guiding me as he did so. He did it slowly and carefully, making me a bit confused by this point. His touch was so gentle, so soft.

It was calming.

"Just a little bit more." He said as we saw a faint glow. It was dim, but as we went down more, we were able to clearly see the light illuminating in front of a large door.

As I was able to see where I was going, I slowly tried to remove my arm from Butch's grasp. He clearly didn't want to let go, but his grip loosened as we stood in front of the door.

Looking back, I could barely see the entrance where we came from. It was really, really dark. The room was basically hidden from sight.

I wonder why.

Returning my gaze back to Butch, I saw him putting his hand on the hand scanner. As it started to scan him, a loud beep was heard as the door opened. And as opposed to its entrance, the inside was lit with bright white walls.

He looked back at me. "Come on in." He said, plastering his usual annoying smirk on his face.

I just rolled my eyes at him again as I started to walk in the room. Stepping in, I heard his footsteps trail mine. And as he stood beside me, the door behind us closed.

As I looked around the room, my head started to hurt.

This place was huge! Not to mention that there were a ton of tall drawers in it. This is going to be a pain in the ass once we start looking through all of these!

"And why make this hidden again?" I asked Butch who just leaned against the wall.

"Well, considering that incident with Kurogawa we had to adjust the security in this place." He explained. "We've just started to go digital with these files so some important things are still here. So to keep these files in check just in case another thing like that happens again, Your Highness made me double up security and install that thing I was talking to you about."

As I started to take mental notes of the place, I started to walk around. There were a lot of drawers, but they were seemingly all arranged neatly. It was a relief, but I was a little concerned about the security of this place.

There was something wrong when we went down to this place. I couldn't really point out what it was, but it has to have something to do with that device we've been talking about.

"And that secret thing you told me, what exactly is it?"

He scratched the back of his head. "Well, to be honest I ain't got the slightest idea what it looks like." He said sheepishly. "But I was told that it's a device that limits, weakens, or even turns off the powers of people who come in contact with it. How it does that, I have no fucking clue."

That was about as vague as vague can get. But still, it was useful information. Now, we know what to expect.

But the big question is, how do we know where these things are hidden when even he doesn't know? If we're going to infiltrate this room, we need to be cautious not just because of those devices, but because of the tighter security. If that's the case, I wonder...

"How did Kurogawa get in here?"

"Beats me, but that fucker is really going to get it once I get my hands on him." Butch said with a scowl on his face. "I never heard the end of it from Brick when we found out that he bypassed our security."

I chuckled at his statement. Kind of reminds me of Momoko's never-ending scoldings. "Shouldn't have been so lax with the security then."

He scoffed, "It was just a minor slip-up."

"A minor slip-up that called for a mission for six S-rank agents?" I laughed at his pathetic excuse. "Okay, sure, let's go with that then."

"Oh so you're mocking me now, huh?" Before I knew it, he had me pinned against the wall again, making me gasp.

His face was just a few inches away from mine, and I could feel his hot breath tickling my skin. I kept my composure, looking him straight in the eyes. He must be thinking that I'm weak under his touch. However, let's just see who was who wrapped under their little finger.

"You really know how to get under my skin, Butterfly." He said, enunciating my name teasingly. "It can be cute, but you're really testing me."

I let out a small laugh, kissing his jawline. "I love to see you all worked up."

"You still owe me one."

"Is that so?" I asked, "Well then, I guess it's time for us to go back."

"What's the rush?" He teased, caressing my cheek. "We're perfectly alone here. And looks like there's no one to interrupt us anymore."

I pouted, if he still insists on not going back I'm going to fucking use all my power to teleport us back. That device is not going to stop me from getting out of this. "Come on now, is that how you treat a lady?" I said in the most dejected tone I could. "I think we both deserve to be comfortable, don't you think so too?"

I wrapped my arms around his neck, caressing it gently. As I saw him let out a playful smirk, I knew that he had given in. "Of course, let's get going then."

He removed my hands off of him and finally stepped back. Taking one last look at the place, I followed behind Butch who had now exited the room. As we walked back, I started to take note of everything that led to this room. From the staircase, to the front door, to the hallways, I had memorized it all.

It'll be a walk in the park once we formulate the plan.

After a while, we finally made it back. But as soon as we stepped foot in the room, I suddenly felt his arm wrapping around my waist. Damn it, and here I was thinking I could make a run for it. Just how persistent was this guy?!

"Now, where were we?" He asked, chuckling.

"Yeah, I'm feeling a bit tired." I said, wiggling out of his embrace.

"You're kidding me, right?"

"Night-night, babe." I said, turning around to look at him before winking flirtily.

Before he could protest, I was quickly teleported back to my room. I ran towards my door, locking it as I heard Butch groaning from the other side of the door. Sliding down the door, I started taking in some deep breaths.

"You still owe me, Butterfly!"

Oh, great.

As I rested my forehead on my hand, I started thinking.

It's not too late to kill that pervert, right?
