~Tom marvolo riddle 's POV~

The Great hall is filled with chattering of students who are excited for new year like all usual start of the year feast and tom is quit irritated with all the noise. Don't get him wrong he loves hogwarts and its like a home to him but with all that bombings that has been taken place in london and prefect duty on train he hardly got any sleep that could revitalize him ,

so to say he was not happy would be an understatment. But he did put up his mask on, it would do no good if anyone saw him anything less then perfect

But that doesn't mean he would tolerate bullshit , with the amount of tolerance he has people may has well call him machosist first he had to deal with these fumbling fools of friends(read: followers) who he calls knights of walpargis and he also has to find the Chambers of Secrets Location and the Basilisk ,yes he found out the monster of the Chambers is a basilisk , and the Chambers was his birthright as the heir of Slytherin , not that anyone knows that.

And then here he was witness to the theory that wizards don't use logic cause if they do then would have surely banned the awful curse to eye that dumbledore calls has clothes and today he was wearing robes of doom (which itself is a bad omen) means bright yellow robes with black strips just looking at them makes him shiver and then he has to help firsties and then patrolling duty, Merlin , he just wants to finish his dinner and be gone with it

But alas fate had other plans for him cause just when they finished the sorting of last firstie and start the feast headmaster Dippet just had to make an announcement about some transfer students who lost their family in the war with Grindlewald and his followers are joining sixth and seventh year respectively

And so Dumbledore started calling their names "Evans , Harry"

and then a boy that looked a bit too small to be sixth year with messy black hair entered and sat on the stool and the hat was placed on his head

"huh, wouldn't have taken him for a hatstall " Abraxas Malfoy , his right handman said aloud when the hat took sometime and Tom just nodded not in a mood to reply

Just then the hat announced, "GRYFINDOR"

and the boy ,Harry Evans gave the hat to Dumbledore and turned to the Slytherin table as if searching something and his Emerald green eyes met tom's reddish-brown for a second and his eyes widened ever so slightly as if recognising him and turned away and take a seat in Gryfindor table

'hmm... interesting' thought tom 'have to keep an eye on him'

" Granger, Hermione "

a girl with bushy brown hair and brown eyes and sat on the stool and hat proclaimed "GRYFINDOR"

and then like that three red heads were also sorted in Gryfindor who's name were Ronald Weasley and twins who were Fredrick and Gorge Weasley were for seventh year and they all sat around the black haired teen started chatting among themselves

'something about them is suspicious'. thought tom 'It not new that many childrens get orphans during war but some many and all are acquainted hmm..suspicion doesn't end here'

Tom silently signalled for his knights to find information on them and keep an eye on them and they responded with a nod

After their sorting Headmaster Dippet told everyone to begin the feast and everyone started eating

After an Hour or so headmaster Dippet started the announcement for the year and prefects to start their duty from today and when everyone were about to head for their respective house dorms Lightning striked from the Enchanted ceiling of Great hall and there was utter chaos students were panicking and teachers were trying to calm them and there was a flash of bright red light when everyone closed their eyes and when then lights receded

Instead of lightning or red light there was boy laying on spot between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw but that alone was not an astonishing part his clothes (which seemed like some orange jumpsuit , but seriously Orange) were in torn in many parts and boy himself was bruised like he apparated from some attack or battle

when the Professors were able to calm most of them they made wide berth for teachers and prefects to see the person

Tom like other prefects reached the boy and could see that the boy had blonde hair which may have been bright if not for it looked bit dirty with mud and had natural tan and was that a whisker mark on his face?

he also had some band tied on his forehead with metal plate with a symbol with looked suspiciously like a leaf and his eyes were closed so he couldn't see the boys eyes

when all the teachers were discussing what to do with the boy and puff of cloud appeared beside the boy and was that a fox the height of average dog with nine tails?

Though it looked like a plushie is someone asked Tom not that he would tell anyone

Then the fox thing opened its mouth to speak? Woh was it speaking, now some are wondering if it truly is plushie enchanted like the sorting hat ? was it also going to sing?

"YOU MORON CAN'T YOU SEE MY KIT IS HURT HERE , STOP STANDING LIKE FOOLS AND BRING SOME MEDICAL HELP " Shouted the fox thing and immediately everyone broke out of their stupor and headmaster levitated the boy and took him to medical wing with the following them

Before going Headmaster commanded prefects to escort the students to their common room and told everyone to take rest and any further news if possible shall be told tomorrow

After the headmaster left with the stranger, the volume in Great halls started reaching new heights all student started speculating loudly what all this was and what not

When Tom turned to see the new transfer students their expressions didn't match the others like curious or suspicion but the were quit pale like they were horrified or something terrible happened

Another mystery, this year truly is full of surprises

Tomorrow he will see to them but today he just want to finish his duties and have some beauty sleep

With this thought he escorted the Slytherin students to the dungeons

Tomorrow was going to be a long day..
